Review from Tenley W.
Boston, MA
I stayed here on two separate occasions for business purposes.
The staff at this hotel are VERY sweet and understanding. They put up with our questionable drinking habits, last minute reservation changes, and late night food needs. The van driver who picked me up at the airport was also an absolute gem.
They were so good to our company (many of which had been staying in the hotel for well over two months) and made us all feel at home.
The gym room was just what I needed, rooms were clean, and the coffee was hot, but the staff is what makes this place great. -

I had a FREAKIN blast here! Maybe the stars were in perfect alignment, but the couple of times I have been here have been awesome! This was my first Aloft property (I've also been to the one in Charleston, SC) and was impressed. Convenient shuttle service from Ohare, just minutes away, and there's a movie theatre kind of caddy corner to the hotel. The train station was also very close and they will give you a ride to it. Took about 45 minutes to go from the hotel lobby to downtown Chicago.
Trendy describes this place better than any word I can think of. The previous review is right. It is baffling that more hotels don't do this design. There was a really cool bar in the lobby, music playing, people socializing. Cool, soft, blue lighting. Neon blue lights in the elevator with a weird "splash" floor. Walking into the lobby in the evening felt like I just walked into some downtown trendy lounge bar. There's a lot of blue here. I had some sort of a blueberry house fusion drink that night at the bar that was really good, and an awesome bartender that I chatted with for most of the night. There were beautiful gorgeous women all over the place (props to the ladies) and everyone was just really happy and friendly. It was almost weird, LOL!
My room was awesome. I've never seen a hotel room design like this one. Think of contemporary modern. Glass door shower with soap and shampoo dispensing pumps in the wall in the shower. There were sliding pocket doors, a neat clothing, book, coffee, shelf unit thingie. One of those cool bowl sinks, and a little mini fridge. The only flaw is that it's a tiny fridge. I would have loved something bigger, but it's totally do able. There's a king sized bed with a big wall mounted HDTV directly across from the bed. The curtains were the roll up types and they had this funky light alarm clock that I questioned if it would wake me up (so I used my cell as a back up), but the flashing light in the morning actually got me up. There's plenty of electrical outlets in convenient locations and the AC unit was just a whisper. I highly enjoyed this hotel and look forward to future visits!Listed in: Hotels

The front desk staff is SO RUDE. Always rushing you and saying whatever they need to just to get you out of their face! When I called to ask a question, she gave me a one syllable answer then tried to give me the boot. Then I went down to ask about restaurants within walking distance, and she points "THAT WAY." They were just ghetto. The hotel itself is very modern and comfortable, but it was the service that literally made me want to never look back.
The Rosemont stop on the train is about a five minute drive. The shuttle will take you.
At least the shuttle drivers are nice!
The fitness center is new and clean. Free weights, two tredmills, two bikes, two ellipticals with TVs. They also offer free headphones. They don't provide filtered water in the fitness center like all other Aloft hotels do, though. -
Review from Stacy P.
I think the hotel itself is closer to four stars, but the staff here didn't seem to want to be at work. Eh, who can blame them.
When we walked in to the lobby, the comment my friend made was "this place is trying too hard." I knew exactly what he meant - it feels overly trendy, but oh well. There's a cool bar to the right, and tons of food / snacks / drinks over to the left (for purchase).
The rooms are cool and comfortable, and they give you two free bottles of water - most hotels leave it there, but charge you for it if you drink it. Also, I loved that the showers have big shampoo/conditioner and body was dispensers, rather than leaving those tiny little bottles. I have long hair, and there is never enough conditioner in the bottles for me. Plus, it's so much waste! These dispensers are great, and I hope more hotels move towards that.
The location is pretty near the airport, and they offer free shuttle service. There's also a bowling alley and Irish "pub" within easy walking distance.
The hotel does charge you $20 to park, though. -

This was my first stay in an Aloft hotel (part of the Starwood Group) and I was not impressed.
We decided to show up early because the website stated that the parking was free if you came to the hotel bar during happy hour. So we parked, checked in and headed to the bar to get our parking validated. At the bar we were told that the deal was no longer on and that they could not validate our parking. I informed them that the website stated that the deal was still on. They didn't believe me so I had to pull it up on my phone to show them. After much to and fro they finally agreed to validate our ticket. Then when we left the hotel the parking lot attendant tried to charge us $25 for parking... I explained that the hotel had validated it but they clearly hadn't done whatever they were supposed to do to validate the ticket.
I had no other option but to pay the $25 and drive right back to the hotel to complain. They eventually credited my account with the money.
The room we were in smelled of bleach or some other cleaning substance and overall I though t the attitude of the staff was poor. So 1 star for the Chicago O Hare Aloft. -

Rooms were nice, beds were comfortable, staff was nice; but why-oh-why would anyone want to stay out in this area...unless you need a hotel near the airport (and love the sound of airplanes taking off or landing). Nothing to do or see here. Only one restaurant nearby to walk to (five roses irish pub)....otherwise you have to do take out. All sides of the hotel face something ugly...either a busy highway or a parking deck....i recommend the parking deck side since it is relatively quieter.

I spent a night at this Aloft before catching a flight the next morning, and I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
We arrived here late on Friday night via the blue line to Rosemont. The hotel website says the blue line is "a short walk away." That's accurate, if by "a short walk" you actually mean one mile. This would have been very helpful to know before we trekked down the road lugging our suitcases on the frigid December night. I expressed my displeasure with the website wording when I checked in, but the front desk clerk was so genuinely apologetic ("you should have called us! We would have picked you up!"), I truly couldn't stay mad. Plus I was so wowed by the decor - sunken seating area, huge windows, and a happening bar scene - all I wanted to do was drop off our bags and come on back out for a drink. Which is exactly what we did.
The rooms themselves were wonderful - we saw two of them, as we were first put in a room with two double beds and then switched to a king. Some are much larger than others - the double room was much roomier. Still, we had a nice bathroom space with Bliss bath products, and a comfortably firm bed. The high ceilings made the room feel much larger than it was. I think the Aloft chain does a great job of approximating a slightly less-frills W, complete with a vibrant bar crowd - surprising for what is essentially an airport hotel.
In the morning, the shuttle picked us up exactly on schedule and dropped us at the airport. It couldn't have been easier. Sure, the location is out of the way if you're planning to spend time in the city, but it's incredibly convenient to O'Hare. If I ever need to spend another night close to the airport, you can bet it will be here.Listed in: Home Away From Home

Aloft's are new trendy hotels popping up all over the country. Overall they are great, however I have two issues. The beds are not comfortable. To go along with the modern decor they picked low beds without boxsprings. As some people may like this, I never get a good sleep on them. The second problem is with their cafe. They pride themself on a clean, fast, modern hotel yet the food prices are outrageous. I'm sorry, but $2.00 for a banana is a bit crazy.
On a positive note, rooms are very clean. Huge wall mounted televisions. This location has a wonderful indoor pool and fitness center. The room setup is perfect! Great location in a growing area of Rosemont. 5 minute ride to Ohare, van leaves every 20 minutes. Enjoy -

A couple of my friends and I stayed here for NYE since we had tickets to the NYE Ball at the convention center. Here are a few good & bad things about the hotel.
Pros:
Free shuttle service
Nice rooms
Sarpinos will deliver to your room on weekends til 4am
2 free bottles of water in your room
Cons:
There was a nasty stain on one of our pillows
$20 parking
Only food options were a few overpriced sandwiches and chips in the lobby
One ice machine on the 2nd floor -

I chose this hotel for the comfort factor and security of a woman travelling alone. I reserved a room for my spouse who arrived on a late night flight from NYC. As expected (this is Chicago in Winter people) - her flight was delayed and she called the hotel at 1:00a for a ride from the terminal.
This is an exact quotation from their website - "Traveling between the airport and hotel is a breeze thanks to our complimentary shuttle, which runs every 1/2 hour from 5am to midnight.. No need to reserve in advance! At the airport, just look for the signs to the CTA station and hotel shuttle area--it'll be waiting for you, or there within a few minutes. Arriving between 12 midnight and 5am, just call the hotel at (847) 671-4444 and we will be on our way. For your flight out, just hop on the shuttle again at the hotel's main entrance" see http://www.starwoodhot....
The manager made her take a taxi to the hotel - what a poor showing for a chain that aspires to be different. We have been regular customers (staying in Lexington MA and Denver CO) but I have to say this experience will make us think twice before booking another stay. -

Beware the free shuttle 24 hours a day! I had a late flight that was delayed. Although my husband called for me to confirm late (after midnight) shuttle service, when I arrived at O'Hare and called the hotel, George (night clerk) relayed that the service stopped at midnight. The next morning I inquired at the desk after re-checking the published details on the website. The morning clerk (no name badge) switched customers when I man came up and said "I need to speak with you.". Neither one of us was given a courtesy "Excuse me, please." or "I'll be right with you."
Makes me wonder if my husband called from the airport would George have sent a shuttle? If I had interrupted a male customer would I have waited my turn?
That said, the beds are comfortable if you like firm beds, but do know: no tubs and no spa/hot tub. -

First stay at an Aloft property. Great stay, great experience. Just a couple of demerits. Keep reading.
Why more hotels do not adopt this design ethos really baffles me. I've stayed in thousands of hotel rooms (I am on the road 250-300 days a year) and I certainly have my preferences and annoyances. This place scores in BIG ways.
The good stuff:
-free wi-fi, though not terribly fast
-excellent, fresh, well thought-out design. Bright colors, stainless steel, concrete, wood grain and glass predominate both in public spaces like the lobby, bar area, pool, exercise room and of course the guest rooms. NO brass, NO floral draperies, NO fru-fru stuffiness. Dug the groovy liquid floors in the elevators, too. You'll see.
-funky analog non-am/fm alarm clock next to bed. Hey, the little details matter to me.
-efficient use of space in each room. Bench for luggage or dressing, small closet for hanging coats/clothes, tiny cubby behind the bed containing the iron/ironing board
-42" flat screen TV with a decent amount of HD programming and a desktop portal for hooking up a computer to the video
-a minimum amount of "advertising", you know, those little cardboard placards stating "Order a pizza!" or a folder containing "local dining options" cluttering up all flat surfaces. Please--we know how to use search engines. Just about everyone who stays at a place like this has a laptop/tablet or smartphone. That's how we'll decide what to do if/when we need to.
-comfortable platform bed, carrying on the minimalist design theme. Topped with a clean, fresh-smelling, soft comforter and a few cylindrical throw pillows.
-clean, well-equipped exercise room with treadmill, stationary bike, elliptical, weight machine and (surprise!) a full set of dumbells. It is possible to get a real "gym quality" workout here.
-pool looked nice, but a little too small for doing laps. Also crowded at peak times.
-an option to self-check in or check out. Desk people seemed talented enough to provide good customer service so I did not need to use these.
-mini fridge equipped with an internal light so you don't have to turn on another light to see if you're out of beer at 2am.
-Great glass-walled shower with a sweet Kohler shower head and gobs of hot water
-Bliss soaps/shampoos, which always smell nice.
They do sell some food items and drinks in the lobby if you're really hungry but not wishing to leave the place for a meal. Yeah, these are stupid expensive. Bring your own snacks if you can. No restaurant on premises.
The not so good stuff:
-we drove, so we had to park our car somewhere. $20 to park in the adjoining parking garage/$26 for parking right next to the building is JUST PLAIN GOUGING. Period. I knew this ahead of time, but still pathetic. Starwood Hotels is taking advantage of those in the traveling public who need a car to conduct business nearby. If you can live with riding the free shuttle bus they do provide, do so (we never did, though). Problem is, this hotel is located at least 2 blocks away from any other business. I don't have any problem walking that far and more, but, really, there's a high need for a car when staying here.
-some signs of wear and tear within the building: what appeared to be a large coffee stain (at least 9" dia.) on the carpet right as we entered our room. So evident and apparent that we stepped around it when we entered. It was dry. Also some small scuff marks where the desk chair had rubbed against the wallpaper in the room. There were also scuff marks along the walls within the hallways--apparently from the housekeeping staff carts.
Those two quibbles aside, the place was great. It was reasonably quiet (remember you're right next to ORD) and clean (save for issues above) and the staff seemed friendly and professional. Our bill was exactly as expected (including the ridiculous parking). But from design standpoint, I wish all other hotel chains would head in this direction. -

Chicago, IL
On our first ever trip to Chicago, prior to moving here, we stayed at Aloft for the weekend to check out different potential neighborhoods to live in. This hotel is so neat, modern and comfortable. The rooms are minimalistic and cool, the bed was ridiculously comfortable (I had a really bad cold but slept through the night without NyQuil!), and the complimentary Bliss Spa products are a super nice touch. Oh, and having both tea and coffee in the rooms...that tea was a life saver for sick-at-the-time me.
The only thing that really doesn't work for me is how out of the way the hotel is from the city. Sure, it's convenient to the airport, and they will shuttle you to the Rosemont Blue Line stop, but this is a hotel that need to be IN Chicago, proper.
I doubt the rates would be as amazing, though, considering rates I saw at places that were downtown. It's just a shame, because this is such a neat place, and I feel like the location will cause people to blow it off. -

Dallas, TX
This modern and fun hotel is conveniently located close to the airport. The entire hotel is warm and cozy, and the free shuttle service is the icing on the cake. The beds are exceptionally soft, and the room is inviting and well furnished. I stayed on the first floor and the noise level was minimal. The big flat-screen plasma hanging on the wall was a nice touch. Everything was clean, neat and ready to accommodate.
The only thing I wished were different was the distance from the hotel to downtown Chicago. Although the same airport shuttle dropped us off at the Blue Line station (2 minutes away), it was a good 25 minutes one-way to get downtown. As a first timer to Chicago, it might have been a better idea to book a hotel closer. However, if convenience and value is more important, you can't go wrong with Aloft! -

So my bf & I live in the city, but wanted a nearby getaway, due to a long two weeks we'd both had. I decided since we go to Muvico (located next door) all the time anyway and would probably go this past weekend, why not book the hotel conveniently next door. Well we couldn't have been more pleased, we got a movie package deal, got the room and 2 movie passes for Muvico. What a pleasant stay, definitely will be doing this again! Who knew, what a great getaway this would be soo close to home!

Cool hotel if you need to stay out in Rosemont near ORD. I was attending an event hosted here so it made sense to stay. Hip decor everywhere, nice lobby bar, youthful music piped in. The rooms were very nice with large comfortable beds, big flat-screens on the wall, etc. Bathroom area was a bit tight and if you're sharing a room with someone you're not intimately familiar with you might find the frosted glass (exposed to the bedroom area) shower a bit off-putting. :)
Beware of the parking fees in the attached/shared parking deck. Pretty pricey and if you're even one minute over 24 hours you'll be charged for ANOTHER ENTIRE DAY! -

Hampton Bays, NY
This was my first stay at Aloft Hotel and I was pleasantly surprised. I was only here for one night for a business trip, but hope to come back again.
The decor is very modern and fresh. It has a nice young but professional vibe. The free WIFI is a HUGE plus!! It always amazes me when you stay at a hotel that charges your for WIFI. I mean, come on ~ we can get free wifi at Starbucks for a cup of coffee but can't get it at a hotel? Congrats to Aloft for offering this amenity!! I didn't get a chance to use the pool or lounge area, but from afar it looks very clean, streamlined, and modern.
The rooms are laid out brilliantly! The high ceilings tricks you into thinking the room is larger. The built in tables by each window are useful and well designed. I LOVED the bathroom. Very modern with a bowl sink and glass shower with a frosted window that lets in a nice natural glow. The best part about the bathroom are the BLISS spa products!! Yeah! Finally a hotel gets some quality toiletries. ;) The smell is amazing but the best how moisturized your skin feels after the body wash and lotion. What a nice touch.
The only serious downfall about this hotel is it's location. The entrance and parking is VERY confusing. You have to do a complete U-Turn after checking in to get to the parking garage. This might be because the area is under construction because a Muvico is being built next door with other unmarked pre construction sites. When this is complete, I believe the location will look much more attractive. -

Chicago, IL
I stayed at the aLoft for the first time last month (May 2011). Our stay was only for 3 days and 2 nights, but I'll review the basics. Also, we were only in the hotel during the night and early morning, we spent our days outside the hotel for the most part.
Cons:
1. One amazing pro about this hotel that others don't have is FREE-WIFI. I was able to bring my laptop and connecting was not an issue. I know many places charge up to $15 bucks for an hour or two, so having free wifi all day-everyday was really cool.
2. The room comes with a free mini-fridge, it is empty, so you can use it your heart's desire and not worry about getting charged for even touching the thing.
3. The room comes with complimentary Bliss Spa products. Any beauty lover would like this a lot! These products are really nice, and they provide shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and lotion.
4. One thing this room has was enough towels to get us by. The other two hotels I've visited in the same area only provided one large towel, and two small ones (pretty much making you ask for more later on). The aLoft provided 2 large towels, 2 small towels, and 3 additional medium-sized towels outside the bathroom.
5. Extra things in the room: board & iron, hair-dryer, extra large pillow (near closet area) and complimentary coffee/tea/water bottle.
6. The room does have a huge LCD TV, and lots of channels to choose from.
7. Bed was really comfy, or maybe I was really tired!
8. The room is small, but it is also comfy and homey. I like that the bedroom is separated from the bathroom and closet area, making it more peaceful to rest without distractions or feeling in a packed area.
9. Free hangers, pretty decent closet area, a safe, and extra space to put your stuff in.
10. Two desks facing the windows, one looks for business, while the other is more casual, and we used it to eat. The desk also comes with a phone, lamp, pencils, notepad, and other info.
11. On each side of the bed, there are small night-tables, with additional outlets and small lights. Each person can control their own lights, so even if you want to sleep, the person next to you will have a faint non-disturbing light over their heads.
12. Pretty nice gym and pool. There is also a lounge area outside where you can lay down on the grass or outside chairs.
13. They have a bar, I was under 21 when i visited so I wasn't interested. They also have a cool lounge, 24 food shop, and they also have trendy music in the lobby. They have a sweet pool table, and you can also request board games and play them in the area.
Cons:
1. This hotel doesn't offer free breakfast, priced breakfast, and to be honest, I'm not sure if they offer room service. I'm guessing they wanted to break tradition and have the open/24 hour food shop in the lobby. They do have a lot of take-out menus in the front desk (we found a pretty cheap place to order food from) so you do have close options when it comes to food. However, I can understand why some people would hate that there is no room service.
2. The rooms are not exactly huge, I would say the limit to the rooms would be 2-3 people. I stayed with another person, so for two people, it was perfect. Anymore than 3, maybe that would be a problem. There is enough room to move around for two people, but I can imagine it could be considered "small" for larger groups.
3. The bathrooms are nice, but odd at the same time. There is basically no "door" or official lock, so please stay alone or with someone you're comfortable with. If you're sharing a room with more people, the bathroom area can be a bit uncomfortable because the door is a sliding door that doesn't really close. It leaves a small opening, and easy to "peek" in and see the person showering or using the toilet. Also, the shower walls/doors are pretty much invisible, so you can see the person in the shower and even from the room (please Youtube aLoft rooms and pictures to see what I mean). From the room, you may not be able to see the person too clearly, but you could see their silhouette and much more.
Overall, I would stay in this place again and recommend it to my friends. I go to an event nearby annually, so I'm booking my room for next year as well! -
Review from Denise P.
Laurel, MD
I've stayed at an Aloft before. It's a nice hotel...not your standard issue Marriott, so if that's what you're looking for then...go to a Marriott. Decor is "hip", they play loud music, and you can hear everything that goes on in the bathroom, so if you're traveling with someone you arent particularly close to, get ready for some intimate moments. lol The hotel is expensive (I think for what you get), but I guess that's normal by Chicago standards. Parking isn't free, either. I actually love this hotel chain, so I had no complaints about the room.
So why 3 stars? Because my boyfriend and I stayed here the weekend of July 4th and he has yet to get his money back from the deposit they put on his card for "incidentals." We didn't do anything to the room, and the money (which I believe was $200..I think) was supposed to be back on his card within 7-10 business days. I thought that was a long time, but we didn't think anything of it. Now here we are a month a half later....no deposit. We didn't even pay $200 a night for this room, so why it's so high, I don't know. Maybe that's just how Chicago is. In any case, we won't be staying here again. -

Good value for the money, although the consensus seems to be not very good value if you need to park. My flight came in very late and Aloft let me have a very late check-out which I appreciated.

Review from Marc T.
Alameda, CA
Before anything else, this hotel has the most important quality an airport hotel must have. Reliable transportation to and from the airport. Espcially one as large as O'Hare, where the mass confusion that is the transportation center necessitates you going outside to ensure the van doesn't come and go without you. And when it's mid-February, you want to minimize the time you spend outside. That being said, the vans actually arrive at the times the front desk tells you they'll arrive. Big deal when you've got limited time before your fligh the next day.
The hip decor is refreshing; a welcome change from the usual boring airport hotel. The room is a little cramped and there is hardly any room to hang up more than a few items. And even then they are hung close together, so getting them out of the rack is a challenge. One thing I noticed is the lack of space to place your suitcase. I had to lay mine out on the desk.
The big downside to this property is the lack of food options within walking distance. I found myself ordering delivery because you had to rely on the hotel van to take you places if you didn't have a car.
If it weren't for the extraordinary corporate rate I got, I probably woudn't pay the prices they charge regular guests to stay here. For me, the marginal difference between the rate I was paying and the rate charged by chains several rungs down was worth it in terms of comfort and reliability of transportation. -

Looking for a different kind of hotel with a new twist on a stay...check this place out.
What a fun lobby with computerized check in, a pool table, a little "coffee bar" and a hip lounge like overall feel. The rooms are simple and easy going. Comfy bed and great shower! Truly enjoyed my stay here! -
Review from Amy G.
Met a friend from out-of-town for drinks at the beautiful, well-stocked 'n back-lit bar and enjoyed several wicked-strong beverages from the outstandingly lovely, funny, and interesting bartender. The bar area is situated close to reception and bounded by a lounge that looks over at a serene, gorgeous pool. Filled with board games, cards, plush seating, and a few small, giggling groups, the lounge ended up being a great place to catch up.
Rooms are relatively spacious and well-appointed with a nicely equipped work area (including the aforementioned "magic box" for media), Bliss bath products (you have no idea how badly I wanted to swipe those), massive glass-doored shower, and spacious bed. Everything appeared clean and tidy although the soft mattress cover and mushy pillow left something to be desired for this sleeping beauty.
So, most of all? The staff are outstanding. As other Yelpers have mentioned, there always appears to be a staff member available. This was especially evident when, after a few too many Scotch and sodas, I harebrainedly (or drunkenly-- take it as you will) left my wallet in the lounge area. Frantically, several hours later, I realized this and booted up my smartphone, praising the wonders of online banking. Seeing as my accounts hadn't been touched, I meandered down to the front desk to find my wallet at the check-in desk undisturbed. For this alone, Aloft gets five stars.
Anyhow, cute, clean, newer, modern airport hotel. Definitely a great value. Highly, highly recommended for those attending any shows at the convention center or catching a flight out of O'Hare. -

llove the hotel my husband and I stay here often! However the customer service if you call up is awful! I tried to ask a simple question and the women spoke down to me like i was a 5 year old! Wish i would have gotten her name again and spoken to a manager.

Hippest airport hotel in the USA! W brand has hit another grand slam home run. The property looks new but is 3 years old, the front desk staff is very professional, but personable. Airport shuttle drive is awesome! this property has a pool and a very chic tasteful club like lobby with the right balance of lighting and high energy music, pool tables also. I will be back here when I visit Chicago again. Rooms are A Loft excellent Great rate makes it a can't miss!

Come for the great rates, stay for the chill-out pool and great bartenders.
I'm a very loyal SPG member, so if there's a Starwood hotel anywhere in the vicinity of where I'm going, that will be where I stay. With that in mind, I have to recommend the aloft over the other Starwood hotels at ORD because it's simply cheap and cheerful. If you don't need to be downtown, and are just passing through - stay here. The rooms are comfortable for quick "just passing through" visits, although I wouldn't stay a week (NB: for any SPG snobs...you won't get a Gold or Platinum room upgrade - everyone gets the same kind of room).
The staff are what I really liked about the place. With the exception of one surly guy working the desk during one of my 2am checkins, everyone is super-friendly, willing to give you (free) toothpaste/shaving cream/etc if TSA has taken yours, help out, and just make you feel welcome. The bartenders working the xyz are also great - if you want cursory "I'm grumpy and just want a drink" service, you got it...if you're looking to discuss and chat and hang, they're up for that too - and have a good sense of which mood you're in.
All of this at (usually around) $69/night with free WiFi and steady reliable shuttles? Sold! -
Review from Lindsey D.
Hoffman Estates, IL
If you are looking for a last minute and cheap place to stay if attending an event at the Donald Stephen's Con Center, this is the hotel.
this place is pretty classy for the price and compared to the hotels in the area, it is a bargain. It is a 10 minute walk to the Con Center or you can use the free shuttle ( though that may take longer if you are staying during a popular convention)
The small couch type thing under the TV is big enough to use as a makeshift bed if you need to which is a plus. The elevators are black lit and the hotel as a whole has a fresh look.
Only issues are concerning the sorta creepy bathrooms that have a non locking sliding door and a strange frosted glass window by the shower.
So if you need somewhere to go for the many cons that take place and don't have the dime to stay at the surrounding hotels, this is a great last minute resort that doesn't involve much travel. -

Close to the convention center in Rosemont, so it's convenient. I like that they have a shuttle that is on prompt and on time. If you're into the modern look, this hotel will drive you up the walls. The room's bathroom is fairly large.
Downstairs, they have a pool table and a decent bar for a hotel.
Only peeve with this place -- I get lost trying to find the elevators because of it's modern set up. -

First of all and most importantly, the context of my review. Of the three days and two nights the room was booked for, I've only spent 12 hours here; drag my corpse late in the night, shower, sleep, wake up in 5 hours and get out. This was all for a convention that was being held at the Donald E Stephens Convention Center. However, do not let the fact that I only spent a fraction of my booked time on the property disuade you from this review.
---
Location: [Big Minus (--)]
That being said, let me tell you, walking the distance from convention center through the maze of walkways will feel a rough two mile trek most of which not stating that you're heading towards this hotel. The path between hotel and convention center requires you to go through garages and hotels.
Now the faster path it takes you to walk through the streets is about half the distance and half the time but doesn't feel that great especially at night. There are parts where you have to literally walk through the streets since there is no sidewalks to traverse on. As bad as it may sound, it's not all that bad with so little vehicle traffic making its way around this hotel. This route requires you to walk through a well lit garage and down the street of two other hotels.
That aside, it feels like it's out of place with not much shops around to service this with it being virtually surrounded by parking lots in two directions, the highway to another, and a vacant lot in the next. To some, this maybe a selling factor as you'll feel separated from it all. In this, I can see a couple actually enjoying a stay here where they can have fun in more ways than it would be safe to state here. But for me, it's not.

Decor: [Neutral (+/-)]
I can't really subtract that much from the decor as that even though it doesn't really suit my taste, I could see that a younger crowd or someone more with "it" would really enjoy this place.

Anemities - Room: [Plus (++)]
The fact that there's a "magic box" is what had sold me to this location. Being a gadget head, I would've been able to enjoy watching movies on the big screen hooking up my laptop through the HDMI, or a game of Rock Band through a console that had the ports easily available. The magic box would've even allowed for the PS2/Wii to be hooked up and taken down without much effort. But alas, I didn't have much free time to utilize such.
The shower was very relaxing albeit initially confusing to have to go through instant super cold to get to the relaxing hot to the almost scolding hot. However, it doesn't help that the door doesn't form a seal where the water would leak out and into the floor. So if you're going to leave any articles of clothing on the floor in front of the shower, please pick it up! Now the fact that, while you're in the bedroom, you can see the silhouette of the person showering can be off putting if you're not intimate with the roomie. Fortunate for me, I had no one to glance at my silhoutte except maybe someone in the garage on level with my room. Glad I didn't figure that out while I was there or I would've felt dirty.
On that note, it's easy to perve at someone anyone on the garages that surround this hotel.
The room felt comfortable and "intimate". The bed felt pretty big and wasn't as stiff as some hotels nor was it as soft as I would've prefered it.
The tv seem standard fare offering no adult entertainment. Initially, the TV display didn't work but after turning it off and on, the display worked.
The layout of the room felt rather refreshing and better than a lot of hotels I've stayed at. It made sense and gave it an open comforting feeling rather than cramped and cornered off.
Oh, and hey, one free bottle of water! Too bad it was just one free bottle of water but nevertheless, appreciated!
Overall, the room was pretty good in the fact that it was well planned and layed out.

Anemities - Gym: [Plus (+)]
The gym looked well maintained based on my experience. It was well stocked, nicely lit but felt the layout could be better with the elipticals facing the walls. Wish the water foutain was installed in the gym especially since the adjoining wall had a water fountain.
The gym is pretty much equipped with the same kind of machines you'd expect from any hotel, so can't really give or take off of that. The key part of the positive reaction to this is that it's well maintained.

If your goal is similar to mine and thought that saving 10 dollars a day would be worth it to stay at a hotel across the street from the convention center, it is NOT.
If you're staying for the hotel, it will be worth it, but park else where (CTA Kiss & Ride by Blue Line). -

Great shuttle service from OHare and to El Train station. Friendly staff. Clean and modern rooms. love the bliss products they use. Indoor pool which works because during my stay here it was hot and rainy. Booked at a great rate and if ever in Chicago again would definitely come again.

I have never seen or stayed in any hotel this "chick." The atmosphere is very fun, you will feel it as soon as you walk through these doors! I now live in chicago, and I wouldn't mind going back here for a night just to sleep in the super comfy platform beds! Also got a great deal in priceline. Highly advise checking that out. Only reason I am not giving five stars is that the parking is fairly expensive, even If you arrive at midnight and will only be there until the early morning.

I used my SPG points for a free night and found the aloft ohare to be a great little spot. Very clean, hip, modern feel to the hotel. Looks and Feels brand new from the moment you step into the lobby. Free shuttle to airport and nearby places which was nice. Free wifi. I didnt hear any airport noise and had no issues with the room. Beds were comfortable but you only get 2 pillows on a queen size bed. 2 free bottles of water in the room as well as the standard coffee maker. Room also had a mini fridge which I didnt use but could certainly come in handy.

Stayed here 1 night for work and have no complaints, great location near Airport. they have a shuttle thats essentially a free taxi to neighboring hotels/resturants as well as the train station and airport.
This place has a hip/modern/edgy design to it that certainly stands out.
Room was nice, very clean, bathroom was fine, large flatscreeen lcd. Free bottle of water was nice.
Ok looking bar, no resturant on site but with great options and shuttle nearby thats really not a problem.
They have a pool and a small workout room with 2 treadmills, some dumbells and a couple other exercise machines.
For the price/convinience it was great. would reccomend. -

I went here for a one-night stand. And by one-night stand, i mean with my besties before a next-day 7 am flight, and we giggled, took ambiens, and were in bed by 10.
That kind of one-night stand.
Perfect hotel if you wanna be near the airport. Cute, efficient, and clean.
And they have a bar in the lobby that the suburbanites go to for fun. I like cute, suburban guys!!!! -

The Good: I liked the aloft at Chicago O'Hare. It's a great place to stay when travelling with a dog(s)- upon request, they'll bring a water dish, bed and treats to your room. The facility is modern and clean, but if you're looking for a room with a view, this isn't the place to stay.
The Not-So Good: The hotel staff made me fell like I was staying at the "aloof" hotel. They were somewhat unresponsive and rude, but the check-in/check-out kiosks allow one to almost completely avoid the staff if needed (or desired).
Tip: The hotel charges almost $20 a night for parking (and even more for valet), however, if you park in the self-park ramp and pay at the station in the ramp, it's only $13 a night. -

Two words: TATER TOTS. That's what makes this hotel special. When you can check in to a functional, quasi-hip room within two minutes using the lobby kiosk (and change your room and pick your SPG Platinum amenity at the same time), then be downstairs with your laptop, a drink, and tater tots in half an hour, that's a great thing.
The "living room" concept worked well the night I was there, with a bunch of guys watching Monday Night Football, a couple others shooting pool, and a giggly group of white-haired matronly types lolling over the couches. It's nice for business travelers not to have to go off site to a bar or restaurant to get that convivial feeling of being around others having a good time.
Also, the shuttle service made it a great deal for us -- a free ride from the airport, and a free ride to our meetings the next morning. Still, we certainly didn't get the $60 rates other people have mentioned; we paid about $120 for the night.
The only other slight fail of my stay was the moment I went to wash my face with the Bliss brand face wash...and found that it was all used up by the previous guest. Ick. I mean, I know other people use the room, but I don't like to be reminded of that so blatantly. -
Review from April P.
Psychadelic, rad, gnarly. UGH. This all describes this hotel, from the lobby to the rooms. And let me say, that it is not up to par. I know the W is trying to have a spin off a cool, hip hotel, but it's not working for A-Loft. The rooms don't make you feel comfy, cozy...you feel like you were sent back in a time machine to hang out with Austin Powers. The colors were mind boggling and didn't have a serene effect with a relaxing stay
The layout of the room was pretty weird, I didn't really dig how the bathroom was behind the head of the bed. You can hear every drip drip of the faucet and the toilet flush LOUDLY, too. The sheets weren't clean either, seemed like someone had run a black pen through them and the maids didn't care to bleach or use other ones.
The lobby did have a lot of activities, but it was all too much. Complete overkill.
I wouldn't recommend at all staying here. -

Ok so I might not have *technically* been staying here.. fill in the blank on your own..
but this is one nice hotel. I love the look and feel of the place, very chic and fun. The beddding was great as well! Very comfortable and relaxing.
Free shuttle to the airport in the AM was great, the staff was very nice and directed me towards the driver who was able to help me navigate getting to the trains to take me downtown.
