Review from Laura H.
Christiana, TN
The hip younger sibling to the chic W hotel chain, Aloft hotels provide a boutique feel for a great value ($109 a night). I stayed at the Las Colinas location two nights and was extremely impressed with the room, staff and little extras you don't see (or at least get for free) at comparable Hilton/Marriott hotels.
The room was spacious with contemporary furnishings and very clean - appealing to my mild to medium germaphobia. The desk provided plenty of working space and even included a plug and play connectivity station for charging of electronics and the ability to connect your laptop, iPad, etc to the large LCD tv. I also loved that the shampoo/conditioner and body wash were in fixed dispensers in the spacious shower and not in the wasteful miniature bottles.
It might sound like small stuff, but you can never go wrong giving me free high-speed internet and two bottles of water a day. I also love that you can hang a card outside your door by 2am to decline cleaning service and receive either a $5 voucher that can be used at the moderately stocked 24/7 pantry or 250 points to your Starwood hotels loyalty program.
The staff was extremely friendly and the woman who checked me in remembered me two days later when I checked out, greeting me with a big smile and offer to print my boarding pass from the check-in desk even though I could print it myself five steps away at one of the two computers set up for that purpose. These were in addition to the computers set up in the business center, providing guests plenty of venues for free printing.
Finally, the location was wonderful - a 10 to 15 minute drive from Dallas Love Field and extremely convenient to my Irving office location. The hotel sits in a small cluster of restaurants including Chipotle, Jimmy Johns and Corner Bakery - a Panera-like restaurant I ate breakfast at both mornings.
I will absolutely stay at this hotel again, as well as any other Alofts I encounter in my future travels! -
Review from Zarina K.
I had high hopes...but was pretty let down. Yes, it is modern. The bar area and service was great.
The rooms were large but the closet space and storage area were tiny! Someone else mentioned the carpeting/ flooring, and yes it was cheaply done. My room didn't have water or tea, and the shower head was broken and was shooting water all over the place. Also they are all about being green, the TV in my room was left on all day by house cleaning and they screwed up on my points...The manager of the property contacted me about my feedback and I told him waht happened...and never heard back. The follow-up is horrible...I don't think I would give them my business again.
I was unimpressed. -

Modern? Sure. But it's at the expense of quality. The rooms are spacious, but the closet space and storage area are pathetic. All you get is a shelf with not much width at all. Beds are lumpy and quite uncomfortable to sleep in. The flooring was cheaply done and gave the room a very cold and uninviting feel to it.
I equate my experience here to staying in someone's renovated garage. Maybe a basement, but basements are usually nicer.
I can't complain about the service, and the bar seemed pretty happenin' for a lower-end hotel. Would I stay here again? Nah. -

I think I have stayed at this exact location about 20 times because I love the central location to everything in Irving Texas and its a great place to stay if you need to visit Dallas one day and fort worth the next. It's clean, it's comfortable and they have great rewards for gold members.

So...right when I walked in, I was politely greeted...
The "concierge" gave great recommendations on dining options around the area
The decor of the hotel when you first walk in has an IKEA type of feel... It's "cool" hip kind of appearance gives it an appeal that I think would impress a younger crowd...I however was not impressed with the comfort of the room. The bed is on a platform, and kept moving around... So not fun when you first sit down, or get up from the bed...
The little swanky bar had really great drinks... I had the "cosmo" which was quite tasty..
The hotel has a little area that sells coffee and if you don't have time to eat breakfast during your stay, they have some simple items for purchase.
The gym was small but had some decent equipment...didn't have time to do much in the line of entertainment as I was there for a training meeting.
Overall it is clean, and had a cool look, but as they say, looks aren't everything...however, I suppose if my time in Irving was going to be short, this place was as good as any... -

Meh....my stay was ok. The hotel appears very modern but the rooms come off cheap. Our comforter was washed and dried so it was lumpy when we walked it. It looked like someone was in our bed. The room wasn't very dark at night. I had to face the clock against the wall because that was crazy bright. The bathroom was very small. I hated how the shower and toilet were in this small closet type room. The sliding door was annoying and the glass facing the room in the shower was the worst. I experienced those in Spain this year and I hated them. If the window gets wet and the lighting is right you can see through it.
I really was not a fan of this hotel. I wouldn't stay here again only because I could get a better room elsewhere for less money. -

Um..
To be fair, I wasn't a paying customer. My friend was in town for a wedding and got to stay for free that night. I agree with whomever said it was a simple version of a W hotel. Everything felt like it was placed randomly. We grabbed grub from In-N-Out down the street, but if we hadn't, we would have been paying an arm and a leg for food. If I recall correctly, they only provided room service on certain days which seemed peculiar to me. The lady at check out didn't seem too ecstatic with her job, which is always a fun time.
If we'd actually payed for what they normally charge per night, I'd be pissed. If you're going to pay that much, head to a luxury hotel in Dallas for much better details and service. -

Dallas, TX
To be fair, I'll say that I went here hoping for a great bar experience and I cannot review the rooms. I went to admire the ambiance and try cool liquor. I drove all the way to Las Colinas hoping for something special. Instead, I got annoyed.
I must say, the free parking was awesome! I totally heart free parking. I'm not sure where designated parking for Aloft was though. All of the parking seemed to be "retail parking only". I took my chances and wasn't ticketed or towed.
I walked inside and was excited for about 3 seconds. That wore off. Aloft was pretty but didn't have the finished feel of the W. It felt like a newbie had decorated with all the right things but no real feel for what they were doing. It had no heart, no soul, just STUFF.
I found what seemed to be the only drink menu floating around, picked out a drink that sounded yummy, and made my way to the bar. Then, I waited. Then, I waited some more. The bar was obviously unprepared for the turnout of our meetup group. "They ran out of mint and can't make our drink" (the signature drink that night for the meetup was Mojito), said a girl who was already sitting at the bar. "I asked for an amaretto sour and they're out of that, too," she said. I waited some more. Two gentlemen came up behind me complaining they couldn't get service and they hoped standing behind me would help their chances. Fourteen minutes later, it did.
I tried to order the Golf Tea. "What?" asked the bartender. "The Golf Tea. It's on the menu." "What?" asked the bartender. "You know. It has sweet tea vodka and lemonade." "Ha?" asked the bartender. Then, she went and snatched up a menu. She browsed, closed the menu, and asked, "What is it?" I took the menu and pointed to the drink I wanted. She looked at the menu, then at me. Her face said, "I don't get it." Just then, a girl walked behind the bar with mint she had just bought from the grocery store. "I'll take a mojito," I conceded.
I finally visited Aloft! The ambiance was okay. The mojito ended up being one of the best tasting mojitos I've had. The service was not okay. I do not feel the need to see the rooms. -

So I read the Yelp reviews and visited the hotel's website and still missed some things. Here's a little clarification: Pool is outdoor but heated. (Missed that, didn't bring a swimsuit because I thought it would be too cold to take a dip!) Re:Fuel area has reasonably priced quick breakfast items, including lattes and fresh fruit. But, McDonald's is just across the street and they have better oatmeal. Also, Aloft is located in a retail area which consists of several businesses all within just a few yards of one another. So, you can also have a great breakfast at the Corner Bakery Cafe just a couple of doors down.
Now for some driving instructions: Las Colinas Mustang sculptures are just a few blocks north on O'Connor. Going south on O'Connor (to the left from the parking lot) you can connect with Hwy 183. Pretty drive past the Las Colinas Country Club and through well-manicured neighborhood. Much better than getting out on Hwy 114 (in front of hotel) to connect with other main highways.
Now, about that review: Bed was a little firm for my taste, but then again I'm spoiled to my sleep number. Shower was great, but lighting in shower area was dim. Not that I need a lot of light to shower, but really....I don't need ambiance in the shower either. Maybe the lighting is dim because the light from the shower area shines through to the bedroom. This means if someone else in the room with you sleeps later or goes to bed earlier and you take a shower...there's no way to keep the bedroom dark.
That having been said, this was a really cool place to stay. Easy in/easy out. Staff super nice. Got a great rate. Check the website for a variety of promotions and special deals.
Trendy, but cozy and intimate at the same time. Really liked it! -
Review from Mary P.
Minneapolis, MN
The hotel is well designed with efficient use of space. The bed was comfortable and room well appointed. I really like the desk lights as they make it so much easier to work. The heating was inconsistent, so hard to keep the room at a comfortable temperature. The only other comment about the room is that the desk chair adjustments were limited to low and really low, so hard to get really comfortable for a long evening of work.
Two employees really stood out. Steven and Arnold really stood out as a couple of the most helpful people I have encountered in 20+ years of extensive travel.
The breakfast was mediocre at best. The fruit cup, at $4.50 for an 8 oz. glass of cut fruit was priced high and the fruit was not all that great. The melons had a fair amount of inedible husk remaining and the pineapple had the same issue with parts of the core present. I'd stay here again, but run out somewhere else to eat. -

One word to describe this place: Chill.
The aLoft has many things to like about this place and few things that suck big ass about it.
What to Like:
- The atmosphere is trendy with cool modern/contemporary furniture
- The hotel bar is a good place to get drunk at a fair price
- It's quiet... unless you hear some people humping in the next room (I counted 3 rooms getting it on... yes I'm a perv).
- They provided Bliss as bath products
- Rooms are cozy and comfortable
- Gym is open 24 hrs. It's very clean, nice and gets the job done to make you look sexy.
- There's a pool and sitting area outside
- Pool table that's open for 24 hrs.
Why does it suck balls?
- Staff were as friendly as a raccoon with rabies (no "hello's," just dirty looks when you walk in... basically, most were dead behind the eyes).
- Bathrooms were designed with cool things in mind... but I hate that the toilet I take a dump in was like 1 ft. away from the shower where I clean my balls in.
- Nightlife around it is as boring as a movie staring Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez. -
Review from Jim C.
This one is identical to the one in Plano, same size room, same layout, same huge shower, if not for the extra high ceiling, (on the 1st floor this time) and connecting door, I couldn't tell the difference, I take it back, they wore different color polo shirts.
I especially like the multi media connection box, I know, geeky. They did leave a big bag of goodies, (cookies, chips, granola bar), and kept putting bottled water in my room.
One minor rant, the effing fridge was on its last leg, it makes this griding sound, I unplugged it when I went in the room, plugged it back before I went out, problem solved. -
Review from Marian B.
I stay here everytime I visit Las Colinas on business. It's conveniently located to my Dallas office and it's a great hotel.
It caters to the business traveler. The rooms are very spacious and clean. It was a modern look and feel to it with lots of color. The outdoor area is a nice spot. The green artsy sofas, rectangular lights and huge red lounge things (it's too big to be a chair) was pretty cool. Great deal for the price. That's why I'm here over and over again. The staff is very helpful as well.
Best part: FREE WiFi!!! =DListed in: Starwood Hotels!, Everything IS bigger in Texas

I give it a 5 star review. Based only on the music playing in the bar.
The Rooms are really 5 star because they are minimalist and extremely clean. The have a great selection of magazines for when you are popping a squat. I swapped them a copy of Entrepreneur for Wired and they didn't charge my account. They have dispensers in the shower which I figured is pretty modern.
The Bar was pretty awesome too, for a Dallas hotel bar. The bartender was nice, and hooked me up with a free beer. I almost subtracted a star for the loud crappy dance music they play 24/7, but added it back after I found out they say Aloha as a greeting. They may be trying a little to hard to be modern but the rooms are comfortable, clean and the staff is world class.
Wired: Chipotle next door
Tired: Wired internet connection in room. -

i haven't personally been a guest here but still received TOP notch customer service in other aspects. i arranged my out-of-town wedding guests (which was about 90% of all attendees) to stay here and aloft gave me a FANTASTIC rate. they were very quick in arranging it and made the whole process very easy. from what i know most of my guests that stayed there enjoyed it. all in all they appreciated the uber cool decor, service, and affordable room rate.
on top of that, they allowed me to take my engagement photos here and my pictures turned out awesome!!!! -

I didn't stay here so minus 1 star. Saturday was a relaxing night at this small bar - not too small for this small loft style hotel. This place as been open about 6 weeks?
The two bartender were very fun. Pool table, monopoly, connect 4, Giada DeLaurentis' latest cook book, fireplace, 4 LG LCD screens in a cube, infused vodka in a jar, tater-tots and egg rolls, metal bar top with LED lights, free internet so those yelpers on facebook i hope you got thos free drinks, a driver to get you were you need to go(even 15m downtown), typical W Hotel music mind you and a bit of an industrial area. Hey i hear the pool is heated. -

San Francisco, CA
Hip, Euro-style, low-cost hotel targeting younger, 20 and 30-somethings. aLoft offers great value, plus wows you with a new experience. The atmosphere is welcoming and social. The rooms are well-designed and care has been taken to provide space and amenities for every travel need.
I discovered this hotel last year and have kept coming back every time I visit Dallas. Plus, I bring friends to show them how amazing it is.
Here's a summary of +'s, -'s, and tips:
Pluses-
New, modern, well-designed facility
Comfortable beds w/ down comforters
Quiet rooms (insulated from the music at the bar downstairs)
Breakfast nook with to go items
Social area, bar, fireplace, etc.
Beautiful pool
Free wifi
Simple, uncluttered, stylish rooms
Desks, bench, fridge, and wide screen TV
Frosted glass window to the shower (no peeking ; )
Cool magazines (ex. architecture, spin, new yorker)
Bliss shampoo and products
Complimentary water bottle
Convenient location near highway 114
Chipotle, Corner Bakery, and Las Colinas restaurants nearby
Minuses-
Temperature control
I've stayed in the hottest days of summer with fridged AC broiling under a down comforter and awoken drenched when the heater over toasted the room in the cold of winter. Each trip was a few days, so I tried adjusting the temperature and layers but with no luck. Plus, the AC/heater air flow seems to blow directly in your face, regardless of which side of the room you sleep. Also, the hotel doesn't have light weight blankets, so there is only a choice of extremes: a thin sheet or a very thick down comforter.
Tips-
Book in advance! You can save a lot. When I booked ~3 weeks ahead, I paid $79 per night. When I had to book last minute, I paid ~$139 per night.. Also, watch for weekend specials. Currently, you can get the 2nd night 1/2 off if you book between Thurs & Sun.
ps.
Try their complimentary water in the lobby - from the glass dispenser containing fresh citrus, strawberries, grapes, and mint. The fruit imbued water is sooo goood!Listed in: Dallas Favorites

Very pleasant stay here. We went up to Dallas during Memorial Day weekend and didn't want to break the bank on a hotel bill. We scored a great deal at $55/night. Las Colinas is very convenient to everything - 15 mins from downtown and to most major points in Dallas.
This is like the Courtyard Marriott version of W Hotels. We usually stay at W hotels when we can so we felt right at home here. Nice vibe when you walk in the door and the rooms are smart and efficient.
The good thing is that there is a Corner Bakery Cafe, Chipolte and a pizza place within walking distance. I was happy that I could get my morning latte within a 1 minute walk.
If you want a nice room close to downtown for a great value, stay here. -

So, I was booking my Spring Break vacation and I decided I want to go for a big-boy hotel, but didnt want to put a major dent in the bank account. Luckily Aloft showed up in my search results and let's just say that I was very pleased with my decision to stay here.
When you first walk in you're greeted to some nice chill/lounge/house music. If that's not your thing, then, you're immediately taken aback, but for me it felt like home. The furniture and design have a modern slant to it and the exposed AC piping in the ceiling gives it that industrial touch. I dont know what they were pumping through the vents but the hotel smelled so good! The entrance during the day let lots of light in and during the night it was lit with some soft, yet vibrant colors. There's also a nice pool/patio area for guest to enjoy during the day. Unfortunately the weather turned against us during our trip so we didnt do much of that.
The rooms are pretty spacious and the beds comfortable. I even wanted to keep the accent pillow that was on ming because it was so nice. The rooms are decked out like the rest of the hotel: modern furniture with a bit of industrial thrown in. The bathroom is especially nice and the shower is pretty awesome. I just wish they had 1 more extra chair in the rooms instead of the bench sitting below the wall-mounted television.
The staff was very courteous except for the bartender. I dont know if she was having a pretty "blah" night or just the slowness of it all, but she just didnt seem to want to talk to us much beyond taking our order.
Overall I'd definitely recommend it. If you want to stay at something similar to the W, but without all the extra added costs, I say Aloft is the way to go! -

To say that I have stayed in numerous hotel rooms is an understatement! And they all seems to blend together. Aloft is different, funky and refreshing (the price is refreshing too). My line of work only affords me a couple of days [max] at the same hotel, so the Aloft design works well for me. In and Out with no hassles. Modern rooms with ample plugs (for all of my gadgets), good work space, walk-in shower (no nasty, cold, plastic curtain rubbing up against up in a re-lined slippery tub). There is no room service or elaborate restaurant, but there are light breakfast and snacking options. There is also plenty of reading material available... New Yorker, Wired, Spin and USA Today. If you're looking for an extended stay, this may not be the place for you.
Alfot is now officially my second favorite hotel in the Dallas area. With the #1 position being held by the Hotel Zaza on Leonard St. -
Review from Ryan J.
I love the W hotels (especially Dallas) so I decided to check this place out on the raving reviews from a friend.
Our company has an office in Las Colinas I frequent so I've tried a few of the following hotels for comparison.
- Hilton Garden Inn (recently added on to, $89-99 which is great pricing).
- Omni I believe (overpriced) and outdated but it has been a year or 2 since I was there last.
- 4 Seasons (I like their renovated rooms, if I get an old room I ask for a new one)
- W Hotel Dallas (1st pick but $$$)
- NYLO (If IKEA made a prison room this would be it, very small, concrete floors)
- A couple others I can't remember -Sheraton and a Marriott Residence Inn.
The W is my favorite but way too pricey, the 4 Seasons is my regular spot with a great corporate rate but now I will be having a hard time choosing between 4 Seasons and aLoft.
I love that they have a little box on the desk with hookups for the TV. I often hook my laptop up or a little HD box (WD HDTV) that can play movies I download onto the TV and I hate fishing behind the flat panels for the HDMI inputs (4 Seasons). I love new hotels with these hookups.
I personally didn't care for the fruit water downstairs, it was bitter and I took the last cup which wasn't replaced with new ones even hours later.
The room is nice, high ceilings, i didn't expect the bed to be where it was but it was a welcome change from usual hotels.
The lounge area is nice, there is a tiny pool out there. The ironing board sucks, it's tiny, wobbles and pinched my finger when it didn't stay up. But those minor quibbles are the only things I didn't like.
My only issue is I can stay at the 4 Seasons for $5-10 more. I get the Starwood points here so I will be back! -
Review from Brian M.
Funky, Chic. Cool. And fun.
It starts with hip music playing before you even walk in. Then all sorts of neon colors from the swanky ultra-hip decor greet you when you enter past the waterfall. The clerk at the round desk greets you with "Aloha: before checking you into your loft.
Immediately you know something's different. This isn't your run-of-the-mill hotel. This is "aloft."
A "vision" of the W chain of hotels (and therefore the Starwood chain), aloft is following hot on the heels of Hyatt Place.
The rooms are minimalist and highly functional. Your "loft" isn't big, but every inch of space is used. You have magazines (Details, Spin, etc.) for your reading pleasure, a big-screen flat panel mounted on the wall with about 10 different inputs for you to plug in whatever you've got and enjoy it on the screen. Your bed is decidedly firm. The shower is not a tub; it's a glassed-in shower with no bottled shampoos; a functional pump of high-end shampoos and body scrubs are the order here. Free wired or wireless wifi are also ready for you.
Outside your room, back in the land of the dance music playing, the have Re:Mix, a lounge for you just to hang out; the "w xyz" bar with a happy hour each night (get it? w?); Re:Fresh fitness center; the pool and so forth.
My one disappointment was Re:Fuel, the 24/7 food center. At the Hyatt Place, this concept is rounded out with everything from candy to soft drinks to sandwiches to selections you can order. A chef is there for breakfast, for example, and I can swipe my room key and have an omelette from the menu freshly made, or I can just grab some french toast and be on my way. This was NOT the case with aloft, much to my chagrin. I was hungry at 11 p.m., not having had dinner, but knowing I had Re:Fuel downstairs. I got down there to find chips, soft drinks, cookies and cheesecake. Those were my choices for dinner. So I had a $6 piece of cheesecake for dinner, which I had to take to the front desk clerk who doubles as cashier. This concept needs some work.
Otherwise, this is a fun, funky, hip concept that takes the drudgery out of staying in a hotel. I'll be back at aloft on my next visit, but I'll take better advantage of the minifridge in my room :-) -

Starwood's Aloft is a favorite budget chain hotel. Stayed at the Las Colinas location during a tedious work week last winter, and then a second time last night with Rocky on our road trip from Miami to San Francisco.
It's a really nice, affordable pit stop if you don't care about being close to activity:
*Aesthetic is an Ikea-ish version of W Hotels. All hallway artwork is for sale at $2-500. Design Director Naoto Ono did a fantastic job!
*Fireplaces, full bar with appetizer menu, pool table and free wifi make for a very comfortable lounge area. Music is loud if that's an issue for those of you who need quiet to get work done; but no worries, there is plenty of desk space and natural light in the rooms for working.
*Pool is very small, but heated. Not great for laps, but I still enjoyed early morning swims in 40°F weather before heading off for long days of tradeshow meetings.
*Gym is minimal but more than what you would expect from budget hotel - cardio machines, free weights, benches and yoga mats; personal TV's; bottled water; nice view of the pool area.
*Loft style rooms are big and comfy. High ceilings. Large flat screens. Platform beds. Modern bathrooms with full length mirrors and Bliss Spa toiletries.
*Lobby has a 24 hour "refill station" where you can grab cappuccinos (pretty decent for an automatic dispenser), fresh fruit cups, salads, sandwiches and baked goods.
*Rooms are cheap! $80-100 per night. -

The soap smells good, but the service stinks.
I was told the hotel offers airport shuttle service and free parking. Turns out the shuttle doesn't go to the airport. That tiny piece of important information could have saved me wasted money and time talking with the totally unsympathetic desk attendant. She eventually offered to cover our cab fare to the airport, but the whole point of staying there was to have parking and a place to stay the night before - NOT to get up and drive to the airport early in the morning. Plus, the return cab fare (which she did not offer to help with) would have been almost as much as our parking.
It's a cool hotel, but we got such a bad reception, we won't be back. -

This place has potential but fails in execution. Aloft tries for the hip and cool vibe boasting a hip and happening party on Friday nights... but my boyfriend and I were definitely the only ones downstairs at the bar. Oh yea, and the drinks here are quite steep for being in Irving!
The rooms are set up loft style. When we walked in the door, we were immediately greeted by the bathroom. Kinda awkward. Other than that, the room was clean. Bed was comfortable.
Oh yea, try their fruit infused water in the lobby! It's free! And it's pretty tasty! :) -

Gonzales, LA
Comfortable, very modern hotel. The area was safe and comfortable.
The Room:
-Clean and modern.
- In-room safe
- Comfortable bed and large wall-mounted TV.
The Negative:
- My wife didn't like the shower, it's entirely tiled and she said it was "gross" and reminded her of a dorm shower. There's also a 1" gap where the door meets the shower enclosure that allows a lot of water to splash out.
- The initial room key was given to me with the following disclaimer "I think the floor should be dry in there now." It was not, and why would you give a questionable room out? Apparently the AC had leaked, and they fixed it, but not before it soaked the carpet. I went back up, and they gave
me a new room with lots of apologies.
Misc.
-The location was pretty convenient to most of Dallas. We tend to cover the entire metro with our visits, and this was centrally located. -

My first experience at an Aloft property. Not bad. Very dormitory-ish, but not bad. My only complaint is that the gym is much too warm. Turn on the A/C!

The Good:
:: it's a very different, interesting alternative to your standard lodging for business travel
:: modern
:: new and clean
:: small but well-laid out rooms. you don't need a lot of space, and that's why i love the rooms here.
:: the rooms overall. king-sized bed, down comforter, down pillows, glass-door shower stalls, Bliss products for use, in-room safe that can easily fit a 15" laptop and more, in-room mini fridge, kohler fixtures, comfortable desk chair, 42" lcd flat panel tv, interesting magazines for reading, per-cup coffeemaker that also makes per-cup tea
:: they don't nickel and dime you like other business hotels do. there's free parking, free wireless, free complementary bottle of water on arrival
:: 2 computers for free use with free printing.
:: kiosks for checking in, checking out, printing your boarding passes, getting extra room keys, etc
:: entertainment options. they have a wii for you to play for free til the bar closes at midnight. i had a blast playing guitar hero each night i was there!!!
:: the bar. they have awesome drinks, awesome appetizers, and friendly sociable bartenders
:: outside. there's a cute small pool (more for relaxing and wading than actual swimming), cute cushiony areas, and plenty of chairs around tables and a gas-lit firepit. makes for a great evening low-key outside outing
:: 24-7 access to food and snacks and drinks. it's not free but why would they be?
:: the manager ryan is really nice, walked around to greet guests and talk to them.
The Bad:
:: the nonstop club music in the lobby and bar area. i wish they'd play a mixture of music, like some frank sinatra, some indie, some electronic, etc. not just horrible club music 24-7
The Ugly:
:: none.
Would I go back? Definitely. It's different from the standard place to stay for a business trip, and I love the minimalist loft-style interior.

For the price you really can't beat this place!
Very clean minimalist modern surroundings in the rooms and lobby.
Flat screen in every room. Also a mini-fridge to hold your left overs from dinner and a microwave to heat them back up in the lobby.
The outdoor fire pits and couches in the bar are conducive to any kind of nightcap you have in mind, whether you're bringing a group of people for some after dinner drinks or whatever the occasion may be.
The food/snacks they sell in the lobby are mostly healthy and taste great. The drinks they offer include everything from Odwalla to Vitamin Water and even milk!
Stayed at this location on a few occasions and have also stayed at their location in Lexington, MA and had -

Stood here for work recently and was satisfied. My coworkers had a problem with the bathroom doors though, they didn't know that you had to pull it out. This is a chic and funky hotel that is set for the 30 something professional who is traveling. The interior is funky, especially with the cow print in the rooms. The elevators have some type of gel floors that leave an imprint of your feet for a while. The mattresses are comfortable and do offer a good nights rest, the tv with media hook up is cool. You can plug your iPod in and see it on your tv. They do need bigger ironing boards, they are the small type and it gets annoying after a while. Another big plus is the pool table and the bar in the lobby, you can have a drink and shoot some pool to kill some time.

I love the Aloft. I always try to stay there when visiting my apartment locating office in Las Colinas. They are always so nice and helpful. The rooms are always clean. They leave a bottle of water in your room. Nice! When I stay at the Wyndham the bottle of water they leave in the room is $3 so I appreciate the free water. Drinks are kinda expensive in the bar but yummy! The fruit fusion water they serve is yummy. They have shampoo/cream rinse and soap in the shower so I never have to bring any of that when I travel. The fitness center is perfect. I just wish they had a hot tub!

If you need a hotel that's trendy, has neat stuff on the walls, has a Wii and plays dance music over and over and over and over in the lobby, and everybody says a cheesy "Aloha!" everytime you walk in the door, then this is your place. If you're in town on business and need things like closet space, actual drawers, ice ... go elsewhere. I was very much looking forward to staying here because of the reviews and have to say I'm stunned. The staff is friendly and the rooms are clean, but you could say the same thing about a freaking Holiday Inn. I'm in town on business for five days and will be leaving the Aloft after one night (I'd leave sooner, except I've already paid for the first night). Business travelers, avoid at all costs.

My wife and I stay here on our latest trip to Dallas. We found that it was conviently located for our needs, as we were needing to be near the airport for our duration. The staff was polite and friendly. The rooms were were like sleeping in an Ikea, we loved it.

You get what you pay for... This place tries real hard to be hip with the new concrete, modern look. However, they failed twice when there is a problem. Clearly, they have not invested in some good managers that get things done. For 2 weeks in a row, half the tv channels (hbo,CNN,cnbc, etc) have not worked. The front desk gal just giggles and says, "ha ha, I don't know what to do? I guess we will have to call the cable guy!". This place is a lame attempt to act like some upscale New York high-end in-crowd loft hotel. The room is nice, despite the "hip" concrete floors, bare concrete walls & other "hip" stuff.

My first time at this chain. It's literally a mini W. Or W jr. If you are a fan of W, then you will dig this place. I much prefer the element, also a starwood hotel, a better designed hotel without the pretensions.
