Review from Lisa B.
Amante's is near my work and some coworkers ordered this pizza so I had to try a slice because it smelt so delicious. Hands down, one of the most amazing pizza's I've ever eaten. BELLA LUNA was the pizza that was ordered, it has pine nuts, goat cheese, roasted garlic, and a light olive oil sauce. YUM!
I am on a raw food kick, so I dont eat much pizza, or any cooked foods for that matter, but they have some salads that sound delicious so I will have to go back and try them out!
LOVE, LOVE, LOVED Amantes!!! -

I'm a pasta lover and I'm a frequent Olive Garden guest. Two weeks ago I didn't feel like driving so we said why not give this place a try. We went in, got our menus and the first thing we noticed is that they didn't had kids meals, big no-no, even Maggiano's in Bellevue has kids meals.
After 20 minutes, we noticed that the people around us who got to the restaurant at the same time we did, were getting some type of food (salad or main dishes) and we were not. A few minutes after our server (Ivan - the name on the bill) came with our main dishes and I mention that on the menu said that the meal came with salad or soup. He started arguing with me and said that I was supposed to tell him ahead of time, how I was supposed to know if it was OUR FIRST TIME IN THE RESTAURANT?!! Every Italian placed I been to, they always ask for my preference, I never had to ask for it. At the end he brought a salad, which I really regret asking for because it was just horrible.
I ordered the Chicken Penne pasta which comes with artichoke hearts, well.. half of the plate was just the artichoke hearts and I know this for a fact because I don't like it and I put all the hearts on one side of my plate, at the end, half of my plate was full of it. For my two kids, I ordered the Spaghetti with meat sauce to share, something simple and something that I know they will eat for sure. When I realized they were eating really slow, I tried it and it was disgusting (later on, in the car they told me that they preferred the spaghetti with the Prego sauce I make at home!)
My husband ordered the Rosemary Chicken Ravioli, it wasn't as bad as the other two dishes but we tried better food.
Maybe they have other things that are good, but if my kids say that I make better pasta at home... is not worth it trying this place again. I personally regret going to this place and not driving all the way to Olive Garden at Southcenter. -

This place was amazing! We've driven by the restaurant for years and always talked about going and never did, so glad we went in tonight!
We are foodies through and through and this places impressed us on all levels. Great home made cooking, fresh breads and pastas, flavorful sauces and unique spices. We had a few pasta dishes, breadsticks, salad, wine and grinders. Everything was above our expectations!
We are frequent guests of the Cheesecake Factory, Spaghetti Factory, Mama Stortini's and Olive Garden. This place is BETTER. Portions are huge, I mean, ask for a box when you order, HUGE. I have lunch and dinner for tomorrow just from ONE plate of pasta.
Our waiter was great and very helpful and they had a good variety in wine with something for everyone.
This is our new "place". Can't wait to go back and try more.
Oh, I forgot to mention...
This amazing service and outstanding quality in food was during a huge snow and ice storm that hit Western Washington. Through power outages, falling trees and car accidents everywhere Amante's stayed open with a full menu and wonderful service.

With no transportation and a mad craving for Italian food, My hopes of having some tasty pasta where shrinking fast. Then I remembered, I had pulled a menu for a pizza and pasta place out of the crack in my door a few weeks prior. I also believe it said something about delivery on it. I dug thru the piles of junk mail and coupons on my dining room table. Ah ha! now the moment of truth. BINGO! Not only do they deliver, but it for the low, low price of FREE!! I called the number and happily told the pleasant lady on the other end of the phone what I wanted. She told me it would be 45 to 50 mins. At that point, 50 mins sounded a-ok!
In no time, there was a knock on my front door. I signed for the bill, ripped the food from that slightly terrified young mans hands, said thank you and swiftly shut the door. I grabbed 2 plates (one for me and one for my equally hungry man) and we dished up. I ordered cheese bread (which was the most glorious cheese bread I have ever had, slightly crispy on the bottom and smothered in melty, bubbly cheese), a 12' Spartacus pizza (Olive Oil based sauce, onions, Greek olives, feta cheese, gyro meat, mozzarella and parmesan cheese. Served with tzatziki sauce), Baked Fettuccini Fromaggio ( fettuccini pasta covered in alfredo sauce served with meatballs and topped with gorgonzola, mozzarella and parmesan cheese), and a 2-liter of cola. I know, I sound like a fatty pants but goodness, I couldn't stop myself. Everything on that menu sounded amazing. And everything I got was satisfying. -

Affordable Italian-like food in HUGE portions.
I enjoy this place. While it is mostly Italian, I suppose a better description would be "pizza and pasta restaurant" (like the name of the place implies). The service (very friendly and prompt) and food are good and reasonably-priced. You can easily feed two adults when sharing a calzone or pasta dish - or, do as we did, we each had our own entree and side (soup or salad) and took home enough leftovers for lunch at work the next day.
The soup (Italian wedding) and the garlic bread was nothing special, and I think they tend to go overboard on the cheese, but overall, the flavor is good and food served warm-hot.
Free parking. Located in a Kent strip mall off of SR 167 about 5-10 minutes south of IKEA.
Similar types of experiences: Pegasus (Renton Highlands and Alki) or Vince's (Renton and elsewhere). -

Best pasta I have ever had period! My dad LOVES their pizza, and hes picky as heck. The pizza are HUGE and they are truly gourmet and fresh.
The choices, of everything from pizza, to pastas are truly UNIQUE!
The salad that comes with the meal is big too, oh and the bread.. just like my grandmother & i used to make. that was so wonderful.
Friendly staff, clean place, Nicely decorated, good for a romantic date.
I saw some of the other dishes being brought out & i about died, i wanted more!

Kent Amante lovers, something you should know... I was happy to be a loyal customer. GREAT FOOD, WOW!!! Recently an unfortunate situation happened. Fraudulant activity took place while using my CC for my delivery this particular day. The young driver who delivered, & in whom I had suspicions about. Charged an extra $12 gratuity on top of the tip I had given.
Good thing I am constantly checking my CC activity,,,, My CC company got a hold of the manager to explain the situation, and the manager told me he would look into it and get back to me within a few days. HE NEVER DID! From todays date, it has been over a month, and I have not heard anything yet.
This could be happening to you every time you order with your CC,,, maybe you just dont know it, but I hope this does'nt happen to you. Great way for a business to loose everything, with this FRAUDULANT activity happening!!! Maybe the 'driver' is hopefuly NO LONGER working their. Even still I should have heard something by now REGARDLESS!!
MY RATING FOR THIS PLACE APPLIES TO THE FOOD ONLY!!! -

My wife and I have been her twice now and will certainly be going back. I am actually surprised that both times we went there they were not busy at all but I do not remember the time of day for either visit so maybe we just missed a rush. So it being almost empty both times we seated ourselves, had immediate service and were eating in what seemed like seconds.
We both ordered the Chicken parm on our first visit. It was enough food to feed 5 or 6 people. The plate was huge and covered in some very delicious cheese topping. The sauce was OK and the chicken breast thin with a nice breading. The spaghetti was ample but the sauce not remarkable. And the garlic bread was a great compliment to the meal.
Our next visit we ordered the mozzarella cheese sticks and I fell in love. They remark on their menu that they use the best cheese money can buy and I cannot deny them that. They were delicious.
My wife ordered the 1/2 Greek salad with no onions and really enjoyed it. She like the dressing, portion size and loved the entire meal.
I ordered a cold cut grinder that was very meaty and cheesy and HUGE. Once again I was treated to a pile of mozzarella as part of a good sandwich. but I was so full on cheese stick I barely ate 1/4 of my sandwich. The waiter was very concerned that I did not like my meal but I assured him it was great, I was just already full. The only thing I would do different on the grinder is toast the bread.
Next we plan on trying the pizza which has so many choices I am not even sure what we will order.
Overall I am voting this as the 2nd best Italian restaurant in Kent. -

We got a pizza to go. It was good. I like cheesy pizzas and this one hit the spot. I would go back next time I am in town.

Love the selections for pizza. They even have a taco pizza that surprisingly tastes really good! Careful when ordering the pasta, they give you a lot so expect to take some home for lunch the next day. Don't let the outside of the building fool you. When you walk in the place doesn't look like it's in a strip mall. It's a very homey atmosphere.
My husband & I just discovered that they deliver to our house. We live about 15 minutes away. -

Wow. what a nice surprise! I have to admit that both times we've been to this location the place has been pretty empty. Usually that's a bad sign and we would have turned around and gone somewhere else. Instead we faced our fears and headed in and have been happy and FULL ever since!
Since moving to Kent we have been searching for a nice pizza place other than a pizza chain and after a year of searching (I guess we didn't search TOO hard.haha) we found Amante. We have been there twice so far and really like it. The portions are ENORMOUS! So unless you have a massive appetite, then plan to share or take home extras for lunch the next day. The pizza is fantastic and reheated well. The Calzones are literally the size of half a dinner plate and the calzome crust is so buttery and tasty! The fettuccine alfredo is massive. It comes with salad and garlic bread, and the pasta takes up an entire plate. Only a competitive eater could conquer that plate and finish it. Usually with such large servings you'd expect a little skimping on quality or taste. NOPE, not here. Everything tastes really good. -

This is the best small pizza place I have found in Kent. Thanks to another reviewer I tried the cheesy bread. Oh my goodness, the ooey gooey greatness of this appetizer. My friend and I absolutely loved it. The meat calzone I had was awesome, and was big enough to be a lunch the next day. There food is so good that it even reheated well.
The service was also attentive without being annoying. I will definitely be going back -

We ordered the Napoli pizza and a pasta dish because we read they were the best thing to order. I wish I liked it, but I only thought it was okay. The portions are huge but the taste just wasn't there for me. They do offer A LOT of options and I would definitely go back to try their other dishes... just didnt like the two I got.
UPDATE: came back because we had a coupon... so glad we did. We ordered the cheese bread, four cheese baked spagghetti and meatball sub... all three things delicious. There portions are huge too so you definitely get your moneys worth. We got there at 6pm and 20 minutes later the place was packed.
We will defnitely come back when we''re craving some italian. -

We moved to Seattle 3 years ago and quickly made this place our home! The pizza is fantastic (dominoes makes me want to vomit), the restaurant is nicely decorated and the service is always fast. They have more than just pizza (DB recommends the chicken sub) and you can get a glass of wine w/ dinner if you are so inclined (beat that pizza hut!).
Their delivery is about 45 minutes and there is no charge and you always get a stack of coupons to less then cost. It's about $25 for a large which we feel is very reasonable for 'real' pizza.
We ended up loving it so much we had our daughters 1st birthday there this past October! -

Warning: Don't judge the restaurant by its location or exterior appearance!
Three of us went to an early dinner on a Saturday night. This was our first time at the Kent, WA location. There was only one other customer in the restaurant and during our stay just a takeout order and another couple arrived. So business was not brisk, but we arrived at about 5:15 PM so we may have missed the evening "rush".
We started off with two half salads. The Greek salad and the Shopska salad. I can't imagine the size of a whole salad. The three of us could have split a single half salad, so you can imagine that the portions were large. Big portions don't always translate into good taste, but in this case both salads were excellent. Feta cheese is one of our favorite ingredients and there was lots of it, so these both got 5 stars from the table.
Next we requested the large size (15") Margherita pizza. This is usually a good test for any Italian restaurant because it is so easy to screw up. Not so at Amante. The pizza was perfect, right down to the East Coast style extra strings of cheese connected from platter to plate when serving.
Service was good. We had only two place settings (napkin, knife, fork) for the three of us and eventually had to request a third one when my salad arrive. Unfortunately, the second salad (Shopska) took a really long time to show up at the table. This worked out because we then ended up sharing the salad until the second arrived.
Drinks were iced tea and water which were never empty for long.
Atmosphere was better than expected after accessing the exterior. However, it was your basic pizza joint setup, some booths and the rest tables. Music was loud enough to hear, while not being over bearing. The late afternoon sun was an issue as our dinner came to a close, but not a real problem. There were far more cooks and waiters than customers, but everyone was very friendly while not in-your-face-ish.
Seemed kind of spendy for the kind of atmosphere, but I think good food is worth it regardless of the decor.
Overall, this one is a great find and we will return to test out the other items on the menu.
P.S. This restaurant is not just Italian, they have American traditional and Greek. Very reminiscent of the East Coast Philly-style Italian restaurant with a few extras added. -

Came here for an early dinner with a friend. The pizza was pretty good - not bad but not fantastic. I was able to get artichokes for a topping which seemed pretty unique to me. I was happy with the beer selection (ordered a Fat Tire) They were not very busy and the service was good. If I'm ever back in town I would come again for lunch or dinner.

They have a ton of choices on their menu. Lots of pasta dishes, a huge selection of pizzas, calzones, grinders, etc. I love all their food, even just the simple tortellini alfredo is delicious, and the seafood penne is fantastic. They have a wide variety of pizza toppings and I've enjoyed all the different types I've tried.
I used to go to the Renton location regularly, but after moving from there I've been going to this Kent location instead. It just isn't the same. The service is never as good as I experienced in Renton, the food just isn't quite as tasty, and the atmosphere just isn't the same.
I think the next time I'm craving Amante, I'll drive the extra distance to the Renton location.
The prices are very reasonable, and I have never had a problem finding parking. -

Amante, Amante, Amante! We found this place after Fondi's closed down and we refused to order from Domino's, pizza hut or Papa Johns (yuck!). We have easily ordered delivery a dozen times. The Gorgonzola Guru pizza is by far the best, along with the Roma! The combination of flavors is amazing! The shopska salad reminds me of a classic greek salad, but with more flavor. The Putanessca pasta, again has a ton a flavor and so much going on! The portions are great and large enough to carry on to lunch the next day. The calzones are tasty as well as the chicken Caesar hot sub. We have tried just about everything and while some of the appetizers are less to be desired, the salads and entrees are fresh, hot, flavorful and worth every penny! We will continue to order from Amante's again and again!

I tried to give this location a chance, I used to frequent the Renton location a few years ago. I have gone here 3 times and been disappointed every time. The plus is they are never very busy, and I actually love their ranch salad with olives and mozzarella.
On our last visit I ordered the cheese tortellini with alfredo. The pasta was way over cooked and mushy and the alfredo tasted like it came from a jar, thin with little flavor.
My wife had the stuffed cannelloni and it was just SWIMMING in meatsauce because the server didn't ask what kind of sauce she preferred. Also cannelloni we have ordered in the past comes with spaghetti or other noodles but this came with nothing.
We had a coupon for free dessert and the mud pie was ok. We won't be coming back after giving them three chances, try Mama Stortini's instead. -

my wife and i pulled up outside of amante's after seeing it several times and wondering if it was any good.
there were 4 or 5 cars in the parking lot but it was a little late... however, the dining room was not very inviting from outside. based on our 'diners. drive-ins and dives' viewing though, we know that you can't judge a book by its cover:)
we are soooo glad we went in! we split a small #18 napoli pizza and the baked fettuccini fromaggio (and had plenty of leftovers!) and this stuff was AMAZING!
we will definitely be back and they deliver too!! -

After receiving a mailer we decided to try the place out. We had a very good dine in experience. The menu options are endless. Appetizers, Salads, Pastas and Pizza. They offer unique pizza toppings that your average fast food pizza place doesn't offer; Feta, artichoke hearts, basil, etc. We ordered pasta and a calzone. The portions are HUGE! The food is delicious. Service was great. I'm definately going to try them again. Can't wait....they DELIVER!!

This was my first visit to Amantes and will definately be back. We started off with a Greek salad, decided to go for a half and that worked out perfect, plenty of salad for two. The baslamic and olive oil dressing was perfect on this salad and every ingredient very fresh. We then ordered the Amantes special pizza and have to give it one of the best pizza's I have had in a while, the quality of ingredients and flavor were very very good, even warmed up later it was good. The service was outstanding from the time we entered until the time we left.

i ate at this restaurant with 3 other people on a saturday night. i was very skeptical upon walking into this place and sitting in a booth with a rock hard cushion. first off, i'd have to say that their customer service is terrible. we sat down and waited about 2min before the server plopped down 3 menus (remember, we were a table of 4). she didnt come back to ask if we wanted drinks for another 5min or so. in my book, this drops your tip way down. but i did notice that they must have been short staffed. the 2 girls were working hard to get food to everyone. so we awaited the food...
the food was surprisingly satisfying. i just wanted a caesar salad with chicken, and didnt really want any pizza for myself. my table ordered 2 pizzas and the cheese bread. my "half" order of salad was huge. it was definitely entree sized. the chicken they added was basically small chunks (the same as they add to their pizzas). i really enjoyed my salad.
we also really enjoyed the cheesey bread. it had a nice crisp crust and a nice cheese to bread ratio.
the pizza its self was delicious. ok, probably not the best pizza in the seattle area. but it was loaded with chicken artichoke, tomatoes, and cheese. again, it had a nice crisp crust. i'd like to try their taco pizza one day!
i came in very skeptical, and i came out very satisfied. it was a refreshing syle of pizza- other than greasey take out from larger chain delivery places. just need to work on customer service. -

Really? If doughy two day old tasting soggy pizza is your thing then this could be for you. It may be possible that pizza hut is better. I love pizza, both Chicago and New York styles. This is neither, this is high school cafeteria mall food. The salad came with browning avocado, a ton of red onion and an underdeveloped dressing. How this place managed to get 4.5 stars is a mystery as are the crop circles and stone henge.
