Awesome little bungalows where we can park our cars right in front.
The neighborhood was nice and quite. The best part was that it felt like your own individual bungalow. I mean it is no classy hotel with no bathtub, no pool, no jacuzzi, no gym and all that stuff but they can make up for it with a good price and that its about a 20 to 30 minute drive to the wharf.

The rooms were clean since it was recently remodeled. They had painted the walls with different accents and gave the whole place a modern look. Clean microwave and cold fridge. 24" inch t.V i think.

Humn... the blankets could have been thicker since it is cold in san francisco but we made it up by turning the heat up in the room. I wouldn't recommend the breakfast unless you are desparate. They had brownies and packaged pastries. On the upside they had starbucks coffee, orange juice and tea. Down side again is that its in a cramped little corner so if one person is there its awkward to get some for yourself.

Tip: bring your own soap and toothpaste and all that regular travel stuff. They have environmental stuff they give in your bathroom but I like my stuff regular and strong.

Place is right in the middle of the ghetto. Free parking is a plus and the rooms are clean. Walls are beyond paper thin. Mattress was awful. The owners are really friendly but still didn't feel comfortable.
Would not stay here again due to the area.
Also a little ways from San Francisco.

    Stayed 12/12/11-12/15/11. paid ~$65/night for a double.

Pros: free wifi (good strength and speed), clean, quiet, yogurt for breakfast (I'm a cheap date!), my double room had two bedrooms.  The gentleman running the front desk was very pleasant.

Cons: you definitely need a car if you're heading into town, the area is a little sketchy outside of the motel grounds, and some of the rooms share their porch entrance which adds noise and traffic right by your room. The breakfast runs out really quick but the owner will restock it if you ask. The rooms were a little small and the bathroom in the double was tiny.

    Verdict: I'd stay here again.

This place epitomizes the saying, "You get what you pay for". This place is very reasonable about 60 a night, offers free parking and continental breakfast from 7:30-9:30. What makes it less than ideal is the fact that the place is in South San Francisco without any nice restaurants around, no tourist-y places or anything besides the cow palace. Also the room was freezing- perhaps that's the So. Cal. in me speaking, but they are so cold that we had the run the heater constantly. The walls are also paper thin, so thin that you can hear people next door sneezing. Lastly, the tv is pretty sucky. Its a throwback with probably 6 channels: Showtime, NBC, HBO, TLC, TNT, and Tbs. That's pretty much it. Staff were friendly and that was appreciated. Anyways, it served it's purpose and I would stay there again if pressed.

Got a room for $70 when I was visiting San Francisco. Good pricing... Given that there's a cracked mirror in room 121, no toothpaste, and not enough towels when there were clearly three guests. There is, however, continental breakfast and a laundromat, which was neat.

But if it wasn't for this one Indian guy employee... I would've given this Inn an even better rating.

I gave him the benefit of the doubt because my friends and I arrived at the front desk at 4 in the morning. I figured we woke him up with the bell ring, but after reading another review mentioning this Indian guy, I withdrew my merciful impression of him. Apparently, he's a consistent douche.

He answered my questions with a case of bad attitude, finger slammed his keyboard as he was typing in my info, and wore a bitter face with "fml" written all over it. If anything, you should always smile if you're working at hospitality.

If you're reading this, Indian guy, I hope you can find it in your heart to be kinder to your clients, even if it is 4am.

I suppose you get a better experience in the daytime when the workers aren't cranky. Word of advice? Don't check in at 4am or you might be victimized by the Indian guy.

    Beware the Indian guy...

When we drove to this place we were fearing for the worst, we had our shares of bad hotels during our holiday, and considering the shady neighbourhood we didn't have high hopes for this one either. However, after we entered our room our thoughts immediately changed, very clean, comfortable and spacious rooms, friendly staff, and actually a delicious breakfast with starbucks coffee.

    Also included free parking.

Would have given this place 5 stars, if it wasn't for the crack in the shower floor which flooded the bathroom when you stood on it, and for the bad wifi range all the way in the last room (where we were)

    But definitely a recommendation

This was our first time at the Alpine. It's a good location near SFSU. Nice rooms with healthy breakfast options and Starbucks coffee. Bathroom a bit small.  The room was too hot or too cold due to the heater being difficult to control.  Neat body soap and shampoo dispensers in shower. Friendly staff. Free wi-fi and convenient parking. Overall we plan to return.

It serves it's purpose -- a place to stay for an economical price.  The staff are pleasant and friendly.  Our room was renovated (new bed, flooring, fridge, microwave) but still needed some work (older curtains, rusting towel rods and shower head frame, bathroom door that got stuck).  The towels were teeny and thin.  Breakfast included Starbucks coffee, cereal, yogurt, pastries and instant oatmeal.  It's a motel in a safe place and near the airport.  I can't complain.

I enjoyed my stay here quite a bit.  The property seems a bit old perhaps, and my room was quite cold (despite turning the heater on), but those are fairly minor things.

The customer service was excellent - I really like that it appears to be family-owned.  There are vending machines next to the ice machine, and a washer/dryer to do your laundry if you so choose.  The guy working at the front desk had no problem recommending restaurants or things to see.

The room was very cute, I liked the decor a lot.  The bed was comfortable enough, although quite squishy.  I won't pass judgement on pillows - I am so insanely particular about pillows.

At any rate, this is getting rambly and silly, so here's the breakdown.  Room was comfy, a little cold.  Customer service was awesome.  Location is all right, provided you have a car.

Alpine Motor Inn was our only choice because we were purchasing a flight+ hotel deal and the price was extremely reasonable.

The customer service from day one to our last day was superior. They helped us with our room card, information, the continental breakfast and they even suggested a few cabs and restaurants. Those guys were courteous, polite, kind, attentive, friendly........the list goes on.

Two big thumbs up on the customer service!

I was definitely feeling the room. It felt like a personal small cottage. The room was clean, fresh bed sheets every day, trash bags were changed everyday, there was a small refrigerator, microwave, TV with cable, a small dinning table, a closet with an iron, the bathrooms were always cleaned, well stocked and it had a blow-dryer.

I also liked that you had your own personal parking space, even though we didn't have a car or rental. The breakfast wasn't the greatest but it was enough to get me up for the day. The options they provided for breakfast were danish rolls, cereal, juice, muffins and fruit.

The good thing about this Inn, is that its secluded away from the ghettoness of Daly City and its only a few feet away from the bus stop which takes you into downtown SF in forty-five minutes.

This place is a solid deal for what you pay for.

we had the misfortune of booking a room here at the same time the x-factor was auditioning people at the cow palace. normally, the price for a room is 60 a night, but due to the x-factor being in town, we were raped with a 121 per night charge. it is only a mere block from the ghetto. website said rooms were fully renovated, don't believe everything you read! we arrived and to our dismay, the rooms were small, the tv only had about 6 working channels, the air conditioning was broken, not to mention our bed was older than i am, which was propped up by  a cinder block in the middle, archaic microwave and frig. asked for a late check out today, but was so rudely told no by the infamous douchey indian guy. awful experience all the way around.

Pros: Ahh-mazing bed and pillows, cute decor, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, free wifi, free parking, and continental breakfast.

Cons: lack of local dining, bath tub, and snazzy LCD.

So kids, why does this place get 4 stars?  It's simply because of all the things you get without expecting them AND for the price.  Aside from the pros listed above, they give you a complimentary welcome package complete with granola bar, water bottles, chips, and cookies, as well as Starbucks coffee in your room, shoe shine polish (how many places still do that?), and make-up remover.

This place is a great alternative to the tourist trap parts of SF, a great option if you need to hit up SFSU for any reason, or if you simply want to visit the bay area on a budget.  Additionally, the front desk concierge was attentive and helpful when I asked my twenty questions (like the location of the ice machine).

I didn't mind the lack of dining options (read: McDonald's, KFC, and Popeye's) but this may be a problem if you don't have a car.  Also, should you feel the need to have a cheesy romantic evening with your *insert affectionate name here*, the standing-only shower may prove to slightly hinder your sexy-time aspirations.

Overall, this was a great option for the single white female traveler who was willing to drive for her dinner after yelping it with the free wifi in her uber comfy bed.

I found this place on Yelp and I gotta say it's okay...

I thought the decor was cute and the beds , pillows, and blankets are nice =]
The people who worked there were okay, the soda machine ate my dollar and the worker at that time compensated for it. The next morning the worker didn't know what milk was. They did offer places to eat that do deliver to their location, but again I found some place on Yelp (thank god for Yelp!)

I didn't enjoy how small the TV was, how the entire thing was slanting ( since its San Francisco I guess I can't complain), the shower had ...mold? in it, and in the extra guest room there looked like there was a TV but they decided to take it out. Also there are no screens on the windows so you can't open them. The back of the rooms is a brick wall with space for people to walk in between, don't know how safe that is.

Over all the place was good to stay at for a couple of nights, I would probably go back there again considering how big the room was.

This place is great for the price!! newly renovated, nice style and decor, eco-friendly, 2 BR,  feels more private because they're set-up like individual apts.  GREAT VALUE!! 15 min from P39/Fisherman's Wharf.  They had a pretty decent variety for the free breakfast!! the best of all the economy lodges on our trip up north.

Let me tell you the ONE thing this hotel is for: COW PALACE EVENTS

Seriously, there is not much to this hotel, but it is walking distance from the main entrance of cow palace, and being a person who needed just that, this place was the perfect spot for my friends and I to stay for the night.

FACT 1: This hotel isn't classy, but it is relatively new inside (furniture/bathroom sink/floors).
FACT 2: This hotel is just past the Cow Palace parking lot perimeter
FACT 3: It depresses me to see how ripped off I got with people paying 50-80 bucks a night to stay here. etdPOP-2009. One bed hotel room. 140 bucks after taxes/fees. HAHAHA. Damn you supply and demand...
FACT 4: Not ideal for trying to stick it to the man and cram some buddies into either...hardwood floors.

...if i were to rebook for this years pop trip, I would still book at Alpine. The convenience is awesome, and every single one of your neighbors is still out partying in the hotel later (doors open like an SF Isla Vista) dancing in the street because they all came from the same place you did...Epic.

This place is good for one thing, and one thing only.  It provides an almost perfect place for you to crash after a Cow Palace Event.

    The detriments
-The walk back to the Inn from Cow Palace is UPHILL.  Try walking uphill in the freezing cold wearing a beater, after running around for 9 hours straight.
    - $140 for one night in a single bed.  Damn smart for jacking up the prices at a night like that.
    - Parking lot was not made for big cars.  And when parking isn't strictly enforced, you have multiple cars per hotel room, leading to a fight for the last parking spot

    The Goodies
-FRIGGIN close to the Cow Palace.  Why pay $20 for parking, when you can leave the car at the hotel and walk there?
-They don't really check parking.  Meaning our room could park our two cars in their lot.
-EVERYONE, and i mean EVERYONE, stayed there for one thing only, etdPOP2009 at the Cow Palace.  That meant that when the party ended at 2AM, your neighbors are still partying hard back at the rooms.

But convenience wins, and if i were to ever attend another Cow Palace Event, Alpine would be at the top of my list.

I moved here in July, and for two months this was my home.  Now there isn't anything really special about this place, comfortable beds, pretty clean facility, TV(HBO), wireless Internet, and a three star breakfast in the morning. Usually consisted of yogurt, danishes, coffee, OJ, and few selections of cereal. So nothing over the top they did just recently renovate with new decorations and added rooms, so that was nice, it was a modern decor  instead of the usual tired rundown hotels.  It also has in some rooms, two separate rooms, so if you, like I, had to stay with a coworker you could have your separate areas.

So why the four stars? The owners of this location, who live on site, actually give a shit about their Inn. Every morning they are awake in the office to greet and talk to you. They ask you how you are if you have been to see this or that, they give recommendations on sites, and things that are going on in the city,. They do this for every person that stays with them.

Some mornings I really didn't feel like talking, and that's OK, I would just say hello and be on my way. But if there was ever an issue I was having with other tourist such as the damn kids banging around at 2am, then you could call the office and the owners would handle it. The first day we were there they kicked out some people who were smoking in the room. The fourth week I was there they kicked out another group that had to many people in the room. They are serious.

Overall this place is 4 stars, great low price, right next to the Cow Palace, if you ever have an event. Okay breakfast, but great service!

Rented room thru expedia, which came out to almost 68 dollars a night, tax included, with two beds for 3 people.
Very nice room!!! Looks like little cottages from the outside, but has all the amenities you would ever need. Microwave, cable, refrigerator, hot/cold air conditioner. Plus the rooms looked and smelled like if they had been remodeled lately.
Our stay was nice and quite, plus we went to visit during the week. So dont know how the weekend gets there.
The guy in the lobby, some indian fellow was nice, and helped us out in the room when we had some small problem with the water not getting hot. Problem he stated was the maintenance installed the heads on the shower backwards. No biggie.
They also have a nice continental breakfast, in the small lobby. You can pick up food, but can't really eat it there. Food was good though.

    Would definitely stay here again.

The pictures are very accurate. We planned this trip a month in a advance and our tickets to the Steelers Vs. 49er's game was not honored by the stadium personal. However, this hotel rocks!  The parking lot is clean, the staff was very very helpful, very caring and concerned for us. We received a double room place for us and our children. The entrance to the room is very nice, the bed is very comfy. The walls need to be cleaned, maybe with a clorox wipe or two once a week. The bathroom has a crescent  shower which is very helpful with ample water flow. I cut my shower time down because of it. The second room for our kids was ample. My only concern is that there isn't a phone in the room. I don't know why. But it is very comforting knowing that someone cared about us after our horrid accident and issue with the Candlesitck Park.

Sorry Yelp but this place is a hole in the wall. Yeah its remodeled but its like it was remodeled by an unlicensed contractor. Kinda like a DIY job straight up 1/2 ass.

I booked on Travelocity for $80 for one night so I can be close to DC to attend an early funeral and not get stuck in traffic. The indian dude at the front desk was a complete asshole. His body language and the way he spoke was very crude. You can find him in one of the pics someone posted.

Coffee maker in my room was dirty w/ old coffee left inside, bathroom shower leaks like fucking crazy thru the curtain. The room setup had a good layout but it was cold as hell in the bedroom. I had to go buy a portable heater to keep warm.

I just wasnt feelin the dude at the front desk. Being rude at a hotel just doesnt cut it IMO.

Lola the hooker came in 10 mins after I did, dropped a C-note off and got her keys so quick, so fast! WTF was that about?

This is a great place to stay if you're attending any events at the Cow Palace, a Giants/Niners game or visiting the city. It's away from the crazy city prices but not far of a commute to do any of the things. Close to 280, 101, and Mission is only a few blocks away. It takes like 5 mins to hit the mission district.

The rooms are nicely decorated and come equipped with a microwave, fridge, coffeemaker and Starbucks coffee! The lobby offers Starbucks brewed coffee and a between 7-9am they offer a small complementary breakfast. It consists of cold/hot cereal, danishes, yogurt, fruit, juice and coffee/tea.

The management are a real delight and always very helpful. They're knowledgeable about the area and things to do in SF, so that's a real help for the out-of-towners. It's a great steal for the price!

Scott - $69 bucks for our first night was a steal.  Our first room was pretty small, really clean though.  We got in right when they cleaned it and it smelt like the cleaner they used.  The TV was fuzzy on most of the channels though.

Out 2nd night here cost us $109 because of etd.pop that was on the day of.  We had to move rooms but i was glad we did.  The room was much bigger and the TV wasnt fuzzy at all.

    The receptionist was passive agressive.

If youre going to the cow palace, this is the place to stay.  Its kind of far from the city so the bus/muni/bart is a little longer than normal.  -1 star for the first room.

The boyfriend and I stayed here on our last nite of visiting the Daly City area. It met our expectations as we were looking for a cleaner, nicer- smelling, room than where we were currently staying. Ya know, a room with bed sheets that feel comfortably clean getting under. The particular room we were in was small but it was fairly priced, and the clean, contemporary decor totally made up for it.

Wireless internet worked great. Convenient mini fridge to cool the bevs. If you think you want breakfast, as always, get there earlier than later for more selection. You can miss out on the individually packaged danish and coffee.

Decided to stay here for the night because I am a broke college student and my hotel in San Francisco was getting way too expensive. Anyways, if you are planning to drive into San Fran and not stay in your motel/hotel this is the perfect place. I loved that you could park your car directly in front of your room (I've had bad experiences) and the desk attendent was extra helpful. Ex. When I asked him where the nearest place to print something was, he offered his computer immediately, which was very helpful especially since I get lost way too much. So, I'm giving this place a high rating basically because of the service, their heater, and because my room was very cute. And even though my hotel in San Francisco was right in the middle of everything, I still feel that having a better price and better service is totally worth it.  And I guess people like that there is breakfast till 10am or something, but who gets up that early anyways, right?

This place is delightful... This is a motor court motel... a throwback to the 1950's.  The rooms were exceptionally clean, the bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet.   There is plenty of sunshine coming in and the place is built on a slight incline so each room is at a different level than the one next to it  keeping the noise level down.  The furniture is not the newest but it  is very serviceable.  The room has a fridge, microwave and all the usual stuff.  I am here visiting my daughter at SFSU and this is very convenient to the school.  I plan on coming back.

It was pretty good. Cheap price, nice service, clean room, free breakfast (cheap but courtesy) comes with package pastry, yogurt, Starbucks coffee or orange juice, or hot water, and some loaf bread to choose from. I only stayed here for one night for my friend's visit in San Francisco. The room is well clean and have what you need to stay the night. It has TV, microwave, fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer, shower cap (I don't know if this is extra charge), make-up remover, hand soup, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, plenty of towels, 3 different kinds of blankets, High-Speed Internet Wi-Fi, a 6-plugs outlet by the bed, heat and air-condition device. That's about it. I stayed there for $56 total after tax, what a bargain and steal. Compare to the Mission Inn I stayed for $80 without all the above except a room and a bed, this is completely like a 4 stars even it's only 2 stars compare to the cheap motels... Nice to stay for nights for the price. Might stay in there again if necessary.
This is good for booking online as well and takes credit cards. No need cash deposit, unlike the Mission Inn I stayed before, horrible that I had to ATM the cash in the middle of the night to check-in, WTF?

My GF and I stayed here over the Thanksgiving weekend.  We liked the room.  Nice, clean, and newer.  The service was good in the front office and the continental breakfast was good as well.  I would recommend a car if you want to get around SF which was what we did.  Overall I would recommend Alpine and we would stay here again.

If I could have given it less than one star, I would have. Broken faucets and lamps were tollerable BUT NOT HAVING LOCAL CHANNELS IS JUST PLAIN CHEAP!!!!!!

All I wanted was to watch the World Series! Paying $85.00 a night should guarantee at least that!!!!!

cheap with decent sized rooms. close to the city and right across from the cow palace. includes tv, microwave, fridge, etc. you can get a room for like 50 bucks a night if you look online. not bad at all. -1 star since i found condoms and lubricant in the drawers one time. cheap ones too.

This hotel is offering free rooms to people that are victims of a major fire currently taking place in San Bruno! 10 stars to any hotel that doesn't triple their prices to make a buck taking advantage of someone's despair. Thank you - you are now added to my list of good businesses!

There are always great deals for this place on craigslist. $55 a night (just a suggestion), but I booked a holiday deal online. i stayed 2 nights here and was immediately impressed by the modern pseudo-trendy decor. I mean the room looked comfortable. The bed was great. My main complaint was how cold it was. There is a heater that came on when it wanted to and blew out only cold air. Having a fridge was nice. i never used the microwave and the one time I wanted to use the coffee pot I noticed it was a little dirty. Oh and just a heads up, I had the hardest time finding a pizza place that would deliver to this area (so keep this in mind). I don't have a car, so the location was kind of far from BART (although their advertisements make it seem like it is soooo close). i'd go back, but what's with the highly advertised CABLE TV that had like 4 channels. There was like a spanish HBO channel that had better movies on than any of the english speaking channels...what's up with that?

Decided to spend two nights here during a weekend trip to the City as the price was very attractive and the location was where I wanted (just outside of town).  The service and, more importantly, the room conditions were to my satisfaction.  Very clean and tidy, quite spacious for the price we paid and room service did an immaculate job each morning.  The continental breakfast is a quite modest and the only other critique I would have is that our front door lock was malfunctioning during our stay (and we were told that ordering the part would take several days) so we were inconvenienced by having to go to the front desk each time we needed to re-enter our room.  You're about 20 minutes from many of San Francisco's attractions and need to take busy city streets to get into town.  But all in all, a great place that I would recommend for anyone to stay--it was definitely the best price I got for a room (even considering it was on X-Mas day) without having to suffer on quality.
