Review from Shanon I.
Los Angeles, CA
I've been taking classes at Allure for 4 months and I love ALL the instructors there.
Kat is my favorite for Pole (love Beverly also). She's challenging and fun -- and able to articulate how to get in and out of moves in a way that is easy to understand. Plus she's always working on new moves herself. She also emphasizes deep stretching in both her ballet and pole classes, which is great for those of us (ehem) that are not as flexible.
Oh, and she has the best taste in music. If you are into 90's retro sexy, Prince, trip-hop and erotic electronica, you'll definitely want to get down in one of her classes.
Nicole (the owner) has a badass (pun intended) Erotic Dance class on Tuesday night which is always booked but really, really fun if you get a slot (book way ahead, ladies). You learn how to move your ass-ets in all kinds of new ways. Nicole is a very talented instructor who uses her humor to get the ladies to relax enough to let their inner-freak out to play. Can't wait until I'm strong enough to take one of her more advanced classes. -

Los Angeles, CA
just took the 'intro to pole' class earlier this afternoon at allure. my first ever pole class. started with stretches, floor exercises, basically getting people loose which is what i expected to start with. after watching pole videos on youtube, i already knew i had to have some sort of flexibility in order to look graceful on a metal pole. nicole reiterated that it's not gonna look as graceful and sexy right now. it's our first class ever. she made it a point that it's something we practice and keep up with.
i was sweating by the end of that hour-long class. i can only wish it lasted longer. when you sign up for the class (and you can sign up on-line), they send you an e-mail telling you some info - where to park, what to bring, etc. being that it was my first class, i tried going barefoot. i didn't want to risk possibly doing a move wrong, falling and breaking my ankle cuz i'm wearing some tall ass heels. guess what, i should've worn the damn tall ass heels! you have to constantly tip-toe and the balls of my feet started getting wood-burned 2/3 of the way into the class. and heels makes you stick your butt out, which helps the sexy factor. they have shelves in the back of the studio for your stuff with some room to change in. if you want to be more private, the bathroom's there too, but you're already taking a class that requires you to leave your insecurities and inhibitions outside the studio, so you might as well not take up the bathroom and just put whatever hot shorts you brought to wear (helps to wear short shorts, not leggings. you have to use your legs to stick to the pole).
only downside for me was the distance. from where i live, the studio is very far, considering traffic and all (i have to take the 110 and the 10. even the side streets are a mess). would love to continue with this studio, but i don't think i can stand the distance i'd have to drive, although i definitely suggest going to allure for pole and other 'exotic' fitness needs. nicole is an awesome instructor, she really tries to loosen you up during class - physically and mentally. i think maybe because it was people's first time in the class that it was hard to really let it all hang out. no worries, cuz i'm too afraid of falling and busting my head to really let loose too. sad to say i might have to check out other studios closer to home =( -

Los Angeles, CA
I've been to several pole studios and this one wasn't my favorite.
Good:
- The teachers are nice and work with your skill level
- They offer spinning pole classes (!) and several other fitness classes besides pole
- Good workout
- Cubbyholes for your things
- Everyone has their own pole
Bad:
- Metered, street parking
- The atmosphere seemed a bit clique-y; everyone was talking about the show they had just done
- It was hard to determine the right class level to take, as I have some prior experience, but am in no way a pro
- Studio had a mirror and the lights were up, like a dance class (which is fine, just not my preference)
- The floor was dirty both times I went
I've found other studios that I personally like better, but it's not a bad place. -

Santa Monica, CA
I always come home super SORE!! The sign of a good workout. I have taken the spinning pole classes and the interned/advanced pole classes both taught by Nicole. I love her attitude! She pushes you and she doesn't let you say "I can't". Every time I take a class I learn at least 2 new tricks/combos/moves. The only downside would be that I have to brave tons of traffic to get there from Santa Monica, but it's worth it.

I love this place! The instructors are amazing and the class leaves you sore, which is a good thing!! I've been taking Intro to Pole and I am completely interested in pursuing pole classes to get in shape! I recommend this place to anyone trying to get in shape and feel sexy while doing it!

This is now my regular pole studio. I've been taking classes for 3 months and I love it! My favorite teacher is Kat- she really pushes you, I feel so accomplished (and sore) after each class with her. Classes at regular price are about $25, which is average for pole classes, but too expensive for poor self-employed me. However Allure often has special deals that bring the price down to $10-$12 a class, and that's how I've been able to continue taking them. I highly encourage anyone interested in trying pole to come here! This is a safe intimate, encouraging place to let out the strong, sexy tiger in you.

Los Angeles, CA
I shopped around a bit before settling at Allure. Not only is it the most reasonably priced studio I've come across in LA, but it's possibly one of the only ones in which students DO NOT share poles! It's also just a solid establishment where one can actually learn how to pole dance *well*.
As far as the atmosphere goes, I also appreciate that Allure is kind of a no frills place. That's not to say it's not an inviting space to inhabit, but that the girls there are encouraging and serious about fitness, pole dancing, and helping you reach the peak of your abilities. I personally respond to an encouraging but firm approach when it comes to technique, and Allure has that kind of pedagogical background to its pole dancing classes (I highly recommend Kat and Nicole for this as they've both got a great dance background and it shows!)
Moreover, one really does see women of all shapes, sizes, experience levels, and colors at Allure. I'm more of a guy's girl but I rapidly warmed up to the communal atmosphere; I look forward to pole class as a result of it and go in 2 - 3 times a week now.
In all, I highly recommend :) -

Luv pole dance! I've been taking pole dance at different studios (Allure, Evolve, Secret, S Factor, Polistic).
S Factor and Polistc are mainly focusing on self-connection. They are pricer but their classes are 1.5-2 hours long. Starting with 40-50 slow sexy warm up then pole dance. They have no mirror in the dark rooms.
Allure, Evolve and Secret are mainly focus on techniques and tricks. And here are some facts of Allure.
Goods:
- Price is very reasonable with promotion, even better than Evolve and Secret.
- Not over crowded. Sometimes adv student would show up to help beginners so the instructors to students ratio is great.
- Nicole dances great and is usually nice. She definitely will push you to your limits.
- Kat is very sweet and patient. She teaches new tricks every class and you can ask for something else you wish to learn/practice on.
Bads:
- Do not offer many intermediate and advance classes during the weekend, so those students have to find other studios.
- Dirty floor most of the time (compared to other studios).
Overall I love Allure and highly recommended it. -

Los Angeles, CA
I am in love with this studio. I went originally on a Monday night to try it out (they have a free intro class every first Monday) and was hooked. Nicole really kicked my butt, but in a good, funny way that kept me wanting to come back. I have taken from several instructors now (going on three months yay!) and I think my favorite have been Nicole and Connie. They're funny, and sassy and don't let you not at least try, which sometimes...admit it ladies, it seems easier to just say you can't.
Anyway, the biggest perk about this studio, aside from the awesome staff is that you get your own pole, every time. Everyone is always very willing to help you, and I've never felt awkward about wearing bootie shorts and attempting (usually fairly unsuccessfully) to look sexy. All in good fun, and a killer work out. -
Review from Angela V.
I am seriously hooked. After my first class, my muscles were sore for DAYS, but in the best way possible!
I'm so glad I discovered this place. My friend bought me a Groupon, and even though we finished our first three classes, we kept coming back for more.
This is such a fun way to work out that helps you find your inner sexual confidence. I am one of the most awkward people around, but it never seems to matter each time I'm taking a class here.
The instructors and staff are so friendly and welcoming, especially to newcomers. It becomes like a little community, which is probably why people keep coming back! -

You won't find me taking pole classes anywhere else! I LOVE classes at Allure! I have taken 5 classes now and think the pole classes are the greatest thing since sliced bread! lol.
I have taken most of my classes with the owner Nicole and she is AMAZING! Super talented and a great teacher! She really works with you one on one to make sure you learn the moves and feel comfortable. PLUS its a major work out! I had a Sunday class and am STILL sore!! (It's Tuesday). If you are looking to have a fun way to work out and learn some new tricks Allure is the place to go! -

There is no better way to UNLEASH your inner FIERCE woman-goddess-toger. Seriously, every woman should do this!! It's really liberating to be able to let go of your inhibitions and just focus on being a stronger/sexier/better/more confident you!
Bought a groupon, and took my first class with Owner Nicole. SHE ROCKS!! So helpful, encouraging, casual, and FUN! And the class kicked our butts! She let us know that it was normal and totally fine to look and feel "special" our first few times, but that we can and would get it! And to see how much confidence the non-pole dance-virgins were really showed me that it works and is do-able.
It's a small, private, intimate, professional studio that is still casual and down to earth. Very clean and well run.
Loved it and will be back for more!Listed in: Not your average groupie, Best of LA, CA Active Life

Ok, so after several weeks of promising myself I was going to slow down long enough to write a review, here it is.
Well, I love Allure Dance & Fitness! I've averaged 2 classes a week since June 2011. I will tell u a lil about me so maybe u can relate and come join me @class, lol!! I am a lifelong dancer, athlete, and fitness Junky. Married, 4 kidz, 2 businesses, soccer Mom, w/minimal free time. I am also clumbsy by nature and highly testosterone-esque, ie not so consiciuosly sexy. I will dance, however, for as long as I have breath... And Baby lemme tell U you need your breath when you workout at Allure. I'm totally and completely addicted to the classes here. I usually take/teach African Dance Classes, which are also a full body workout. But, I have been cheatin' on my African Classes to hang/swing/spin/pump/jump - wheeeew- @Allure. I have a gym membership that I have not consistently used in months because of these classes that have stolen my heart. My only grype about these classes is that my schedule does not permit me to take as many of them as I would like. So I just get them in WHERE EVER I can fit them in.
So here's my scoop! This is what I luv about Allure:
~ Professionalism
~ Fun, fun, fun, fun... Did I say fun?
~ My energy is shifted every time I go
~ I have more upper body strength than ever before
~ My tomboy I forgot I was sexy self is ignited continually @Allure
~ The music, the music, the music... Did I say the music?
~ The Body Blast is da bomb Diggity (2nd Fav)
~ Patient attentive instructors
~ Sore in places I never even noticed existed
~ I feel super gr8 when I leave
~ Nice students (bcuz nice staff attract nice students)
~ Commitment to Sexy Fitness Excellence
Can you tell I love it. If I haven't gone to class for a week or so my husband starts asking, "when u going to the pole workout?". Bcuz when I workout on the pole {or sexy floor/booty shakin' or butt blast ;-)} @Allure he gets the benefit of my practice once I'm home. His suggestion to all women, married and single, is to go to pole class daily... Your mate will do ANYTHING you want, just keep going to pole class. -
Review from Sheree P.
Pole dancing is a form of art and finesse...It is NOT stripping for money.
Considering the amount and frequency of food I consume each day, I like to think Allure takes a big part of keeping my a$$ fit. Otherwise it would have probably explode exponentially because I absolutely detest going to the gym. At Allure, you get your own pole, every class. Huge plus.
Not sure whether my first class was with Nicole or Mina, but I remember the intense amount of pain after the class...I think I was in agony for about a week, but I was hooked. I wanted to come back because I was determined to look as graceful and effortless as the other girls were on the pole. Its hard to believe that I've been taking classes once a week (sometimes twice) at Allure for more than a year now!
Instructors I've taken -
~ Nicole: strong, perfectionist and does all her moves with a swagger. I love her Sunday morning classes because it jump starts my otherwise sluggish and lack of sleep body.
~ Mina: master of spinning pole, my weekly source of pain (good pain). I am in awe each time she demonstrates moves with such flexibility and strength like non-other.
~ Ashley: fun, sexy and spunky...girl knows how to shake her bootie...no seriously I mean SHAKE it well. She is also a well rounded dancer, be it in a pair of kicks or 6 inch stiletto platforms.
~ Sasaj: she has an amazing body!! Whatever moves she does, it is always so graceful and pretty...damn her and her long skinny legs.
I can't wait to have my own pole up at the house so I can practice and perfect everything I've learned after weekly classes.Listed in: Fitness according to Sheree

Los Angeles, CA
I first started classes at Allure out of boredom and curiosity. I just moved to the LA area and had a lot of time on my hands...needless to say I put on a few extra pounds since coming here! And I'm not much of a workout person; I hate traditional gyms and didn't want to spend on a membership I'd probably never use. Thats when I discovered the pole classes here. They promised to be fun, didactic and an excellent workout so I signed up for the intro to pole classes.
From my first class (which included a free pair of shoes because I got a package) I was hooked!
Not only am I getting a great workout at Allure but it's also great to learn something new as opposed to running on a treadmill for twenty minutes or something. I've taken classes with both Kat and Ashley; both women are fantastic instructors and have their own unique personalities and instruction styles; I suggest taking classes with both to see who's more you're style.
Ambience is awesome. They've got lovely gold curtains all around so you can't see the classes going on from the street. There are cute floor lamps on either side of the studio that give just enough light to see what you're doing and still look sexy doing it. Alcohol and cloths are provided to keep your pole clean and sweat free (you will work up a swear during your class!). And of course the instructors always play some fun hiphop during the class so you can practice moving to a beat...if you want to.
Overall, I've had nothing but great experiences and intend to continue my classes and workouts. Nothing but great things at Allure! -

I first visited Allure for their Valentine pole show in 2011, and bought myself a one-month package that night. Because of my work schedule, I could only make it to the Saturday classes. In the one month that I took classes there, I took class from Nicole (owner), Sasja, and Ashley. All of the instructors were great. The studio has plenty of poles (I forget if it was 10, or maybe 12?) and the wall has full mirrors. It was a little hard for me to see the studio from street - even after I knew where it was, I tended to pass right by it for the first several visits. I guess the signage just blended into the background for me. The lack of dedicated parking was a hassle. However, my primary reason for not continuing with Allure is that I live in the San Fernando Valley and it always took an hour to drive there. That's not their fault, so I still say it is a great studio for ladies who live in the area. I know they also have some bootcamp type classes, but I did not take those.

Cambridge, MA
I had such a great experience at Allure! While visiting my sister in LA for my birthday, she bought me 3 pole classes at Allure. I was a bit wary at first, having had my heart set on a different studio in LA. When we finally found the studio I thought the understated sign out front was the entrance to an amateur's start up. Boy was I wrong!
As a teacher in training, I signed up for the int-adv class thinking I'd be up w the advanced girls. Looking around, I thought I was evenly matched physically with the girls in the class. The warm-up alone was a workout, including 10 pushups, several crunches, backbends and splits. Though surprised, I was excited to see what the class would bring!
My next pleasant surprise was the height of the poles. No mere double or triple climbs here! Quadruple climbs got me to the top. Fun, fun, fun!
I was glad that the first move was something I'd done before, but this gave me a false sense of security. very quickly we moved into combos that had me sweating, huffing and puffing and looking to the girls around me for help. Damn it was hard! After struggling to hold my own with these incredibly strong women. I was rewarded with a new move that, with some vocal instruction from Mina down below, I was able to get. Look MA! No hands! Did I mention that this was FUN?
The next class I attended was a beg-int class so my sister and I could attend together. Ashleigh grouped the beginner girls on one side and the intermediate girls on the other. The warmup was as demanding as the adv class, and Ashleigh came around to the intermediates and deepened our stretch. Boy was I not expecting that one! Though it stressed me out at the time, I have to admit that my stretches are naturally deeper now. Thanks Ashley! The rest of the class was a great review of turns and a few tricks that I had been working in at home. But Ashley had me refine
them and combine them to look more polished. Then, at the end of class,
she had us all give a solo performance! I can say that none of us wanted
to do it, but, Ashley us so cheery and encouraging that none if us could
refuse. And, what do you know? It was SO MUCH FUN!
For my last class, I signed up for open pole. And here I got to meet Nicole The Pole Williams who was attending to business while another instructor led the class. With only one other student in the room, we got
lots of attention. And, here's when you know you're dealing with people
who love what they do. As our instructor (wish I had written down her
name!) attended to the student with less experience, the injured Nicole
came over to work with me. And as soon as the instructor freed up from
attending to the other girl, she taught me a cool split from a climb that I'd
been trying to get forever. And she did it so sweetly!
As I started talking to Nicole, I realized that I had seen her perform at the championship competition in New York. What a great girl! Throughout the week my sister and I had accidentally created multiple accounts which
made scheduling difficult for me online. Every call we put into the studio
was returned, we were listened to, and the problem was resolved with
great attention to service. I was impressed before ever meeting Nicole,
but even moreso with how friendly, understated, and energetic she is.
I highly recommend Allure to anyone interested in an intense workout and loads of FUN!Listed in: Pole Studios

Review from Erin H.

I love Allure. While I do see the problems that people are talking about on here, they clearly have only been to the studio one time. I really feel that if you've only been someplace once, you should say so, as you had a one time experience that might not be the same as the next. Also, different teachers teach different ways, so if they didn't like that class, they should have tried another one, or said that they weren't satisfied at the time. Things can not be fixed if the people in charge are not made aware that there is a problem.
In the case of "Pole Play" classes, the guests should have read the description of the class more carefully. If is MULTI-level, not "all"-levels. This means that all levels may come into the class. It is an OPEN class where you practice your ticks you are currently working on in your level and you can ask questions if you need help. It is not a CLASS, it is basically a free dance.
Anyway, I love Allure. It took a while to get used to, but that's how it is anytime you start something at a new place, with new people. The higher level classes contain a lot of the same students, most of whom are very supportive and helpful. I have never been to a class where people have not been willing to give me their tips and tricks. Moving into advanced at Allure is like joining an extremely large, and very athletic family.
I strongly suggest that beginners who like a relaxed, fun environment take with Ashley, because she is very welcoming, fun and helpful. The other teachers are as well, but when I was newer at pole dancing, some of the teachers were so ridiculously strong it was intimidating. If you like someone who pushes you really hard, and demands you do everything perfect, then Nicole is for you. She is very much like a trainer, and won't let you slack or say you can't do something. If you want to hide in the background for the first few classes, try Candy's class, it is usually very full. I haven't taken one of Candy's classes but she is very sweet, and her classes are always jam-packed so she's obviously doing something right.
I personally mix up my schedule taking with Nicole, Mina, Ashley and sometimes Tiffany in open pole. I like to learn from different people, and you have several styles and personalities to choose from at Allure.
I was an athlete my whole life and a dancer for most of it. I saw my body go through huge changes when I started dancing at Allure. My back is absolutely ripped, my arms are very toned, and my stomach is 1.5" smaller at the ab area than when I started. It's a great workout if you keep with it consistently.
I strongly recommend Allure to anyone who wants to take pole dancing more seriously then just acting like a stripper on the floor, though they teach that too if you want it! -
Review from Z B.
Los Angeles, CA
My first class here was with Nicole on a Tuesday evening. The class kicked my ass so hard, my chest and shoulders were sore for 4 days afterward. That's my steeze though... I pay for pain! So naturally, the masochist in me came back for more...
I have now taken class with Mina as well and can say that I have enjoyed both Nicole's and Mina's instruction. Their classes are kept pretty small with 1 to 2 people per pole for more one-on-one instruction. They also teach you individually based on your own skill-level so it's basically like a semi-private class geared especially for you. The teachers are thorough and really encouraging and the other students in class have all been down-to-earth cool chicks.
I think two of the biggest bonuses of Pole Dance Allure is that they offer a variety of specials/deals, such as series packages and weekend discount specials, and class is offered every day of the week. -

Long overdue review ... This was my absolute first experience with pole dancing. I took a beginner/intro class. The instructor made me feel comfortable as she knew that this was my first time. The class started off with a floor warm up then we got on the pole and worked on basic spins. I liked that we all got to use our own pole. The only drawback from this class is that it seemed as though everyone was on a different level. Me and another girl was just doing our first class, but then there were a few girls doing inversions and difficult static tricks. It seemed quite intimidating for a beginner/intro class. I know this may not be the fault of the studio since they can't control who shows up for a class. The overall experience was decent. I want to go back and take some more classes at Allure so that I can do an updated review.

Customer Service:
This was the first time taking a class at allure. When we walked in we told the receptionist/owner that we were new. There was no welcome or hello just a fill this paper out and when your done put it in this basket. A few ladies entered after us that are regulars and she proceed to engage them in conversation and was far more welcoming.
Once we were done filling out the paper the class had started and the receptionist/owner was now the teacher so she was no longer at the front desk. We saw other women heading to the back so we did the same, only to find that there are no "changing rooms" just an open space/storage area where you change.
The Class:
We decided to take lunch time pole because it said it was for all Pole levels. This is not true. We started with a warm up in which the teacher talked to one of the women the entire time. Once the class started my friend and I (beginners) were standing there until the teacher finally came around to us and taught us two beginner moves. Though she was encouraging she was not patient. When I asked her to show me the move again she said "No, I've seen you do it already, so just do it". The teacher spent most of her time with the more advanced women. We realized the class was over because women started to leave. Once we gathered all our stuff, my friend went to talk to the Owner/Receptionist/teacher she really wasn't interested in having a conversation with her until she thought she would purchase a pole. At this point I decided to just leave.
I don't know if I would take a class here again. I would look around and try other schools. The prices are reasonable, you get your own pole and I was sore the next day but ALLURE leaves much to be desired. -

When is the best day to wear my red hot booty shorts that say "Make Me Yelp!" across my ass? On my last day of pole class at Allure!
Now if you have never taken a pole class before, this review is not for you. This review will scare you away. Kindly vote this review "useful" then sign up for a beginner class. Focus on your spins then come back to read this when you're confident with your climbs and inverts ;)
I purchased a 3-class deal on Groupon while curious about the classes at this studio. Having taken pole consistently in the past 3 months at another studio, I was unsure what level class would be appropriate for my skills.
DAY 1 - Jin Y. and I take the Beginner class on a sunday afternoon. My first impression was slightly disappointing when I noticed scratches on the poles (or at least the one I was using) almost immediately. However, the studio space is safe, intimate, clean, and inviting. Our instructor, Beverly kicked our butts with lots of strength conditioning. It was awesome! For a beginner class, we reviewed the basic Firefly (or Fireman) spin with two additional variations of leg placement, the chair spin, climbing up the pole and holding your basic stand, and climbing up the pole to stand and bending over. Wow, this seemed pretty advanced for a Beginners class but I liked it because it fit my skill level. Before we left, Beverly suggested that Jin and I try the Intermediate class.
DAY 2 - Jin Y. and I show up to monday night Intermediate. Nicole was teaching that night. Right off the bat, this class intimidated me because the warm up was INTENSE and I wasn't sure if I could keep up. When it came time to learn new tricks, I was extremely scared that this was way beyond my skill level. Nicole taught this cool fan kick to reverse spin combo which ends in a straddle lift up the pole. Yeahhh, I can't do that! So Nicole nicely modified it for me to end in a straddle split on the floor which I liked! She taught several other climbing combos and twisting your body in poses that I didn't think were possible while suspended high up on the pole. Even though I was not able to achieve most of these tricks, Nicole was super cool to give me ample one-on-one time while guiding me through the steps. Before Jin and I left, we told Nicole that we might go back to the Beginner class but Nicole thought we kept up fine and she highly encouraged that we stick to Intermediate.
DAY 3 - Jin Y. had to miss this class so I ventured into the Tuesday night Intermediate class alone only to find out that it is an Intermediate/Advance Class...lol! I seriously wasn't sure if I could keep up but I tried my best to pretend that I belonged there. Once again, my instructor was Nicole and it was cool that my neighboring pole classmate was Beverly, my instructor from before! This class involved a lot of inverted tricks. I'm so glad that I'm confident in my ability to hang upside-down because I would've not been ready for this class at all! The upside-down tricks Nicole had us review was challenging for me. But again, one-on-one time helped me feel like it was okay that I wasn't getting the tricks as fast as some of the other girls in class. Nicole was always encouraging and spotting me so I would feel safe. Right before class ended, Nicole helped me with a Superwoman-like trick where I was holding myself up gripping the pole between only my arm and my side abs. I was shocked that I was brave enough to try this!
Overall thoughts? I like this studio! You have to park on the street but it's not so bad. Prices are pretty reasonable compared to other studios. The instructors are really good and they will help you advance in your tricks.
I have a feeling that I will be back to sign up for more classes. I mean, when will I ever get the chance to sport my red hot "Make Me Yelp!" booty shorts again? ;)Listed in: Endorphins and Adrenaline, POLE! Not your average…

The first theing that stood out is that the outside of the building is very discrete. Once you enter the inside has plenty of room, sexy lighting, awesome customer service and overall there is a very welcoming vibe accompanied by "let's have fun" It was one of the times that everything I read on the orginal site was true upon arrival, including the non competitive atmosphere and lots of motivation to do better.
I went with a friend to take the Inro to pole class, it being both our first time taking a class of anything of this sort.
Our Instructors guided us through the entire lesson and remained considerably patient.
It was definitely worth the money, time, and experience. The day after I could feel the workout throughout my entire body. So I'll definitely go back for more! -

I have been a student of Allure for 3 months now and I thought it was time that I give them a review. My experience with them have been nothing but amazing. Yes I bounce around studios as you can see from my reviews but what I love about all of them is that they are all different and each have their uniqueness.
I came to Allure because I have seen some of their amazing performances. http://www.youtube.com... If I want to advance I knew I had to jump in and join the big girls. They are no joke. The poles are approx 12-14ft tall! Studio is very clean, you get your own pole, classes are available almost every day.
I've had a taste of almost all the intermediate/advance instructors and they are all great and have different styles. I like them all. One that I am seeing more on a consistent basis is Nicole. I like that her warm ups are short n sweet (cause then I get more pole time! HA!), she has a structured class format, very patient, excellent at explaining/showing the technical aspects of tricks, great at pointing out an error you are making and show/explain to you how you can fix it. I've had alot of Aha! moments with her. I think this is one area that Nicole is very gifted at. Another great quality of Nicole is that she is an excellent spotter. Coming from the fitness background I know how important it is to have a good spotter because you are basically putting your trust in that person. I am at a level now where I am getting very comfortable with try new things and knowing that Nicole has my back. Oh yes also I might add she still adds the swagger in all of her instruction. So VITAL! Haha! And I totally agree with Erin about how Nicole really pushes you out of your comfort zone and encourages you. That is how greatness is made.
Also I want to add that their customer service is great. I had a few issues with their booking system online. They where very patient with me and did everything they could to resolve the problem. Thanks Sajsa for putting up with me and my anxiety! hahaha!
So I highly recommend anyone wanting to take pole dancing to another level to give Allure a shot.
The End. :P -

Found this place via a groupon coupon. Menina made my intro to pole class very fun! She definitely encourages everyone to have fun and taught us a lot within an hour. Great workout for abs, arms and legs. The class can fit 10 people, large enough to feel like you're not on the spot and small enough to get 1:1 assistance from the teacher. Looking forward to more classes!

I was at Allure this past Sat for a 1 1/2 hour pole dance Birthday party. Our instructor was Ashley! She is AMAZING!!! She made everyone feel super comfortable! Mostly everyone was a newbie, so this was very important. She had us all laughing and opening up to try new things. I also enjoyed the format of the class. It was part pole, part lap dance, booty shaking and she even performed for us at the end of the class! Now EVERYONE wants to have a pole party.

So, I came here just to try it out because I had heard that pole dancing is a really good workout, blah blah. It TOTALLY WAS A WORKOUT. I was sore for about 4 days, and now I have to go back and do it again, which I'm so down for!
The classes are small, and while I was really apprehensive about the whole thing in the beginning, they made me feel really comfortable. Thanks Connie! I bought new heels that day, and I'm totally ready for more and more and more. It was soooo fun. I'd recommend Allure to anyone and everyone. -

Actually, it's more like 3 1/2, but I know that's not an option. My point and 1/2 off are a matter of personal taste, not necessarily a jab at the studio.
First the good: The lobby is nice and the reception you get when you come in is friendly. The prices are decent and they often have specials. The parking is not so bad. Metered and residential. They have very high poles and that is a plus in my book and they have ten of them I believe. I like the way they are organized. Next to each pole rubbing alcohol, a cloth for cleaning, dry hands to help your grip and the spray on stuff for a super grip. It's really great to have those things so readily available. There are no windows in the actual studio, so the lighting is flattering. Also, I noticed that the mirror makes you a lot thinner than you actually are, and that never hurts.
My instructor, Connie was very friendly. It seemed like she was continuing part of a series of classes with the same students. They were all warm and welcoming. I took a beginning/intermediate class. I wanted to review some spins since I've been traveling a lot this year and hadn't had much time to practice on my pole at home. I did come out of this class learning some new spins. Spinning is a strength with Connie.
Now, the not so good: The space in back where you store your things, change, bathroom et. is really small. We just had five people in class and we were on top of each other. On a hot day and a full class, this could be pretty uncomfortable. Add this to another class coming in before your class is finished, it becomes more clustered. Not fun.
There was no cooling down or stretching after this class at all. I feel that's important after any sort of aerobic activity.
Lastly, Connie started out warm up in heels, doing sexy walks around the pole, encouraging us to touch our hair, legs where ever. Now this is just a matter of taste, but I prefer classes that focus on strength and form rather than learning about the sexy. But if this is something you are into, Connie is your girl.
Considering all these things, Allure is good, solid place to take pole lessons. -

Pole dancing is not just for strippers! I'm a lawyer who gets an awesome work out and Nicole totally "gets" that it's an athletic, fun, flirty style of exercise. Every time I go to her studio I leave sweaty and tired (lol) which means she is pushing me to do and achieve my best! She brings legitimacy to the pole dance industry through her athleticism and strength. You can be sexy AND fit. I'm living proof of that.. I went from a size 8 to a zero!

Allure is an amazing dance studio. New to pole dancing I was a little nervous in the beginning. My first class was with Nicole and she was great. She took the time to explain the movements and techniques so that I could catch on to the basics.
Now, I'm hooked. I go to class 4 to 6 times a week and my body has gotten so strong. I've had class with almost all the instructors, I always get a great workout with all of them. Mina is amazing, Sasja and Dionne are also and Rashida can always break down a move so that I get it. I highly recommend Allure if you want to get into the art/sport that is pole dancing.

Allure is my 3rd dance studio. I tried pole and chair dancing for my first time on the east coast and really liked it, than I was going consistently to a real hood spot on Crenshaw, that shut down in the middle of the night unbeknownst to anyone going there. I was a little apprehensive about finding a new studio b/c I thought they were going to be outrageously priced, but I found Allure which is also super close to my house. They were having a monthly package special for the new year so I dove in nose first. Nicole (one of the instructors and owner) was so patient and sweet to me when I had technical difficulties signing up online and has continued to be this way with me when I was having problems w/scheduling. Thank you Nicole!! I know I can be slow sometimes. But I've finally got into the classes and I've worked with 3 different instructors. Like everyone said, all has their own style. I love Connie's stretching and ab workout at the beginning (i LOVE stretching) Minina is so sweet and patient and will work with you again and again to get it right. Nicole knows her ish and will work you!
The best thing about this place is it's really classy. (esp compared to the last place I was at) they have curtains to block the front off, it's all women and it's a very accepting and inviting atmosphere. They know what they're doing there and have it together. I also really like that you can buy pole attire there in case you don't have any. I'm still a newbie on the pole, but I plan on continuing to go here for a long time! It's my favorite workout!! -

I just got home from my first class at Allure with Nicole and I am totally impressed. The moves and techniques made for an intense workout that you can feel in your muscles. Although I flailed around like a bull inside the china shop, Nicole's sense of humor and encouraging style made it easy to keep trying without embarrassment. Thank you:) Pole Dancing Grace - A new challenge to conquer and scratch off the bucket list!

Most people would not guess that I'm a pole devotee, but that's exactly the point. At Allure, there is no "typical" student. We are teachers, probation officers, lawyers, students, estheticians... and this is clearly a testament to the welcoming environment Allure has created.
When I started at Allure, I was mechanical and I had no strength. After the amazing encouragement I received from both the instructors and the other students, I found my groove and stuck with it.
After a year, I have seen a transformation in all aspects of my life, and it's all thanks to what I have gotten from Allure. I am more in touch with my femininity, my body has completely changed, I have more confidence and I'm more comfortable in my skin. My body has become tight and strong, and I carry a little secret with me each day knowing what I can do with it!
Each time I move into a more advanced class level, the instructor differentiates the class for me. They always make sure you are working at a level that is appropriate for YOU, even if that means they have two classes going in one.
At Allure, there is no competition among the women in the classes. Everyone is encouraging, we celebrate each other and our accomplishments.
Give Allure a try, and like me, you will be addicted! -

I've taken the intro class at S Factor but came to Allure because I can't afford S Factor.
I signed up for the Thursday night Virgin class with Jennifer.
When I arrived I was greeted warmly and when others showed up they went straight to the back of the room. One of the instructors came over to me in the lobby where I'd been sitting and said "Oh, when you come to class you should always go straight to the back." Oh, okay. I told her I was new so obviously I had no idea about this but she said it like "Duh!"
I was in the Virgin level class (even before the beginner level) but everyone there seemed to know what was going on (except one other person) so I followed them. The instructor did a very brief warm up (with very easy things to very difficult and nothing in between) and then showed us how to do a spin around the pole with both feet on the ground. Okay, I was kind of getting this...
After she showed us that we were all practicing it (and 80% of the class was doing all kinds of tricks since they were obviously not beginners) and she just walked around, not really giving many pointers to the two of us that weren't quite there yet.
After a few minutes of that she showed us another spin with our legs both on the pole. Everything she showed us she just did, with no actual explanation, and expected us to copy her. I tried and tried but wasn't getting this trick (I'm a beginner!). Then she moved on to swinging around it with both legs in the air. When she came over to me to show it to me again I said that I was still having trouble getting one let in the air, let alone two. Her attitude was "try it."
There was no real instruction whatsoever in this class. It most certainly wasn't filled with newbies, and most of the class was spent just standing around since there's no way you could possibly spin on the pole for a whole hour without rubbing your hands raw.
I barely sweat since I couldn't really do much of what was being shown and it was a terrible workout.
S Factor is much better in my opinion. You share the pole there but honestly, you can't use the pole yourself for a whole hour anyway. Plus, at S Factor they have a beautiful studio, with a lovely mood-setting atmosphere, and a really strong "let's have fun and be girly" attitude. I had a much better time with them and got a much better workout.
I think allure would be great for the more advanced pole dancer who just wants to practice but I think S Factor is better for beginners. -

This review should be 4 1/2 stars............Ok so I have a whole new respect for professional and competitive Pole Dancers. What a workout! I've never been anywhere near a pole before today, I took an Intro to Pole class with Nicole the owner of Allure Fitness. She was very hands on and encouraging. TOTALLY ENJOYED her class. The studio is appropriately sized and intimate, not too over whelming for a newbie and most importantly very welcoming....no Hollywood who's who, blah blah blah.....dont let the unassuming street front and signage fool you, these girls are professionals....and Nicole "the Pole" is a sweety. I highly recommend if your new to the activity. Oh and prepare to sweat! Nicole does a great warm up and stretching exercise before you start your pole work and yes you will be spinning on the pole before your first class is over....Oh DONT oil or lotion your skin before you go and dont take too many belongings inside with you as there are no lockers (the reason for the 1/2 star), just an open storage area for belongings, other than that this place is tops, clean, friendly and affordable, not to mention a great workout!
