Review from Dylan O.
Sausalito, CA
Don Felton, the owner of Almac Camera, has a wonderful eye for photographing fine art. Many major downtown galleries and alternative art spaces rely on Don to document their inventory. He's served local artists and the arts community for many years, and we love what he has done for us. He does very high quality digital work--but can still take top-notch slide and large-format transparencies for you and develop them with a fast turn-around.
He's documented my artwork since 1994, and I still rely on him. Thank you Don and Nancy at Almac Camera. -

Seriously. They are the best.

This is one of those hidden gems that someone tells you about. It's a small two-person operation: Don takes the photos and Nancy manages the rest, and they do a great job. Don is fast and takes a great picture; when we need professional shots of artwork, this is where we come. Best of all his prices are very reasonable, and he'll give you a selection of shots of each piece.

Teeny tiny spot. Not for those people looking to buy cameras or for those looking to get fancy pictures taken of themselves all done up, but for those needing to get transparencies duplicated or objects photographed. Nice staff.

The best place to get your art photographed, period. Almac Camera is kind of a misleading name, it isn't a camera store, and despite the kodak sign on the wall, they probably don't even sell film. They do, however, do a great job of documenting art. I've used their services for my own work, and for my gallery, and have never been disapointed. The best thing is they work fast. No 3 hours while someone unrolls seamless backing and monkeys around with the lights.

Quick and professional! Plus, Don's always offering tips to make the images even better in Photoshop. Great people and I highly recommend their services.

I was looking to buy some 120 film, and though they didn't carry it, the salesgirl gave me the name and phone numbers of 2 other stores to try, and ended the phone call with a cheery "good luck!" It was really nice.

i've had nothing but awesome experiences here; don and nancy are both really helpful and cool people and i don't know why this place doesn't have more reviews. they care about your work and getting it pictured the best way possible. i've had some prints done from images i had taken and they are so gorgeous and full of detail. the turnaround for digital is immediate and you walk out with your files in hand. he also keeps your stuff on his harddrive so it's backed up in case you lose your flashdrive or disk! i know i'll keep coming here to have my work documented.
