After doing some research and receiving quotes from a few others, my husband and I initially hired Aloha on the Rocks to be our bartenders for our wedding at the Loulu Palm Estate. Not only did Aloha on the Rocks seem to be the most reasonable for what was provided, we were really happy about the quick responses to all of our questions through email.
We also were happy that Aloha on the Rocks provided additional staff to help us with our other needs during our wedding such as passing around pupus, refilling of water, clearing and rinsing of plates, and help in cleaning up.
Before our wedding, Shaun, the owner, called and made sure all of our questions were answered and was very pleasant to talk to.
During our wedding, Shaun and his staff were very helpful. According to our caterer and coordinator, the additional staff we hired for the extra help did need a bit of a push to help with certain things, but overall were really pleasant and helpful. My husband and I actually felt really bad because at one point, they even had to work in the darkness, rinsing dishes. They were troopers!
We'd like to thank Shaun and his staff for a job well done, and we would like to recommend his company for your upcoming events. -

During the planning of my daughter's outdoor wedding reception on the front lawn of our venue out in the country (Kaaawa), we were trying to think of ways to add little touches of ambiance to the reception that would WOW our guests and take away that feeling of a typical backyard barbeque wedding party...when they thought of having a couple of bars set-up w/a hired bartending service. And after emailing and talking to the very few bartending services that we have on our island decided to go with Aloha On The Rocks because they were the only service that had a review here on YELP!
We weren't disappointed! They were a little pricey, but you pay for what you get right? And not only did they provide the ice, soda, juice & mixers, but they also brought their own tables, a tent & coolers for the ice too, (they provide everything, but the alcohol!) They also came with a full staff of at least 6-8 people that not only tended a bar set-up in our cocktail & pupu area, (which they quickly moved to the dinner area and right on schedule), but they picked up glasses, (which we rented from them), off the tables, cleared tables for us (we added this service), and also went around and made sure that our guests glasses were always filled with champagne! (And if champagne wasn't your beverage of choice...they went and got for you whatever else that you preferred.)
They were all very professional, super nice & friendly, smiled through the entire event and of course tended bar like champs...making perfect drinks & concoctions! Our guests, the Bride & Groom and their huge 14 people wedding party totally enjoyed them and were super impressed! Having a bar service definitely added that little touch of ambiance & class to our outdoor wedding! It was truly a night to remember!

Established in 2006
Aloha On The Rocks is Hawaii's first and BEST professional bartending service. The idea to start Aloha On The Rocks came from a friend who owns a similar business in Colorado. Some research quickly revealed that there was no such business in Hawaii. Not yet. At the time, I was a freelance architectural draftsman looking for something a little less ofiice-y. A mobile bartending business seemed like a fun job, and the timing was perfect.
Since those early days, my business has grown and expanded (architectural what?). I have provided professional bartending services at a wide variety of exciting events, including the grand opening to the Nordstrom store at Ala Moana, several fundraiser events for the Honolulu Art Academy and Bishop Museum, an NFL Pro Bowl party with professional athletes in attendance, corporate events on the USS Missouri, as well as countless wedding receptions, private parties, corporate events, birthday parties and holiday parties.

As the owner of Aloha On The Rocks, I enjoy the many aspects of operating this exciting business. I now have a staff of professional bartenders, as well as other vendors in the event industry, whom I consider friends. When I'm not behind the bar (or my computer sending quotes), find me surfing the north shore, socializing with friends, or designing and building custom furniture in my wood shop.
One of the many things I've learned by being a business owner - it's not enough to do a great job, you have to do a great job every single time! Consistency in service is crucial. And if you love your job as I do, consistency in providing a great service comes easily...
