Wonderful friendly staff! Superb service! Everything about Alpine Bagel Cafe is absolutely super! I visit this place every time I visit M.I.T. (which is my Alma Mater).
P.S. Alpine Bagel is no longer here. Ownership has changed, and the space is now shared by Cambridge Grill and a Dunkin Donuts. These new owners seem to have kept the same wonderful friendly staff. -

I give it 4 stars because they have one sandwich that is vegan and pretty tasty. This sandwich is really your only choice if you are looking for food at the student center. It's your standard humus, lettuce, sprouts, and onions on a toasted bagel.
I've eaten this a lot.
edit 5/2006: apparently this being replaced with a dunkin' donuts. I can't believe MIT is putting a dunkin donuts in its most prominent retail food spot. adios alpine -

While my personal favorite Bageleria is Finagle a Bagel this one is a close second. At Alpine Bagel they've got fresh bagels everyday and their very own brick oven. They make a mean pepperoni pizza. Also to add to the zest they've go a Freshens smoothie place right in their store. Alpine Bagel is also located in the MIT student center. Great food, great prices, just watch out for the crowds.

I was first introduced to Alpine Bagel by a friend at MIT and I am thankful for it. Whenever I need a quick bite, at a somewhat reasonable price, Ican stop in and get a bagel, whether I create it from scratch or order another of their tasty bagel sandwiches.

The burgers taste like shit and they are always burnt. I once asked if I could get a burger a little less than black and the worker told me the meat is so lo-qual that they can only be served well done. The smoothies, pizza, and bagels are all mediocre. The only thing I get here is the "hummus is amung us" bagel sandwich.
