There is a reason the lowest review before me is a 4 star. This place is good, yet bad. The only reason it's bad... is because it's so good and there is far to much candy that you want, but don't need. However, when you walk in this store, your wants may just become needs.

I highly recommend the Green Lizard sauce. It has an amazing flavor with a touch of spicy. I am a fan of hot sauce as long as they have a good flavor and this one literally sets the bar. It's a bit out of the way from the main strip of Leavenworth, but trust me, it's well worth the trip!

This is by far the best variety shop outside of leavenworth at non-tourist prices. I make a POINT of going there every summer when I go camping. The stores entire first floor is covered in house made taffy, chocolates, ORIGINAL swedish fish and a plethura of other candies...ooohh and FUDGE that destroys Seattle Fudge Co..

    But wait theres more......

The basements consists of housemade varities of ketchups, mustards, BBQ sauces, burger sauces and oh yes about 200 different varities of HOT Sauces.

Now Im not talkin about burn your cornhole, Daves Insanity, intestinal acid. I mean good ol fashioned, FLAVORFUL hot sauces.

Ones that go for not only quantity of heat but the quality of the flavor....

I will be there agin in 2 weeks again and plan on spending a nice penny there....

So on your way to Leavenworth next time about 5 minutes to town, right before the little fish hatchery dam is "The Alps".

I will have pics of the place once I get back, but until then deal with my Hot Sauce......

    Cheers

*Sigh* My decadent sinful oasis when heading out of Leavenworth. Main Mission: Swedish Fish.

Also, jars and jars of hot sauces and jellies...And so many candies and sweets you wouldn't believe.....Your teeth will hurt just walking around in there.

I love stopping at the Alp's when I go to Leavenworth!

They have recently redone the entire store because they had a fire about a year ago. The new place is so nice! They have made it more open and organized. The sauces are all around the outside walls and then candy isles done by type. So much easier to find things!

    Short review: Bubblegum fudge

Long review: Love this place. They have about 2 dozen different flavors of fudge and a huge assortment of different dips, hot sauces, candies, jerky, and other yummy stuff. Make sure you stop by if you are ever near LEavenworth... it's only about 10 minutes west of town.

This is my favorite candy store. I do miss the old building, but I love what they've done with it since the fire. They have a wonderful sample wall with more than 50 sauces, dips, jams to sample. The kids will be mesmerized by the isles of candy. So much fun for everyone. If you've never been, you need to stop and check it out. It will become a traditional stop for your family any time you travel to or from Leavenworth.

we love to stop at this place and rummage around for new delights.  So far we've been loving the gummy bears which you can buy by the pound, their variety of chocolates is crazy and the next time we go, I'm definitely going to get some jams.  I bought some tartar sauce but have yet to use it. All I know is when I tasted it, it reminded of Skipper's tartar sauce.  That stuff is so good (probably not as healthy) but sooooooo good!

They have the best jams, sauces, and sweet treats I've ever experienced.   You must try their Rasberry Honey spread - it's to die for!

The Alps had a fire in 3/09 and rebuilt and reopened in 3/10.  It is a beautiful building with a fudge counter (new) including free samples.  They still have the sauce and jam sample counter and all the same candys, jams, sauces, etc.  The only thing missing is the limited souvenirs, now found in the basement.  All food is upstairs.  It's really worth the trip!

I am happy to report that the rumors of The Alps demise has been greatly exaggerated - or at least there remains no evidence.  I had never been to The Alps - most of my childhood Leavenworth trips originated in Ellensburg, and thus did not pass this shop.  I heard about it from family, read about it on Yelp, read about the fire, and then found slivers of hope that they had rebuilt.  It is open for business, and wall to wall with candy, pepper jelly, mustard, fudge, and taffy.  Huuuge taffy selection.  I brought home a big bag for the co-workers, and we tore through it.  I wasn't as happy with the fudge, but I got some mystery flavor that wasn't what I thought it would be.  Next time I'll keep it simple.  I also snagged a jar of nicely hot pepper jelly, which I introduced to some pretzel-crackers and cream cheese, and now I have to go buy some more pretzel-crackers and cream cheese.  This was the best stop on my Leavenworth trip.  Well worth the very sudden turn signal and high speed parking lot entry as I barreled down the Wenatchee autobahn.
