Been going to Altomonte's all my life.......need I say more? Ok, I will. Great bread, awesome cheese selection and plenty of great olive oil.. Also can buy local wine there too!

I love Altomonte's. My family has been going here since it was on County Line Rd in Warminster. It's my #1 spot in Warminster to get hoagies. The deli really isn't that much of a deal, I tend to get better deals at BJ's deli counter. But the breads are great, and I love to grab the thin sliced steak/chicken to make cheesesteaks at home. The staff is also very nice.

My favorite Italian store in the burbs. It's not 9th Street in South Philly, but it is very good, sufficient and more than adequate, and saves me a 45 minute drive into town.
Compared to other Italian stores in the burbs, this beats them by a ton. Their prices are very reasonable, every day olive oil, the big jar of anchovies, the selection of cheeses, the vinegars, the olives, and where they really excel is their meats. Get some veal scallopine, or some hot italian sausage, or some NY Strips, or rib eye, all excellent. Almost as reasonable as a regular grocery store, but the quality far exceeds them.
Get a slice of tomato pie for the ride home in the car. Grab some cheeses and Italian sausage or pepperoni for a snack, buy some frozen ravioli for a quick dinner, pick up some fresh produce, all there for the taking, and all making my mouth water as I type.
I've never had one of their sandwiches or platters or prepared foods, so I cannot comment.
But this place is solid...book it!! -

A group of us stopped by for sandwiches one day - I can't review the grocery, but the sandwich was fine. Nothing exceptional, unless you count the fact that the regular was about a mile long for roughly $7. Definitely value, with very nice ingredients, especially the salami, on my sort of...classic italian. One of our group had an amusing issue trying to convince the gentleman behind the counter to warm up his roast beef and mozzarella sandwich...they have hot sandwiches, and thus ovens, but this concept befuddled the sandwich artist.
The grocery looks nice, with lots of specialty items and baked goods, tomato pies to go (which seem to be a "thing," I've never personally experienced) and very nice looking meats at the butcher counter. If I lived in the area, I think I'd be back again for a quick lunch sandwich. -

I am giving them 5 stars (when in reality they are more of a 4 star place) due to the PHENOMENAL service we received. Angela - the (then) event planner helped us plan and cater a 70 person party. They provided 2 (high school aged, but very competent) servers, all the pans, sterno and GREAT, GRAT food.
We had a fresh green salad, tomatoe pie (cut in squares on platters), Insalata Caprese, Sausage & Peppers, Pasta with mini meatballs, and a delicious Chicken Francese.
The food was marvelous and the amounts we ordered fed everyone with some (not not a ridiculous amount) of leftovers. Perfect budgeting and execution.
Lovely!!! I receommend them for catering for sure. In our case (big order) they delivered and set up everything (for a fee).Listed in: Flam gets it Catered...

This is a pretty cool Italian market, at least for out here in the
Burbs. The hoagies are just OK, I don't like that they use shredded lettuce, Call me picky . They have good sandwiches like their Chicken Cutlet with Broccoli Rabe and Sharp Provolone, and good Italian salads. They also have a little bakery where I think the cookies are home made and really good, especially the Pine Nut cookies. Catering is also available and I have used them for a party before and the food was delicious. Their Italian Chicken Wings are especially GOOD! -

A taste of the Italian Market in the suburbs! Altomonte's a pretty good place with a great selection of Italian goods.
The positives:
-Very good tomato pie
-Pretty good hoagies and hot sandwiches
-Relatively friendly service
-They sell Manhattan Specials
-Outstanding marinated mozzarella
The negatives:
-They've been known to screw up orders
-That creepy owl on the top of the sign of another business in this strip mall that freaks me out every time.
-EXPENSIVE
Altomonte's is good if you can't make it to the Italian Market, but I'd rather spend the extra time and make the extra effort to go to DiBruno Brothers. -

Great food offerings, but they do tend to be expensive. I like being able to purchase authentic Italian in the area without going to the city.
Italian garden seeds from Italy in the spring! Fantastic olives and cheeses.
HOWEVER....
I bought some cannoli forms awhile back, when I got home they were full of dough!!! GROSS! Too far to drive to return something costing a few dollars.
I thought it was odd that this should happen, because both locations are very clean. Customer service is excellent at both. Maybe something was overlooked? Superb service at the deli counter.
So, go for the food, which is superb, especially their cooked foods, and hoagies and, well, anything food sold there, but I would check anything I buy such as cannolli forms and such prior to paying for it.
The location in Doylestown said I had to have a plastic bag for one small item. I understand why they want this, probably for security reasons, but I was going directly out and had the receipt, and I try to avoid bags when I can for environmental reasons. I expect any small biz I patronize to share the same concern.
I wish they would carry Italian language newspapers again. -

Best Italian deli scene outside of South Philly! Terrific store made bread and rolls. Excellent selection of lunch meats and selections you typically don't see in your standard fare deli or supermarket. Wonderful homemade salads and entrees you can take home and reheat. Love their homemade sauces (the Country Style is my absolute favorite). Lots of homemade entrees in party sizes are in their freezer section. I just them all of the time for parties, etc. Very nice butcher shop and selection of quality meats, cheeses, etc. A real gem!
