So Im usually not one to review (which is pretty lame considering I'm on Yelp), but I speak up when I feel compelled to. I was actually told about  this place by my hair stylist, who told me to try the Californian.

Okay, I've had all of the typical 'sandwich' shops but this literally blew them out of the water. Sure the restaurant is small, and there's a wait ( as they are preparing the sandwich), but once I got back to my air conditioned job, I could not believe how good it was. I'd suggest getting the 10 inch, as its just a dollar more. I will definitely be back.

I got the first sandwich listed under "specialties" I can't remember the name of it, but whatever you call it, the main ingredient that I tasted most prominently in my sandwich was love. This is one of those places that can take a seemingly average sandwiched and make it awesome

    I had such high hopes.....

I mean a indie sandwich shop in SD? Sign me up!

So the ladies working there were really nice and the prices weren't bad at all....

The sandwich on the other hand....

It was pretty skinny.....and the roll itself was covered in some bakery powder that's a little like sandpaper when you touch it.

The meat itself was a bit chewy and there was a bit of cartilage....

I did not like the Teriyaki sauce. Others do so I guess that's just me. I thought it was nastily sweet.

I will go back to try something else though. Even though that was their signature sandwich.

My girlfriend took me here and I'm glad she did. I've driven past this little place, located in a small center at the corner of Arrow Highway and San Dimas Avenue so many times, I can't believe I missed it.

What I would have missed are the delectable sandwiches, my favorite of which is the Tuna Diet. My friend turned me on to the Diet Sandwich. I'm not sure why they call it that, but I can't believe a tuna sandwich could be so tasty. It's fresh and light, but still fills you up without you feeling heavy afterward.

    Yum:)

There aren't many sandwich places in the area besides quiznos, blimpies and subway. And I was happy to find this one. Its a small sandwich  shop but they have a lot to offer. They only have a few tables maybe 6 or so.

I always get the Tuna Diet sandwich. it is soooo delicious. It has sprouts and avocado which are definitely a plus in my book, because I have this great love for sprouts in my sandwiches. I'm all about the different textures!

If you are looking for a new sandwich place to try, drop on by! Not only do they have sandwiches they have teriyaki bowls as well.

The ladies that work here are very sweet and they really know their regular customers.

There are only 2 things that I want Ambro's to change:
    1) be open on Sunday!
    2) more inside seating

Other than that, the ladies who work here are incredibly gracious, and the variety of food items on the menu cannot be beat.  I love this place.  As a starving student again, I appreciate mmmmm good healthy food at great prices.

Nice little hole in the wall deli in a strip mall between a donut shop and a Mexican place.  We were originally headed to the Mexican place but they had stopped serving breakfast so in to Ambro's, next door.

It's tiny, maybe 5 small tables.  Mostly a deli style menu but also burgers and a few Korean dishes, reflecting the owner's ethnicity.

I had a basic roast beef, turkey and provolone sandwich on a French roll.  Very tasty, savory, and the bread was about perfect.  My wife had a teriyaki chicken bowl which she enjoyed.

Not a lot of atmosphere, no a/c, but a lot of old National Geographics to thumb through while you eat.

Summing up, great food in a bare-bones setting at a great price.  If the dining room is not to your liking, take your food to go and have a picnic at one of the many nice parks nearby.

MMm... Sammmiiiicch! This place is bomb! I can say that everything so far has been delicious! I've tried the California (turkey, avocado, bacon & swiss), Pastrami, bacon, and cheese, the Famous (ham, turkey, roast beef, avocado, and swiss)... all good!

Today I'm trying the Nervous Wreck (ham, roast beef, dry salami, cotto salami, mortadella and cheese... mmm.... The service is great. I usually call before I go and its ready in 5 minutes. The prices are good. A large 10'' is around $6.29. Small is around $5.29..

They also have hot sandwiches, burgers, Teriyaki, Korean BBQ, salads, soups and other things. A must try if your hungry!

I really like how Ambro's has something for everyone on their menu; I get my sandwich and my husband can order a teriyaki bowl.

Their Tuna Diet Sandwich is so freaking good.  I've never seen a sandwich like it at other sandwich shops.

Most delicious sandwiches ever. Much better than Subway. The place is very small and you wait a few minutes while they make your sandwich, but it's worth it in every way because they're SO good. They use a homemade dressing on the sandwiches and it is amazing.

This is by far the best place for sandwich's in the area. Why anyone would go to a Subway or Blimpie's ever again is beyond me. The price is right and their sandwich's ROCK! They do serve plenty of other items, but I've only had their sandwich's so I can't speak to anything else on the menu.

The bread is soft and fresh, the meat is cold and cut, and the lettuce and tomato is light and easy(which I like)

I like sandwiches with soft rolls, not the hard crusted kind that are full of air. Soft and dense is what I love and that's what Ambro's has.

I like my sandwich's with lettuce and tomato, but not the entire head of lettuce nor a whole tomato. Ambro's has the perfect portion of both.

Plenty of mayo, mustard, oil, seasoning and a healthy portion of avocado.

You will be pleasantly surprised by this little hole-in-the-wall. If you're going during the lunch hour, call ahead and place your order over the phone. If you've never been before, Get the Ambro's Famous to start with and then take a menu with you for next time.

    Enjoy.

I'm surprised no one's rated this place yet...esp those who work in the area.  They've been there for years.  They specialize in mostly sandwiches (hot and cold), but their menu is extensive...variety of teriyaki bowls, salads, hamburgers, fries, fish n'chips, even Korean bbq...they even have homemade kimchee on hand for those who know their Korean food well!!!

My favorite sandwich is the Ambros California...turkey, bacon, avocado, sprouts, provelone cheese, french roll...good sized and delicious.  Their Chinese Chicken Salad is surprisingly good, too...marinated chicken breast, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes, peanuts, wonton strips, homemade ginger sesame dressing...sounds pretty basic, but the combination keeps me a fan.  All the bowls, esp. their Korean bbq is good and inexpensive for the portions they serve.

Friendly service, although sometimes it's hard to get passed the accent.  They take phone orders and they're usually right on target.

This place is yummy and priced well.  Even better you can get Kalbi and Bulgogi at a sub shop.  Everything is fresh and delicious!

Also, the prices are reasonable as well.

This is a great spot for sandwiches when you are in the area. Our offices are in the street, so when ever I had to be there for meetings we would order here for lunch. The sandwiches are freshly made and taste excellent.

I started going to Ambros when I use to work in the area.  My favorite sandwich of all has to be the Ambros Famous, which is one of their specialty sandwiches.    It has turkey, ham, roast beef and avocado, swiss cheese, lettuce, tomatoes on a fresh French roll.  It's oh so good!  Once you have one of their sandwiches, I don't think you will EVER want to go back to eating at Subways, Quizno's or Blimpie's.  Price wise, they are little more pricey than say, your typical Subway or Quizno's.  The 6 inch Ambro's Famous is $5.29.  For a dollar more you can get a 10 inch for $6.29.   Believe me, it is worth every penny!!  Ambro's also serves a large variety of  hot/cold sandwiches, burgers, and teriyaki bowls/plates, KOREAN BBQ, salads and soups.   This little place definitely has a little something for everyone.

Good deals and good service. Very nice ladies. Try the California and the Famous sandwiches. I think they are the best in San Dimas.
