You wont find the bowl haircut here.
I don't know why Asian hair places sometimes get a bad rep just because they're cheap. Just because the place doesn't have blaring music in the background, with stylists dressed in all black that have orange spiky hair, doesn't mean you won't get a good hair cut here. Cut down the trendiness and fluff = drive down the cost, and pay for what you really came for, a haircut. Sure they might be eating their ramen behind that Japanese screen, but you can't beat $18 for a ladies hair cut (just kidding- they didn't really do this here, but the haircut was really $18) Who wants their hair cut by someone with hair that resembles a Simpson's character anyway?
I transitioned from the Asian cutters to 'salons' a few years ago, but my budget lulled me back to try the asian stylists again. And i'm glad I did. They were fast and friendly. And they did exactly what I wanted. As long as I can go to this place, I don't think I will go back to a 'trendy salon' again. -

The only thing Amazing about this salon is that they get such great reviews and continue to get business! This place SUCKS for nails. This was the first place I tried after I moved up here from California and, I must say, if they are any indicator of what nail salons are like in Oregon, that's just a damn shame.
They didn't listen to what I was saying I wanted, they acted like asking if they have colored powder tips and asking for rounded corners on a square shape were totally out there requests, and they overcharge for the quality they do!
The nail art is lacking. My cat can draw better flowers. It was a terrible experience. They took too long, everything looked like crap, AND I paid around the same price I would have for my stellar place back home!
Never again!! I was amazed, alright, but it wasn't putting a smile on my face! -

Due to a mix-up on the time of another appointment down the road, my mom and I decided to drop in at Amaze Salon for spur-of-the-moment pedicures. The experience was, in a word, amazing ;)
We walked in and asked how long pedicures would take, and if it was possible to get them at that time. They said 30 minutes, and sure, so within minutes we had chosen our polish colors and were seated in these fabulous back massage chairs with our feet soaking in warm, bubbling water.
The nail techs were friendly and efficient, and did great work. The atmosphere was incredibly relaxing. And the price was quite reasonable. Amaze Salon is definitely out of the way for me, but for the great service, I'd be tempted to go there again! -

Once upon a time I went to get my eyebrows waxed and walked out looking like a chola. Needless to say, I stayed away from getting them done professionally for quite some time. However, Amaze Salon helped me rebuild my trust in other human beings. I know they can help me keep my face creepily hairless and baby soft, all without breaking the bank. No more pencil thin or weird angled eyebrows for me. I've had my haircut here too and they did a really good job, but I love going to my even cheaper stylist in St. Johns who knows how to cut my super thick black straight hair. Amaze is a really clean salon and there is hardly any wait (you still probably want to call if you're in a rush). Also, there is a Target like right next door to it, so the boyfriend can always kill time over there while you're getting beautified.

I hate to bring down the overall score of Amaze Salon with my 4 star review, but it has to be done! :(
It's not that I had a bad experience. Quite the opposite actually. I have been hard pressed to find a salon that caters to my ridiculous peculiarity for hair cuts. Back when I lived in Eugene, I went to Irunwithscissors (Sarah) and Japan Hair Design (Harumi) and both were VERY accommodating to my fickleness.
Anyway.
I give Yelp a spin and hit up a salon near me. Amaze Salon shows up with five stars and very positive reviews, albeit one hair cut review. I shoot them a call to see if I can swing a cut in in a few hours. The lady that answered was surprised and gave me the "uhh yeah..." answer. Her name was Thuy and upon my realization of that, her response made complete sense given her slight accent. (Vietnamese culture joke)
Shampoo and cut for $15. She listened to everything I said and made sure I was happy with the cut. I usually have a picture to show the stylist to help them picture what I want, but sadly removed the memory card out of my phone. After some negotiating, Thuy finished up and had me style my hair like I normally do to figure out what I wanted. And that was pretty much it.
My cut isn't perfect. Harumi and Sarah back in Eugene are definitely better, but I LIKED my cut. Unlike Mona Lisa *COUGH* Thuy and I converse and figured something out. I definitely like my hair and I'll definitely come back. It's cheap and easy! And she used a razor!
***As a side note, she kept telling me my hair was long...which is was. I wasn't too keen on her vision of what guys hair SHOULD look like as I'm kind of wacky in that sense. I like my hair crazy and slightly different...is that too hard to grasp? -

Ever since my eyebrow guy moved away to explore the wilderness of Alaska, my eyebrows have been an unmanageable forest of wild hairs. After unsuccessfully trying to tame them myself, I decided to seek out a professional. Amaze Salon is located right next to Great Clips where I sometimes get my hair cut so I thought I'd check it out. I stopped by and they took me in right away. The waxer was very professional and didn't make my eyebrows look like I was constantly surprised. I would definitely come back to get my brows redone.

I have been here twice and each time I have gotten an amazing haircut! The ladies here really listen to what you want and even improve on what you had envisioned! The prices are really low and they even have punch card to use after 10 free haircuts/nails ect. I haven't gotten anything besides a hair cut done, but I plan on going back soon to get some nails done!

My sister and I decided to get pedicures done after a long weekend at the beach. Plus, it was Mother's Day so I wanted to get pampered.
There was nothing spectacular about my experience. Usually when you get your pedicure, they give you a massage. The massage was short and didn't feel like a massage.
The tech that worked on my sister did a great job though. (So my sister says). I won't be returning though. I'm still on the hunt. =(
