Ordered a marble cake with whipped cream frosting for a baby shower and it was a hit! Wish I can get my wedding cake here but have a contract with our venue. But at least we have a local spot for cakes for any occasion.

i heard so much good things about this bake shop...
i finally went in to try their cupcakes...red velvet and the cookies and cream.
i have to say im a bit dissapointed...:(
i was really expecting an amazing cupcake...
i tried both cupcakes as soon as i got home...
and, it was.just plain ok...i think--wait...no, I CAN make better ones...
the cupcakes were $2 each, which i didn't mind paying at first...but now that ive tried it....its not worth $2! ...
...like i said maybe their cakes are better than their cupcakes...--
bummed!=( -

i only went there to try a cupcake. and the cupcake wasnt great. it was actually one of only four different kinds offered. nothing else was in the display case. and nobody was in the front. it was completely empty. i could actually see the computer where someone googled rubik's cube. i was trying to find a cupcake that didnt have nuts in it, because i always half my cupcakes with my little sister who is allergic to nuts. the dummy serving me didnt even know what the cupcakes were made of! he actually had to go back and make sure that one of them didnt have nuts. it was terrible. when i got into the car i found out that the icing was actually chocolate mousse, and i always think its awful to put mousse on a cupcake, it makes it super heavy. and the cake was lemon cake..which i hate. but he said it was vanilla.
overall:awful. -

YUM-OH!
Not much selection, but what they had was dee-licious. Vanilla cupcake with bavarian cream and chocolate cupcake with hazelnut frosting were just dee-vine. Cakes were moist and the frosting not too sweet. The cupcakes were very much enjoyed at $2 a piece.Listed in: Cupcakes!

Even though I've had their cakes before, I think it'd only be fair to review them based on their cupcakes this time only cause it's what I had today.
Even though Amazing Cakes' cupcakes aren't as visually appealing as all the cupcakeries, I must say that it's up to par with the pros. It's moist, cool, and just right.
I got 3 cupcakes. 2 of which are the cookies and cream and 1 being the tiramisu.
The cookies and cream is fantastic! I love it! You would think "HOLY CRAP! That's a lot of icing!" but when you bite into it, it actually works out just great! It's not too sweet and not too bland...it was just right. It has a filling in the middle...it's boston-cream-ish...it adds to the yummyness of it though!
The tiramisu was okay. The only complaint I have was the garnish. They put a coffee bean on top of the cupcake and I really don't think it was necessary only because who would swallow a coffee bean? I actually thought it was a coffee bean-shaped chocolate but no people...it's an actual coffee bean! It had the typical vanilla cake topped with coffee/buttercream-ish flavored frosting with a hint of powdered coffee... it also had the same filling as the cookies and cream one.
The lady was great! She even complimented my nails for looking beautiful! Don't get me wrong, if the shop was horrible, I probably would have given it two stars just for the compliment but all in all I truly and genuinely loved the service, the atmosphere, and the pricing! Each cupcake was $2 each. That's cheaper than all the other cupcake places I've gone to!
The reason why this review is only a 4-star is mainly cause I can't give it a 4 1/2. The reason being is because of the visual. Cupcakes are supposed to be cute and whimsical...with cupcakes...looks definitely DO matter--and this is well...it's just a normal looking cupcake...no vibrant cute colors and had I not read the reviews on yelp, I probably wouldn't have tried it cause to me the Albertsons and Stater Brothers ones looked way cuter....thus the negative 1 star. -

When this bakery first opened I loved it and in fact bought many cakes there and everyone loved them. I used to get cakes there when I wanted to impress. Now not so much. The last thing I bought there was a cookie and cupcake. Both were old and stale. Really? You don't know how old your product is? The last cake I got there was no big whoop. Sorry, won't be back.

I wish I could give more stars, but I can't. This is a local place that has been around for years. I really wanted to give them my business. I had high hopes when I used them in 2005 for my wedding cake. They lost my order 3 days before the event (a sin as far as brides are concerned), but finally found it (yay!). Then they burned my wedding cake and I discovered it the day after when I finally had a piece of cake. Threw the whole thing away, and there was lots left. Now I know why people didn't eat it! Forget about freezing the top for my anniversary...got rid of that too since I knew it wouldn't be any good.
Tried them again a few years later in 2008 for a simple baptism party cake. Wanted a round two layer cake to matching my invitation - off white, with black polka dots - very simple. I made sure to direct them to use nice writing on the top to look like handwriting - typical nice cake writing. They said they would try. Really Amazing cakes? You are supposed to do pretty cakes for a living. Even the Cakes at Ralph's look good.
Got my cake... the awful looking bubble letter printing on the top looked like someone in high school without any cake decorating skills decorated my cake. All it said was "happy baptism" ...not too hard, right? It wasn't burned, but it didn't look too great. I even told her when ordering that I was giving them a second chance to make up my wedding cake screw up. I would have thought they would have given it a second look before I picked it up.
Anyway, I can't go back here. I'd rather go to Ralph's where the cake is good, pretty, and uncomplicated special orders are always accommodated.
As far as the comment goes, the owner has not responded to my question about when ownership changed....as far as i can tell, my wedding cake might have been the old owner - who at the time was the new owner or so they told me.... and something else says there was a new owner in 2008. So unless this place has changed owners ever year for the last 4 years...my baptism cake was done by this owner. Shame I can't go here again.Comment from M T. of Amazing Cakes 1/10/2012

I have purchased 5 or 6 different style cakes for my children's birthdays and every single time my guests compliment on the taste and look of each cake. I love that they allow the tastings and are helpful with ideas as to what would look best for the cake.
My only problem is that living in Tustin the drive to Anaheim is crazy for me when I have a busy schedule as is prepping for the party.
I reccomend this place to anyone who is looking for a unique cake that not only looks but tastes very good! -

I purchased cupcakes from here. I bought 3 red velvet and 3 chocolate orea cupcakes. They were $2 each.
I liked the chocolate oreo cupcake. It was moist and tasted delicious!
I wasn't really a fan of the red velvet cupcake. It was nice, but not that great.
I would still recommend the Choc Oreo Cupcake though! -

I special ordered a VERY unique and detailed cake for my fiance's 30th birthday - a lobster cake (he loves lobster).
As you may or may not know, lobsters are very intricate little critters and this bakery got it right on!!!
I was beyond impressed when I picked up the 2-tiered beautiful ocean-themed cake with a huge lobster on top! The lady who made the cake (and I assume is the owner) is very sweet and friendly. They opened up on Sunday so I could pick up the cake and it wouldn't have to sit in the fridge for 24 hours which I thought was really nice of them.
If you're looking for a beautiful cake, this is your place!!! The prices weren't bad either. -

I came for the cupcakes and i would have to rate it three stars. The reason why is because the cup cakes had that kitchen taste to the cup cakes. You know how metal taste like when you dont clean it enough.. and later it leaves that mental tastes to the cake, well that what killed it. I bought the red velvet cupcakes and i thought that metal taste was part of the cupcake taste.. but after i tried another chocolate cupcake, I realize that it had the same metalic taste to it... THIS WAS FOR THE CUPCAKES... I DONT KNOE IF ALL THE CUSTOM CAKES TASTE THE SAME.SOOOO...

5 stars for great looking cakes, excellent taste, and friendly service.
I initially came here for wedding cake tasting around March of this year. You need to make an appointment for cake tasting so call ahead. Owner Monica was very helpful and gave us rather large slices even for just sample tasting. They have so many different flavor combinations it's difficult to choose. One thing that stands out about this place is their cakes look and taste great. So many wedding cakes look good but don't taste that great. Everything here tastes great, not just the cakes. They also have their everyday baked goods like cupcakes, lemon bars, apple squares, and few others. Selections vary from day to day. Their specialty however is wedding and birthday cakes. They can design difficult cakes like the ones you see on TV but do it at a much lower price.
My fiancee and I still haven't made up our mind on flavor for our wedding cake but I had the opportunity to test out few more flavors by ordering birthday cakes for my coworkers. Pretty much all their flavor combinations are good but these are the ones I really like - chocolate cake with raspberry truffle filling, marble cake with coffee chip filling, chocolate cake with cookies & cream filling, and German chocolate cake.
My fiancee and I decided on an asymmetrical shaped cake (more like the mad hatter design). Most places would try to design with all fondant and charge you almost a $1000 but Monica said she can do it at a much lower price by using a combination of butter cream and fondant. I saw pictures of mad hatter cakes they've done in the past using this combination and they all looked fantastic. I will do an update review (in about three months) after my wedding to show how the cake turned out. -

okay so here it goes!
With the outside of this place I wasn't to sure about. The unfortunate part about it is that its an older building but still I thought hey lets give it a try and I am SOO happy that we did! Our daughters first birthday was coming up.
We walked right in and we were greeted very graciously. They had a full menu with all prices and exactly what you would think of. They had a adorable decorative wedding cake it was mint green with polka dots. We wanted to replicate that just in a smaller version. I mean she was only turning one!
We ordered it one week in advance and they were very helpful with everything. We ended up getting a polka dot cake with while whip cream frosting chocolate with chocolate mousse! YUM!
My finance ended up eating most of it. All in I HIGHLY recommend this place if you are on a budget and are looking for a fab cake.
We definitely plan of getting our wedding cake here next fall.
I hope they can do Dia Los Muertos themed cake! -

Ordered a birthday cake for my bf birthday last week.
Pros:
- great customer service (fast, very responsive and accommodating). Thanks Amy and Monica
- great super cute design (got lots of compliments and friends asking me where I got the cake)
- coffee chips filling is great, cake is fluffy (I'm a big fan of asian style cake, not super sweet american bakery cake) but cake taste is just ok, not superb.
Cons:
- a little bit pricey
- they close at 6pm, which I think is too early
Overall, great experience.... Good job Amazing Cakes! -

I loved the cake I ordered from Amazing Cakes! I was planning a bridal shower for my friend & really wanted a special cake - not a standard sheet cake from a supermarket or Costco. Amazing Cakes had just what I wanted.
I had to serve about 25 people so we ordered a 12inch round cake for the shower. The owner was very friendly and worked with me on what would look best and what is most affordable for me (For example, using fondant over frosting would be much more expensive). I found the cake to be affordable for what I was getting & Amazing cakes will let you order up until Wednesday if you need a cake for a Saturday - a wonderful trait for this place since most places want at least a week in advance.
Everyone at the shower loved the cake! It was absolutely beautiful...perfect coloring and design. My friend the bride even commented that my cake was probably nicer than the wedding cake she will be having. In addition to looking beautiful, it was very yummy too! We ordered chocolate cake with fresh strawberries & whipped cream inside. The cake was very moist and was not too sugary...just perfect. I loved the strawberries in the middle too. Everyone seemed to devour their cake which was exactly what we were hoping for.
I'd definitely order from here again. They are really friendly & easy to work with. I even called after their closing hour the night before to change the message on the cake...and they were able to that for me as well. Yay for Amazing Cakes! -

Great cakes for reasonable prices.
I've been wanting to try this place for a while now, and I'm glad I finally got the opportunity. We were throwing a post-wedding celebration dinner for some friends, and I thought this was the perfect opportunity to try this place.
I ordered an 8" cake (feeds 10-12) from here, and it turned out cute. I gave them the wedding invitation and told them I wanted the design to be similar to the invitation. The colors weren't exact, but the design was spot on. On top of that, the cake was delicious. We got the chocolate cake with raspberry filling. All our guests at our dinner party commented on how raspberry the filing actually tasted. The frosting was light. There were 9 of us at the dinner party. We served the cake with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream and only had half the cake. The rest was sent home with the newlyweds to enjoy. :)
I will definitely be back for future celebration cakes! -

Went cake tasting here today with my finance as we are searching for bakeries to make our wedding cake. The tastings are by appointment only so book ahead.
The exterior and interior of the bakery is nothing to rave about and honestly I don't care since in my mind it's all about the cake.
The cakes were pretty moist and the fillings were not super sweet, which made me a happy camper after experiencing sugar overload at some of the places we tried. Their fondant tasted like marshmallows and the french butter cream was divine. They also give you a substantial serving per cake for the tasting so you can truly taste and re-taste.
Their prices are very reasonable for wedding cakes and the customer service is excellent so I would definitely order any specialty cakes here next time. Unfortunately they don't deliver to Temecula so my search for a wedding cake continues... -

I have gone to Amazing Cakes for many years and have referred many people to them. Their cakes are truly amazing!! Just a few cakes they have made, birthdays (both kids and parents, with personal pictures and decorations), baby showers, and my brother's wedding. I took my friend in here today and Monica gave my friend (Arlene) a sample of the chocolate with cookies n cream filling cake. Arlene was very impressed!!
Their designs and imagination are incredible!!
I have always been asked where I got these cakes. Hence, my referrals! -

I called Amazing Cakes in July just before our first anniversary to order our complimentary cake topper. When I explained that they'd done my wedding cake the year before, I found out that Amazing Cakes was under new ownership.
The new owner explained that she didn't have any record of the previous owner's clients, but said she'd still honor the original agreement and do my cake topper for free.
I can't speak for the other customers who had a bad experience after the change in ownership, but I didn't have any problems.Listed in: Wedding Cheat Sheet

Wanted to love this place.
The owner is incredibly nice and helpful. There's an endless catalog of former works of art on the tables at the front of the shop. It really looked like they could do anything. My wife and I were so happy with the art work and the proprietress that we ordered on the spot - a two-tier, dark chocolate cake with chocolate mousse filling. Dark red icing and black decorations to complete the cake and match our wedding color scheme. The owner wasn't sure about the color we wanted, so we brought in squares of fabric she could match, which she assured us she could. I went away happy.
Two weeks later, day of the party, I go to pick up my cake. Salmon pink, with light brown decoration. Hugely disappointing. Dim lighting at the party venue hid it, but in other circumstances this could have been pretty disruptive.
The cake was, however, delicious, and again I got a lot of compliments on the choice. The woman is very nice and willing to work with you. I guess my only advice would be to have her call when she's chosen the color so you can come in to confirm or rework what she's done.
Be careful. -

I'm Vietnamese so I've always stuck to bakeries such as Lily's, final touch and Van's when it comes to cake. But for my second son's 1st birthday we decided to try a new bakery that was a little closer to my house.
The price is slightly higher than what I'm used to paying but I was pleased with the taste and design of the cake. My son's birthday theme was Sesame Beginnings. Amazing Cakes designed a beautiful cake with vibrant colors and sesame street characters in diapers as I had requested. They did a great job drawing the characters in icing!! I know fondant designs are prettier but fondant is a lot more expensive and doesn't taste good. (Typically, i throw away the icing, but i didn't with this cake ..it was really tasty)
I had a banana nut cake with banana creme filling. It was delicious (although i didn't feel any nut ..maybe it was just nut flavor and no physical nut)!! It was moist/sponge like almost and not too sugary which i like.
Our party was on a sunday but since they're only open for 30 minutes on Sunday for pick-up, i picked it up saturday afternoon. The cake was ready on time and there was no waiting. I love it!
I would definitely recommend this place to others. -

I DON'T THINK SO...maybe it's cause I purchased an already made cake in the window but I ordered a strawberry cake ..i like to add that there's a strawberry field right down the street and I received a cake with strawberry cream. so disappointing! Also, they charge .75 for cream puff that they bought from Costco!

I absolutely love this place! I was searching on yelp for a bakery that sells reasonable priced cupcakes. Nowadays, it is very hard to find that since most cupcake bakeries will sell a single cupcake for $3 - $4. I stumbled upon this place and found that people gave good reviews on their cakes and cupcakes. I decided to venture to this bakery in hopes of finding a decent tasting cupcake that wouldn't break my pocket.
The bakery had a variety of cupcake flavors such as red velvet, chocolate, raspberry, german chocolate, & vanilla. I ordered 6 cupcakes: 3 red velvet and 3 raspberry. The lady who took my order told me the total cost would be $12 (i.e. $2 per cupcake). However, the lady changed the total cost and told me it would be $9 instead since the raspberry cupcake was smaller than the other cupcakes. I absolutely thought this lady was a class act! She could have still charged me $2 for the raspberry cupcakes but was honest with me that she wasn't able to make the regular size cupcakes and only had the small cupcake holders to make the raspberry cupcakes.
Besides the excellent customer service, I absolutely loved their cupcakes. It wasn't too sweet, just right. And I have to say I usually like red velvet cupcakes but this time the raspberry cupcakes superseded the red velvets. I am definitely coming back here again.....most likely tomorrow....hehe =D -

Not only is Amazing Cakes the best tasting cake you will find anywhere, it is also the most affordable. It's hard to believe the cake prices given how delicious the cakes are. When selecting a cake, we were treating to 5 different cake slices, and when finalizing the decision, 3 more! They are very accommodating in terms of budget and taste. I was able to order a sheet cake too, and with my three-tiered wedding cake, I ended up having 5 different cake/filling combinations! Plus, the cake had a beautiful design in addition to being absolutely delicious. I can't wait to go back just to sample their other bakery items!

Amazing cakes of Anahiem is welll um... AMAZING!!! I first discovered them when I was wedding cake shopping in the O.C. This place was affordable and very delisious. Their cookies n' creme and red velvet cake is the best! I didn't go with Amazing cakes for my wedding cake because a different cake somewhere else stole my heart. But I did get a red velvet cake from here for my bridal shower. It was delisious but I ruined it when I asked for buttercreme. The woman warned my sister that whipped topping would be better because butter creme would make it too sweet but I didn't understand what she meant until the day I cut the cake. It wasn't thier fault it was mine. Listen to them, they know thier stuff! I also ordered a birthday cake from them last Novemeber (cookies n' creme :)) for my husband's b-day. I asked for a sheet cake since a custom one would have been too expensive for my small budget. I didn't have time to go all the way over there to give them a picture or something to work with but when I picked it up on the day of his party I was very happy. Everyone said the cake was awesome in design and taste. It was very deliscous! They are now my favorite cake place and I highly recommend them!

They are really great, the owner is really nice and is willing to work with you. My husband and I went in for a tasting and she was so helpful even though it was after hours and was doing us a favor. We picked 3 different flavors. Top was marble with hazelnut mouse, middle was white with strawberry cream, and the bottom was chocolate with raspberry cream. 135 guest, total was $400 with $35 local delivery. Best part, the cake tasted great and our guest loved it. Picture: 3 layers with white hearts, purple and pink ribbon.

I love Amazing Cakes. The staff is very helpful and want you to have the best cake experience. I have been coming here since before the new owners bought it a few years ago and am still very happy with the delicious cakes and most of all the quality of the cakes. I didn't order it before the Wednesday deadline, but was still able to get a "Amazingly" cute cake by Saturday.

This place is so amazing! I was driving by Amazing Cakes when I was out to meet a a friend at work. I didn't want to show up empty-handed so I actually saw the Donut place next to this bakery at first, but then I noticed all the gorgeous cakes inside this bakery and I couldn't help but go in. I had their chocolate cupcake with rasberry frosting, a simple vanilla with buttercream frosting, the red velvet and cream cheese frosting, and the last one was a chocolate with chocolate and black cherry frosting. They were ALL AMAZING. My favorite would have to be the chocolate with blackcherry/chocolate frosting and the chocolate with rasberry forsting; those are to die for (and the funny thing is that I don't even like chocolate that much). They are light yet sweet so you don't get sick of it after like the first 2 bites. But I really loved just finding out for myself such a great little hole in the wall bakery. You have to come here at least once and try the cupcakes for yourself!

I researched about 20 cake shops and found that Amazing Cakes was the most affordable. Also, they were able to do more with frosting than other bakeries. Other bakeries explained that my design was trick and they needed to do parts of it in fondant, which is more expensive. Amazing Cakes had great service, were very patient, and very accommodating (even via email). I will be coming back!
