INCREDIBLE.
Like Dietrich said, it's sites like this that will slowly turn me into a gear head ... Or what I like to say, a tactical sportswear head ;)
I love everything I have bought here. Backpacks, jackets, waterbottles ....
I ordered a North Face Beanie from here once.
I got a phone call the next day froma super nice guy, who sounded like he could have been my neighbor, apologizing, letting me know they didn't have it in stock. I was totally okay with it, and he was honestly sincere. And we talked about how sweet the beanie was. -

Never got my refund from http://Altrec.com. I finally called the credit card company and gave them all the sad detailed information. Money was refunded immediately. Evidently, to http://Altrec.com "100% Satisfaction" means http://Altrec.com will be 100% satisfied taking your money, receiving a return, and giving you the run around forever. Thank God I paid with a credit card.

I would never shop here again and would suggest others look elsewhere. It's not like there aren't a ton of online gear/clothing suppliers out there. The prices are just as high as other places and there are giagantic holes in the 100% satisfaction guarantee promise. At least other online stores are honest about not caring if you're happy or not.
I'm not going to go into my boring situation, but I had a problem with a return. They had absolutely no interest in helping when I expressed by distress--I did express it in a polite way! After that, I googled them and customer service issues. I've found a number of online reviews that complained about their bad customer service. So I concur with those reviews. -

Read and heed the warnings of previous disgruntled customers that have posted here.
I called them and they were willing to ship my shoes for free, to match Zappo's free shipping. While she was collecting my information, I thought it would be best to ask if they would pay for return shipping as well, like Zappo's. Ohhhhhhhh, now the story changed. They would NOT. She said that they 'just couldn't do that.' When I asked them why not - if Zappo's can do it, so can you. She became short with me and said that they just don't. That's how it is! This aggressive tone with me pretty much killed this sale. She tried to make me feel like I was getting a deal because they were selling the shoes to me for less than Zappo's - a whole 5 CENTS!!!!! I told her that for 5 cents, I will go with Zappo's and get the free return shipping.
This company is trying to compete with the big guys but they don't have the business savvy to do so.
STAY AWAY FROM THEM!!!! -

I'm a gear head. I can't and won't deny it. Everyday I'll peruse websites looking for deals on fleece, softshells, jackets, rain shells, backpacks, you name it. I probably have 2 of everything. A waste? Maybe, but it's just so fun.

This means you can return it anytime for any reason. Spectacular.

BEWARE! AVOID THIS RIPOFF JOINT! I bought a North Face jacket for my granddaughter for her birthday. I live less than a 4 hour drive from this placebut it took over 7 days to get my purchase. Altrec stated that it was shipped the next day after I bought it and would receive it a day after that. That never happened. I called customer service two times and was told two different things from the same guy. It turns out that they never shipped anything until almost a week after I bought it plus they shipped the wrong thing! BEWARE OF THE LIES AND RIPOFFS FROM Altrec!

I purchased a down vest from their website but had to return it as it was the wrong color and size. I contact customer care to report the error and the agent arranged for overnight delivery of the correct item. Unbelievable! Further, the agent, Cody, gave me his direct ext. if I had any additional questions. Great experience.

This is the WORST company to order from. It took over 10 days for it to come from OR to MD. I ordered a helmet that didn't come in time for a ski trip. And they won't issue pre-paid shipping return labels. They claim they lose money because they have to destroy the helmet! NEVER ordering from them again!!

I ordered The North Face backpack (Borelais SE denim) which was on sale, and it was better than I could have expected. This was my first time using http://Altrec.com and didn't know what to expect. The item was shipped fast and definitely looking forward to ordering from them again.
