I have been coming here for years (maybe an entire decade) and every single alteration has been perfect. I even had my prom dress altered here (taken in, hemmed shorter) and it fit like a glove.

After getting an alterations quote at Trudy's for my wedding dress, I fell in the "oh, crap, how much is this whole wedding is going to cost" mode. The alterations price was the same as the cost of my dress! Granted, I am sure they do a fine job over there, but the mark-up was just insane.
So, I came to Alterations To Go and they did a fabulous, reasonably priced job with my dress. I needed to hem and bustle my gown as well as take-in the bust area. I also needed a custom sash.
Larissa is a master at her craft. She truly understands the female form and created a beautiful, perfectly tailored gown that looked exactly like the vision in my mind. In fact, my dress didn't come with the fixings needed for a bustle and she had to make everything from scratch. The end result was gorgeous and I had a ton of compliments just on the bustle alone.
I highly highly recommend this place for your wedding dress as well as just for regular ol' street clothes alterations. -

Cash only! =]
Trustworthy enough to handle your most expensive jeans! I was happy with the quality of work they provided me with. They just caught me off guard with the cash only thing... so I had to run into grocery store and get some cash before getting my clothes.
Convenient location. Fast and clean!
Make sure to bring the shoes that you'll be wearing with your clothes as they make you try on your clothes. -

I go here all the time, and they do an amazing job. They stand behind their quality, and I am confident I will get exactly what I want. There are no surprises - I know how my clothes will look, and how much I will have to pay, so I can make a calculated decision that I know I will be happy with.
I want my clothes to fit me perfectly, and this place helps me to achieve just that. I trust their opinion and taste. To me, when choosing a tailor, it's just as important as when I choose a hairdresser. I know I can count on them to give me an honest advice. I don't need sugar-coated lies to make myself feel better. I want an honest opinion to make an honest assessment so that I can get the best results possible.
This is a great team of two very skillful and hardworking women. -

I have had a few pairs of pants altered here, and they do a very good job. It is a bit more pricey than your average cleaner/tailor, but I have never had a problem with uneven hems- it is definitely worth the cost. I also do not mind that the owners are from Russia, and to judge a place of business on the fact that the people who work there have accents is really closed minded...maybe you shouldn't live somewhere as diverse as the bay area.

I didn't get my bridesmaid dress altered here and deciding to go to another seamstress. She was professional but cold. She pinned my dress (which was big at the top, all the other bridesmaids had the SAME issue) way too high, it had an empire waist with bow that should have been under the bust however she pinned it in the middle of my bust. I am nursing so am large right now and asked her if there was something different she could do. She said the dress was unflattering to my figure, I am too big on top and thats the way it is. The last straw was when she broke down the pricing to me and came to $150. As politely as I could I stated it was much more than I had anticipated as other bridesmaids with similar alterations were getting quoted $60-80. She said those tailor's work is questionable. After all this, I couldn't leave my dress with her and told her I need to think about it more and she grabbed the dress from me to take her pins out. I left feeling miserable, ugly, dreading the wedding and having to wear this dress for an entire day.
If you are looking for a good tailor, read my review on Nostalgia Design Studio. She is located in Half Moon Bay and well worth the drive. My dress cost $80 to alter and turned out how I imagined...BEAUTIFUL! I am looking forward to wearing it and hope to wear it again and again. Two other bridesmaids went to her and had the same experience. -

the very first time I came I brought 2 costume corsets and they were able to alter within 48 hours for a rush fee and they did a good job so the following week I brought 8 brand new pairs of juicy couture velour and terry sweatpants. She was supposed to hem them longer in the front and shorter in the back so they would not be dragging on the floor. They completely ruined every pair and hemmed to my ankles! I have no idea why they did that horrible horrible job every single pair completely ruined . I can't even have them let out as they cut them way to short! They came out so bad that the only way to save them is to have another alterations add elastic to the bottom so they can be turned into cargo pants =( stay away from this place! I will post pictures of my sweats when I get a chance!

DO NOT GO HERE...they charge SOOOO much for an alteration. I went to get a maxi dress altered (one layer) and it was $25!! the only reason why i went here is because it was the only place that does it quickly hense the name "Alterations to go", however the Russian (i believe) lady who worked there did not listen to me very well. I know how maxi dresses are supposed to fit and said i wanted it longer yet she kept saying "No it will be too long"...i kept saying "longer b/c its gonna shrink"...anyway, when i picked it up it was unevenly hemmed, one side of the dress was longer than the other and was NOT happy paying $25 (even more than my dress) for a hem job. I don't even know why I went here in the first place, totally NOT worth it. Not the mention some other lady in there was complaining about the alteration job when I was picking up my dress. I should have known with the jacked up prices! Anyway, difnately DO NOT go here, you can find other seemstresses who will charge 70% less and do a way better job than this crappy place!

I've been here twice, both for bridesmaid dresses. I think they may be a little more expensive than other places but I trust this place. They do exactly what you tell them to do. You say you want the dress to touch the floor, they say it will be too long. You say you know but you still want it to touch the floor. They say ok. The place is really quick also. Both times I was able to pick up my dress the following week.

I've never had experience with any alterations for my clothing until this past summer. Since then, I've taken a bridesmaid's dress, 3 pairs of jeans (one for hemming, one for a hole in the knee, and one for being taken in at the waist), a blouse (to be hemmed), and a sweater (hole in the arm) there. I've been VERY pleased with how everything looked and fit. I honestly don't know how their prices compare to anywhere else, but because I've been happy with how things have looked, I just keep going there despite the price. Dress was $30 I think, jeans were $20-$25 each, blouse was $25, and sweater hole was $15. The items are always finished by when she says they will be, and sometimes it is only a couple days wait. Their rack is always full of clothes...check this place out!

I have been going here for years and have always been extremely satisfied with the work! The owner is knowledgeable, nice, and very good at what she does. I have asked her to do various alterations, from a simple hem to a full redo of a skirt about 4 sizes too big (a brand whore doesn't care about the sizes when she sees something good!). If you need quality alterations done in a timely and affordable manner, go to Alterations To Go.

I had a couple of pieces that I needed to get back on a three day turn-around so that I get them done and fly out of town for a funeral. The woman that took care of me was extremely polite and professional when I tried on the items for tailoring and alterations. I went to pick them up and they were done to perfection. I thought the price was very reasonable for the skill put into the tailoring that they did. I will definitely be back for alterations and tailoring. Very happy with their skill and their courtesy.
