I was looking for a really good photographer in the Brooklyn area that didn't charge an arm and a leg, but was still awesome. With Amber, my family got exactly that, plus WAY more. She was so fun and down to earth - it was impossible to not feel comfortable in front of her camera. She was literally rolling around in the leaves with my baby and dog just to get good shots!
I just received the disk in the mail from her today I and I am so happy with all of the amazing pictures. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone I know. -

I NEVER thought I'd do maternity photos. I personally find them to be cheesy and just plain weird (google "weird pregnancy photos" and you'll see what I mean). However, I wanted some photos of my husband and me at this special time, so I decided to look for a local photographer that we clicked with.
Amber was really, really great to work with. From scheduling a date to delivering the processed photos, Amber was super responsive and an absolute joy to work with! I really can't state this strongly enough - after working with various photographers for weddings, etc, Amber was such a nice change of pace!
The pictures turned out great, and we had a lot to choose from. Not all of them were perfect, but I like that Amber only edited out the ones with closed eyes, leaving it to us to choose which shots we liked the best - I often find that photographers will select the technically best shots, which are not necessarily the most attractive shots or the ones that best reflect the people in the photos.
The photo shoot itself went very smoothly - we had a lot of fun with Amber taking photos in our apartment and in our neighborhood. It felt much more like spending an hour with a friend than having our picture taken (and that's saying a lot, as my husband HATES pictures). I also like that Amber totally respected my request for less traditional maternity photos, but also encouraged me to take some shots I may not have otherwise done - all of which I'm extremely happy with upon review.
All and all, I'm a very happy customer - Amber did a great job of capturing our li'l family. I would not hesitate to hire her in the future or recommend her for a photo shoot or event! -

Great experience...and I just passed Amber's information along to a friend. I booked a special portrait session and was amazed at the time, attention, and skill Amber put towards the afternoon.
My (rather amazing if I do say so myself) photos arrived edited as promised just a few short weeks later, and I could NOT believe how many options she gave me.
Really so pleased, and can't wait to think of another reason to work with Amber! -

Ok, so I suffer from permanent bitchface. it's quite possible I mean mugged the doctor when I was born. Amber got me to do something unheard of for me in photos, SMILE.
Not my usual painful "Why are you asking me to smile? This is awkward for us both" smile, but a real genuine relaxed smile...some of the photos I'm even giving you teeth.
She takes amazing photos and I've never felt so comfortable around anyone wielding a camera before.... -

Here's the thing about Amber Marlow Photography: you're not just getting photos, you're getting an amazing person. Someone that truly cares a lot about the person, thing, animal, edible she's photographing. Her photos feel so genuine because she is so genuine.
Amber took some headshots of me for her Blogger Special, and I was amazed. In twenty minutes, she had me easily smiling, tilting my head in the most flattering directions, giggling, trying out different accessories & background options and heights at which to take photos. Amber is truly skilled at making you comfortable in front of the camera and creating a variety of beautiful, useful photos in a short (or longer) period of time. -

I had Amber take some headshots for me in March 2011. She was very professional, while making me still feel really comfortable.
The photos are beautiful and I feel that they are a very accurate representation of me. I would highly recommend Amber to anyone looking to get professional photographs taken.

Amber took amazing photos of my food products that i am using on the website and to promote everywhere else.
The styling is amazing, the way the products look, I can't wait to have more things for her to shoot.

Amber is not only a talented photographer - she is also incredibly skilled at making folks feel comfortable in front of a camera. I'm not very photogenic, and I usually avoid being on the business end of a camera as much as possible, but Amber actually made me look - and feel! - spectacular.
My portrait session couldn't have been more fun, and the results couldn't have been better. Two thumbs up! -

We had such an awesome experience with Amber! She was professional, punctual, and prepared (paint and wipes). She made us feel really comfortable in a somewhat awkward situation :)
We did an outdoor paint session (we covered ourselves in paint for the camera) in December. We wanted to make sure we ruined the least amount of clothes so he wore a t-shirt and jeans and I a summer dress. It was FREEZING. Amber was super efficient in her direction and very considerate when it was time to wrap up. She documented the entire process from no paint to absolutely covered. It was really fun and the pictures were great! She did a great job at making non graceful moments (shivering) look awesome on camera. We got a CD with a huge number of pictures and are very happy with them. Thanks Amber! -

I'm a small business owner who had been using a four-year-old photo from my wedding day in all of my online branding. (What can I say? Best hair day ever!) When I decided to step things up a notch with my business, my husband encouraged me to get professional headshots taken, and someone on Twitter recommended Amber.
My experience with Amber was fantastic. She's so warm and bubbly and, despite the fact that I'm incredibly shy, she immediately put me at ease. I didn't feel at all awkward during our photo shoot, and the smiles she yanked out of me were completely genuine.
I'm sort of in love with my photos. They make me smile. I haven't seen such nice photos of myself since... well... my wedding day! -

We had a really lovely photo shoot with Amber in the fall of 2010 -- an afternoon rambling around Central Park finding creative fun places to shoot with me, my husband and our little dog Walter. Amber has an easy going and open personality that makes it easy to get comfortable in front of the camera. I was surprised to find out later we were actually her first paying customers because she was so professional and the quality of the shoot was so good. We are super pleased with how the shoot came out and used the shots for our holiday cards. I look forward to working with Amber again in the future

We are so glad we hired Amber to do our family photo shoot! She was the nicest, most laid-back, fun person we could have found. She made us feel totally comfortable and not awkward, just like having a friend do a photo shoot. And she charmed our 6-month-old baby, making him laugh, smile, and look at the camera. I was nervous beforehand about how it would go with a baby, but she was really fantastic with him and never tired of making funny faces to get him to smile. She also let us reschedule when we had initially booked for a day that turned out to be incredibly hot and that I was worried would be really hard for our babe. I really appreciated her consideration in doing that. We recently got our pictures back and there are some great ones in there. I love that she gave us tons of shots to choose from and let us browse them to find our favorites. Her price was right for us (I was looking for someone with competitive pricing) and I feel like we totally got our money's worth. I would recommend her highly, and in fact have already recommended her to friends!
