The smell of Kiawe BBQ pulled us off the street. They had a fun little band playing covers of classic rock and roll songs. The food was reasonably priced. The meal itself was delicious, I had the pork ribs and my companions had the steak/chicken combo. Everything was tasty and the only ding was the draft beer was not very cold.

We were enticed by the kiawe wood fired grill signs, and against my better judgement, we bit on the promo.

It's not that their was anything wrong with the food, but it came with a waikiki price tag,  for what basically equalled a plate lunch. The chicken we had was overcooked, and the steak just didn't have the flavor I had hoped for. The ribs were nice, but the only highlight of the meal.

Three plate lunches, nearly $70 spent, left still hungry and unsatisfied. If your a first time hawaii tourist you may like this place, but if you are the adventurous type, there are better locations for the food they serve with better accommodations for the price.

I saw the sign for kona coffee and was in need some caffeine. So we stopped into the check out their coffee stand area with baked goodies as well.  Thankfully they were a bit busy so we had time to think about what we wanted to order. I asked the man working there what drink he'd recommend for someone like me that wanted an ice coffee that was sweet. He recommended the vanilla latte (with soy since I cant have milk).  It was DELICIOUS! It was sweet and the coffee was SO SMOOTHE. Way better than any coffee I've had on the mainland.

Another great thing they have here besides the coffee is their macadamia nuts sticky bun. If you nuke it for about 20 minutes, its warm and gooey and sooooooooooooooooooo WONDERFULLY YUMMIE. We came back a few times during our trip so I could stock up on these buns and of course get more iced coffee. Definitely come check this place out

I must have passed by here 100 times before we decided to give it a try. The kiawe wood grill is more than enticing, and filled the air with smokey rich flavors of barbecue. I have no idea why I didn't go sooner.

We decided to head here for breakfast and try out their local plates. Their version of the loco moco came with a nice juicy patty (of course cooked over kiawe wood), topped with scrambled eggs, all set on top of the brown rice and then came the most tasty teriyaki-like spicy sauce drizzled all over the brown rice. Holy cow, this stuff was delicious.

We also ordered sausages (not your norm, but again full of flavor), scrambled eggs, bacon with brown rice. I would say the breakfast is decent to larger size and quite filling.

You can see the chef cook up your breakfast, and they have seating area that faces a semi large screen TV for entertainment while you wait for your "cook to order" local grinds.

With the meal and 2 choice of drinks came to a total of 20 bucks and some change. If you need more convincing, they make these fresh plates of their specials and display them near the cashier/scones display case. Oh yes, they have scones, muffins, all that sweet stuff to satisfy a sweet tooth!

Large portions for a decent price. The ribs are yummy and slightly spicy. The coleslaw was sweet because of the pineapple in it, which was a bit weird in my opinion, but it can be remedied with salt and pepper. Overall a decent place to have dinner. You can't sit inside so be prepared for a little wind.

For the price, it was good. We went to the BBQ of a Friday evening, and enjoyed kobe beef burgers & roasted chicken. The sodas tasted a little "off", but it was still an overall good experience.

It's an outside cafe at the Pacific Beach Hotel.  Been here twice. Best coffee and cheap.  Americano is only $2.00.

    Better than Starbucks.

We tried their barbeque available on Thursday thru Saturday.  We had pork rib and chicken leg barbequed on site and it was great!  Their lobster looked really good and it was under $20.00.
