    Good pizza, highly recommended.

Delivery was painless and the pizza arrived quickly and in very good condition.  I tried the SIQUEIRA pizza and was really pleased.  The crust on this style (they do a couple different crusts) was medium thick, with a nice rise.

Poorly skilled pizza makers can screw up with just two toppings, and this combo had nine toppings.  So I was a little nervous to see if they had the skill and experience to make it work.  Wow, they made it work beautifully.  I was very impressed with the skill and restraint that was apparent in their work, every one of the nine toppings was highlighted somehow.

Friendly service. HUGE pizza--got the web deal for a large, 2 topping for $13. Like many have said, the delivery guy was super-nice, good crust, and the toppings were very fresh, but I am not a fan of "sweet-tasting" tomato sauce on my pizza. If the sauce wasn't so sweet and a had a little more kick to it, this pizza would be really good. The tiramisu was good, too.

But, it is one of the best options (outside of Lanesplitters, who can be a pain to get take out from) in this area of town so I wouldn't say that I wouldn't use them again when I am too lazy to cook and don't mind eating pizza for 3 days straight.

    Aww sookie, sookie.

I found me a new late night pizza stop and I'm in love! I grabbed a slice of the vegetarian on a sustenance hunt to fill my boozed up belly. A glass stand with veg, meat, cheese, and Hawaiian was ready for the taking. My husband and I took our slices and proceeded next door for a beer. What's great about this place is the menu. There's a bazillion choices. I sunk my teeth into some layers of goodness--cheese layers, and veggie layers, followed by a nice crispy crust (and not one that breaks a tooth, man.) The slices are HUGE--can we say Blondie's brother from another lover, huge? Yes, we can. The ingredients were fresh and I could still taste the olives. Next time we go to art murmur, I'm so going here for my grub.

This is our new go to delivery spot for pizza. They have great specials on their website, and friendly staff. Pizza is just the right amount of greasy to be good when hot. Not great as a leftover meal, but leftovers are rarely left, so not that bad of a thing.

I've generally found that when Yelpers can reach a consensus, there's a reason for it. When there's a consensus that a place has bad delivery service, I can tell you from foolhardy firsthand experience that you had better not order delivery from that place!

For a more sensible change of pace, I decided to order delivery from Amazonas, which self-evidently has received pretty positive marks from the notoriously scrutinizing Yelp ranks. I saw they had a special listed on their website for a 2-topping large pizza for 12.99, so I was all set to order my usual pineapple and pepperoni. Then, something caught my eye on their topping list, as if for a split second it had glimmered, calling out to me, alerting me to its presence. Maybe the site used a well-timed blink tag. Who knows. The important thing is that that something was BACON!

"HOLD THE PEPPERONI!" I shouted (to myself, as I hadn't even picked up the phone at this point yet). "That pie is getting BACOFIED! Mmmmm-hmmm..."

Needless to say, I ordered a large bacon and pineapple pizza, and I was impressed to see it arrive well in advance of the 45-60 minute window I had been given. It was still piping hot when I opened the box, and everything about the pizza looked just right. Taking my first bite, it was actually still too hot (!!), but I knew I was in for a smooth ride the rest of the night. The bacon was perfectly chewy and crispy, the pineapple was sweet and juicy, and the sauce ..... the sauce is spectacular!

Enjoy the bounty of the rainforest at Amazonas Pizza! All the intrigue of a trip up that mighty mighty river, without the risk of a shrunken head or a piranha bite!

Ordered pizza delivery from Amazona's and got 2 pizzas: spinach & mushroom (there was a special going on for it for $12.99) and Hawaiian (I think it was $16.99 or $18.99 for a 16"?). The pizza came in ~45 minutes and the delivery guy didn't have any plates, napkins, utensils, or red pepper. Oh well. If I wasn't in the middle of working and using expensive machinery, I wouldn't really care. Thankfully my coworkers found some plates and napkins we had stashed somewhere.

The pizza itself was good though. The Hawaiian pizza didn't have an overload of cheese and I hate cheese so it was pretty easy to pick off (some utensils would've come in handy here...). I love crust, and the crust on their pizzas did not disappoint. Golden crunchy on the outside, but soft and chewy on the inside. Yum! I love the air bubbles too (am I the only one?) and each pizza definitely had a few of those.

Average pizza for an average price.  Nothing to complain about, but nothing to write home about either.

I wouldn't call this place a pizzeria, like I would Lanesplitter.  But rather, a place where you get a pizza to go, or delivered.

Came here once, based on the overwhelmingly strong reviews on Yelp.  It reminded me of DiGiorno's, except that DiGiorno's is one-third the price.  Friendly folks; mediocre pizza.  Wouldn't return.

They sometimes have coupons/specials on the website.

Twenty bucks for a pizza with meatballs, mushrooms, and kalamata olives on a new york style crust, you are going to have to look really hard to find a better pizza than that anywhere. And the meatballs were awesome, not the lame crumbled italian sausage, this was good stuff. The thin crust was very tasty I did not see any uneaten crust on anyone's plates. They have about a million other combinations of toppings you probably never even thought of but they all sounded really good.

If I lived close to this place I would probably never cook again.

So I'm having a craving for some pizza while sipping $5 martinis at Radio when the amazing bartender tells me this place delivers. I seem to have a habit lately of ordering pizza delivered to bars. I think it's awesome.

The bartender fell in love with me when I told him to order a pie of ham, bacon, pineapple and jalapenos. The only thing that can mess this pizza up is poor-quality ingredients. This was not the case, the pizza came hot, with chewy crust, crunchy bacon and fresh jalapenos. I would have gone with a thinner crust if that had been offered.

Me, the bartender and a few other patrons were quite full on a medium pizza. I miss Radio

Since spud pizza closed down,  I have been search for an other pizza place that fits me taste.  I found it here at Amazona's pizza,  They use really high quality cheese on their pizza,  The part that I realy like is the bread part is thin(it's not as thin as I wantedBut most american pizzas are having very thick bread, and not crespy,  But the pizza here have crespy bread and good toppings at very reasonable price, and friendly service.

Best pizza by the slice in the Bay, especially for the price. They don't use low quality ingredients, AND they don't charge you ridiculous prices, both qualities of other popular pizza places in the East Bay, i.e. Lanesplitters. 2 slices and a soda for only $5.50. And these are big slices too. Always cheesy and saucy with a chewy, crispy crust. This is my new go to pizza spot!

I've been ordering from Amazona's for years now. The pies always arrive fresh, hot, and are always satisfying. I think the secret is their delicious sauce, it's the perfect blend of zest...but is still slightly sweet. Not gonna lie...the one thing that kinda irks me is the fact that their pies often have bay leaves mixed into the sauce, which irks me. Other than that, they are just a damn good pizzeria!

Tried Amazona's for the first time today for a company lunch meeting.  I ordered three large specialized pizzas and a large container of caesar salad with a few drinks.  The delivery was on time, the pizzas were still hot and the salad and drinks were still cold.  We had three 'foodies' at the table and they all loved each pizza.  Amazona's makes their own sausage I understand, and I am from Chicago, so it is hard to find good pizza sausage on the West Coast, but theirs was AWESOME.  All the ingredients were fresh and the thin crust was crispy and tasty.  Will definitely use them again for meetings and for home delivery too.

Pretty good pizza, but a good part of my reason to eat their pizza is the delivery speed. I am sometimes pressed for time and they deliver quickly in my area. The other reason is that I have not found a place that makes a pizza like the Amazonia.

It certainly is unique, and tasty.

I first learned of Amazona's from my dear friend, Brandi A.  I'm always game for trying to find another good pizza delivery, so we gave it a shot.  Amazona's didn't disappoint.  Not only is their service friendly on the phone, the delivery was pretty quick, and the pizza was great.

I'm rating 4 stars simply because there is definitely better pizza out there, but those places don't deliver.    You know... places like Zachary's, Pauline's (SF), Pizziaolo, Marzano's, etc.  :o)

I don't know what's up with the review from Ray B. but I think it's lame that he tried to order a special pizza, then substitute a bunch of stuff.  LAME.  If you want to create your own pizza, then create your own, don't order a special one then change the toppings.  Geez.  I get that the "customer is always right" but sometimes that philosophy is bullshit... sometimes the customer is wrong, lame, a dumbass, or just plain ignorant.  If $0.35 wasn't that big of a deal, then what's YOUR issue?  I mean, you're talking to the manager about $0.35?  Seriously?  WTF.  And that is my RANT for the day.

On to other things...  The pizza is solid at Amazona's.  My favorite pie being the Amazonia, topped with tomatoes, hearts of palm, corn, red onions, and linguisa.  DELISH!  I've never had a pizza with this combination of toppings, but decided to try it because it sounded interesting and different...  Love hearts of palm, and linguisa!!!  It didn't disappoint.  We've ordered from Amazona's on several occassions now, and they are consistently great.  Thank goodness for finding a solid pizza delivery!  YUM!

Fast, hot, friendly and delicious!  As a devoted delivery-dinner kind of mom, this is a winning combination for me, and I keep coming back for more.  Amazona's has a varied and delicious menu, but I keep returning to the Jaguar pizza and the chicken caesar salad as they are both amazingly delicious.

Give them a try... I've ordered a LOT of delivery pizza in the Bay Area with few winners to be found, but Amazona's has definitely found a regular customer in me, and my wallet isn't hurting for it.

Yumm, yumm and yumm. The aroma sent my senses into overload. I ordered delivery and it was here and it was on time. Opening the box I immediately picked up slice. The pie itself was so beautiful. I got the Amazonia. The sausage, the tomatos, the big huge chunks of hearts of palm -- all very much appreciated by my pallate as I gleefully chewed away.

This was my first pie but it certainly will not be my last. I just wish they stayed open later.

Okay, I tried my absolute hardest to refrain from posting this follow-up, but I am for the sake of informing the community. After all, if it weren't for sites such as Yelp, businesses would wear zero downside risk of horrible customer service. Yesterday, I received the following message from "Jarbas S." in my inbox: (I can only *ASSUME* Jarbas is the manager of this shameful pizza joint.)

    * * *

"Mister Ray I don't have nothing against how chines run their  business.
All i learned  i learned from Italians and Brazilians, and i am very happy with that.
I went to so many places before"That says No substitutions" No half and half .and i thing i am smart enough to understand that.

There is always people like you trying to ruin someone else s business, maybe because they never succeeded in life.
You should at list post a honest review.

I will take your review as a  Business defamation. And i will do my best to remove it and make you pay for it.

Just post what really happen. You never offered to pay for any substitution and  so on like you posted in this review.
I don't believe in good  luck.
It seems like you do, so good luck to you."

    * * *

    WOW!!

Look folks... I left a very honest and quite frankly, fair review for this business. I *OFFERED* to give this man money, and yet he was too stubborn to hear/accept it. His message to me only validates this. Any smart business owner would own up to his horrible attitude/service and, at the very least, offer a simple apology. Instead, this guy responds with the above. Classless? Ignorant? Foolish? Or perhaps, funny?

I won't even bother wasting my time with how my ethnicity has anything to do with this experience. Nor, will I waste my time giving him a spelling lesson. Since Yelp is made for the community and fueled by the community, I'll let the readers be the ultimate judges.

I recently moved back to downtown Oakland after being in Sacramento for 9 years and wanted to find a new favorite pizza place. I decided on Amazona's after checking out their reviews here on yelp.

I ordered the special they have on their website, $12.99 for a large 2-topping pizza. A great deal for a very good pizza. The sauce is very good. If you like garlic, you'll love the sauce. The toppings and the cheese tasted fresh. I'm not a fan of super thick crusts, and theirs is almost perfect with a nice taste to it.

I have a few more places in the area that I would like to try, but will definitely add Amazona's to my list of favorites.

I have only ordered delivery from this place.  I ordered a medium pizza with pepperoni, sausage, and jalapenos.  Since I ordered on a rainy Friday night around 7 pm, they quoted me about 45 minutes to deliver my pizza.

They had trouble finding my apartment, so it actually took them about an hour to find my place.  The pizza was still fairly hot.  It looked so delicious!  It was spicy and greasy, and the bottom of the crust was crisp, but the outer crust was chewy.

I would say that the pizza was probably pretty greasy due to my toppings.  The crust was okay, and definitely crisp in the right places.  There was a good amount of cheese on the pizza.  I wish they had whole jalapenos instead of chopped ones.

It's a good option for delivery, but their prices are a little higher than I would like to pay.

I've been remiss.  I haven't Yelped in a few days.  This oversight shall be rectified immediately.

For the night of the Oakland Art Murmur, my friends and I wanted to grab something quick and cheap to eat, with or without alkie-hall to mellow out our week.  We found this place.

The interior may look down-right ghetto, but cheer up, because the pizza more than makes up for the lack of cosmetic detailing of the joint.  This pizza reminds me of the yummy goodness that I used to have in junior high and high school down by Lakeshore by the name of Four Star Pizza.  I don't remember what establishment took over that place now, but it isn't good pizza.  (No worries, it's not Lanesplitter Pizza.  I believe they're next door.)

Anywayz, I digress.  The pizza is awesome, and the place doubles as an art gallery for kids.  Love it!  Check it out if you're not scared of the neighbourhood.

This is my new favorite pizza!  Lots of great quality cheese, flavorful, garlicky sauce and a crust that is supple yet chewy.

The difficulty with pizza is that everyone has their own criteria for what makes a good one.  For example, the pinnacle for some people is a thin, crispy crust, whereas for me that's like eating pizza that's been sitting out way too long.  My husband likes tomato sauce and isn't into cheese so when people try to tell him that Cheeseboard is better than Zachary's deep dish he can barely refrain from launching into a well-prepared speech as to why people are idiots.  I, on the other hand, will refrain from repeating it here.

So, in short, if you like what I like, you will like this.  And I know that there's a joke about sex in here somewhere.

Even though the Pizzas are good the customer service is awesome!!!

I say that because I purchased a few items that I was not satisfied with (i.e. lasagna and buffalo wings). Once they discovered I was not satisfied, Oscar (the delivery man) immediately offered a pizza for me to review. So, once again Oscar (the delivery man) delivered a pizza and it t was second to none. It had all the toppings, the cheeses and all the meat and veggies one could ask for. I was in "Pizza Heaven". My wife wanted to make love to me, and my son breezed through his homework,  after consuming that culinary work of delectable pleasure. I was indeed a happy camper. On top of that, management said, "once we redesign our lasagna we will call you to review it also. They made me feel like they listened to their customers and only wanted to do good by the community.
I recommend Amazonas because they really aim to please.

Synopsis: The pizzas are great, customer service is awesome, but lasagna and buffalo wings are questionable. I will update Amazonas' products as tested.

Still in search of a decent slice  in Oakland, I decided to give Amazona's a try.

I got their default pizza, which kind of reminded me of a pie I once had from the lengendary Salem House of Pizza in Salem, MA.  The toppings are under the cheese, but there is no shortage of either.

I really appreciate that they had real meatballs, not just ground beef, as a topping, and yellow onions instead of the default Bay Area red onions. (and what is with up with the and onions on pizza anyway?  Blech.)

Delivery was pretty quick, the food was not, and they had a deal on a large pizza with 2 toppings for $12.99.  Not bad.

The pizza was good, not the best I've ever had (which is only available in Brooklyn, NY, and Avellino's in San Francisco, from what I can tell), but Amazona's is certainly the best I've had in the East Bay to date.

If they offered a meatball parmesean hero, I'd order it in a heartbeat.  The meatballs are the real deal.
