Went in to get Botox and Juvederm. I was told I did not need Juvederm - so honest even though they didn't make the money from it.
I got Botox. 5 days later my wrinkles were gone and my eyebrows lifted. For me, a good Botox injection lifts my brows, not so for everybody. It is something I specifically ask for and I got it.
This place was great. Everybody was super nice. Definitely going to return. -

I want to start off by saying that I havn't had a chance to actually try any of their treatments but let me tell you why.
I recently purchased a deal on a website for one IPL treatment for $150. Whenever I buy these deals I usually read the fine print pretty carefully to make sure its safe and that there are no disclaimers or other information I need to know about the procedure. I didn't find anything of the sort, only how this treatment was supposed to do wonders for brown spots and discoloration. So, thinking that it was a good option for me and that it was a good deal, I bought it and made an appointment over the phone.
When I went, there I was told that I was there for a consultation only! I spoke to the nurse about my skin during this consultation and was told that I was not an ideal candidate for the IPL and that she recommended the peel instead. Fine. I appreciated her feedback.
But then she told me that I would need three weeks of "pretreatment" with a pharmaceutical grade hydroquinone agent before she could do either treatment, which they just happened to sell. I was pretty annoyed at this point, because I had gone in there thinking I had an appointment for a treatment. Then, I asked whether I could just buy a regular facial since I was there. And they told me that they didn't have any available slots for that day.
So, why wasn't I told over the phone that this was a consultation only and that if I wanted either the peel or the IPL I would need to be "pretreated" for three weeks? I was also told that mostly the good candidates are older caucasian women who have had a lot of sun exposure. So if IPL is only for certain skin types, why isn't this disclaimer on the deal? I wouldn't have bothered buying it!Comment from Brenda B. of Almaden Valley Aesthetics 5/18/2011

Had photofacial done for hyperpigmentation on my face with GREAT results. You can also get a massage, facial, botox and restylane injections. Have recommended AVA to my friends and co-workers, who are very happy with the services provided. I've also taken my mom there. Brenda is so sweet and attentive, the receptionist is very professional. The salon is run by a certified plastic surgeon, not a chiropractor like some salons. They have registered nurses certified in administering botox and restylane. Give them a try. I'm now having my upper lip lasered to remove a little hair, no more waxing!!!

I'm an ER nurse who worked with Brenda Blay (as a nurse )and I heard good reviews about her spa she had opened so I decided to give it a try. I was impressed with her clinical skills in the ER and anticipated her business to be the same, which it very much is. I have a fair amt of skin damage after living in Hawaii for several years and had a series of chemical peels while there, but it was the quick 15 min get-in-get-out MD office. I started seeing Megan a few years ago for chemical peels & eyebrow waxes @ AVA and she was outstanding,. At AVA, you get the comforting room, a neck, shoulder, and foot massage along with it and it's well worth my drive from north bay just to go there. Who would have thought a chemical peel would be so relaxing ?? I recently had the V-I peel from her sister, Belinda, (who I see now as Megan moved out of state) and am still just as impressed. They are very upfront and honest about what to expect before & after your procedure(s) and are honest about what procedures are best for the results you seek.
