Called Albert and Jonathon on the recommendation of Step Ahead Carpets, the carpet company who originally sold us the carpets. We only had two small bedrooms to clean and they gave us a fair rate. They were able to schedule a cleaning the same week I called. They were professional, thorough, and efficient--in and out in less than an hour. The light-colored carpets look like brand new! They weren't the cheapest estimate, but I believe the work will extend the life of our carpets--very satisfied customer!

Over the past several years, I have had consistently fair service and excellent work from Ambassador Services.  They have cleaned our carpets, draperies, and upholstered furniture.

Most recently Albert sealed the flagstones in the back yard.  He checked back after several months and said the seal was not as good as he wanted.  He returned this week and completely resealed every flagstone again, with a new and more expensive--to his company--sealant.  All was done at completely no charge to me.  Albert guarantees his work, and he means it!

I am selling my house and used ambassador services to clean my carpets. I have to say I have used other companies and never been very satisfied. My carpets almost look new. I would highly recommend them if you want the very best job done!!!!  Oh and they give a money back guarantee.

Used Ambassador Services for scotchguarding, cleaning grout, and sealing a bathroom floor.  Here's a run down of my experience.

Albert gives an estimate a variety of projects at our home.  I call him back after he provides the estimates asking  him a) to do 2 of the 5 items quoted and b) whether he would honor a coupon that I had received in the mail.  He stated yes to both.  I'm clear on the first item as I was planning to split the work as some of my furniture had not arrived.

He shows up.  First thing that he states is that he was under the impression that he was doing all of the items on the estimate.  (Huh?) He then states that his minimum is really $500 (up from the $250 that he originally quoted me.)  Shockingly, he states that he can't honor the coupon because of this "minimum."  BTW, this minimum is not published on either his website or his coupon.

Okay, not too concerned about the $100 off provided that the work is done well so long as he can fix the stains on my grout.  I showed him the wall and was clear that we expected the grout to be substantially cleaned.  At this stage, Albert says okay.  He then proceeds to get setup completely.  I leave and Albert then tells my wife (after I leave) that he might not be able to get all of the stains out.  He then asks her whether she should proceed.  Of course, having not been a part of the conversations, she says yes.

I get back to find a wall that's only marginally better than what we had started with (and a stone floor that looks much worse).  I pay Albert dispite being dissatisfied with the service. (This was really my error.)

I call Albert back 1 week later and express dissatisfaction with the outcome and he he was not willing to do anything about it.   Did not offer to come out again, did not offer to honor the coupon, and certainly did not offer "my money back" as claimed on his coupon.

Albert's a nice, savvy guy and a good salesperson.  That said, he's pretty unconcerned about the actual outcome from his work.  The only reason that I'm not giving him 1 star is that he clearly was able to "cover" himself by making the disclaimer to my wife.

If you're going to look past this review, my suggestions would be:

1 - Once you get an estimate, ask for clarity on his minimum.

2 - Ask him to clarify what his "100% satisfaction guaranteed or your money back" means.  In my case, it did not mean anything.

3 - Be 100% clear on the outcome that you are expecting and what happens if that outcome is not achieved.  Make sure that you do this at the time of the estimate.

4 - Pay by credit card.

All of the above fall under Contractor Management 101, but I probably was less proactive than I should have been given all of the rave reviews on Yelp!

Ambassador Services cleaned my carpets last year and I was very pleased with the outcome. We have light colored carpets and they came so very clean. He was even able to get some stains out that were left by some leaking terra cotta pots that we had on the carpet. After he cleaned the carpets with the truck mount steam cleaning system, he used a special machine with a terry towel attached. This not only absorbed extra water so the the carpets dried faster, it also took up additional dirt. I have never seen this done before and was impressed with the care he took to go the extra mile. I also understand that he is highly recommended for Natural Stone Cleaning and Sealing. In fact he is the one that comes out to fix the problems when his competitors have had problems with natural stone

History

Established in 1980

This message was written by Albert Ong.

I started in 1980 as a janitorial services firm in San Francisco. At the time, Sharper Image, Laurel Birch, Banana Republic, were all under our cleaning contracts. After some time, we expanded into the carpet cleaning industry for the upper end clientele. We are one of the most knowledgeable carpet cleaning companies in the bay area
because of experience, state of the art equipment, and continuing educations within our field; even after 32 years.

In 1990, natural stone started becoming popular in the Bay area. We took many stone cleaning and restoration courses and seminars to become one of the most premier stone restoration company in our area. After much training and practice, we launched a new company that specializes in Stone cleaning, restoration, and maintenance -"Prostone Services" We are a unique company that gives satisfaction guarantee, or your money back.

My name is Albert Ong. Being in a business for 30 years puts you in about every situation theres been; I've seen it all. I am from Indonesia and since a young age, my father owned one of the largest shipping companies in Southeast Asia; ever since then I knew I wanted to become a business owner. Although not given the opportunity, I decided to seek out my own success in America. At the age of 18 I came here speaking no english and having no close family relatives. I finished my education and graduated high school from Menlo High and joined the U.S. Air Force to serve my country, then, continued to finish my education with a degree in Business Admin from San Francisco State.
