9.10.11 Lobby Bar Review Only
So after dinner it was time to chill and maybe grab a drink. Not really knowing the area too well, I decided to check the bar out at this hotel. The hotel looked very contemporary. As we walked in there was the front desk to your right and a pool table to your left. Further down was the lobby bar. Pretty good size for a bar and I liked how they had a fireplace. That's definitely a plus. The drinks are priced at hotel bar prices, $11-$15 for a drink. The couch was comfortable, the lighting was super dim, and so it was on the romantic side. They have an outdoor patio but since it was cold I only looked through the windows to check out the layout.
Overall this is a good place to have some alone time with that special someone if you need it.. -

I love the Aloft, and have been here many times. It is a spot of modernism within a old desert struggling to reinvent itself. If you are into fresh flowers and bellmen you wont get it here. Actually you wont get it anywhere in the Inland Empire, so put some overpriced gas in your car and head west. But if not stay here. I tend to like both at different times.
The Aloft is a bit aways from the hustle of the new swap meet known as The Mills. This place is the pits but that's for another reviews. The building is very modern and always very well air conditioned, which is a major plus when a cold day in the IE means its ONLY 80 degrees.
The pool tables are neat but just seem like they are there to fill space.
The Lounge area is great. The bartenders, sofas and drinks are amazing. Their take on bar food is less than stellar, but nothing is perfect. Beware, they keep Wasabi peanuts at the bar... no those aren't pistachios.
The rooms are very comfortable and great for business or a relaxing time with two people. No more. This isn't a room you can pile 6 good girlfriends in. They offer great rates online, so book through their Starwood website.
I love this place and sometimes go just to say I stayed in a hotel. -
Review from Anita L.
First time at an Aloft property and I guess I wasn't expecting what I encountered. It says it is a W Hotel so I expected more.
I guess if you're in the middle of Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga you don't really have much of a choice. For a Starwood property I definitely expected a lot more.
The room isn't small, but it feels cheap. When you enter the room it smells faintly of a locker room. The colors and decor are supposed to be hip and modern but from the partition between the room and bathroom to the ceiling and walls, everything feels UNluxurious, something I've NOT come to expect from a Starwood property.
The bed was lumpy, pillows too. The AC is a separate unit, reminiscent of Best Westerns and Motel 6s and the towels are scratchy and thin. The person sleeping closest to the AC will feel much colder than the person sleeping in the next bed. However, in the middle of the night, the AC unit will suddenly change temperatures leaving the room either colder or warmer than you'd like. There isn't a closet but rather, a few hooks and shelves behind a curtain.
The pluses include a bar refrigerator, an in-room safe and toiletries dispensers -- shower gel and shampoo.
If you are staying with someone, it gets a bit annoying when they get up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom because you can't really close a door behind you to turn on the light like a regular hotel. The other things is, there is a glass panel which runs from floor to ceiling which is part of the partition between the room and the shower. When a light is turned on it streams into the sleeping portion of the room which will wake up other people traveling with you.
On the plus side, there is a complimentary shuttle which will take you to some local restaurants and shopping areas. Staff are really helpful and friendly. -

I've stayed here twice. Both times had excellent service, clean room and plenty of amenities. This time I brought my little dog and they really took care of us. Brought us a little doggie bed and a mat with doggie bowl. They also have an area to take dogs for a walk with pottie bags and all. It was a perfect visit. Will definitely visit again.

First time at an aloft and it served its purpose very well. Went in expecting a reasonable hotel that was kind of nice and new and the place was cool. We went to the Santa Anita track the next day which was awesome and the place worked out great. Free wifi a plus. Big starwood fan and aloft is great new addition. Interesting note....the pool has music that plays underwater...

As a Starwood Platinum member I simply expect more when I stay at a hotel. The rooms for very basic, I didn't receive any upgrades as I am accustomed to receiving and I am not big on glass bathroom walls. The location is great, but I do not think I will stay here again. I recommend the Four Points or Ontario Sheraton.

Stayed here for a night because we knew we'd be drinking and didn't want to take that risk of a DUI
Hotel is nice for what it is. A concept of the W Hotels. Got a great rate with a movie and $20 food credit included.
Rooms are small but nice and very clean. Only gripe was that when you walked into our room, it had a strong odor of a dead skunk which was weird. It was only in the bathroom area that you can smell this. I couldn't find out where it was coming from.
When they say "Lobby Bar" they aren't kidding. The bar is right there in the lobby out in the open. They had a nice lounge area but nothing special about it. It kind of looked a little cheesy to me.
What I did like was the fitness center. I woke up early and decided to get a workout in before we checked out and I was impressed with the machines they had. Although, it was small with about 10 machines, each machine had a t.v and ipod hook up which was nice. Fitness center was kept very clean. The pool area is whatever though. They try and make it looks nicer than it is by putting cool, abstract furniture around it but it's still a rectangular pool like all the others.
All in all, we had a good stay here. -

In the midst of hot weather, sexy cholas, and a cool 50 minutes from LA there is a place called the IE. Being from the IE and always visiting the fam monthly I loved discovering Aloft. It's a nice change from the typical flowered printed comforters at Hilton, or the Burgundy and White set up at Marriott.
Aloft is doing it's thing well. The layout obviously yells "loft". Plenty of mirrors offered in the bathroom area that had my girl getting her eyebrows perfect. Shower had nice pressure, nice dim lighting, and very clean. The bed was hollering lay on me, and it grabbed you and rocked you comfy. Nice big windows in the room, and the walls are thick so you aren't hearing your neighbors private bizz. We had the tunes slappin, champagne sippin, and the big flat screen on mute. Definitely a nice little spot to getaway for a bit while on a fam visit.
If you wanna step out of the room, downstairs they have the pool table waiting, a nice bar fully stocked, and a courtyard pool with cabanas around. At night this is the place to be. Aloft gets hell of cracking at night in the lobby bar. It must be convenient, get your buzz on and all you gotta do is elevator it up to your bed. Sounds like a promising night to me.
Cheap and good don't come together often. For sure I'll be back!Listed in: Southern California Love!!, The IE (Inland Empire)

Located close to the Ontario International Airport and near lots of great shopping centers, this has become my favorite hotel to stay at. Even though I live just an hour away, it's a great get-away.
This hotel is one of Starwood's environmentally conscious hotels. I love that. Eco-friendly is the way to be. Most of the interior of the hotels is made of recycled materials, but you could never tell.
Parking's never been a problem.
The rooms are designed just to my liking. Walk in and there's a wall separating the bedroom area from the bathroom/sink area. The showers are perfect - they've got the shampoo and conditioner dispensers in the show (another eco-friendly effort). The beds are HUGE and so comfortable you'll just want to take it with you!
There's a bar in the lounge downstairs, as well as pool tables and couches. Very suitable for "aloft". Oh and a small food center where they have sandwiches, fruit, etc (a bit expensive though!). They promote events here although I've never been to one myself.
What I like BEST about the hotel is the price. I usually don't spend more than $100 a night here. And then if you're a Starwood Preferred Member, you can use it to your advantage.
The staff's helpful too. :) -

Very nice lobby/lounge. Good thing as there is no early check in.
I guess I'm not a "cool kid". A very nice place -- absolutely no complaints -- but I didn't take advantage of the free pool table, swimming or the little disco in the lobby. Free wi-fi is great. The room was extremely clean, modern, comfy and filled with little practical treasures; not plush or ostentatious.
I took too many pictures. You can see them on Flickr

I adore this boutique hotel brand. (I'm the 'Duchess'... duh! -- [as of today anyway])
It's partly the decor & partly the feel-good aspects reminiscent of being at the W (minus the W's rates) that make me an A-Loft-lover. Bliss spa products? Yay! Trendy vibe? So 'W' cool.
While the hotel is super close to the Ontario Airport and the freeway, it's a tad distant from the action at Victoria Gardens & Ontario Mills. You have to walk down unpaved streets if you're hoofing it. It plays into the IE's ethos; everyone drives [even to the corner] here b/c of sheer laziness. They look down upon you from their raised "bro" pickup trucks if they see you walking. O_O
The IE temper also leaves the bar-that-wants-to-be-a-club area pretty dead in spite of A-Loft's attempts to garner performance talent. *Maybe* six of the guests mosey down to the pool table. But lemme' tell ya': as someone who has been privvy to a 2nd floor room, those six can be quite a boisterous gaggle. Forget sleeping at all on a Saturday night!
IE & raucous aside, I love the A-Loft as a 'getaway'. The pool is salt water and warm. The mood--mellow: perfect for my alter ego. -

I was feeling up for drinks one night, and I hunted down Yelp for a nice quiet lounge my husband and I could escape to. We found this place (thanks Yelp!).
Nice little location, inside the lobby of the hotel. It wasn't crowded at all, the lounge was practically empty. We took a seat, and asked for some drink suggestions from the bartender.
I started off with some kind of martini with jaeger. It was AMAZING. My husband had a few drinks, and we continued the evening pretty nicely. We got through about 2-3 drinks each, getting a nice buzz going when the bartender tells us that they'd be closing in about 30 minutes and that he wasn't going to continue serving us until we "settled down"... what?
We weren't being rowdy or loud, we were just having a good time! Some laughs and jokes, but we weren't being belligerent. I barely felt tingly - what the hell was this guy's problem? At that point, I stretched my drink out and wanted to leave as soon as we could. The damn bartender was a total buzz kill!
So we left, with about $56 worth of drinks in us. Okay place, but hope that you don't get Mr. Buzz Killington as your bartender! -

I really liked it here. It did have the feel of the Standard hotels but not quite as cool..but then again this is located in Rancho Cucamonga so I would not expect a club to be located on the roof.
Nice modern look/feel of the room. The room did have bliss products which I happen to love (one of the reasons I like to stay at W's). The shower had a mounted dispenser that had a shampoo/conditioner combo. I am not sure who the evil person is that invented the shampoo/conditioner combo but make sure you bring your own conditioner.
The hotel has free wifi, free parking, pool and friendly staff. No room service though but they have a snack store down in the lobby. The rooms also had really nice flat screens in the room.
Next time I am working in this area I will make sure to stay here! -

Aloft- WXYZ
If you're looking for a crowd, probably not the place for you. Most times I go there with a small group we usually double the patron total (patron, as in customer; not Patron, as in adult beverage). =]
Having never stayed in a room at Aloft there is no reason for me to try writing a review about hotel amenities, however, I have heard from both locals and travelers that the room and accommodations are very nice, comfortable, and well worth the mula. Oh, and the hotel strives to be environmentally friendly so that's a plus. After all, it's not easy being green.
Being a "local" myself I drop by the hotel lobby occasionally and hang out at WXYZ (the hotel lobby bar/lounge) to have a drink or two...or four. I believe the hotel is cousin to the W Hotel chain so the lobby area is rather trendy and easy on the eyes. There's plenty of space for bigger groups, the seating is entertaining and comfy, and the two-way fireplace keeps the lobby connected to the outdoor pool area. The bar itself seats about 8; it's not long until patrons notice the light décor throughout the bar (and in the bar counter itself) changes color synchronously: pretty neat to trip out on for a bit. The TVs above the liquor shelves, though a bit on the small side, are always on different channels so it gives you something to do if you're not feeling social.
What keeps me coming back is the usually mellow vibe (though it can blow up once in a while), free billiards (don't get too excited, it's one table...but free nonetheless), the word search napkins, the cheese, fruit and crackers, and the bartenders: friendly and good at what they do.
If you're in the area drop by and check it out. If you're flying in for business, stay the night. If you're looking for a live DJ come Thursday night; otherwise, if you're super nice you might even be able to play your own iPOD and rock the place.

Review from Janea W.
I've been here twice for several days and I do have to say I am a fan. I like the amenities and the "express" feel of everything. I can pretty much do and get what I want at my own convenience. The front desk staff are great and can answer any local area questions. I've only been to Ontario for work so I don't really know the area beside the Ontario Mills.
I like the little convenience store in the lobby. Sometimes it works out better than a full-service restaurant. I wish they did have bell service though. That is a down-side.
The rooms have Bliss Spa amenities. There is a wall-mounted dispenser for 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner, as well as a body wash. Bring your own conditioner.
There is no housekeeping with free toiletries - if you forget a toothbrush or toothpaste you can buy an $11 kit. You're better off going to Target down the street.
The internet is free though and so is the gym. They have a great fitness center, and FREE PARKING! There's also a little pool with chic little seating areas.
The rooms also have one glaring problem - the curtains are cut way too small for the windows. It is very bright when the sun comes up and does not make for a good night's sleep if you've been up working until 2 or 3 in the morning. I have never requested a sheet or anything to block the window but next time I am here I most likely will.Listed in: Rest Your Head

I absolutely fell in love with the lounge! Last wednesday I held a social mixer at the hotels lounge for an organization that I am a member of. The atmosphere is very urban chic, an environment that is rare to find in the Inland Empire.
While we were there, someone hosted their birthday party and we got the chance to enjoy a live acoustic guitarist (he's there every wednesday btw). This location is perfect for a girls night out, summer pool parties, or hosting various events. I met so many interesting people while in the lounge and I plan to visit again very soon, bringing loads of friends with me!! This place gives me a break from driving all the way to Los Angeles to enjoy a night out in a beautiful chic atmosphere. -

Monterey, CA
I will preface with the fact that I stayed here while on a business trip. This is not the best hotel if you are traveling on business - the internet is slow, and the desks are small. Walking into the lobby is walking into a club every time - loud-ish, upbeat music. The beds are pretty firm, as are the pillows which seems to be less common these days. I slept surprisingly well on the mattress despite it's firmness. The rooms are a bit on the smaller side and awkwardly laid out. One of the positive things I can say about this hotel is the good sized TV in the room.
This is definitely a modern hotel and is a great idea, but still needs some fine tuning. There are a lot of cool little features, but they just don't all quite make up for the short comings. -
Review from Wanugee N.
Pleasant Hill, CA
Aloft is a hip new brand from Starwood, the former REIT turned Hotel corporation, and is designed as a more youthful version of the W Hotels for about 1/2 or 1/3 the price.
It is nearly exactly like the hip new Elements brand, which is the same youthful, Euro like design of hotels for the Westin brand of Starwood Hotels. They are nearly identical in construction. I have stayed at both.
Once you get over the hip, modern college dorm/hi-tech corporate lunch room/ chi chi lounge without bottle service lobby environement and design architecture to appeal to the 20 and 30 something neophite business traveler, you realize that is just another 4 Points Sheraton in euro-japo-hipster decor.
It is different, so most people like it, especially if they don't know where they were when John F Kennedy was assasinated (not even a gleam in their parents eyes), or never saw Neil Armstrong walk on the moon on live TV (only on 20 year old videos), or if '90's hip hop and euro techno are the golden oldies for them.
There is no closet, just a cubby hole area with a curtain. Maybe that is the appeal, as most of the people it attracts had cubby holes in K-12 with backpacks and roller bags for books. None of the boys in their school offered to carry the girls books home for them.
The sink area is immediately in front of you as you open the door, but since the design is euro-modern fixtures, you can look past that as a cool, novel bachelor pad design element, and walk around the divinding wall to the studio/loft apartment like space.
The lobby is more like a cool multi-purpose room and arts class, with colorful lounge chairs, large group tables with bar stool like chairs, sort of like being in that suburban middle class school district art class making paper mache sculptures, or Silicon Valle technology campus in a group brainstorming meeting, while eating your morning cheerios.
At night, it can transform into a cool personal club, with the bar right there along with a pool table. All you need are some fresh 20 or 30 something hotties with Fauxhawk hair or Louboutin heels in designer clothes to party with you, rather than the overweight, balding, plumbing supply salesman from Albuquerque talking loud into his Budweiser, his wide striped tie 3 inches above his bulging belt.Listed in: Wanugee! I stayed here between Sept. 23rd and Sept. 25th with 7 of my friends. We had 3 rooms; I put my spg points to good use! Overall, I really like this hotel. They have a small pool and a decently sized weight room. The feel of the hotel overall is very modern and youthful. The people staying there seemed to be pretty young, a straight-out-of-college crowd. I think this was what they were aiming for.
We had 3 rooms with 2 queen beds in each of them. The beds were clean and comfortable. The comforters and pillows were quite lumpy and uneven though. Not a big problem, we partied till we knocked out anyways, not like we needed anything super comfortable. Each room had a 42" LCD TV which included a good amount of channels. The rooms came with free WIFI, but we never had a chance to use it. The bathroom showers had no bathtubs, so no bubble baths for me ;( One thing I found strange was that their door was a giant moving mirror that had no lock to it. Another weird thing is that there is a frosted window in the bedroom that lets you look directly into the showers. It's cool if you're in there with your spouse, but when you're there with 7 other friends, it's a bit intimidating to wash your sweaty-ass with your friends probably checking out your silhouette. I did like the unique sink though.
They gave us 2 free bottles of water per day per room during our stay. Parking is free, which didn't surprise me too much, seeing that this hotel is somewhat in the middle of nowhere.
I would definitely stay here again. -

This place rocks my socks!
I wish they had one of these in every city across America. From the 42" plazma TV, to the down comforters, the fluffiest pillows ever, and the oversized spa shower, I was in pure bliss. I almost threw a tantrum that I had to leave... I wanna LIVE there. -
Review from Deanna J.
I didn't stay here, but I went for an extended happy hour special that they were having in the lobby. It was a great time. The drinks were STRONG. There wasn't much of a crowd but that was a good thing. We could still move about without brushing shoulders with people, and we could find places to sit. Awesome set up with a DJ who played to the crowd. When he noticed most people were dancing in their seats to a certain type of music, he stuck with it which got a few people up and dancing. This made me want to check out the aLoft here in Houston to see if they have the same extended happy hour or maybe even to stay there for a "stay-cation".

An eco-friendly and hip hotel. The front desk personnel were friendly and check-in was a breeze.
Pros:
1. Complimentary Parking
2. Complimentary coffee drinks to their espresso machine and nutty clusters for SPG Members.
3. Bliss Toiletries
4. 42" Flat Screen T.V.
5. Free Wi-Fi
6. Complimentary bottle water and Coffee/Tea
7. Nice/Modern room decor
Cons:
1. Elevators are slow
2. The water pressure on the "Rain Fall Shower" is low
3. No hair conditioner
4. Little closet storage area
Overall I'm impressed with Aloft, much better than the Hyatt Place located right down the street, after all it's a vision of the W Hotel. -

What a great mordern hotel. Any time we visit family in Upland we stay here. They have great prices and the beds are comfy - they could use some more pillows. The pillows are somewhat small for they bed, but do-able.
Will def be staying again next time we vist family. -
Review from Tina C.
I stayed here over a weekend promotion and thought it was a great value.
Pros:
1. Free Wi-Fi Internet
2. TV Hooks up with Internet for playing media via VGA cable
3. Giant 42" hdtv, flat panel tv
4. Bliss (sold in Bloomingdales) shower goods- same brand that is carried at the W Hotels
5. 1875 Hair Dryer - high powered, providing a quick dry for long hair!
6. Free local and toll free # calls
7. Easy Check in and out process- the only line is to blame yourself for not being able to find the slot to verify your identity via a credit card
8. FREE Parking
9. Clean rooms, very spacious
Cons:
1. Location is so so though it is right near Ontario Mills Outlet Mall and Victoria Gardens (dining) and a couple wineries in the area/wine stores
2. Loud kids/young people in the lobby - sometimes I just want peace and quiet and if you want that when walking down the hall or downstairs in the lobby- this hotel might not give it to you- it depends on the kind of experience you want
3. Less services for Gold/Platinum members since this hotel does not have any suites. However, they did automatically give me a high floor at the corner away from the elevator/elevator noise (usually what they do as an "upgrade" in places without suites or "upgraded" amenities/furniture rooms)
4. No Bathtub- so much for bringing the bubble bath!
Overall, this is NOT a luxury hotel, but an excellent hotel for the price range, great value, and beats its competitors for its unique and modern/cosmopolitan approach in terms of aesthetics and forward thinking technology in managing the hotel and within the room itself. Clean, orderly, and large comfortable rooms. You won't get customized, top notch service like at a luxury collection starwood hotel, but this is a great value! and def. a hidden treasure here in the suburbs of LA! Highly recommended ! -
Review from Ken H.
W Hotel Concept. Limited Service Brand with much more approachable prices. However, you get what you are paying for. This is not a W hotel afterall. You see all the hip designs minus all the big name designer designing the room.
Location:
Close to the Ontario Mills, adjacent to the industrial park but nothing nearby in the immediate walking distance in my observation.
Check in
Self Check-in Kiosk available right when you stepped into the hotel. They also have a desk which can assist you with the check-in. Since we arrived late, we had to check in manually. Fast & Efficient check in. No frills
Room
All the rooms are basically the same except the difference of King bed or two double beds. The bed itself is a bit firmer than the typical Starwood beds (Heavenly Bed, Sweet Sleeper Beds, etc). One thing that did bother me is the small pillow that they provided. Its so small that looks so weird on a king size bed (imagine two standard sized pillows on a king size bed - it makes your bed looks so empty). Sheets and liens were all clean and crisp. The media box located on the work desk is a nice thought. I just wish they can add the Ipod dock there to we can recharge easily too.
Blinds/Windows: Very annoying if you're a light sleeper like me. The blinds are NOT light proofed!! god I hate the fact when sunlight shoot straight into my eyes in the morning. Also the soundproof is kinda bad too. They are located on the fourth street, which seems pretty quiet during our stay, however, I can hear the trucks/cars pass by clearly (I was on the 4th floor out of the 5 total).
AC System: People have been widely discussed how LOUD the AC system is. However, this is actually more quiet than the Sheraton Ontario I had previously stayed at. I also liked the fact that it did not have an sensor which will turned off automatically. I can finally enjoy the AC / heater to my liking at all times.
Bathroom: No Glasses/Cups by the sink! I had to use my coffee cup to place my toothbrush! what kinda conservation policy is that! I agree with other people that water pressure is bit on the weak side but I like the Bliss products minus the dispenser. It gets dirty and moldy. Also the water pressure for toilet is kinda weak too. Another conserve/cost cutting policy?
Pool/Gym (Sweat)
Simple pool with some lounge chairs kinda resembles W hotel (the Egg shaped chair looks nice) but nobody used it during our stay. Fitness center located on first floor as well.
Re:Fuel:
Offers salads, sandwiches, fruits, drinks..etc. Price is decent for hotel and they also offers cheesecake factory cheesecake too.
Internet/Parking: Free. However the wireless internet speed was very slow.
Overall
Stay there when the price is right. If you are in this area and like the W hotel feel, this is the closest you can get. Don't expect full service hotel service level but it is very comfortable for a short stay without spending too much money.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I would have like to enjoy this place, however, i couldn't. It looked very swanky for a hotel bar and had a good seating area with a cool vibe. However we walked in, and stood at the bar for 20 minutes waiting for some semblance of a bartender, but they never came. There are too many other places that have great service nearby to wait around in an empty bar.

Really nice new and modern hotel. Room are great, however the management and service here really can use some improvement.
I am a gold starwood member and was previously a big fan of starwood hotels, but I feel that their service has really declined over the last 3 years.
I've stayed this Loft location 3 times for business, and ran into issues all 3 times:
3rd visit: I was given a room with a missing blankets and sheets. I walked in a saw a naked mattress. I went back down to the lobby (hauling my suitcase) and was given a 2nd room. The 2nd room was not cleaned - used sheet/blankets and towels everywhere... went back down to the lobby with my suitcase. 3rd attempt - FINALLY got a clean room
2nd visit: A loud sounding alarm kept going off at 7am! It was every 15-20 minutes until 9am.
1st visit: Called in advance and told them I was interested in staying at a hotel with the heavenly bed because I was in the market for purchasing one. Gal at the counter said that "all the rooms have the heavenly bed." I arrived to find that the Lofts have their own collection and did not have the heavenly beds.
The hotel itself and the value of the reservations gets 5 stars, but the big issues I had to deal with all 3 times brings it down to 2 or 3 stars. -

I have stayed here a few times, mostly to overnight next to the outlets. This time around, I stayed for business to meet a client the next morning. The hotel is centrally located to the business park, airport, and freeway. They are going for a relative connection to a W Hotel experience, and for the location and price, it does a decent job. The loft-style rooms are spacious and comfortable, and Bliss bath products gets you out of the room feeling refreshed. If you are looking for one of the better hotel choices in this area, you can't lose out by selecting the Aloft.

OK:
1. this Aloft is in rancho cucamonga/ontario. It's not exactly west los angeles.
2. it's obviously an off-shoot or "vision" of the W Hotel design team.
3. it's not a luxury/botique hotel, but rather a chain of mid market "business/tourist" by starwood hotels & resorts.
as such, it is, in one respect, quite outstanding relative to other hotel's in it's class. there are some deficencies in terms of its status as a "business hotel." For one, no in room iron?
the free wireless internet is a huge plus, and the bar area, i would venture to guess, is cooler then anything else in the vicinity. -

I have been here 3 times, courtesy of priceline. Each time I bid for a hotel, I cross my fingers for aloft. It is clean with a modern feel. Since it is a loft style, it is definitely smaller than what your average hotel room is, but I would gladly forego the older hotels (i.e. hilton) that charge you for everything (parking, internet etc) for the smaller, newer (large flat screen, fluffy comforter, mini fridge), complimentary wifi and free parking of aloft.
I would give it 5 stars except on occasion, it can be noisy for me with people walking by. It seems to be favored for it's late night lounging, and occasional live music so for the weary traveler who needs to get up early the next day, noise is a no-no. Also, there aren't real curtains or a medium to adequately keep out the sunlight. I would wake up early in the summer because the thin shade allowed a lot of light through. Otherwise, I am a happy camper. -

Not the best Priceline stay in the world. The TV was horrible. Remote didn't work well. They didn't have a blow dryer in the room. Had to call and ask for one. The staff, however, was friendly. The room was doable. I liked that it had free parking and wifi. That's always a plus. But for the Priceline price, I have stayed at better places for a bit cheaper. I wouldn't care to stay there again.

This is a limited service hotel (i.e. no restaurant, limited meeting space, etc etc) compared to their competitors such as: Holiday Inn Express, Hampton Inn & others this is the f-ing Ritz Carlton.
Amazing design, upbeat FUN feel around the hotel. GREAT customer service - staff makes you feel like they want you there.
Some fun additions to the hotel: free internet, 42" flat screen TVs - some channels in HD, "plug in" box so your computer can be projected on the tv. Awesome bliss spa products. Free water in rooms. Free parking. Pool table and hip bar in lobby. Didn't check out the gym but I'm sure it's nice. Grab n Go deli style options and gourmet coffee at moderate prices. -

Don't stay here in the summer! Air conditioning units in rooms do not work for hot weather. After trying 3 rooms, I am still in a 77 degree room! Came here to escape hot weather at home. I would have been cooler at home!!!

Been to this hotel once after a wedding party...It was chill. A nice lounge atmosphere. The staff was not too strick because we ordered pizza and brought an ice chest of beer in...Ghetto! I would come back again...The rooms are clean and quite shagable!

VERY TRENDY! The only hotel of its kind. No really, it's the only one in Cali due to funds no longer being available to finish construction on other sites. according to staff.
It sort of had a hostel and a cruise ship feel to it. When I say hostel not that I had to bunk with numerous strangers but because of it's hip, modern vibe. Everything from the furnishings to the color schemes. Very big lounge area with big screens, a live ticker, bar, pool tables, you name it. Great place to hang out after hours. Downside was the bar closed early, so do come with your own bottle of whatever makes you happy.
The rooms itself were very unique with its loft style rooms that had a closet wall (just like the ones in a cruise ship) seperating the bedroom and bath. The fixtures were very modern and loved the cloudy glass shower wall that was viewable from the opposing bedroom side. With the shower light on you can get a silhouette view of the person taking a shower. Another thing that really impressed me was the media hub. With it I was able to connect my iPod or laptop to the huge HD flatscreen.
Loved the hotel and can't wait for others to pop up. Definately a a nice lounge spot to hang out after the clubs or bars close. Not bad for business travel as well. Loved the pool and the gym. One last thing, people seemed to trip out on the elevator floors. Nothing big but some people got a kick out of it. Go see for yourself.
