Review from Nichole F.

I was craving a salad today for lunch and since I pass Alonti every day, I decided to finally give it a shot. I ordered the Cobb salad with ranch on the side. This was one of the best Cobb salads that I have eaten in a long time. I loved watching them make the salad too. Its ingredients were very fresh. Next time I go, I want to try one of their sandwiches because they looked so delicious too. The price for the salad was 7 and charge which is pretty average in the loop.

I got the Chicken Caesar salad and I'm convinced they substituted the chicken for pigeon. There was no white meat just joints and tendons. Needless to say I will not be back.

My co-workers eat Alonti three times a week. I never knew the place existed until I forgot my lunch one day and followed the masses across the street to a small, unmarked door leading to this glorious little place.
You want a hot meal for under $5? ALONTI. They have regular, always-on-the-menu heaven in the form of chicken tequila pasta. They also have daily special heaven in the form of everything from roasted chicken and mashed potatoes to chicken strips, broccoli and macaroni and cheese. I like chicken, clearly.
I don't like salad but my co-workers rave about the crispy chicken salad. I haven't tried the paninis. They look good but who picks a sandwich over macaroni and cheese? Exactly.
I'm sure I lose several years off my life with each creamy helping of pasta goodness but it's worth it. Just be careful not to jostle your bag around or you'll end up with a plastic bag full of tequila sauce that drips on your shoes all the way back upstairs. The to-go containers are lacking. But that's really my only complaint. The lunch staff is always happy and fast. It looks like some folks have issues with the breakfast workers but maybe there's a shift change before I roll in. Either way, for $3.50 treat yourself to the chicken tequila pasta and a bread stick at Alonti. You'll be back for more.Listed in: Loop Lovin'

One of my co-workers is a fan of "Taco Salad Thursday" at Alonti, and now I know why. I have few expectations for a fast lunch during the work day, but the staff at Alonti exceeded them with fast, friendly service and freshly prepared food. They even let me substitute in avocado for the beef on the taco salad since I am vegetarian -- and they didn't charge the extra dollar.

Lunch in the loop: Very decent lunch place that has a fattening (but delicious) "tequilla chicken pasta" which is basically a vodka cream sauce pasta with tequilla substituted for vodka.
Salads are also good because they mix them right in front of you and let you pick your lettuce mix and also additional toppings.
The staff there almost always seem to be chipper and happy which is a nice change from the dead/annoyed looks you frequently get from restaurant workers in the loop. All in all you could do a lot worse in the area if you are looking for a soup, salad, or pasta.Listed in: Lunch Survivor: West Loop…

I go to this Alonti quite regularly for lunch for one reason only...there is a guy who works here who has more energy than everyone else working in the place combined. He whips up meals, be it a hot offering, sandwich or salad with flare, always smiles, and makes you feel like a special customer. Even if the food isn't the best, when he makes it, it always tastes better.
One thing that I wish this place would change is their red marinara sauce. For pasta dishes and lasagna it is just too salty. Other than that the service is decent, food pretty average and it's an efficient place to get a quite bite without having to get fast food. -

Our 30+ person office placed a lunch order an hour and 1/2 before the time we needed it. The manager, Bobby, could not have been more gracious and accommodating. The food arrived on time, and the manager even delivered it himself and checked off every last item with us. The tequila pasta I had was delicious! We will definitely order from this Alonti again. Great customer service.

The vegetarian sandwich is what I usually get here and it's decent (pesto, mozzarella, peppers, sprouts). The hot lunch is also decent. They have a rotation of pasta, meatloaf, etc. Nothing ever tastes that amazing here though. It's all just kind of eh and it's not very healthy.

I would like to start this review out with "I LOVE ALONTI!"
I LOVE their food. Their breakfast tacos are awesome (however, I have them hold the potatoes b/c that's just too much for me).
This particular location is directly next door to the building I work in, which is a big plus.
4 stars, here's why:
+great food that is basically "made to order"
+the woman at the cash register (I THINK she's a manager) is always incredibly happy (almost too much so for 8am).
+next door to work

This would be a 5 star place in my mind, if not for the following:
One of their employees is by far, THE MOST brain dead person I have EVER come into contact with. I'm serious.
Never once has she gotten my order right (or anyone else that has ever been within earshot of me). She screws it up EVERY TIME (and I'm not exaggerating). She doesn't listen, looks at you with a blank stare, repeats your order back to you incorrectly, you correct her, she repeats it back again, correctly this time, you nod and say yes, she proceeds to screw it up seven ways from Sunday. You are then either stuck with the choice of correcting it yet again, and holding up the line (which is now quite long because she is S-L-O-W), and possibly being late to work, or having an incorrect order and just being overall annoyed.
I'm aware she probably hates her job (I really am), but seriously, there are people that would love to have a job period, if you hate it that much, THEN QUIT.
Other than this brain dead employee, I love Alonti, and the REST of the staff is AWESOME. -

Now that winter is upon us, I will start up my Alonti regime once again. They have everything I crave: chicken salad, chocolate chip cookies, pasta and crispy chicken salads. The cost can add up, but I am glad to have a place like this so close to my office.

Decent place to go for a quick fresh-prepared lunch in the Loop, if not a little pricey.

I enjoy their soups and salads. It's not my favorite salad/soup place though. Good to have them around the Loop though.

Had sandwiches and salads delivered to work. Sandwiches were fresh chips good and a giant cookie that really blew my Weight Watchers points for the day. Oh well!!!!!!

Alonti is in my building, so I'm so used to its presence that I rarely stop in. But I can't ignore my coworkers when they rave about certain things. If it were not for them, I'd probably never come here. But because I'm so easily influenced, I now stop into Alonti at least once every two weeks-- for their delicious yogurt parfait (the granola mixture is just so darn good) and their wonderful mac and cheese (perfect flavor and creaminess). It can all be a tad bit pricey, but I don't mind splurging a little-- especially when it's a hot, muggy day and I'd rather not step outside.

High-five for the Alonti BLT. Toasty bread, plenty of tasty bacon, fresh tomato and lettuce, substantial in size, and you can add avocado for only $1, which still keeps the cost of the sandhich under $5! Never again will I buy that $7 BLT from Corner Bakery. Alonti's version is cheaper, tastier, and faster. Also, they have the yummiest mac and cheese! Curly noodles coated in creamy sauce with just a hint of spice, and bread crumbs on top. Perfect!

Whoever heard of not subbing fresh side salad for nasty stale potato wedges...this place has been a stellar 4 star joint especially with the coupon they hand out on the street makes the prices down right reasonable for fresh hot fast food..I wish they would makes substitutions and then they would be 4 stars-I would reco the place though-special of the day always great value-chicken , etc...
