Review from Mr B.
Salem, OR
I had to wait 10 Minutes for a waitress to take my order. When I tried to ask if someone was working my table she barked "We are very busy wait." Then stormed off. She did take my order after another 5 minutes. Got my food in a reasonable time. Despite the rude waitress the food was OK and may give them another chance.

"Reminiscent of truck stops in the 60's"
Took she who must be obeyed here for her Mother's day lunch. The name and the appearance of the building suggest exactly what you'll find inside. All was as anticipated. Clean wholesome atmosphere, well groomed and courteous waitpersons and hearty American fare. It's the kind of place your Mom and Dad took you to when you were a child. Sometimes "nothing out of the ordinary" suites me just fine. -

I was pointed to Almost Home by the front desk clerk. A family run coffee shop with a large menu of American favorites I had a steak dinner and my sons has a mushroom burger and cheese burger.
My steak was well made, but a little tough, I must remind myself not to order steaks at coffee shops, Both my sons liked their burgers.
They have beer and wine. -
Review from Bill N.
Table was sticky. Coffee was really weak and we had to wait a long time before they would bring Meg cream. I had biscuits and gravy with some hard biscuits. The only reason I didn't give this place 1 star is because the big sausage patty in the middle of the biscuits and gravy was pretty good. hashbrowns look like they were the frozen kind. I am not sure if this place is a chain or not. The menus llooks like it but the John Wayne decorations made me think it is not a franchise.

Review from Kyle R.
Salem, OR
After we left, we made the typical jokes, "are we almost home yet?" pretending that we were gonna go number 2 after we left there...but alas...we were alright. The place is dim and a good ol' fashioned diner. The food was worse than Dennys, which may tell you something about the food. Try Sharis instead...but if you want to be transported back to 1965, travel here...to Market and Hawthorne.

Open late on a Sunday. Saved my life. But. You know a bite of meat that gets bigger in your mouth the longer you chew it...? Ya. Rather spendy i thought for what you get but it may be normal for Salem. Nothing special but not fast food so ...

On our way out of OR back to CA, we stopped by this place. An all-American diner complete w John Wayne wall of tribute, and a life size cutout. Friendly service as expected, hearty portion. We are vegetarian so our breakfast options are limited- omlettes and more eggs. Both are a tad dry, like my own cooking. They really didn't need to slap on a slice of Kraft cheese on top. Pancakes, or flapjacks, are decent. Good acoustic, quiet even its full. Unlimited coffee. Parking lot at front. Mom likes the name!
