Inexpensive hotel, decent room. If you are not too picky this hotel is perfect for a two night stay. Walking distance to all the casinos.

We stayed here over the weekend and had a wonderful stay. Rooms are good size they have A microwave and a small refrigerator which was perfect. Its located right across the street from the casinos. The people who work there are very nice and was very accommodating to our group. We had a total of 12 rooms and everyone was very pleased. We were a rowdy group just moms and dad's having a good time with no kids and everyone was still very nice to us. The pool was not open but is a nice size, they have a hot tub that was very clean and a good size.

A few days ago we decided to extend our Tahoe stay and looked for a budget option on http://Kayak.com. The Alpine Inn was the cheapest room in town at $32 (midweek) with no booking fees. The room ended up being $38ish with taxes and everything, which is about as good as you can do in the area. We were initially skeptical because there were no reviews of the place on Kayak or Yelp, but really we just needed a bed to get another day on the mountain and anything would do. As we drove over we became more skeptical because of its incredible location, less than a ten-minute walk away from the Heavenly Gondola. How could a motel so centrally located be so cheap? No roof maybe?
After checking in we were pleasantly surprised. The room was very clean and had:
- TV
- Mini-fridge
- Microwave
- Coffee maker
- Ironing board
- Free Wi-Fi
The shower was very hot and had incredible water pressure - so much that you had to turn it down a bit. There is also an outdoor hot tub. It was locked initially, but I asked the guy front desk about it and he went out to unlock it and turn up the heat a bit. He told us to wait a half hour, which we did, and it was a great soak. If you have plans for using it, just let them know early and they will have it going for you.
I would definitely stay here again. -

Great location! Minutes from the casinos (walking).
When i got to the room, my boyfriend said it smelt like someone just went #2 in the bathroom. The room did have a weird stench. I didnt even sleep under the covers. And I didnt walk around barefoot.
Tired from a long night, we hung out and rested in the room in the afternoon before painting the town red again. This didnt last long because the cable got staticky/snowy in the middle of our favorite show, Everybody Loves Raymond.
I only booked here because the price was a steal for a Saturday night.
I do like how the hotel door takes you directly outside (great perk for smokers).
The pool was empty (in June).
I might stay here again in the future, or... I might not. I figure if ur on vacation, then you won't really be in the hotel room unless for showers, sleep & clothes.
Despite the odor and cable issue, i still gave Alpine Inn 4 stars because of the location and the great price i found. -

I stayed here a week ago, my second stay at Alpine this year. When I'm in Tahoe I don't plan on spending much time in my room. Just need a place to shower, change clothes, and after gambling all night, a clean, quite place to sleep before the drive home. This place is all that and being within walking distance to the casinos makes this the perfect place to stay while when I'm in Tahoe. The staff is super friendly, family owned and operated. The rooms are very small but still functional and comfortable. My $31 room had a hair dryer, clothing iron, coffee pot, microwave, small refrigerator, and a desk with a large wall mirror which served as a vanity for me. Only thing you won't find is a telephone and alarm clock. Most important about Alpine is that the rooms are very clean inside and out and you can't beat the price!

I chose this hotel because of its great price and location. However, once I arrived I was instantly disappointed. First, the rooms are hardly big enough to walk in. You literally have 10 inches between the beds and the wall to walk past to get to the bathroom. Secondly, the staff is downright rude. It is family owned, and they treat you like you are invading on their family space. The first night, we were asleep and were awaken to a phone call from the front desk being threatened to have to police called if we did not quiet down. If we were being loud, that would have been acceptable; however, we were napping and completely quiet. I then came to find that the call was from a group of people outside of our room who we were not affiliated with at all. I told the front desk this, but they were ignoring what I was saying, and continued to lecture us on what we obviously did not do. Thirdly, the very rude woman from the front desk visited our room personally the next morning as if the rude and uncalled for phone call was not enough to tell us that if we had any more issues, we would be kicked out of our room. I am a true believer that killing someone with kindness is the best way to avoid unnecessary confrontation, but this lady was pushing me to my limits. On top of her being out of line and wrong about her accusations of us, a man ganged up and joined in on the lectures she was giving me. If the first three were not enough, there is a fourth issue I had. My friends and I were sitting in the poor excuse of a spa, and the lady from the front desk was literally staring at us with an unbroken and penetrating stare. I am 24 years old, and I am far too old to feel like someone is babysitting me. Go away and stop hovering over the guests you have in your business who are PAYING MONEY to stay there. We keep your family fed and give them a place to sleep with our business, and I expect to be treated as such.
