Excellent doctors. Corrected major issues with ACL recovery that the vets at another hospital did not even diagnose properly nor treat properly.

I'm not sure how well our dog would have recovered if we'd not switched doctors one month post-surgery.

    Smart, humane, respectful and reliable.

I used to take my pets to Redwood Pet Hospital.  A few years ago, I loved that place, but apparently ownership has changed and since then, the bills kept getting higher while the service became much lower quality.  I also had one visit to Adobe, and they charged me almost $200 for testing my guinea pig's ears to see what kind of infection she had.  Results=inconclusive.  I decided I didn't want to go there again after that rip off.

In looking for an alternative, Alpine had good reviews, so I gave it a try.  I've been there several times so far with my cats and dog for routine checks ups, vaccs, and a hot spot.  The vets and vet techs are very friendly.  I am especially happy with Dr. Evans's "bedside manner", and the other vet we saw was very thorough and knowledgeable (I don't recall her name, but she is younger).

Their prices are better than everywhere else I've been, and they don't try to talk you into things you don't need.  My only recommendation for improvement is that one of their receptionists can sound/be slightly unprofessional in her tone in that she sometimes sounds bored or annoyed when speaking with you.  I can deal with that for all the other pluses this place has to offer.

Please keep up the great work at a fair price!  It is much needed in this area!

So far I like it a lot :)

My cat Tiger came for his skin allergy and it was our first visit, $40 for an exam but it was worth it because the Vet actually talks with you and will answer any and all questions, unlike my last vet who never let me get a word in.

When she came in she gave me some options, showed me a paper with treatments and prices next to them and explained them all in detail and how they might help, I got to choose what I wanted to have done and they did not act like salespeople, again like the other vet who just wanted $$, she simply said OK lets get that ready for you.

Excellent so far, we will be back shortly for regular check ups.

I brought my 3 cats in this morning for check up, vaccinations, and flea prevention. Everyone on staff was wonderful. The vet was very thorough, honest, and they have good prices. The initial exam for my first cat was $42 and the other 2 were $12 off each so it saves money to bring your pets in at the same time. While I wouldn't say my cats enjoy the vet, they didn't seem like they were unhappy even after getting the vaccinations.

Had a really great experience. The staff was warm and welcoming. My cat was very comfortable with the staff and they don't talk you into anything that wasn't needed. Dr. Patty was great. THIS IS THE BEST VET HOSPITAL IN THE BAY AREA IN MY OPINION. THE STAFF REALLY CARES ABOUT ANIMALS AND ARE THERE TO HELP ANIMALS NOT JUST MAKE MONEY.

My primary vet, Dr. McClellan is no longer here.

My cat Maya came here for what turned out to be her end of life care. They did all they could but sadly her kidneys were too far gone.

She got great attention and care from Drs. Berger, Evans, Lieberman, and the entire staff (Megan, Liz ,Carla, and anyone I forgot). On her last day there (we took her home to spend some time together before she died) I came in and found the front office staff holding her in a blanket, kissing her head, and talking a picture to remember her by.

Even though I have moved 10 miles up the Peninsula, I will still be taking my dog there for his medical care.

Excellent service here which for an animal hospital, is more than just medically treating my dog (which they did), but also being friendly which puts the animal and its pet (the human) at ease.
What I value in this vet office:
    Staff - friendly, knowledgeable
Service - punctual, good communication, and effective (my dog is back to his normal self)
Price - very reasonable, much less than my former vet
    Office - decent parking
(One trustworthy note, I had ok'd an xray for my dog's paw, but when they determined it may not be necessary, they gave me a call to give me the choice of whether to proceed)
    Chewy says thanks!

All in all its a good place to take your pet but I will say that while it is very convenient (near my house) I have to say the girls are not very friendly when they answer the phone. Whenever I call I get someone that sounds like I am bothering them and they are very "short" with me. Other than that, I do like going here but may look elsewhere if this continues.

So far, so good. We have 3 pets & are new to the area. We had an amazing vet back home, so we're a little picky when it comes to what we expect from our vet.
I read the reviews on Yelp, and decided to give Alpine a try. I can say the actual service I received was consistent with the positive reviews on here.
I called Alpine for a basic check-up, & they offered me an appointment for the very next day! The staff were friendly & got us taken care of quickly. The vet was thorough and frank while maintaining good 'bedside manner'. They were upfront about pricing & not too expensive. We'll definitely go back!

LOVE Alpine. We came here after a bad experience at Adobe, and we couldn't be happier. Our dog had been diagnosed with double patellar luxation, and the doctor at Alpine was kind, gentle, and she gave us a referral that ended up being excellent.
They have always had appointments available within a very reasonable time, and they have always followed up with a call to check on things.
The staff and the vets are amazing. Incredibly gentle, kind, patient, helpful and full of information. I can't say enough positive things, and being the owner of a very shy small rescue dog, this is extremely important to me.
We have been here for regular checkups, testing, and a few other times since our dog has had a rough year. Service has always been outstanding.
Thank you, Alpine! We are happy happy customers and will continue to come back.

I don't really know why I chose to come here rather than another closer clinic in San Jose that is also open on Saturday's. It must have been the amazing reviews/rating on yelp. Needless to say, I wasn't disappointed at all! Far from it!

The clinic was not difficult to find at all. Everything looked very clean and tidy. The staff was extremely friendly and I instantly felt at ease when I saw how lovingly they treated my dog. My dog can be rather difficult at times, but they were very understanding and patient with him while he fussed away.  Aside from my fussy dog, the checkup ran very smoothly. Turns out my dog probably has some sort of environmental atopy and Dr. Evans was very informative in explaining to me different treatments, over the counter medications, topical sprays, etc.

I don't know much about Vet checkup prices, but I felt like their prices were very reasonable. I also left with quite a few handouts that addressed all of the questions I had during the checkup.

In short, Alpine Animal Hospital will definitely be my go-to vet in the future on weekends.

Edit 10/28/2011. I just received a phone call from their receptionist asking how my dog is doing. How nice! :)

Great place. Friendly staff, very thorough explanations, very attentive. Definitely the go to hospital for me as of now. I went to get some tests done for my cat to see why he has a continuing upper respiratory infection. The results came the next day (which is quick in my experience) and all were negative, so my doctor will be discussing long term care plans with me. They are very flexible and will answer all of your questions.
    Great place!

    The short version:
-They always call me a couple days after my appointment to see how my puppy is doing (who else does that?)
-Dr. Berger lets me email her personal email to ask questions and she always gets back to me right away
-I often (probably too much) call in with questions and they always put me on hold for a brief moment, ask the vet and get me my answer!
-Dr. Berger is wonderful and so is her team.  Let's face it, customer service isn't just about working with the owner/boss, these days it's more about working with the front office staff and Alpine's ladies are WONDERFUL!

    The long version:
We've been seeing Dr. Berger and her wonderful team of employees at Alpine for a couple months now and we are impressed.  As the daughter of a vet tech I confess I have high standards and the wonderful ladies at Alpine have not disappointed me.  We've been in more times than I would like, do to our Bernese Mountain Dog's health, but they have taken excellent care of us. Thank you!

Since moving to Mountain View, we needed a new vet, and found this place on Yelp.

It's really close to our house, which is convenient since unfortunately, there have been a lot of trips here in the last 6 months.

The staff is really nice, and treats our animals with such affection. I know they see pets all day, and i really appreciate how sweet they are to ours.

Our cat has had numerous problems, and I feel good about the care that Dr. McClellan has given her.I have never felt that she ever pushes anything just to get money, (sadly, there vets that do.). She is honest, and knowledgeable, and if she isn't sure about something, she'll call someone else to get us answers.

If you are searching for a vet, I highly recommend this office.

I found Alpine Animal Hospital through Yelp and decided to try it out, because it had great reviews.

I am a first time kitty owner and really had no idea what to expect from a vet.  However, the entire staff at Alpine Animal hospital made the entire process seamless and relaxing.  Dr. Tyler is sweet and informative and the technicians and office staff always give my kitty tons of attention when I bring her in.  Not only do I receive top of the line veterinary care (including a lesson on trimming a cats nails), but I feel that the prices are reasonable and the staff are great at communicating with both you and your pet.

After my first visit, I told myself that I was going to join yelp, and give Alpine Animal Hospital a stellar review!

Love the staff, all of the ladies there were super friendly and you can tell they actually really love animals.  My previous vet tortured my poor pet so my dog usually gets nervous around vets.  Dr. McClellan was super informative and so sweet to my chicken of a dog.  You won't be disappointed with the staff and the cleanliness of the place.

Dr. McFadden and the staff are very friendly and thorough in answering my questions.  The facility is well kept and doesn't smell like poop or urine.  They are organized, efficient and have a really cute girl working front desk.  they were able to do a checkup on my dog even though I came a 1/2 hour late to my appointment.

they are conveniently open on saturdays, and in a location not difficult to find.

the prices are standard, with heartworm treatment being cheaper than i've seen before.

the only complaint i have is that the regular checkup on my dog could have been slightly more thorough.  i remember past checkup appointments the doctor taking a pulse/heart rate, gloving up and using the otoscope/stethoscope just to make sure 100% the animal is healthy.  besides this, the doctor's visual inspection was thorough and diagnostic tests were done in a timely non-invasive manner

We finally stopped being lazy and decided to get our baby her third round of shots. We got Dr. McLellan and she was extremely helpful and answered all of my questions. Most of those questions I asked just to be a snooty bitch. JK.

Anyway, she was extremely skilled with a few tricks up her sleeve to get my pup through her shot with so much ease (my dog didn't even flinch). I definitely look forward to going to Alpine for all of the dog's future visits. Next up: Rabies shots :(

Their prices are extremely fair and she is pretty honest about what they offer and what she suggests. I love honest doctors. They are a dime a dozen.

    Update:

I saw Dr. McLellan on the news the other night! She was interviewed to advocate getting your pet's teeth cleaned at the vet rather than at those pet beauty bars. IT IS ILLEGAL FOR YOUR PET TO BE PUT UNDER LOCAL ANESTHESIA FOR A TEETH CLEANING. These pet salons only clean the surface of the teeth and do not check under their gum line for decay or any other health issues. Why would you want to subject your baby to a harmful "cosmetic" procedure!? It's like plastic surgery for dogs. Gross. And YOU'RE gross if you take your pet to these stupid salon chains. Unfortunately, the California Board of Veterinarians does not have the power to shut down these salons. All they can do is advise pet owners not to go. :(

I came home from work last week to find my dogs left ear bright red.  In a panic I called alpine and they told me to bring him in right now.  I couldn't believe that they would get him in that quick and especially with him being a new patient.  The entire staff came up to greet him and everyone of them gave him a treat.  He usually panics when I take him to the vet, but he laid down on the ground and was very relaxed.  I was thoroughly impressed with how much the staff cared about animals and felt very comfortable the entire time I was there.  Probably the best part was that the next day they called to check on luke to see how he was doing.  Thank you Alpine for making my decision of finding a new vet so easy!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this vet and office staff!

We adopted a dog back in May and needed to bring him to a vet for a check up and finish up some of his shots. I did a quick look on Yelp and decided on this place... and I am so happy that I did.

Dr. Rebecca McClellan and her staff are so great with our little one. Whenever we visit all the staff wants to come into the room and take a look at how cute he is... and well of course he just eats it up (not like he doesn't get enough attention as it is). They are all so gentle and listen to all of our questions/concerns and comment or reassure us.

I have never left the office feeling as if I was over charged or still had questions unanswered. I trust them with my puppers and that makes me feel good.

The older doctor here is great! he used to own the hospital for more an 20 years but then retired. he got bored at home so now comes in a couple times a week. hes really sweet and knows how to make your pet calm down. They have another doctor there that's much younger, but i don't care for him too much! he seems way too nervous and it scares Dolce! the women at the front desk is really nice most of the time but can be a little short and rude. I heard about this clinic from my husbands coworker and i took my mini-pin there the other day. There treatment was great!  Not only did Dr. Long explain in detail what was possibly the diagnosis for my dog but even gave some printouts of info. She took the necessary time with her and suggested we do blood work to comfirm/ rule out diabetes and they drew her blood there and in minutes we had results!!!!   AWSOME!!  thank goodness it wasnt diabetes and we have piece of mind.
Im glad we took the time to drive across town and bring my dog.
AND  lucky (our dog) received a "welcome" card today in the mail which was nice, i put it up on the fridge so i know exactly where to take her next time she needs medical care...

i  reccomend this clinic to anyone looking for a vet who cares and obviously loves what she does...

    thanks Dr. Long and Miranda!!!!!!!!!

I have been going to Alpine for a long time, but hadn't been in for almost 6 months. When I arrived, I was suprised to see all new staff. During our appointment, I was happy to find the new office staff and physician  (Dr. Rebecca McClellan) were all very nice and competant.

Because my cat is older and has been on long-term steroids for asthma, and had recently lost over a half a pound,  Dr. McClellan recommeded doing some blood work to make sure my cat wasn't having kidney or diabetic issues. I said I wanted to go home and think about it, and she was very respectful and didn't pressure me into making a decision on the spot.

Then two days later when my cat vomited up all of her breakfast, I was ready to find out what was going on. I made an appointment for later that afternoon. The next day, Dr. McClellan called me with the test results that had come back  so far, and we are waiting for rest to come in.

Dr. McClellan has taken the time to explain to me what the various issues are and options for dealing with them. I feel that she is a very caring doctor, and feel confident bringing my cat there.

    Ok All,

I've been going to Alpine for just over a year, and was sort of meh about it at the beginning, but decided to come back just one more time.  I was pleasantly surprised when I found out that basically all of the staff at the clinic has changed over...new vet, new office staff, new techs...the experience is so much better.

Today I took both of my cats for a checkup...no hiccups, the cats were treated with care.  I will look forward to going back.

After reading the review by France E, I decided to check out his/her other reviews.  As of this writing, there are 9 reviews that he/she has left and 6 of them are just as incoherent and rambling as the one for Alpine.  If you're going to write a review and flat out accuse a vet of abusing your animals, then try giving some detailed facts instead of veering off into left field.  Some of us truly do love our fur children and we'd much prefer a review to be written by a seemingly level headed person who exhibits signs of lucidity.

While I have not been to Alpine yet, I have had the pleasure of having  4 cats cared for by Amy Long while she was at Pet's Friend in Sunnyvale.  Amy is -by far- one of the most gentle, compassionate and caring people I have ever met, and she quickly became my favorite from my many visits to Pet's Friend.  When the time came for me to deal with the fact that time was nearing for me to go through the painful process of putting one of my cats down, I asked Amy if she would come to my house when that time did come.  She said that she would.  On a Thursday evening it became clear to me that the time had come.  I called Pet's Friend first thing Friday morning and was told that Amy was off that day, but that they'd call her.  Within 1/2 hour I had a call from Amy and she said she'd need to swing by the office to get a technician and would be by my house within an hour.  She was there in 45 minutes.  I wasn't emotionally prepared to handle being with my pet when the time came, but her "daddy" was, and he was very impressed by how Amy handled the situation.  She carefully bundled my kitty up in a towel, so I didn't see her after the euthanasia, and that's probably for the best because I was too busy balling my eyes out.  I can't begin to express the comfort it gave me to know that my sweet baby girl had been gently wrapped in that towel and was cradled in the most compassionate arms that I could have ever hoped for that  morning.  It's now about time to get my latest addition signed up with a vet, and I don't think I need to tell you all who I will be calling.  While I highly recommend Pet's Friend, I will absolutely follow Amy to whichever clinic her veterinary path leads her to.

And, BTW, as to the other clinic that France E trashed in a review, South Peninsula... I've been there too... several times.  From stray kitties to my own beloved fur babies.... been there, done that.  Every visit to South Peninsula has been a good one.  They're also very good about calling the next day just to follow up and check how everything is going.

We recently moved to Mountain View and don't have a vet. My cat got into a fight and has a huge gash on her back leg.
