Whether you are a beginner or an veteran surfer, this is a great place to buy a surfboard. Not only does Kareem run a great shop but he's an avid surfer himself. On separate occasions, he listened carefully when I described my skill level and how I surf and than successfully matched me up with great surfboards. Here's the kicker though. When I made my most recent purchase, Kareem realized the right board for me was in his used section. He didn't even try to steer me to one of the newer, more expensive ones. He just wanted me to find the best board. How cool is that?! Some of the shady car salesmen I've met could learn a thing or two from Kareem about good sales techniques!
Last time I checked, the used section had a mix of epoxy and fiberglass boards. He also carries a line of surfboards designed specifically for women. Validated parking is available at Puck's Alley. -

Went in casually looking for a rashguard and to check out their selection of boards. Was quickly met by a youngish salesperson who tried to sell us a good "starter longboard" for $450...when we specifically said we were not looking to buy a board.
Was brought over to their decent selection of rashguards and vests and receieved so-so customer service. I asked about sales on items and was promptly told that nothing at the shop goes on sale. And that even if I were from the islands (I'm not), I wouldn't be getting any sort of kamaaina discount.
Salesguy kept walking back and forth from the front counter to see how we were doing, but didn't seem interested after we made clear that we were not buying a board. Maybe they work based on commission? I won't be heading back there, thanks.
