OHNOs aside, this is great food.  I have only been here for breakfast, but the food is all homemade from scratch (minus the corned beef hash apparently) and very tasty without being greasy.  It is a heavy breakfast however.  Potato pancakes are great, as is the omelette and the spicy sauce, muffins and almost everything else.  The only disappointing thing I've had was the Eggs Benedict.  Otherwise, I have not gone wrong.  Prices are rock bottom for quality and quantity.  If you are frustrated by the lack of good breakfast spots in South Florida, this one is worth a stop.

This is a true mom-and-pop, a smidge of patience is necessary at times when processing requests that may not seem that odd to you.

My first and only experience at Ally's started off good and ended very poorly, so it will be my last experience as well.  My friends at work who frequent Ally's had nothing but good things to say about the diner, so I accompanied four of my friends for lunch there the other day.  I ordered the gyro sandwich, which was very good with the exception of the undersized pita which could not wrap around the sandwich, making a knife and fork necessary but it was very good.  One of my friends ordered a medium-well hamburger.   It looked a little more like medium-rare when he bit into it, but he was okay with that.  When he was about half way done with the burger, he discovered that the center was raw, not rare, but cold, raw chopped meat.  He called the waitress over who said she would put his burger back on the grill.  When he stated that he wanted a new burger, the waitress looked distressed, took the burger away, and sent the manager over to confront my friend.  The manger stated that my friend already ate half the burger and then attempted to coerce him into settling for the reheating of his half-eaten burger.  She stated that it would take at least 15 minutes to cook a new burger (not true), while heating his half-eaten burger would only take a few minutes, but that the decision was his.  This was a poor ploy to avoid doing the right thing.  My friend was disgusted with the whole ordeal, so he told the manager to forget it and not to bring him anything.  When he asked the manager to take the burger off the bill, you can see she was disturbed by this notion, so reluctantly, she took it off the bill.  Too bad the manager was more interested in saving the next-to-nothing cost of giving the customer a new burger than being concerned about satisfying the customer and maintaining good-will.  All five of us will not be returning to Ally's.

I almost did not find this place. My gps could not find the address. The yelp map was off by about half a mile.
I decided that I would abandon the mission and stop at a near by Publix and get a few items. When I was at the checkout I asked the cashier if she knew where Ally's was and she pointed me in the right direction.
Ally's is in a strip mall and has the look of a typical strip mall restaurant. This is not necessarily a bad thing. The template seems to work well for Chinese restaurants and pizza joints.
When I walked in all the booths were occupied, I was told to sit anywhere. My choices were one of the tables in the middle row or one of the stools at the counter. I grabbed a table because the counter looked more like a work station for the wait staff than an inviting place to eat.
It became apparent very quickly that the staff here love's their regulars. A couple who came in behind me were greeted by name and had menus and their drink order placed before i received ant attention other than "sit anywhere". I get it, locals rule. I see this all the time in my travels and it doesn't bother me anymore. I did receive service pretty quick though. The menu was very much diner food and the prices are just about right.
Biscuits and gravy were absent ( in my opinion a diner staple ) from the menu and are only available occasionally. I ordered the farmers omelette no sides. They are proud of their grits and insisted I get them but I passed. The farmers omelette is probably my favorite omelette. I have ordered it all over the country. It typically comes smothered in gravy, not today. It also usually has cheddar cheese, again not today. Today the cheese appears to be Kraft singles. Okay, I like Kraft a little bit.  The lack of gravy was also a let down.
The omelette was pretty food and it was a good size portion.
While I was waiting on my order I saw the orders coming out of the kitchen on their way to the tables and everything looked good. I did not have to wait long as my order came out pretty quickly.
Overall my meal was good and the service was good. I do not know if I would come back the next time I am down here. I might or I might not. I like to try new places. I don't think I will ever become a regular at any place.

Family owned place with very friendly staff. I've been here twice and both times I left pleased. I did find then portions to be fairly small but everything was fresh for the most part. They do seem to be trying and wanting to improve. I found Ally's mother to be a lot friendlier than Ally herself! This place is in a strip mall next to Publix on the corner of 84 and 136 right off of i595.

I had a lot of trouble finding this place as my iphone map didn't seem to be clear enough with the directions but it was worth the trouble. I so wish there was a breakfast spot like this in Miami. Everything was homemade and fresh. Their banana pancakes are probably some of the best pancakes I have ever had. The rest of the breakfast food was great including the eggs, potatoes, and their special cheesy scramble with caramelized onions. Breakfast was cheap, fast, and service was friendly.

I have both good and bad things to say about Ally's.  The servers and Judy are very nice, except the bald guy, he does not take criticism well.  At Ally's you will definitely find the best pancakes around, the problem is, they are so stingy with their icing.  On several occasions we have asked for a side of icing and, although we have been willing to pay for it, have been told no.  Poor excuses are made as to why we cannot have more. From "oh I don't want to throw Ally off in the kitchen, by asking for just icing", to "oh dear, I'm sorry but there is no more".  On another occasion I asked to have my breakfast eggs with homemade chips (which were on the menu for lunch), instead of the breakfast potatoes (which I do not like at all) I was told they couldn't substitute the potatoes, so I asked for a side of homemade chips and was told no! No explanation, just NO! Their potato pancakes are usually delicious, but on my last two visits, they were definitely not crunchy, as they usually are, and they also had way too much black pepper. These are used in  the Ally's benedict, which are topped with a hit or miss sauce. I find there to be some inconsistancies in Ally's kitchen. I wonder if, because they are a small cafe, only so much is made and that is why they cannot fill extra orders. When I eat out I appreciate it if my requests are fulfilled. I'm willing to pay, it's not like I'm asking for these things for free.  As far as Ally, she's definitely not the friendliest, but hey she's there to cook.  Judy, her mom is there to be nice, and she is. So, go to Ally's for delicious pancakes, just don't ask for extra icing, or extra anything, even if you're willing to pay.

Really enjoyed our breakfast there today.  The greetings by the waitress, and Ally's mom were great.  We felt so welcome.  The place is fairly new and it's very "comforting" for sure.  It's a family biz and they are really trying so hard to make it work.  We really like to give our biz to local independent business owners and not the "chains".  We really hope they make it.
I had a great egg white omelette and they use fresh ingredients, no canned stuff.  Good bagel and home fries. Mom gave me a sample of the grits, yum.   Hub had the eggs benedict, which he enjoyed.  Brought the son home french toast which he loved. Hub decided what he's having next time he goes back.
The place is open for breakfast and lunch every day and open on Friday nights for dinner.  Would like to try that.
The place is a "diner" not really a dive, but it's very casual atmosphere.   The service was great, Ally came over to say hi, we were asking lots of questions, can't help it, I'm nosy.
All the ingredients are fresh and home made.  Give them a chance.  Spread the word.

Just FYI I have not been back but am perfectly willing to try it again someday as it did seem like a cute, charming place. Valentine's Day is busy with a capital B and sometimes things just don't go as right as you want them to ...

Good breakfast option.  Grilled muffins and potato pancakes are great.  You can definitely taste the not so light butter added but the flavor is good.  Great and friendly service too.

hands down - best breakfast place in the broward county area. everything tastes homemade and calorie ridden. the potato pancakes are absolutely sinful and make sure to ask for your muffin grilled with a little butter (sounds crazy but you may never be able to eat a muffin ungrilled again)
