Alterations Express

My daughter found The Perfect Gown for a recent event except that it was a foot too long with a complicated hem - the dress had layers upon layers of lace. She asked if I could shorten it and I said no way would I even try - happily the ladies at Alterations Express were able to figure it out.

Since the gown couldn't be altered by just taking a bit off the bottom, they remade the lower skirt to keep the dress in pleasing proportions. Though the dress was designed for a taller girl, my tiny daughter looked amazing in her gown - and the price was excellent considering how much work went into essentially remaking the dress.

AE has shortened my pants for a long time - sometimes the same pair twice when I realize that I need them shorter to accommodate certain shoes, but I was pleased that they could handle this assignment as well. I highly recommend Alterations Express.

I missed the place at first because I was looking for "Alterations Express".. The building had "TAILORING" on it instead.. Next door to a Papa Murphy's.

Our puppy chewed on our couch pillows and we basically needed the zippers replaced. $22! $22 for EACH pillow.

You prepay.

The pillows were ready the following week and they look good. I can't tell which pillows on the couch were the ones I took in.

I have been tried so many different tailors over the years and none have been as consistent, timely and professional as alterations express. hey know me by name and always do exactly what I need and I am very picky.

Yeah I don't know, I like the woman I talked to twice that works here, she is super nice!

I had a dress taken in that was too large on top... It's still a little too big. I told her I wanted it really snug, since it's cotton and will stretch over time as well. She pinned it on me and said it would be fine... I'm going to have it taken in again somewhere else.

I think Alterations Express is a great place if you need to alter some jeans or something really SIMPLE.

But they FREAKING SUCK when it comes to tailoring suits. I had them tailor 3 suits for me last year and they completely got it wrong. They just don't know how to fit suits to a male. Maybe for females they are better, but they stink. plus they are totally expensive. I paid like $110 for one jacket. In the end, they were completely off so I had to "Re-tailor" the suit at my Tailor in San Francisco. I re-tailored all 3 suits which had them tailor before. Thus, I basically ended up wasting like $280 to some tailor who has no clue to fit a suit to a male.

Stay away from this place!!!! Only bring pants that need to be altered. SIMPLE THINGS they can do....otherwise STAY AWAY STAY AWAY!!!!!

I origianlly came here to have my bridesmaids dresses altered. The horrible bridal shop we ordered our dresses from ordered incorrect sizes for 2 out of my 4 bridesmaids. The dresses were huge! Ashwini and her team fixed the dresses in recoed time and at a much more reasonable price than we had been quoted at another alterations place. They completely remade the dresses and you would never know it...their work is immacualte.

Then my wedding dress came in and was also huge. It was so big that when they laced me up as tightly as they could it wouldn't stay up. I thought I was going to have to buy another dress. They took it in and had it ready for me to try on well before the date they quoted me. The dress fits perfectly and they even made suggestions like adding tulle which we did and it looks even more amazing.

I've had such a great experience there that I have been taking in a bunch of denim, dresses, and even a bikini top for them to alter and each item has turned out amazing.

Where I go for most of my alterations.

Pros: Good prices, $6.90 to hem a pair of pants, quick turnaround and they do a pretty good job. I've had them take in blazers, shorten sleeves on a leather jacket and repair and let out slacks.

Cons: The hours aren't as good as a dry cleaner.

Overall: I've been pretty happy with them so if you're looking for an alterations place in Roseville I would definitely recommend.

This place is fast. Superfast. Like "I need these pants hemmed in less than two hours please because I'm an idiot who thought I could hem them myself" fast.

Even with my tight deadline, the person who helped me was super accommodating. She didn't try to take advantage of my plight, either, only charging me the standard hemming fee. With such good business practices and quick, skillful services, I will definitely be returning with all my hemmable items.

I have been going to Alterations Express since they took over the business 6 years ago. I am only 5' tall, so I have to get A LOT of clothes altered. I have brought in clothes for ALL types of alterations, including hems, zippers, taking sides in and more

I have had nothing but EXCELLENT customer service since the the first pair of pants I brought in. The owner is very sweet, and is personable every time I come in. She always asks me how I am and what's new, and then remembers the next time I come in to ask about that vacation or event we had discussed. I have brought back an alteration that didn't fit just right the first time, and she gladly fixed it so it was just right, but this was only once that this happened- they get my alterations perfect everytime ( and I am VERY particular about my clothes!)

I highly recommend Alterations Express.... not only do they do a great job, the customer service is second to none, and to me, that is very important. :-)
