As long as you don't mind just hanging out for a bit with a drink and just chatting it up with your table mate, you'll be fine. Food usually takes a while to arrive at your table - but like I said, go in expecting this and just enjoy the ambience and you'll be fine.
The food is pretty darn good - especially for the price. And speaking of price, their happy hour is hard to beat. $3 Stellas!
Great ambience, great food, great prices. Just takes more than average amount of time to get it. More time for the cheap Stellas ;) -

Hands down, the best Thai restaurant around! Well, compared to the dozen or so other restaurants I've tried. Each time I come here, I am absolutely delighted with my meal-- and while I always have to box some up to bring home, I am usually pigging out in the car while my boyfriend looks the other way.
I highly recommend the pumpkin curry-- possibly the best curry I've ever had.
I really feel bad for other Thai restaurants, it's hard to compare with this one. -

Being in the immediate area, a friend and I stopped in for lunch. It just so happened that the place opened at 11:30 a.m., and there we were - 11:30 a.m.!
It was dark and quiet, and with Asian music playing softly. We were greeted by someone behind the bar and we were told their buffet would be open for lunch in a few minutes.
Once the buffet was up, I took a look at it and decided that $9.95 was a fair price for what they were offering.
We were seated at a table in the front part of the restaurant. I really enjoyed their decor and the quiet ambiance with there being few people in the place.
There were several dishes being offered at the buffet, and each was good. Not great, but good. I enjoyed some green curry with chicken, and some toam yum soup. I found it odd that they did not offer any plain rice. The fried rice was good, as was some fried fish dish. The spring roll seemed fresh, and filled only with vegetable.
Our server was friendly, polite and attentive.
The hard candy that arrived with my check was delicious - an Asian-made orb, flavored with guava!!!
Pick up one of their business cards at the desk and notice on back it shows "Buy 9 get 1 free" - so I got my first stamp today.
However -
The cherry on top...
The candle on the cake...
The queen on the throne... was "Coco" in the women's room.
Ladies: go check her out. Heated seat, warm water bidet, blow dry.
I want a "Coco" at my house! -

I've been meaning to try Amazing Thailand for awhile, & with today being unnaturally warm for mid March, it seemed like the perfect day for my bf & I to try out their unique patio.
We showed up around 5:15 on a Friday and were able to get a spot on their patio within a few minutes. While waiting, we sat at the bar and were impressed by their great Happy Hour menu. 4-6 everyday, with $3 rails & wine and $3-4 taps and apps. It really is the BEST happy hour in uptown (since the Independent closed- tear).
We got the cracked chicken & jalapeno cream cheese wontons for apps. The cracked chicken was sooo good & I was very impressed with the wontons. & god knows it difficult to make wontons impressive.
My boyfriend ordered the Pad Thai & I order the green curry with chicken. The portions were huge and we both loved our dishes. The chicken was moist, tender, and fresh. Mmmmm.... My only complaint with the entrees is that they weren't very spicy, even though we both asked for a 4 on the 1-5 spice scale.
Other reviews have bashed the service, but ours was fine. Nothing spectacular, but we always had beer & water in our glasses!
Overall, I think this is a great place with an OUTSTANDING Happy Hour. I'm excited to go back! -
Review from Rhonda G.
I haven't had Thai in about a year. After awhile the thrill is gone. Wondering where to go to lunch after the bookstore, and it's right there. The aesthetics are beautiful, the wood, the benches, all the little nooks and crannies.I love the intimacy here, even with just a friend, it's cozy. I'm getting tired of the whole Asian buffet with the same old same old. Let's say this was the place I needed to get me out of the snit I've been in since my mini vacation fell through. What you get on this buffet is worth every cent. Although tilapia isn't the healthiest of fish, they sure make it taste good with the red pepper and cilantro. They jazz up some fried wonton strips with a little sauce on them and it's still crunchy. I liked the green curry chicken. I think my most favorite was the Tom Yum soup, mushrooms and tofu in a very delicate broth. I liked the fried rice and the sweet rice noodles with a pinkish pad thai look, and fresh bean sprouts on top. There were some baby clams in a shell with something very spicy on them. I'll pass next time on those, it was too spicy for me, who tends to go milder, and the size made them more like embryo clams. Very large and very stuffed cream cheese puffs were delicious. They had some interesting looking sauces, one in particular was delicious with the vegan spring roll. You have to give it a good dunk to get the full effect. Some oddities for this buffet were some mini meatballs and matchstick french fries. The meatballs were good though. Some fruit and a meager salad area rounded all this off. The glasses drinks come in are even attractive.
Our server Katherine was very friendly and attentive. I made about 3 trips to the bathroom, not so much for the decor, but here the Coco toilet is the star of the show. Complete with bidet, dryer, heated toilet. You sure feel clean afterwards. This experience was wild. -

The name is no exaggeration; its actually pretty humble considering just how phenomenal this place is. It is my favorite restaurant (vegan or otherwise) in the metro area!!! I love sharing the experience with 1st timers, just to watch them marvel at how orgasmic food can be. The service is also amazing, from the hostess to the wait staff to the busboys - everyone is super friendly and helpful. I've never left without at least 1 doggie-bag (sometimes I have to bag my dessert, too), and I always leave feeling fully satisfied. Just writing this review is making me crave the Rainbow Combination. Soooo AMAZING!!! I think I'll head there now...

Best Happy hour prices and food selection! Love sitting under the umbrella ceiling for dinner while eating my sweet green curry in peace! The staff is less attentive and the bathrooms need some work, but love the food and dark atmosphere.

The happy hour menu is great. The service is not. If it weren't for the convenient location and good deals, I'd never go back.
The service is almost always terrible, especially the young blond waiter with surfer hair. It's not even that he's rude, he's just completely oblivious that he has a job to do that involves being attentive and efficient. He is neither.
You can try speaking to management about the lack of service, and they may even apologize, but nothing changes. It makes no difference if the restaurant is busy or not. The service is consistently bad.
They need new staff instead of the fancy bidets in the bathroom. Service is what keeps people coming back, not a fancy toilet. -

Great happy hour: $3-4 apps and wine. Love the curry sauce! And you can't beat All Day Tuesday HH!
Atmosphere is nice. The food generally is hit or miss. I'm not sure what's going on with the chef or chefs, because I've received the same dishes that tasted completely different on various occasions. One day I liked it, next time didn't. I don't think I'm alone in the following statement: consistency is important! Thanks. -

I gotta give this place two stars, because everything is just alright. The food isn't spectacular, a bit on the salty side, but not horrible either. The drinks are also pretty good, nothing special. The decor is pretty standard for a Thai restuarant, a bit on the dark side. The service is pretty good too.
As you can see, Amazing Thailand isn't Amazing and I generally don't find myself going out of my way to eat there. The Pad Thai is a bit too heavy on the Soy when I felt there could be more citrus and Spring Rolls are pretty spring-tastic. The Amazing curry is a no brainer, who doesn't love sauce that's practically peanut butter? Err, that isn't the most appetizing sounding, but it is pretty much the truth. Sorry guys. -

Through yelping, I found out Amazing Thailand has a gluten free menu, so we decided to try it out the week we moved to Minneapolis (hadn't yet unpacked or stocked the kitchen). The gf menu is extensive and included dishes that usually aren't offered gf (gd you, soy sauce!). All of the food was good. To this day, I get occasional cravings for the pineapple fried rice. If i could have pineapple fried rice in my mouth right now I would be happier than you would ever know. Plus, there is an awesome drink menu and happy hour. Parking is a bitch and if you tell someone you want to meet at a Thai restaurant in uptown, there are like 5 to choose from in a 5-block radius...so make sure you know the name of the restaurant... AMAZING THAILAND. In one word, it's AMAZING.

After a handful of visits, I feel confident in my love for Amazing Thailand. I've enjoyed a few dinners, a couple happy hour sessions, and came to conclusion that this is my favorite Thai eatery in the Uptown area. After a short two month stint in Thailand, I can safely say that some of the dishes on Amazing Thailand's menu are the real deal.
Pluses:
+Entree portions are large, so it's fun to share dishes with a group of people.
+Happy hour drink and food prices at $3 is hard to beat! Early and late happy hours.
+Fresh spring rolls, chicken laab salad with sticky rice, massaman chicken curry, rainbow combination
+Great Thai flavors that don't taste like Chinese food
+I'm not a avid fan of pad Thai, but I enjoyed the couple bites I had
+Thai tea
I'm really looking forward to a valiant return to Amazing Thailand. It will be difficult for me not to order the chicken laab salad, but we all need to branch out every once in a while and try new things. -

I used to frequent here when they first opened because a few of my friends worked here. Now that my friends dont work here anymore, I dont really have to be nice about my rating.
The decor is really nice, the service is ok at best. The main problem though is the food. The few items that I can eat here are those seafood salad, papaya salad, beef salad, and the tom yum soup .. mainly the dishes that have a sour note. However, other dishes that have to do with coconut milk, curry or tomato sauce are seriously sweet. I understand that the patrons in uptown are mainly white crowd, so the the restaurant have to adjust the taste of their food according to their patrons' taste buds. Seriously though .. do you have to please the white crowds this much and make your so-called Thai food this sweet?
Seriously, if you think their curry dishes are good, you have absolutely no clue how authentic Thai curry is supposed to taste.
Well, I guess this restaurant serves their purposes and fits perfectly for uptown patrons that obviously enjoy Americanized Thai cuisine.Listed in: My Uptown Eats

I love Amazing Thailand! I think the food is great! I have been here many times and have been satisfied with my entrees: pad Thai, Tom Yum soup, and their duck curry was amazing, which I recommend! Also, they have the best happy hour ever! The place is nice, clean and friendly!

I like going here for the Tuesday extended Happy Hour. Really good prices on drinks and the limited appetizer menu.
So I can get a surtly furious, an order of spring rolls and some beef Jerkey for under 10$.
So good value for your money. -
Review from Qaiser B.
My taste buds have always appreciated Far Eastern cuisine and on top of the the list is Thai food. However one thing that never showed up on my radar was East Asian desserts... till I visited Amazing Thailand. Mangoes with Sticky rice are the work of the devil. It is the only reason why i drive 20 minutes to go to this restaurant.... ok its one of the main reasons. The other being the amazing Happy Hour. you cannot beat the 3 dollar appetizers.
The rest of the menu is decent. I have tried pumpkin curry and chicken and did like it a lot.
I am also a big fan of the the waiting staff. They are very polite and sometime may say Thank You many times ;-).
By the way for the happy hour you need to sit at the bar... however sometimes the waiting staff can accommodate you to sit on a table and still offer you the HH menu.
I do like to mention about in my reviews especially for establishments in downtown and uptown. Since its always a challenge. It difficult to find free parking nearby but you may find free parking on the side streets. But be sure to read the signs and timings else you may get a parking ticket. -

um, you have to order the right things here. The Pad Thai with Tofu is OK, but the Pad Thai with Beef is a DISASTER! The beef is a HUGE chunk, hard as rock and has no taste at all...They use A LOT of source in their dishes, and most of them I don't like...

I love this place. You know sometime restaurants with descriptive names hinting about how great they are but never live up to it? Not at Amazing Thailand. They are truly an amazing Thailand. I enjoy the decoration a whole lot. It is unique and comfortable. Each and every Art Pieces are true arts. The tri-wheel-cart and the Buddha on the wall amuse me quite a bit. Food at Amazing Thailand tastes original and well cooked. They know the "rights" of food. They have the right sweet, the right spice, the right sodium, the right sourness, and of course the right heat which all combine well to make their food truly amazing.
Let's put it this way. I just love Thai food too much while amazing Thailand makes it decent, combined with their decent customer service and awesome decorations make them a 5 stars in my opinion. -

Hello fellow yelpers! I am a Restaurant owner myself and my girl friend and i are very into organics and non geo corn and soy so very picky about what we eat and how it is cooked! We found Amazing Thai not only excellent but very insightful and open with information crucial to our being able to enjoy our meals and not worrying about being poisoned by toxic oils and geo foods! We highly recommend the 5 hot Papaya salad with coconut milk to cool the heat, Sea scallop curry is incredible and the staff is so friendly and helpful it feels like home!

Review from Karen S.
Not amazing, but certainly a-ok. Food seems pretty pricey, but they have good lunch specials that include a smaller (but still generous) portion of several menu items, plus an appetizer. Had the pepper beef (with chicken instead) and an egg roll. Egg roll was nothing to write home about. pepper chicken was plenty spicy (i asked for 3 out of 5) and had lots of veggies with it. Tablemate had the red curry and ordered as a 2, and it was really, really spicy.
Service was a little spotty and pretty slow. Our server was very nice and at the end of the meal admitted they were short staffed.
I'd eat here again, but wouldn't seek it out. There are plenty of better Thai options in the Cities. -

Time-line of Events:
7:00 - Ring, ring, ring
Amazing Thailand: Hello?
Me: yes, I'd like to place an order for take out
AT: Sure.
Me: blah blah blah - my order
AT: Ok, that will be ready in 15 minutes...
7:15 - We head over to Amazing Thailand. It's been 15 minutes - by the time we get there it should definitely be ready. Right?
7:21 - Arrival - Food not ready. No problem, we'll sit in the waiting area and wait. No big deal.
7:31 - No food yet. We are told they are making it as we speak.
7:34 - They ask us to "remind" them what we ordered... went through entire order. Guessing they misplaced our order.
7:37 - We are offered a glass of water while we wait.
7:40 - They ask if we'd like an appetizer added to our order. We oblige - thinking they are offering a complimentary app for our wait. which is now 25 minutes overdue.
7:45 - Food comes out - they give us total - seems off - we look at receipt - they charged us for the app they asked if we wanted. I say.."Um... I thought you were offering us a free app for the wait... because why would we add to an order that we're ALREADY waiting for...?" - Manager (she seemed to be the manager) looks at me blankly...
Unbelievable!
The food is pretty decent, the decor is really beautiful, but an experience like this is devastating. We won't eat there again. Ever. They forget there are at least a dozen other Thai places in a 5 mile radius with equal or better food. -
Review from Liuyin S.
I've been twice now and have not been throughly impressed enough to agree with the "Amazing" part of the name. I've tried the yellow curry, pumpkin curry, pad thai, and beef with broccoli from the dinner menu and, while it was good, it wasn't good enough to leave me wanting more.
Oh, and the concept of the "hot-ness" (of a dish) rating is pretty ingenious... except, it's still subjective. Yes, I can tell you if I want my pad thai at a spiciness of 1-5, but is that a 5 on an American-scale or an Asian-scale where 3 is already burning? You know what I mean?!
However, what I DO like, a lot, is their Happy Hour menu. Daily 4-6pm anywhere in the restaurant and 9-close at the bar only. You can get $3 drinks of tap beer, rail drinks, and trinity oaks house wine, or $5 for any of their martinis that normally run $8 (there is one that is normally $12, and that is NOT included in the deal). Then, it's $3 appetizers from the following Pork or veggie egg rolls, chicken/shrimp or veggie spring rolls, cream cheese wontons, jalapeno cream cheese wontons, fried squid, fried tofu, cracked chicken, chicken wings, or amazing nua sawan (thai style beef jerky). I highly recommend the nua sawan and cream cheese wontons. These are well worth the $3. -

I've never been to Thailand, but I certainly had an amazing time at Amazing Thailand for a dinner on a Wednesday night.
First off, the level of service was beyond expected for a restaurant of its pricing. The server was quick with our requests, very patient in helping us understanding the menu, and seemed very pleasing to help. Also I like how they have the spiciness scale of 1-5. It helps to customize each dish according to each person's spicy preferences. In addition, the interior decor and the atmosphere were also very nice.
My group ordered the appetizer combination (included satay chicken skewers, spring rolls, egg rolls, cream cheese wontons, fried tofu, angel wings, fried prawns, and fried squid rings- all for $22.95!), for the entrees: holy basil fried rice, basil veggie tofu stir fry, and duck curry. Price range of each entree was around $12-15. Food was delicious. Portions were generous.
I knocked off one star due to the following reasons. I've been to countless Thai restaurants in the past. I understand many Thai dishes are meant to be sweet, but Amazing Thailand seemed to go overboard. My favorite Thai dish- duck curry, was cooked way too sweet; I could even taste the undissolved sugar, which was disappointing to me. It took away tastes of the coconut milk and red curry. Pineapple chunks in the red curry are standard, but grapes in curry seemed slightly odd to me. The taro milkshake was too much on the sweet side as well; it tasted more like an icee/ slushee than a milk shake to me. On the other hand, Thai iced tea was good only because we asked for less sweet.
Their happy hours last from 3-6 and 9-midnight (?). Drinks are $3-5 and appetizers are $5. Overall, Amazing Thailand provided great environment and service. Be sure to avoid the sweet dishes or request to have them made less sweet. I will certainly come back to Amazing Thailand when I return to the area. -

The Best Thai Food in Minneapolis!
Two years ago, I dropped everything and went to live in Bangkok, Thailand for three months. During my stay in Thailand, I fell in love with both the culture and the FOOD! Even on a 100 degree day (with 95% humidity), I still would not be able to walk by all of the grilled meats, bubbling curries, and wok-fried goods without stopping to eat.
When I reluctantly returned to Minneapolis, I realized how spoiled I was by all the food in Thailand. I had an extremely difficult time finding Thai food in the cities that could even somewhat compare to the food I indulged in in Bangkok.
After visiting dozens of Thai restaurants, I tried Amazing Thailand, a trendier Thai restaurant in Uptown. I was thoroughly impressed. First and foremost, the atmosphere is AWESOME. Amazing Thailand struck a perfect atmosphere balance with its authentic decorations, dim lighting, and splash of urban chic.
The food at Amazing Thailand is flavorful, fresh, fresh, and full of heat...just how I like my Thai food! I have gone twice and ordered both the red and green curries. The curries are rich and flavorful, without being too thick. The vegetables in the curries taste extremely fresh and so does the meat. The chicken at Thai restaurants are often prepared ahead of time and thrown into curries, thus tasting dry and overdone. The chicken here, however, tasted fresh and moist which was a definite plus. The drinks here (both alcoholic and non) are extremely tasty as well.
If you aren't able to make the long journey to Thailand, I highly suggest making the short journey to Amazing Thailand for some delicious Thai food! You won't be disappointed. -

Weirdest pad thai ever, and not in a good way. Also, there was a scene at the bar the entire 70+ minutes we were there involving an extremely drunk patron who needed to be a) cut off and b) kicked out. Instead, he spent the entire LOUDLY yelling and carrying on.
Also, changing happy hour to being less accessible is never a good thing.
They do, however, have a good lunch buffet. -
Review from Annie D.
The food was good, but I just didn't get a great vibe with some other things.
The things I liked...
There was a drink special that night, so some of the group ordered $5 drinks from the specialty drinks menu (was a $3-4 discount on some highly fruity drinks). I just got beer, which I think goes better with Thai food. They have a good selection of Asian imports and domestics.
It was kinda rocky up until the food (see "Things I disliked" below), but the eating part was solid and the portions were HUGE. My boyfriend got the Pad Thai extra spicy, and it would have been about four Annie-sized portions. It was tongue-searing too with all those chili flakes!
I got the massaman chicken curry, a standard Thai curry with peanuts and potatoes. I ordered it medium-hot, which was perfect for me. While I like breathing fire (who doesn't), I also like to taste my food sometimes. It came with a hefty portion of steamed rice. I also really liked my meal and could barely eat half of it before throwing in the towel and boxing it up for later.
Things I disliked...
We made a reservation for eight of us for dinner at 8 p.m., which my boyfriend confirmed the day before. When we arrived, they kept asking "7 p.m.? At 7 p.m., right?" and they kept saying "No, 8 p.m." And it didn't actually matter that they had lost our reservation because two people were already sitting down. No one offered to show us back to the table or even point it out. They just let us find it ourselves.
Our server was nice, but not super attentive. It wasn't busy, but we had empty beers and dirty plates left on the table for longer they needed to be. The menus were very sticky. Please wipe those down soon. I beg of you. If this were a divey hole-in-the-wall, I probably wouldn't even comment on it, but the decor/atmosphere could use some sprucing up and scrubbing down. -

If the place wasn't so beautiful, and didn't have a good selection for their $3 apps during Happy Hour I'd give it 2/5 stars.
I love taking people here just to see how beautiful the restaurant is, but I always warn them of the food so I try coming here strictly during Happy Hour. I wish the food was as great as the ambiance but it's not.
Skip the thai food because no matter how many times I keep giving this place a try w/their papaya salad, lob, padsee ew, and other common thai dishes they haven't gotten it right.
But I do recommend coming here during Happy Hour just to see how beautiful the place is. -

Do you judge the happy hour or do you judge the restaurant? Truly one of the eternal questions of Yelp.
This has gradually become my happy-hour-of-choice in Uptown primarily since it is pretty hard to beat in terms of price: $3 beers, wines, rails, and appetizers. The beers you can get for $3 are pretty tip-top too: I'm talking Surly Furious, Stella, and Guinness among others. There's a good variety of appetizers on special too such as some very solid wings, won-tons, spring rolls, etc.
Outside of the affordable confines of happy hour, though, I have some grievances. The service is maddeningly inconsistent: sometimes it feels like I have three servers at my beck and call, sometimes I've been abandoned so long that I've up and left. Sometimes your server will be back every few minutes, sometimes they'll disappear and never be seen again. Once I ordered a beer and got a root beer instead. It's just sort of all over the place.
The non-appetizer food has also seemed scattershot. The portions are pretty massive, but the dishes are hit and miss. Usually the culprit is something in the preparation too: too spicy, too salty, too sweet, etc. Frankly there are more consistent Thai places around town.
I'll still be back for many cheap beers and small appetizers, but I'm not sure I'll be back for a dinner. -
Review from Tan N.
my friend swore that she would give this place 5 yelp stars if she were to actually write yelp reviews, so with that in mind I came here for a 3 star lunch buffet. I guess you can come here if you're super starving.
on the other hand, their taro smoothie is absolutely worth 5 yelp stars, but probably only if you like the taro flavor. I would go out of my way for another chance to taste this smoothie again. -

I will only comment on the bar, since I haven't sat at a table in a very long time. The late night happy hour is awesome - starts at 9 p.m. which is great, and although not bottom-barrel cheap, the discounts are good. ($3 taps - including Blue Moon and Stella Artois!) Plus a really decent bar menu with cheap appetizers. I don't know if Joe still bartends there or not (haven't seen him in a while) but he is awesome. This place is one of my weekend staples if I'm headed out in Uptown! They close at 1 a.m. so either head to another locale or make it an early night.

This place made my steak and potatoes loving father venture away from Jax and Manny's, and now requests to try new Thai restaurants when visiting the Twin Cities!
The service was great and quick. I basically told the waiter that we know nothing about Thai, and he dissected the menu; leaving us with an order of Spring rolls, and Thai Basil with Rice. Huge portions - the next (few) days at work I had the most gourmet brown bag on the floor!
Sadly after trying neighbors Roat Osha and Chiang Mai Thai - the service and authenticity couldn't live up to this fab experience...
Looking at the menu- cannot wait for HH! My one qualm is that I cannot seem to find the legendary curry in a pumpkin - Thai food gods tell me it's here! -

Forgive me in advance, 'cause the name says it all: Amazing.
Two words to describe my meal: Basil euphoria. I ordered the Amazing Basil stir fry and the first bite was so good, I found myself closing my eyes with pleasure. Came with a big group of friends, and the first five minutes of the meal was held in near silence, as we dove into our plates. Once we came up for air, praises abounded. With a huge collection of Thai restaurants available in the Twin Cities, it can be hard to stand out, but Amazing Thailand does it with food that is fresh and darn delicious. Would rank it as one of the best I've tried! -

Came here on a Monday night. Amazing happy hour, which lasts way more than an hour. The house red wine is not bad at all, especially for $3. The $3 appetizer list is actually quite good. I can imagine getting together with a friend eating appetizers and drinking wines and beers all night for close to nothing.
However, we were hungry, so we got food. The quantity was good, maybe a bit more than I'd like, just enough for you to eat, and not have enough leftover to make it worth taking home. But it was good. At least what I got, which was one of the noodle dishes. My friend got one of the specials: salmon with mango, and mashed potatoes. It looked really good and was allegedly good.
The waitress was overly nice. And I mean OVERLY, like apologizing when she didn't even do anything wrong. I get it, you're being nice but stop saying SORRY when you've done nothing wrong. She also declared "WOW, that's a lot of food" when she brought us our food. Way to make us feel bad about eating our food. Something must've been lost in translation.
All in all, I'd go there again. -

Don't get me wrong, I love the food here. The pad woon sen is top notch, and you get a huge serving for your money. But I would suggest ordering take out.
The last time my boyfriend and I went to Amazing Thailand, we waited ten minutes for our drinks, and by the time the beers arrived, our appetizer was getting cold. When the server offered to drop off the tab, we asked when we could expect our entrees, and her expression made it clear she had forgotten to ring it in. She rushed off to get our order into the kitchen, our food arrived about 15 minutes later, and we didn't see our server again. We had to wave down the bartender to get us our tab and a few boxes. As a former server, I can understand forgetting to put in an order. But she should have gone out of my her to take care us after screwing, instead of hiding out in the kitchen until we left. -

You can get $3 beer and rail drinks, discount bloody marys and $3 appetizers!
We had:
The calamari-best I have had, perfect texture
The chili wings- crispy and sweet with a hint of spice
The spring rolls- light and refreshing
The margarita was a little sweet, but they have a good selection of tap beer, and the specialty drinks are huge!
Not to mention the hot waitress.
Don't forget to grab a toothpick on your way out, you push down the head of a little bird and he holds a toothpick in his mouth....cutest thing ever.Listed in: Best Happy Hour, Best Food!

More like AMAZING WAIT-LAND.
Went there last night to catch their 9pm Happy Hour.
Four of us.
We sat in the bar area.
Waited ten minutes.
Called a server over and she told us to get drinks/food from the bartender.
Went to the bartender to order said food/drinks.
He said there is a waitress for that section.
We told him she told us to see him.
He looked puzzled.
"I'll send someone over." he said.
We went back to our table.
Waited five minutes.
Nothing.
Waitress came out, we flagged her over.
"One minute. I'll be over." she said.
She went to the three people at the table behind us.
One of those three guys said, "We've been waiting for 20minutes."
It was then we knew what we had to do.
We left.
They looked like they had some good stuff for cheap.
But we never found out.
They don't take their Happy Hour very serious, it was more like an inconvenience for them, and for someone who doesn't eat much of that food anyway, I won't be back. -

Amazing Thailand can be hit or miss. I've been in here and had great food and good service. I've also been in and had mediocre food and decent service. With the plethora of Thai restaurants in Uptown I would think they might try a little harder to make sure their food is freshly prepared and consistently good. That said, their service is usually friendly and fast.
I was in here for a bachelorette party and the server was very kind and attentive. He was also patient with us, which showed his true professionalism at 10 p.m. on a Friday night.
The restaurant itself is decently sized and is almost never too full. They have a great happy hour and I've been in before just for the great happy hour. They have a decent selection of beers on tap. The bar service can be a little slow, but with their happy hour prices it's worth waiting for. -

Of all the Thai food I've tried in Minneapolis, this place is definitely number one. Every since dish that I have ever ordered here has thoroughly scratched my itch for that characteristic sweet, salty, sour, spicy quadrifecta. My favorite is their curry. It is absolutely fantastic. My recommendation would be the Pumpkin curry, which comes with a meat of your choice, vegetables, slices of tender pumpkin squash in their delectable red curry. I pack the leftovers for lunch the next day and I was licking my plate (or rather, gladware container) clean! I have also had their green papaya salad (just don't order it with a 5 spice rating. yowza!), pad thai and pad see ew (chewy rice noodles, thick soy sauce and that little bit of char that is so essential). All of it was awesome.
Highly recommended.
