As far as movie theaters go it's hard to be super happy with them since they're all really expensive.

But this theater gets five stars anyways because the theaters are HUGE, plenty of seats to choose from, it's pretty clean, and they have a Disney passholder discount so tickets come out to $10 with the discount.

    Happy Earth Day everyone!

In honor of Earth Day we headed down to Downtown Disney to watch Chimpanzee at this AMC Theater. What's better than watching a beautiful Disney movie than with a bunch of fellow Disney fans!

The movie was great, but I thought this theater was even better. Most of the employees are friendly. The concession stand was clean and organized. The theaters themselves had big, comfy chairs. The bathrooms were really nice and clean.

I just read from several over reviewers that this theater offers a Disneyland Passholder Discount! Yep, I'm making a case for an annual pass for my birthday. It doesn't hurt to plan ahead!

This is a fun, fairly quiet theater and we look forward to coming back here really soon!

Although Krikorian is cheaper, this place is sometimes convenient for me.

They offer a Disneyland Passholder discount, which is nice, and plenty of showtimes.

This particular theater is pretty dead... except when a huge movie was just released.

They offer a pretty wide variety of food at the concessions stand (mozzarella sticks, pizza, etc.) along with the standard foods (popcorn, pretzels, soda, candy).  If you're going to get food, don't complain about the prices.  You know full well what you're getting yourself into when you walk up there.

Workers are okay.  No smiles, but they do their job.

Can't go wrong with an AMC Theater.  Me and the mister watched The Avengers here on a weekend, late in the afternoon.  We bought our tickets about 30 minutes before the start of the movie, we were still able to get tickets and get decent seats.  Not too shabby.  The seats were nice, the sound system and picture quality is good.  It is one of my go to theaters when I watch a movie in the OC.

Mangers are slightly rude when dealing with complaints. Let me explain. Went here with a friend bought tickets with a gift certificate, even though we bought tickets an hour in advance they forgot to tell us that the movie wasn't working. So we sat and got snacks and just waited for the movie, 30 minutes later the movie should have started we finally went out to figure out why it wasn't playing. We were refunded tickets but with a coupon that expired.... i didn't check the date because i assumed it would be good for at least a month (even though i think they should have just reissued a gift certificate to me) so basically they took my money and i never got to see a movie for what i paid them. Yet i still wasted and hour and a half of my time in which i could have just seen a different movie.

I have been back since that experience and the door people seem to be nicer. Seats are okay, and they do have some 3D showings.

I came here to watch Breaking Dawn before going to Disneyland just to unwind from the drive. I thought it was going to be busy but it was nice that it wasn't . The movie theater is decorated in a old Hollywood theme. It is very clean and uncrowded but I went around 10am so I didn't expect night time crowds.

They also offer a frequent buyer program but you have to pay $6.00 for the card. I passed on it because I mostly live by Regal theaters and their frequent buyer card is free.

I went to this theater when it was first built and I was still living in Southern California, and recently, when I was back visiting my parents, I found it still to be as clean and awesome as the first time I visited.

My mother and I went to see Moneyball for the 10:15 Monday night showing.  Keep in mind that Downtown Disney is really at the beck and call of the resort and Monday night...not a busy movie night when it's not summer time.

My mom and I proceeded to attend a private showing - not one other soul joined us in the 500-seat auditorium and we watched an *excellent* movie as if we were in our own private living room - I was able to chat with and explain to my mom certain aspects of baseball (she is not a fan) but the movie (for those of you who've seen this Aaron Sorkin-written movie) does not require baseball knowledge to be enjoyed.

As we walked out of the theater (it was eerily quiet - after midnight and no one was around (either they forgot we were there, or they trusted us to simply leave and the doors would auto-lock), I was immensely grateful for such a luxury a one mile walk from my parents' home.

First class seats, theaters, and concessions.

Big movie buff but not impressed. Being at this location on a slow weekday yesterday noon it was bad service and made my whole experience faultered. I ate wings that day and was disappointed in their quality at that restaurant and then came to see a movie with my date and it was just the icing on the cake. I normally go to amc at the block but thought this would be better. I was wrong.

If you want to see a really popular movie at a less crowded theater, even on opening weekend, come here.  For some reason, it's never packed.  It may seem like a hassle to have to drive to Downtown Disney, but it's not. Parking is free (with validation) and the walk is just like parking far away at a busy theater.  This is my new favorite place to watch movies.

Yes, the tickets are more expensive than your standard theater, but for a couple dollars more you don't have to deal with the typical movie crowds. As many before me have said, this theater is very clean and not as crowded. I came to watch a movie on a Saturday night and there were less than 15 people sitting in the same theater as me. I had plenty of choices for seating and you could even rest your legs on the seat in front of you if you really wanted to! I felt like I was just watching another movie at home, except with a bigger screen and better sound system. I could tell everyone else around me felt just as comfortable as I did. The chairs really were comfy, by the way.

Not a fancy theater considering it's in Downtown Disney, but it's definitely comfortable and relaxing than other theaters. I think it's perfect for a date night.

This place is great for premieres because it's never busy or crowded (inside)  People don't come to downtown disney to watch movies.  Also, if you came too early, it's nice to walk around and look at the interesting shops or peek in the garden.  There's usually an outdoor performance going on too.  Parking is a drag, but first 2 or 3 hours are free.

This is my theater of choice as of late, since I'm always in the area and I get discount tickets.

Nestled in a quiet corner of Downtown Disney, right by all the parking, this theater is always clean, and the staff is quite friendly. It's also rarely crowded. I don't know if it's just because I usually go see movies early, or because most people heading in that direction either make a turn right for the parking lot, or are going to the hotel, but I've had the theater completely to myself before. The most people I've seen is maybe 4-5 other groups.

I always try to take advantage of the $6 matinee for movies before 11:55 AM. You still have to pay the $4 extra if you're watching a 3D movie though, but nevertheless, I think it's a great deal.

I don't usually park in the Downtown Disney parking lot, but it's great that it's free for the first 3 hours, and you can get more if you validate.

The concessions are a little on the pricey side, but what movie theater doesn't jack up the prices? They do have a wide selection of food though, from hot foods to snacks to ice cream, and of course the standard popcorn and soda.

This theater has really turned me into a going-to-the-movies kinda person. I used to only rarely go to movies. Now I even got myself a Stubs card! They were doing a half price promotion on the joining fee, so that helped. It's nice that even the gold and silver tickets, as well as food, count when building up the rewards.

Now I won't ever have to be that guy that's always left out when everyone's discussing new movies anymore! But I'll still have to catch up on all the unseen old movies that people always reference... Haha.

Closest I ever got to Disneyland (yes, I've never been to Disneyland the 24 years I've been living here). This theatre is HUGE. We came here to watch Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2 in 3D and the room was practically empty. I don't know if it's cause it was early (10:30AM) or people don't come here to watch movies.

Customer service was outstanding. Word of advice, validate those parking stubs!

Like others have noted...my first pick for watching movies.

I try to come here after 7 PM and park in the Downtown Disney lot.  I love that I don't have to pay for parking either thanks to validation!

This movie theatre has the friendliest staff. It is also EXTRA CLEAN, not full of boppers (teenagers) and not too fancy or overpriced like Arclight Theatres.

Plus, if you want to go eat something before or after, there are a lot of choices.

I like that when I go to the movies...downtown disney gives that extra pizzazz on date night. The hustle and bustle of people, the faux city look and if the movie lets out before 9:30 PM - a great viewing of Disneyland's fireworks. Plus there's the churros, Haagen Daaz and Kettle Corn to share with the lover.

This was my theatre of choice for the Harry Potter: DH2 premiere! I personally loved that they opened up multiple stadiums for the premiere. Customer service was very good, employees are friendly and smiling.

The stadium I was in (I believe it was number 5) was HUGE! The biggest one I've been in so far. The seats are amazingly comfortable, I even took a nap for a couple hours! (We got there 4 hours early haha, it got tiring waiting for the movie to start)

Awesome theatre, I definitely recommend it to anybody in the area.

The theater is always clean and smells like delicious popcorn!  And on top of that your next to the happiness place on earth you can just feel the positive vibe. :] It is also attached to many different Retail Stores and Restaurants that you can browse through or grab a non or alcoholic beverages while you wait for your next movie.

Great atmosphere to be in wouldn't go any where else!

    Yayyyyy I like this theatre.

Stadium seating. Good sound. Current movies. Wide selection of movie times. In Downtown Disney so there are plenty of convenient places to eat. Free parking with validation. Super clean. Really nice bathrooms. Quiet and extremely unpopulated, which makes it super easy to find and secure the perfect seats.

I can't imagine that this place turns a profit, but for my sake I'm glad that it exists and is kept in such good condition. Definitely the best theatre I've found in the area thus far.

Online, this is the first theater that I look to see what times the shows are playing.

This is the theater I prefer to go to.  Although the parking can be a little chaotic during peak times whether you are coming in or going out.

The facility is pretty clean and the staff are friendly.  And I feel that the area (Downtown Disney) makes people feel welcomed and safe.

Every time I think about Anaheim, it is mainly oranges and Disneyland. I didn't even know there was a theater in Downtown Disney but yes it is here and it is a super clean, friendly and a fun place to go.

I was also happy because even though the tickets are $12.00 I get to use my season pass and get it for 20% off. Which made my ticket cost $9.00!! Yea I like it I get free parking, pay less for my tickets and sit in very comfortable seats with large movie screenings.

Also this place was oh not at all packed and I was able to pick where ever I felt like sitting. So it is a bonus!

Also the ladies bathroom is super cute. :) I think this would be a great place to take a date and just watch a movie and eat a dinner here! Try it out. :)

This is always my first pick for movie-going.

It's not big nor fancy, but it's not crowded, dirty, or filled with annoying teenagers. There are always plenty of seatings, even to know shows. Another bonus is that it's located inside Downtown Disney! I usually buy the kettle corn selling outside and bring (..sneak..) it into the theater.

Bring your parking ticket so you can get validated!

Wowza!  We took a half-day break from Disneyland to see Puss in Boots here, and we were blown away by how swank this theater is!  It is definitely more expensive than we're used to, but worth it.  The lobby is huge and beautiful, the stadium seating in the theaters is fantastic, and the bathrooms are so luxurious you'll feel like a movie star yourself!  Add to this the fact that it never seems to be crowded.  Seeing a movie here is an just an exceptional experience, totally on par with the beauty and attention to detail that goes into all things Disney.

This review is for 03/26/2011. The FINAL REVIEW FOR THE DAY. While being in Downtown Disney, I didn't want my Saturday to end just hanging around. I had my AMC Silver Tickets and decided to go watch Battle: Los Angeles.

Originally, we had a busy day that we didn't want to bother with the movies, but with the I-5 traffic on the way back to Los Angeles at 7pm might be a bad idea. So, we had to buy some time. We took the Battle Los Angeles screening at 7:30pm. With Disney on the property, a lot of kids were in line waiting to see....Rango. When it was my turn, I gave the red head lady the look of frustration because she couldn't stand those kids' changing their minds...lol. They do have electronic kiosks if you decided to use those if AMC has long lines.

If you parked at the Downtown Disney Parking lot, you can get 2 extra hours of free parking with AMC stamping your ticket when you give your ticket to the Ticket Taker. This theatre has only 12 screens. I thought with 12 screens and a two week old movie, AMC would have a smaller screen. I was wrong. Theatre/Auditorium 12 was pretty big. I'd say you could fit in 250-300 people in there. The chairs are comfortable, but your head is exposed. Some chairs hide your head...lol. I like that especially when there are snipers or guns shooting in the movie. Screen was very good with no major problems or defects.

Our movie ended around 9:30pm. After being in the movie for 2 hours, you have to use the restroom. There is only one restroom area and you have to go to the other side of the theatre towards Auditorium 1-7. The bathroom have plenty of stalls, but it would be nice if there were two sets of restrooms. Just a suggestion.

It was pretty good to get this AMC Theatre off my list since I love to visit any AMC. Too bad AMC didn't send me my Free AMC Stubs (formerly AMC Moviewatcher) Membership on Friday instead of Saturday while I was OUT...lol. Its always bad timing with Ryan. I am almost closing the gap though....Disney....I am done with you for the night, but I hope you'll open your doors again for my next visit for Disneyland/California Adventure.

This is probably the theatre I frequent the most, since i get a discount. I'm personally a big fan of AMC theatres in general. my only gripe with this particular one is the lack of bathrooms. theres like, 2 total. and thats fine at 4pm on tuesday, but for nights, and especially premier nights, you better hop in the bathroom line half an hour before the point of pissing in your pants. or you'll be effed.

also the rows of seats are really close, so youre gonna get stepped on, and someone is gonna kick your chair while walking by. and the chairs have a lot of give when it comes to leaning back, which is nice for comfort, but it means you move forward again at the slightest touch from someone behind. they also done have a lower age limit rule. which sucks.

A couple of years ago, I traveled to Disneyland.  During one of my days, I got a little bit board for the parks, and so, for a few hours, I realized there was a theater complex in Downtown Disney.  This was the theater I was thinking about.  Although seats were not cheap, the quality of the seats and seating locations made up for the increased cost of the tickets.  One major drawback, although there was a booth where I could have bought my tickets, they have their own separate kiosk outside(electronic-digital) which took my order(felt this was cool, and totally different, as compared to my local theater not having these kiosks.

Coming closer to kick-off time for the movie, I went inside with no problems.

When I got in through the theater doors, I was amazed to find something not found elsewhere.  First of all, not only are all these rows tiered, but on one side, there are steps that make the seats sit comfortably above one another(so the person in front, won't get in your way when the movie comes.)  These steps do contain separate lights on them, to illuminate your walk, but only on motion, will these activate, and can be found at the forward-going upward edge of the step.)  Be careful not to trip on the step, as there is a little piece hanging down from each of the steps.  You'll realize this, the first time you go in and seat yourself down on your chair.

Second, all the seats were covered in a cloth-like fabric(almost like the cloth they use on cloth-seats in new cars.)  That was spectacular.  I can finally now see my movie without having to look over top of someone's head without squinching my head between people.

Not only that, but the chairs were about 1 1/2 times as big, as your standard theater seat is.  However, I did not find a place to put sodas, but I guess there are, for those who attend often, to this theater.

If you would have followed the strip accross to the other side, I found a handicapped-accessible walkway.

For those who wanted to have to look upwards at your movie, you can take those same stairs downwards and arrive at too-close proximity seating.

If you ended up being one of those in the front seats, you have an extra layer of precaution.  They have an extra railing that split the two seating areas apart.

i found only one other problem.  Going in and out of the theater outside the door to the movie-to-be-seen, the aisles are a bit short&stubby&and make some quick turns.  A grand area to receive phone calls and still not be able to be seen by theater staff(of which I figured out.)

Prices for theater concession items were very high: either smuggle the candy in from Disneyland, or don't bring any!  I never did buy popcorn, but being standard concession fair for all movie theaters nationwide, prices were probably right on average with most higher-end movie theaters.

(Not that it mattered, but I saw an early afternoon ticketing for the movie "Wall-E".)

Even though there are tons of theatres all over Long Beach, I would rather drive the 14 miles and come to the AMC at Downtown Disney.

    Here's why:

    1. If you don't have an annual pass and have to park at Downtown Disney parking is free for the first 3 hours and then with a validation and additional 2 hours for free.

    2.  Planet Popcorn has the most amazing caramel and kettle corn for sale a short walk away from the ticket booth of the theatre.

    3.  It's never been overly crowded or over run by teenagers actin' a fool (damn I sound old right now)

    4.  The staff has always been polite, the restrooms are always extremely clean and they have Coke Zero in the fountain.

All in all it's always an enjoyable experience watching movies here.

When you want to see a Disney film in the middle of Disney ambiance, this may be the best place to go outside of El Capitan in Hollywood.

I know, this isn't my usual type of review, but let me tell you the story...

I had been emailing, then texting, then calling this guy I met on-line (I know, I don't date on-line anymore. We just moved to phone calls in a random exchange of emails as I was closing my account). We finally met in person in August, and after just a few dates, his birthday approached, yet it was midweek and he had no plans. Nothing makes me more sad that to hear that someone is not going to celebrate their birthday just because it's midweek. So, I insisted on taking him out to the place of his choice, got some cake samples from Phoenix Bakery in Chinatown (in usual yelp style, I will review this next), and a few balloons, and here comes the movie theater review...

What he really wanted to do was see a movie. And, he wanted to see Toy Story 3, but had not been able to because no one would go with him. Downtown Disney was one of the only places it was showing (no longer at El Capitan). So, off we went.

The movie theater and downtown Disney had convenient parking, lots of restaurant options, a live musical performance, cute gift shops, and a comfortable theater. The movie was cute, and the company was cuter. Enough said for this review. :)

AMCs are generally pretty new with all the new tech stuff installed. Service is also good and stadium seating is always a plus. Of course, pricing is steep. Last time I went it was $16.50 to see a 3-D film and $18.50 to see IMAX 3D. WHOA.
However, if you buy the AMC tickets via Costco, then they are $8 per film (old and new) and usually an addition $3 for 3D and additional $5 (i think?) for IMAX. which is still cheaper than actual tickets. So just go to Costco (or bribe a friend who has a card) and get some of the sale tickets.

The only reason i am giving this place a 4 is because the food options in the theaters have gone beyond over-priced and is just getting ridiculously expensive (I don't think you can get anything under $10 bucks anymore). You are better off going to Walmart beforehand and getting their candy (theater size) for 50% of their price.

Be smart, pre-shop before you go to the theaters. I guarantee you it will save you a good chunk of movie and therefore you won't feel THAT bad if you see a shitty movie. Trust me, I know. :D

If you are going to catch a flick early this is one of the better places to go because of their matinee prices. I like that it is at the beginning of D-Town Disney so you don't have to walk through the rest of the tourist drag of goofballs.

Take a big purse so you can sneak in your drinks/snacks. They don't give a shit if you bought coffee from right next door or a juice from Jamba down the way. They will make you toss your drinks/snacks...yes even though you may have bought them directly from the D-Town Disney area.

Another thing I love is that it has never been crowded when I go.

Went here to watch "The Fighter"...first off that movie is amazingly good, loved it! Great acting by two brilliant actors, great story line...oh wait im supposed to be reviewing the venue not the movie huh...ok on to the point.

But onto the review on the venue! First off its at down town disney, its always packed around here, but coming here on a friday night I was telling myself this is going to be insane...downtown disney...friday night...premiere night for movies...but to my surprise, when we got there it was actually not bad at all. Waited behind two people to purchase our tickets.

Once we got inside, we wanted popcorn, and there were three cashiers open, we ordered our popcorn, filled it up with the do it yourself butter...dash of salt and heres one of the reasons I gave this theater 5 stars. They had packets of tapatio!!!! And seriously, I mentioned it in my review for the pump room, popcorn with tapatio, is pretty http://bomb.com!

Other than that I love this theater, it's really spacious, its clean and what not. The best thing what I loved after you watch the movie, is if your an annual pass holder. There's your next trip after the movie!

First time seeing a movie in downtown Disney!  Of course, I'd normally prefer to do other things while I'm down here, ie:  go to Disneyland, hehe.  Le bf wanted to see a movie though, so we went.  Very nice clean theater, it does have that Disney je ne sais quoi going on in here... has kinda like a classic movie theater flair.  The bathrooms are very spacious and nice.  Had the classic look there too w/the Disney touch.

The guy at the food counter was pretty nice.  When I showed him my disney pass to try to get a discount on my snacks, he told me  unfortunately, they don't take it here..but they did take it when we purchase tickets and asked if I had done that when I purchased mine -  good customer service.  He also asked what I was watching tonight and started chatting a lil bout the movie...this was all while he was just slashing my card, no need for the extra chit chat, but totally appreciated it.

I think all the screens are digital projection?  They seem a lil smaller than normal though.

    Still, great AMC theater!

19 out of 20 times this is So Cal's second best theater. Next to the Arclight of course! It is surprising how this has stayed such a hidden gem. Always clean, almost always Hood Rat free and Theaters 5 and 10 are almost Imax worthy!

After a day and half of babysitting all I wanted was some peace...enter AMC.....Earth was playing, and thank goodness it was. I dragged those two terrors into the movie theater and sat them in the  movie....I enjoyed 2 hours of almost peace....I mean, it is a theater in Disneyland, so there were tons of children talking and asking questions during the movie....but still....total savior!
The theater was large and clean, staff was friendly, and the women's bathroom is HUGE, with a plush couch.....really, a nice little escape.
Thank you AMC for being here and saving me from 2 more hours of running, screaming childcare.

This was my boyfriend's and my favorite place to watch a movie up until all the punks that plagued the Block started coming here too. Now theres a lot of youngsters with their friends when before, there wasn't. We were both like darn they discovered this AMC. =/ Other than that, it is a great place to watch a movie and you could even walk around DTD while you wait. It is also a good choice if you are bringing a little one.

I love Uno's pizza.  Oh wait, this is a review for AMC in DT Disney?  That's right.  Oh, I got it right...I love Uno's pizza.  Depending on the AMC you attend, they offer different 'extras.'   Of course, the staple of the popcorn and soda, but different AMC's offer questionable hot dogs, nachos, bon-bon's, etc.

This AMC offers one of the more popular chicago-style pizza.  Yeah, it's pretty crummy, the way they only offer thin crust, pepperoni or cheese, sure it's not that great, but hey, I'll take what I can get from Uno's.  There is no Uno's Pizzeria in the greater OC/LA area.  Closes would be in San Diego.  So, for a girl who's in love with Uno's, going to AMC in dt disney is but a small taste of the chicago-esque pizza.

Okay, and this is going to be way lame of me to say, but I'm a Coca Cola fan.  And if you go to an actual Pizzeria Uno's, it's a Pepsi-world.  No bueno for Ags.  At AMC, you get the best of both worlds (queue Hanna Montana song) in which you can have Coke (or Diet Coke), and an Uno's personal pizza.  Not bad.  Not bad at all.

Oh yeah...and AMC.  Well, it's a standard AMC.  You purchase your tickets in the stand alone building, and walk into the theaters just behind it.  Personally, I think the walls are thicker at AMC's in general, as I am unable to hear any of the noise that's going on in the next theater over.  Bueno.  Free refills on the large popcorn, and drink bucket (yes, you're practically drinking out of a bucket).

If you do manage to get one of those Silver or Gold coupons that they have for a movie...a downfall, is that they can't be used online.  Booo.

Small theater but a great place to put your feet up and relax.

It's nice and clean and the seats are very comfortable.
