Good Indian!
The conversation usually goes like this. My bf: "You want easy Indian or good Indian?
I still order the same dishes as I would at the easy Indian place, (Priya). But I when I order the Tiki Masala I can choose my level of heat. The hotter the better! Portions are generous. And when I am in the mood to experiment I always select from the appetizer list.
As for atmosphere...
One time, it was so quiet there my bf and I were entertained by the couple next to us who was on their first date after being set up through http://Match.com... highly entertaining! Great destination for a first date! Dates can get a good look at each other under the bright lights. -

Great lunch buffet. if you aren't familiar with indian food, this is a wonderful way to experiment and become comfy. Good, attentive service.
DInners are wonderful. A nice place to go out for the evening.
They also do wonderful catering..... -

We've been fans of Ambassador for years, but to be honest, they are pricey and the quality of the food has slipped a bit.
The last few times we've ordered, the food has been underseasoned and in one recipe (the saag), the spices (cardamom) are ground into the dish in too-large pieces so it is gritty and unpleasant. The pods should be left large so that the diner can remove them.
I'd like to see even the basic dishes, such as the Chicken Tikka, have the punch of flavor that they used to have there.
Service continues to be excellent and staff are lovely. -

Very, very good Indian food. Some of the best I've had. Try the Korma or Rogan Josh.
