My boyfriend found this little piece of heaven on Yelp and I must say it was worth the trip to enjoy the cutest little hideaway in Palm Springs!
The owners were so very friendly and kept the small 10 room cottage like place immaculate. The room was adorable, hand painted flowers on the walls, a small fridge with wine glasses and even a cork screw left for you !
The comforter and throw pillows were in good design taste and of course the mattress was very comfortable to sleep on.
They even thought of leaving their guests a bag of disposable razors in case you may have forgotten yours! Also large, thick & thirsty bath towels for your use for shower or pool. So you don't have to remember to bring your own .
The breakfast room was filled with wonderful old fashion pottery pieces, cute cookie jars (which I wanted to take home with me) and when Bill, the owner, put out his breakfast, he also gave it a home touch by serving butter on a butter dish! something you don't get at a fancy hotel-you know what I mean- you usually get those little square pats of butter...
And to me, what they do here at the Alpine -just spells out " WE CARE ABOUT OUR GUESTS" !
Outside of your door, were comfortable wicker chairs facing the heated pool, & hot tub. Included were wonderful plants, vases, gnomes, buckets of flowers, along with other little cottage type wonders for your viewing pleasure. Can you believe along the path walk were hand painted rugs and brick like designs. There also was a cute little garbage can hand painted with red flowers. Now how artistic can one get!
So, all in all, if you are looking for a quiet fairy tale place to stay while in Palm Springs, I would surely pick this one! If I could give it ten stars- I would !!!! -

What an adorable place!
Stayed here twice in 2004...once by meself during "high season," again with R. in the heat of summer.
Finding the hotel the first time was a bit tricky; co-host Bill was patient as I called him twice to confirm directions. Hey, it was my first time in Palm Springs!
Bill is charming and his partner Tom is amiable. They have taken your lower-end late-1940s tourist-class motel and, eschewing the mid-century aesthetic prevalent in the area, competely dolled it up! There were surprises at every turn in the courtyard garden such as gnomes, garden globes and plastic flamingoes, one of which was wearing a pilgrim outfit one morning!
Plus cool touches everywhere in rooms (complete with kitchenettes) such as hand-painted wall detail, walls festooned with framed art, silk plants disguising bathroom plumbing, and superb bedding.
Yet the original late 1940s details, such as the green-and-white tiled shower and the original kitchen cabinets and oven, were lovingly saved.
Rates are reasonable. Only a 5 minute drive from the heart of downtown Palm Springs, and just off the main road to the other desert communities. Continental breakfast in the courtyard. Bill and Tom have lots of recommendations about local sights and eats. The pool is inviting. Come on in! -

Each year, I vacation in Palm Springs and the only place I choose to stay is at Alpine Gardens. The service is outstanding, the grounds are lovely, and the location is close the restaurants and shops on North Palm Canyon. I spend a lot of my time at the resort itself, swimming in heated pool, relaxing in the jacuzzi, or just relaxing while enjoying the beautiful landscaping. I give it all five stars!
