This is the best place for pizza, pasta, salads, calzones, anything Italian! The prices are great but the food is WONDERFUL! I feel like i found a whole in the wall place that makes huuuge portions at small prices! The food always comes out bubbling fresh from the oven; and that's the chicken Parmesan!! Even "just spaghetti"  is a mouth-watering treat at this place! Small restaurant (this location at least) but wonderful food and environment! Also, they have FREE DELIVERY! Being located right on the water at Greenlake, Seattle is a plus because of the scenery. MY favorite Italian place by far!!

I always enjoy my pizza from Amante.  The toppings are generous, the delivery is timely, and they have a great selection of pre-designed pizzas or you can create your own.  Their hotwings are better than any other pizza delivery I've tried.

I had my first real pizza in several months from Amante's and it was very good! We had the Amante Special pizza and the Hawaiian and both were very tasty.

I was pleasantly surprised at how good the pizza was. The Amante Special kind was so good with prosciutto, Italian sausage, red onions, mushrooms, black olives, basil and shredded pepperoni.

I wouldn't hesitate to order from Amante's again. Nice delivery guy, too.

I really enjoy the pizza here. I always order a kalamata olive/mushroom pizza, and sometimes it's hard to find kalamata olives as a topping at pizza places. It's rather greasy, but sometimes that's good! :) Also, It is pretty expensive, but so are most pizza places around this area. It's WAY more affordable than places like Pagliacci (although that's good, too)! The reason I give it 3 stars is due to the lady who takes orders most of the time, and is super impatient and rude. I understand that it might be annoying taking orders all night long, especially when busy, but a little bit of good service goes a looooong way!

    "It's pizza"

Husband and I are trying to check out restaurants close to our place, so decided to try Amante. The pizza we got was just fine -- not great, but not bad either. I liked the crust, but I would have liked a bit more sauce. Shreaded pepperoni is kind of genius -- crispy and not greasy!

We also each got salads. His Caesar was fine, my Fancy Garden Salad was weird and over-dressed with super-sweet raspberry syrup-dressing.

House Chianti is good and a half-carafe (which was 2.5 glasses a piece) was only 14.50.

    Service was also just fine.

Only other problem was a little fruit-fly infestation that was driving me nuts!

Based on my last trip there, if I hadn't had several really good experiences with Amante's I'd be tempted to give them less stars. But I'm pretty confident that my last trip was an exception, rather than the rule.

It goes down like this: myself and a group of friends had just finished up a nail-biting (not really) 16-3 loss at the softball fields across the street at Greenlake and were in search of some beers and grub to sooth the sting of defeat. Greenlake Bar & Grill was packed so we thought we'd check out Amante's, I mean pizza + beer = awesome, so it wasn't a tough compromise.

First the good: we walked in and there was a large table with just the right amount of seating for our group, perfect. I ordered the gorgonzola guru calzone. Couple of others ordered meat lovers calzones, one ordered the chicken pesto sandwich, and lastly there was a lobster ravioli in the mix. Mine, for sure, was really good and based on what I heard from the rest of our group, I believe there's was good too.

Now the bad: after a couple hours of softball we were a thirsty bunch and it took at least ten minutes after we sat down for them to even ask us if we wanted anything to drink despite it not being even remotely busy in there.

Amongst the group we ordered 1 pitcher of Redhook ESB and 1 pitcher of Mac and Jacks. The ESB arrived first and right off the bat we noticed that it was way too yellow looking to be an ESB (we know our beers... perhaps a little too much) and it tasted like a hefewizen (they also had Widmer Hef on tap). We inquired and she said it was a new keg and even showed us herself pouring from the tap. Fact of the matter was they had hooked up a keg of Widmer hef to the ESB tap. Whatever, we liked that beer anyways so we let it go. Then came the pitcher of Mac and Jacks. Gross. I took one tiny sip and nearly spit it out all over the table, as did everyone else at the table. This keg had clearly gone bad, it tasted like really sour wine. Completely undrinkable. It's unfortunate but to their credit they replaced it with a pitcher of the hef without a fus.

Like I said, I've had plenty of Amante's experiences in the past and they've all been good so I'll chalk this last visit up as an aberration. But please, Amante's, your beer situation needs a major overhaul!

It's a good place to eat if you can get over the price.  $15 for a 10" pizza.  We ordered a Seattle pizza and added two types of meat; ham and pepperoni.  They messed it up and gave us ham and roast beef; which was o.k.  I'm a meat lover.  It doesn't really matter to me. They were very generous with the toppings and the pizza fairly thick.
It's one of the better pizza I've had in awhile.  I'll probably come back.

There are some puzzling reviews for this place.

Granted, I don't REALLY know anything about anything except getting a salad for take out.  And that there isn't a bar... so I have no idea what people are talking about.

What I do know: HUGE, FANTASTIC SALADS HERE!  Seriously.  If I know I want a reliably crunchy salad with some chicken or something on it and I'm too lazy to make one myself, Amante's is where I go.  There are maybe 10 different kinds.  More?  Easy to pick up on the way home.  'Half' size is more than you can eat comfortably by yourself.

While I haven't had the pizza at this location, many a slice have I had at the Cap Hill location (no by the slice at Greenlake), and it's consistently good.  Not gourmet, not authentic-whatever, but consistently satisfying standard pizza.

For what it is, I like the environment - low lights, big booths, warm colors, you can see the park out the front window.  I've never seen it busy (granted I go at off hours).  Based on having been to the hellhole that is Zeeks pizza when there're 30 (or even just 2, but may as well be 30) horrific, loud, mindless, entitled children, and given Zeeks inability to be good or even similar to itself twice in a row, I have no idea why anyone would go there and not here.  Really.

One day while walking past Amante's, I heard someone else give the advice to a couple who was trying to decide between this place and Greenlake Bar & Grill say... "Greenlake Bar & Grill is the place to go for food and service.  Amante's is the place to go to get change for the meter."
    WHOLE HEARTEDLY AGREE!!!

The food is decent, something to fill the stomach.. that's about it.

Service and attitude... HMMMM.. has ALWAYS been questionable and the main reason why I will NEVER eat here again...  This is based on more than a one time experience.  A LOT of the time it takes at least 2 attempts to get an order right, which is pathetic.
I don't have complicated orders.  ONLY one special request, I don't want the salad that comes with the pasta dishes  THAT'S IT  Still get charged full price though!!!

When something has been forgotten, I have to call them.  They deliver something that was supposed to go for another delivery, they come knocking (without a call from me), asking for it back so they can deliver it to who actually ordered it (which scares me).  We're all human and make mistakes.., BUT  it's been more than just a few times..

The last and FINAL time I ordered from this place, the amount of times I had to interact with the staff was EXHAUSTING.

Ordered:  Pasta, no salad and cheese bread.

First time delivering:... Pasta only... Call back..
Staff:  "Well, you didn't order any cheese bread. It's not here in the computer.  I didn't make the mistake."

Response: "Ok, that's strange, I thought I had.  Can I please have an order of cheese bread delivered to me, then?"  Thought:  This is a normal order for me, comes out of my mouth with no problem.  Is it possible that you screwed up as you have done numerous times in the past??  Not going to argue, not worth the energy...

Staff:  "Sure, we'll be there in 10 minutes and the cost is X"
Thought:  Rolling my eyes, because I know my total when I order this and I already paid for it.  WHATEVER

    Second delivery:
    Delivery attitude:  You stupid girl
Thought:  I'm not the one who screwed up in the first place, I tip you minimum 20% or better every time and you don't have too far too drive to deliver...

OPEN IT UP.. IT'S BREADSTICKS, NOT CHEESE BREAD...
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!!!

    Calling back, Conversation:
Me:  "I ordered cheese bread and received breadsticks."  Frustration now coming through in my tone of voice

    Staff:  "No, you ordered breadsticks."

Response:  "No I did not, I ordered cheese bread."  Thought:  I've ordered breadsticks only once..They're not worth the $3.95 plus tax you pay for them!!!

Staff:  "Well, it's right here in the computer... you ordered breadsticks.  I did not make the mistake."  Then this long dissertation on how he never makes a mistake, that all this has been my problem, etc..
Thought:  Here we go again.. YOU could NEVER make a mistake..

Response:  "Well, I know I did not order the breadsticks.  I have a receipt showing that I paid for cheese bread (a $2 difference) and what I have are breadsticks.  I would like what I ordered and paid for."

Staff:  Insults me AGAIN, again states that I'm wrong and how he's not going to send cheese bread because there was no mistake on his part.

Response:  "Well, I KNOW I did not order this, I'm not going to pay for something I didn't order and won't eat.  SO, I can either come down to your place, return the breadsticks and you can give me my money back OR you can come to me, give me my money back and I'll give you the breadsticks."
After more argument.. They finally came up, took the breadsticks back and gave the money back, short some & no cheese bread.  Wonder if they delivered / used the breadsticks for someone else???

MUCH later, to aggravate the situation even more... I received a phone call from the "manager"
She offered a free meal the NEXT TIME I order from them, not offering to reimburse me for the meal that night.  I asked why she couldn't reimburse this evenings meal as is common practice for a lot of restaurants??  (Thinking, after tonight's ordeal I TRULY doubt I will ever order from here again).
She stated that she didn't know how to credit the card on the machine and didn't have authorization to give a credit.  Yet you are the manager, right??..Well, yes.. HMMM....

Their food IS NOT GOOD ENOUGH to go through this much trouble / expend the energy it normally takes to receive what you ordered!!!

    Yowza.

"I don't want a lot for Christmas, there is just one thing I need...." It's Christmas in July! Oh wait, no, that's just an old Christmas cd the manager popped into the stereo back in December and hasn't removed since. Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, it really got me in the holiday spirit after my long, sweaty summer walk around Greenlake.

I should have vetoed coming when my friend turned to me and said, "I've never been here before, so if it's bad, don't blame me." Sorry honey, I can't help it. I'm a yelper.

Food = Way, way, way too expensive. My portion of pasta (for $13) was indeed enormous (think Claim Jumper sized) but I wasn't interested in eating more than a few bites of it and my side salad looked like a science experiment and was drenched in not so tasty raspberry vinaigrette. Cheese bread was good, though. My friend ordered a pizza that looked like it was straight out of a pizza hut commercial. Do they deliver to other restaurants? On the up side, our husbands will be fed for days.

Staff = Very attentive and smiley. Of course, we were the only people in the restaurant on a Friday night at 7:30. I try to avoid empty restaurants but sometimes get sucked in (thanks Melissa) but it didn't seem to bother our server. I'm guessing the place is empty 90% of the time.

P.S. - a bunch of the Italian on their menu is spelled wrong. See if you can find all the mistakes! Or, better yet, just don't come here.

While my hubby and son hung out at Green Lake Community Center I went on a trek for our lunch.  I wandered around a bit, circling Amante at least three times.  On the 4th lap I walked in to an empty and nicely decorated dining room.  12 minutes later I departed with my whole order of Greek Salad and an XL Feta Fetish pizza.

Although we had to wait to dig in until getting back home (30 minutes to drive 4 miles, ugh) the pizza lukewarm was awesome.  It reminded my husband of sausage and me of chili relleno and it was all consumed over the course of the day quite easily.  The Greek Salad was okay.  I prefer more bell peppers, tomato, and kalamata olives in my salad and this one was predominantly lettuce.  It was very fresh, just not what I was hoping for which is what knocks Amante down a star for me.

Good food, fast service, large servings and average pricing.  I will be back again.

This review is for a specific order placed on the evening of 6/28.  I ordered a cold cut grinder and the seafood fettuccini.

The grinder was just fine...a little steep in price for a sandwich (about $10), but sizable enough and a perfect late-night dinner for my too-lazy-to-go-shopping self.  Nothing special, but good, warm, well-seasoned/flavorful and filling.

The seafood pasta dish, which runs $17.95 and is supposed to come with "Alaskan halibut, scallops, tiger prawns, red onion, mushrooms, chopped garlic, Parmesan cheese, served with cream and your choice of pesto, garnished with chopped tomatoes and basil leaves", was a very big disappointment.  I'll explain...

Is there anything in my quoted (from the website) ingredients list that would lead you to expect that pasta dish to come topped with frozen fried fish fillets?  Yes, that was the "halibut", and it tasted pretty much like the Gorton's variety (cheap and more breading than fish).  Also, there wasn't a tiger prawn to be found in the mix.  These two items would seem to justify that fairly steep price tag...if one ingredient was actual cooked fish and the other ingredient was actually included.  Unfortunately, that was not the case here.

It was my plan to save the dish for lunch tomorrow (I just had a few bites after removing the breading from the "halibut" and figuring out the missing ingredient), but I am going to find something a bit more palatable and I'm hoping to chat with the store tomorrow to see if they are willing to remedy the situation.

Breaded, frozen fish fillets in a fettuccini dish?  Really?  Sorry, I just can't...that just doesn't...yeah...

The added (but minor) insult-to-injury was the promise of a free 2-liter of soda, which did not come with the order.  By the time I received my order, the store had closed and it was too late to address the above issues.  Hopefully, they will be gracious enough to address the issue when I contact them tonight.

It is worth mentioning that the person taking my order by phone and the delivery driver were both friendly and efficient in delivering my partial order.

I will add an update to this review after I've followed up with the store.

I went out last night with some friends and since i wasn't drinking i was looking forward to stop and get a slice on the walk home. I wanted to share a slice with my friend cause i normally cant eat a whole slice myself.  The guy working at the counter was rude and was noticeably annoyed by my friend who had been drinking but wasn't obnoxious at all. We asked if he could cut it in half and he just flat out said no. My friend was pretty shocked and said something like how we didn't think that was an outrageous request. He explained how this is a small business and that's why he couldn't... does that even make sense?

And the Canadian bacon pizza tastes like shit. Go to hot mamas they are way better.

any place that is lucky enough to get me on a completely empty stomach, usually has an advantage in the star department. Amante definitely satisfied my appetite.

me and the homies set things off with the cheesebread. proper! although it took a minute my rosemary chicken ravioli came through. my only beef with this, is the portion size.

it seems like every italian restaurant assumes that because you're eating pasta you're on some kinda diet. and if you are on one, then the water glass should be a little more full. but in all fairness, one waitress had to hold it down for the entire restaurant.

if it's convenient this is a coo spot, but otherwise the prices don't make it worth making your way out to Greenlake.

Today I entered FRAUD HELL when I ordered from amante @ green lake. I ordered a lunch delivery over the phone and gave my credit card number and exp. date because I had no cash (who does anymore?!).  I don't normally give card numbers over the phone but felt ok about it because they're local and friendly and have great food. HUGE MISTAKE!!

Within 90 minutes an attempted charge of over $1000 was made online by someone who entered my credit card info manually..

    Endgame:

My bank account is now a negative balance and I have to meet with the police to file a fraud report  and press charges...not to mention it may take days to get any money returned to me IF they deem it fraud.. Isn't it illegal to print credit card information slips?? Mine was printed on THE DELIVERY TICKET so not only did the person who took my order have extended access, so did the delivery driver (from what I understand, these were the only 2 who had access to my information)

While they have great food, my lunch was NOT worth this hellish mess.. I will NEVER use their restaurant for food again and forget about trusting ANYONE with my info.

BTW: please disregard the 1 star rating.. I couldn't post this without it

Yelp- you need to give a negative star option!

When I am ill, or otherwise unable to cook, the rest of my household is always happy to order Amante's for delivery. As Italian food goes, it's a bit of a wash -- exceedingly heavy, often greasy, and the alfredo sauce tastes like no regular alfredo sauce I have ever experienced. This is also what makes this place awesome. The sauce they DO use for their alfredo tastes exactly like the cream stew roux used in Japanese cream stew, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Inadvertently, Amante's tortellini special hits on all of my favorite "comfort food" buttons -- cream stew, bacon, peas, and tortellini. Also of note, the honey mustard dressing they serve with the accompanied house salad is exactly like my grandmother used to make.

In sum: I would not consider Amante's for a hoity-toity romantic evening out, but as comfort food, just when you need it most?  This place definitely "delivers".

Alli: "OK, let me consult my handy-dandy calzonometer to find nearest place that makes them."
    Calzonometer: "Please. Stand. By...Processing...Processing...Ding!"
Alli: "Good news, Stomach! Amante just down the street, makes and delivers calzones! What sounds good?"
Alli's Stomach: "Veggie Calzone please. Oh yeah and make me some salad."

    *30 minutes later*

Calzonometer: "Calzone. Approaching. Please. Ready. Payment."
Alli's Stomach: "And make it snappy."
    Alli's Wallet: "$24.00? For 2 calzones? That's crazy talk!"
    Alli: "So worth it!"
Alli's Stomach: "Confirmed. Cheesy doughy veggie saucy goodness."
    Alli's Wallet: "Hmmph."

To summarize: VERY good pizza and calzones, but the price is a bit much. I only live a few blocks away so it usually takes half the time they say it will. (And on a more personal note, yes, I might have a minor personality disorder.)

We order from here weekly at least. It's reliable quality and tasty food. They deliver with a smile. It's a life-saver on the nights we can't figure out what to do for dinner.

I have eaten in the restaurant a handful of times. It's not the best experience, but what pizza joint is, really?

They have a couple of things in the restaurant that they don't have on the to go menu, like the avocado salad, which is great.

I have to be fair. I went again with my kids. The food was good. My kids had a good time and the service was very nice. Consistancy is what is needed though.

I may take my kids again, just because it does have a bit of a family atmosphere going on, except for the big shattered glass door at the entrance.

A tip rather then buy a huge traffic stopping sign....How about fix the front door that has been shattered for like 6 months.

Stopped in on a whim, and should have known it was going to be bad when there was not a sole in the place.

Even though we were the only ones there, it took the server forever to come over and take our order.  She was not rude, but didn't seem to care about us at all, no small talk, no "how are you", no "hello", nothing.  She just walked over and dumped menus on the table.

Finally was allowed to order, and requested a "Seafood" salad which was supposed to have shrimp and king crab.  What came was a bowl of shrimp and IMITATION crab smothered in a disgusting mayonnaise type sauce, absolutely drenched.  I tried to eat it but couldn't make a dent before getting a upset stomach.

Never once did the server ask us how we liked it, if we needed anything, or offer to refill our drinks.  She had absolutely no interest in serving us (part way through our meal another couple came in and got the same treatment).

Maybe it was a bad day and I ordered the worst thing on the menu as it seems they have a fantastic array of choices, but I won't tempt fate and ever go back.  Worst part is we both got sick after eating there, not food poisoning sick, just that sick feeling you get when you eat garbage food.

I love Amante.  They deliver.  To my house.  And then I don't have to go out on a cold night when I'm tired and in my pajamas the moment I get home from the office.

Did you know they deliver?  Yeah, its true.

Who cares if it's a buck too pricey (is it really though?) - they DELIVER.

Place that phone call and speak to the lovely sounding Eastern European? lady at the end of the phone line, place your order and in 40 minutes - DING DONG - you have you piping hot lasagna/tortellini special, crispy side salads (their blue cheese dressing is SO good, or you can get soup) and some tasty garlic bread to enjoy in the comfort of your home.  Note, I am not crazy about their pizzas (calzones are better though)!  Desserts are a little skimpy/boring too!

But, did you hear me - THEY DELIVER.

We have our 'Amante' night - where we order in & watch a movie when we're eating (the kiddies even love the food).

AND, you have enough leftover for your work lunch on Monday.

    I recommend.

Horrible customer service.  I had been a customer for about a year, and one day, I ordered a pizza with goat cheese.  It arrived with maybe a few balls of goat cheese--basically looked like a vegan pizza.  I called to complain (they should have told me that the goat cheese did not cover the whole pizza or suggested using half goat cheese, half mozzarella) but they blamed it on me!  The male manager was very rude and said there was nothing wrong with the pizza, goat cheese was expensive, blah, blah, blah.

They said they would refund my credit card, but surprise surprise, they didn't!  I lost $12 or so, but they lost my business for good.

Delicious pizzas and friendly wait staff. The menu is pretty big, too.

I have an unnaturally strong love for pizza. I say this because I delivered plenty of pizza in college, thus eating even more than the average, not-delivering-pizza student, and yet I still would eat it multiple times per week, finances & laziness cooperating.

I hadn't tried Amante before, nor even heard of them. However, their house special pie (including shredded pepperoni & pine nuts) tempted me with its similarity to Pegasus' "Tom's Special". And I live in the delivery area. And I've got a coupon for a free order of wings with the purchase of any large or x-large pie. What the hell, I'll give them a shot.

What a bland mistake. The crust - neither unobjectively thick, nor particularly thin & delicate, yet impressively bland & damp on the bottom. The sauce - particularly umimpressive, due to its lack of seasoning & general tomato-y goodness, and scarcity... I think it was applied via spray brush. The toppings - many in theory, but again disappointingly sparse in actuality. Yes, there were examples of each, but certainly not on every slice.

The wings? Eh, good thing they were free. Improved by liberal application of Frank's hot sauce & some time in a hot toaster oven.

The service? No complaints. Easy phone transaction, delivery sooner than indicated. Not enough to tempt me to order a second time, especially in lieu of the price. I'll go for Pizza Time if I want bland, mediocre pizza delivered - for half the price.

These guys are my heros. Once or twice a week I am too tired to cook but I want something healthy, they bring me avacado chicken salad... the best salad I have ever had delivered, maybe the best salad i've received from a restaurant. Nice mixed greens , a whole grilled chicken breast! Dressing on the side. YUMMY!
    Also the artichoke dip rocks!!!
There is probably one in your neighborhood!

First time eating at Amante and got some food to go.  I Ordered the Baked Fettucini with Chicken instead of Meatballs and holy deliciousness!  It was SO YUMMY!  It came with a side salad and two delectable pieces of garlic bread and was enough food to easily feed to people!   My husband had a Calzone with Pepperoni, Mozzarella and Onions and it was also huge!  We both easily got two meals out of our food and enjoyed every bite!  I will definitely be ordering from here again when I don't feel like cooking!

Had delivery sent to me for the first time last weekend and I found that the pizza was very good.  I liked the dough, crisp on the outside, not too thick, and very flavorful, can tell it is either made there or they have one hell of a pizza dough vendor.  Everything tastes very fresh and I want to go check out the actual place (when I get time off to try other things on their menu (plus they have beer lol).

I've order Pizza from this location and the Capitol Hill one and each time I was greeted by a hot italian woman. I think it's a requirement in order to work there. I ordered a specialty pizza on first and second visit and it was amazing, third time though which was a pepperoni pizza was a gut-bomb. Three stars the pizza, one star for the atmospere and eye candy!

The House Special pizza is delicious. I was impressed by their large variety of specialty pizzas. Dine in was fine, they had Mac and Jacks on tap which was great, and the service was a solid average. They brought the apps out before the pizza, which I appreciated, I hate places that bring everything out at once. Only been here once so this is more like 3.5 stars, but I'll definitely be back.

Shame on me, why didn't I check yelp before going to this restaurant? I intended on ordering pizza but was lured into getting the pasta. Bad decision! The pasta tasted like something I could make at home with store bought pasta and canned sauce. Definitely not worth the $14 I paid. Our waiter was friendly and had a very nice smile, I think that's the only reason why I'm giving it two stars.

hnestly, i go here for their side salad.  its the most basic salad ever but SO good. romaine with lots of mozzarella and olives. and then it comes with one slice of tomato and one slice of cucumber so i can say i ate other veggies!  their caesar dressing is also pretty yummy.

the pizza is also really good. i usually get the amante special and its great reheated too.

the pasta is just so/so.  its pasta but there is nothing exciting enough about it to not boil it at my house instead.  also, the breadsticks should be skipped, theyre really not very good at all.

the service has always been really good but i still just dont love the restaurants, i think it may be the lighting or something.  but its worth it, and delivery is always yummy.

have subsequently ordered 2 more times.   I don't blame Amante, I  live - - -how many blocks away?? at 10th Ave NW  - - - esentially a long ways away from them.  Last 2 pies have arrived sadly cold = gooey.    again, not their fault, just advise if you live a-ways away, even though you reside in their delivery area, I recommend you comb your pony-tail, put on clean sweats & drive to Greenlake for delicous pie :-)

Normally I order my delivery pizza from Papa John's, but decided to try something different and ordered a pizza for delivery from Amante Greenlake.
I based my choice on the reviews here, but unfortunately for me I read the Northgate restaurant review which is rated at 4 stars.
The pizza was delivered promptly, but that is where the positives end. The best way to describe the crust is oily and wet. All the toppings slid off as I picked up a piece. The crust itself is does not taste very good, although it is very likely hand made from scratch, as it has sort of a bread like taste to it.
Overall this was a big disappointment especially considering that Papa John's pizza is $10 cheaper and better tasting.
My advice is that if you just want pizza delivered skip this place and order from somewhere else.

Had a BBQ Chicken Calzone and Nachos (NOT in one sitting, lol!).  It was scrumptious.

BTW, the portions are HUGE.  This will last me several days.  Pretty good deal for the price.

I really like this place for a casual dinner out with our 2 kids (6,7).  It's light on 'ambiance' but the three times we've been, it's quiet and clean--great for a weeknight meal.  They do have unique soundtracks.  The food is quite good, ingredients fresh, salads tasty. Portions are enormous for a single person (we do family style) and well priced.  Service was prefectly fine.

Foodwise, I think Amante's much better than than Greenlake Bar and Grill which I find pretty generic and poorly executed.

Amante's has quickly ceased to impress me.  The last time I ordered from them, I indicated that I would be paying cash.  When my food arrived, the delivery driver wanted me to sign a credit card receipt for the exact same cost of my food charged to a card I don't own!  He didn't seem to understand what I was saying, so I called the restaurant, asking for the manager.  She was unbelievably rude, as is the norm whenever I've called there about an issue with my order.  I can't believe they'd charge someone else for my food, take my money for my food, AND get pissy when I call them about the problem.  I won't ever order from them again, as my credit card information is OBVIOUSLY not secure.

Like that super-smart computer guy you know who is witty, fun and charming in a virtual environment, but does not make the best impression in person, Amante of Greenlake should be solely enjoyed in the privacy of your home.  They get my vote for very fast delivery, hot, to your door, and very good pizza.  Nice thin-but-doughy, crisp on-the-outside crust, spicy sauce.  Fresh ingredients.  If we rate them only on pizza and delivery of said, I give them 5 stars!  That is their forte -- that is what they should stick to.  The rest of the non-pizza offerings at this establishment are just OK --  definitely not crossing the bar into the "wow that was good" zone. The in-restaurant dining experience is always a bit weird, because almost no one is ever in there -- it's like a "ghost restaurant" in one of the best locations in Greenlake and the decor is 1980s mauve-meets-grandma's upholstery.  My husband likes their calzones.  Maybe it's just my palate, but I don't even like those -- or dislike them -- again, they are OK.   if we had a better Italian option close by, we would go there -- I am finally (after many, many optimistic tries) giving up on everything except their pizza. The service in-restaurant is nice, but a little too laissez-faire, especially since they don't have anyone else to wait on.  You will see them only when it's time to order, when the food comes, and when the bill comes.  The service on the phone and by delivery has been very good.    One potential good thing -- your large group could come here and no one would have to wait for a table  -- especially when the Greenlake
Bar & Grill has a 45 minute wait on Friday and Saturday nights!

YUM!!!!!!!!!!!  I have gotten about 5 pizzas from Amante's in Greenlake in the past  months, and all were delicious!  Mind you I can only tell you what the vegetarian pizzas are like, but my friends also ordered a Siciliano which they said was very tasty (I took their word on it).  My favorite by far is the Margherita (maybe it's just the alcohol word association!).  LOTS of vegetarian options with lots of creative variety.  There's also a good variety of pasta, grinders, calzones and even a low-card menu.  EVERYONE can find something delicious here!
