Their steaks have ruined me for eating any lesser meats. Simply the best cuts around.

The prices are reasonable and the meat is always good, not to mention they have a good selection of it. The people are also very friendly and helpful, they also have summer grilling and the menu is pretty nice. I usually come here to get some steaks or meet Friends for lunch and every time i come I'm pretty satisfied.
Its pretty busy during lunch time the lines can be long so come early. -

I had high hopes, thought it was going to be a great butcher shop. It seemed to me to be focused on quantity, not quality. I'll try it again.

Great place. Ended up here for lunch one day and happened into to store. I was really impressed with the tremendous offerings inside; I was not expecting a whole lot being in Peoria, and they definitely delivered. Very friendly staff and quite knowledgeable.
The summer grilling menu is pretty nice. I got a spicy link and hotdog and was pleasantly surprised. They definitely will be a frequent lunch stop this summer. -

The meat itself is pretty pricey, but worth the money.
The one thing I love about this place though, is that during the summer they have a grill outside and sell sandwiches for $5. Porkchop or sirloin and they are fabulous. It goes from April-September 11am-1pm. It's a short window of time but totally worth it for an excellent lunch. You can smell the delicious aroma's all down War Memorial.
They just opened it up for the season and I know I'll be stopping in Saturday to get some. -

If you look at their prices alone, you will probably think they are high. After you compare the amount and quality of the actual MEAT (vs fat and connective tissue that other stores sell), Alwan's comes out a clear winner in both quality AND value. When you consider this, their prices are actually reasonable. I frequently purchase their butterfly sirloin, t-bone and porterhouse; each has always been outstanding, steakhouse (or better) quality meat. Their bratwurst are also very good. The only reason I would not give them 5 stars is they outright refuse to take Mrf's coupons on items. While it's true that is their option to accept or decline any coupon they did not print, I believe they should because it's just a good customer service practice.

Alwans and Sons Meat Company is the only place I will shop for meat in Peoria. If you have not been to the store, go. It is new, huge, great ethnic products, produce, beers and wine and of course - - an amazing meat case. The grill is open everyday in the summer and they offer affordable sandwiches right off the grill. Alwan's is a Peoria institution.

After you go to Aldi to pick up your staples, cross the street for all of your meat needs.
They have a wide selection of sliced meats and cheeses in their deli section and a giant meat section to house their pork, beef, and chicken cuts.
The store is clean, the people are nice, and the prices are right. For a traditional butcher experience head to Alwan and Son's Meat Company. -

This is the place to get the best cuts of meat in Ptown. They also have a large selection of homemade items like jam, spice rubs, hot sauces, barbecue sauces and many other hard to find items. They also have Amish Egg noodles that are the best noodle you can get for chicken noodle soup.

What I like best about this place is the sign outside saying "Deer Dropoff in back". Get your freshly shot deer carved up here, and also get any type of meat product you need. I like the sliced meat section and the varied steak choices (what is a "hotel steak" exactly). They also have all the ready to deep fry foods that you might want. A good choice to get your bbq necessities...
