My family and I wanted to go somewhere different. So we decided to go to the All Spice Indian Resturant. The food was amazing! The flavors are well developed and are not over powering.

Food was ok. It all tasted the same.  Maybe I ordered the wrong dishes together?
Samosas were ok. The two side sauces that came with them were the best actaully. They  both had two distinct flavors and some heat!
Basmati rice withe peas and spice was just ok too. I like more of a dry rice and this was a bit mashy.
Cauliflower and potatoes were good though their flavor was the same as the rice dish.
I'd probably go back if I had a serious craving for east Indian food and didn't want to drive to Berkeley.

The food is great! And the service. This Indian food has a different style than most spots because of the Fijian influence. Everything I've had is great. Try the Fiji portion of the menu. Also, the customer service is great. Really friendly people. The best Indian food in the area for sure. Eat here.

The best lunch deal around.  For $9.00 you get all-you-can-eat buffet with endless naan.

The staff is welcoming and friendly.  The food is flavorful and bountiful.

The only con is that I walk out of there way too stuffed.

My co-worker & went here for lunch, both had the buffet. I've seen bigger buffets; it only had three meat selections plus three side dishes. The lamb dish had more bones than meat in it. The one plus was the hot non-stop naan that you get included. We were the only ones in the place during the whole lunch hour. I'd drive to Neela's in downtown Napa if you're looking for better quality Indian food, with a nicer atmosphere.

Well it's the only great Indian restaurant you will find until you at least hit Fairfield. Their lunch buffet for the smooth $9.50 was not bad at all. They serve chicken tandori, chicken tikii masala, alhoo paradah, some other curries in including Lamb! The fresh naan is made upon request and its free. They also serve basmati rice. The gentleman was friendly, and I talked to him and he said business is slow..I said to him your food tastes very good why are you experiencing slow business? He said because of the location is hard to see off the main highway.

The only thing I dislike about this place and it's not just this place, that chinese restaurant across the street has the same problem as well, is that the interior lacked soul. There is no character to lead up to being an Indian restaurant. No Indian music, no Indian art, no Indian furniture or decorations, the air ventilation is poor. All newly built places are like this for some reason they come out looking like a plain box-houses, you know, the ones you could buy across the street. I mean it takes a lot of decorating to get rid of that boxy feeling with the plain walls, high ceiling, and cheap tile floor. I mean maybe have some flying bellydancers on a flying carpet on the weekends and some hookah stations along with the food and some great bellydancing music, serve up some magical cocktails to go with the food and don't even think of overpricing it and man you got a fine banging little Indian restaurant.

So 4 stars is all I give, 4 for making the effort to run the business and make the food, now you need to find a way to attract your peoples and get it crackin up in there.

The best indian restaurant near vallejo, no contest.  Like, literally no contest because they're the only one.  I've had better indian food, but I grew up in fremont and work in san francisco so I'm spoiled.  The decor and the tv they always have going in the dining room doesn't do anything for me so i always order to-go.

Seriously though, this place is pretty damn good.  Indian / Fijian is an interesting combo but it works.  The owner is friendly and obviously works really hard to do the best he can with a small staff in a small kitchen at a small restaurant and that shows through in the quality of the food.  Their Kishmiri Naan (with cherries and raisins) is feckin amazing.  The wife loves their Daal (lentil) dishes, and I'm a fan of just about everything I've tried.   They also do paneer pakoras which I've never seen elsewhere and are absolutely amazing with that red plum dipping sauce.   Long story short, if you're in Vallejo or American Canyon this is the place to go to order indian take-out.

I usually feel compelled to give a rating on Yelp when the rating didn't match the food.  I came here expecting a four star food and was surprised that the food was quite off.

The Lamb Saag tasted unlike any I've had in the past, including buffets.  The chicken tikka masala also tasted unlike what I am used to - are us East-Bayers restaurant snobs?  I don't think so, having had excellent Indian food in Fairfield and Vacaville as well.

My 6 year old who loves CTM did eat it without complaint, though.

Food was served in cereal looking bowls, which was a bit different.

Waitress was new or over worked, but no big deal.

Pricing was high.  I think I paid ten-something for the CTM and twelve something for the LS.

Pros: The garlic naan is delicious, buttery and garlicy
The chicken tikka masala is great too, creamy and spicy
A good place to share a big bottle of Indian beer
When no one else is there the owner lets the boyfriend and I pick the channel for the corner mounted TV

Cons: It is really ugly in there. The color of the walls is shameful.
The food is not expensive, but not cheap either.
I know this is a small dumb detail, but the cutlery is cheap and ugly too. Worse than the dinning commons in college.

Eat here and support a local family run business!

I just can't get enough of this place.  I'm forcing the hubby to eat it so much, I think he officially hates Indian food.  I eat from here at least once a week (OK, 2 weeks top).  Chicken Tikka Marsala is my fave, along with the veggie samosas and the alhoo paradah (don't know if I'm saying it rights but the bread with potatoes and peas inside).
The only reason I don't give them 5 stars is because they are closed on Monday's and it never fails that after a horrible day at the job, I always want them on a Monday.
Keep up the good work Allspice and consider opening on Mondays for greedy people like me :)

This is a great little place that replaced Keva Juice in the small center across from Safeway!!

The food here is decent, but for American Canyon it was GREAT!  It is open later than some of the other joints around so that wins it and extra star. I had the Chicken Tika Masala and it was good, I was hoping it was a little more spicy but hey it is American Canyon after all. The tamarind, jelly stuff was soo good I could eat it alone.

The service was extremely slow, even though I called my order in, however the owner explained that he had been slow and sent 2 cooks home, to keep his overhead down. This makes a lot of sense especially when they are first opening.

The only thing I must say is I hope the pricing will go down some as their business picks up.
I look forward to plenty more trips to this place. The onion Naan Was delicious.

I would have to give All Spice Indian Restaurant 2 stars.  I know its America Canyon.  So what do you expect?  How about better!  It's called a restaurant with a professional in the kitchen.

The tandoora chicken was salty and dry.  It supposed to be rich in flavor (spicy) and moist?  The vegetable korma and rice were fine, yet the vegetables were not fresh.  The plain Nan was fine.  The vegetable samosas were dry.  There was no love in making this food.

I should say that I'm spoiled when it comes to Indian food.  I use to live in Bernal Heights in the city and ate at Zantes Pizza all the time - great  Indian food.  If you are in the neighborhood check it out.

Little place run by super friendly folks with yummy food.
    That sums it up.
It's a little casual spot that is extremely accomodating to it's customer.
There is a buffett but we didn't try it and I forgot to ask the price. It's available everyday from 11-4pm.
We ordered 2 appetizers, a main dish (comes with rice and nan) and an extra bowl of rice. 3 people ate for $18 and we were full AND had leftover. I can't wait to try the nan wrap or the goat! Yes they serve goat!
I will say I thought our food could have been spicier but next time I will ask!

Went in for their lunch buffet, served 11am-4pm. We got there on the late side, around 2:30pm so I was very happy the buffet was still going on. For $9.85, I expected more variety in a "buffet" with a minimum of seven or eight different dishes. Today they offered Rice, Sahai Paneer, Chana Masala, Chicken Tikka Masala, Goat Curry, and Rice Pudding for dessert. Perhaps the space limitation dictated the size of the buffet table.
I'm no expert on Indian cuisine, but have had enough of it to distinguish which is good and bad. All Spice is pretty good, very flavorful. I started craving for more a couple hours after we left.

They baked fresh Naan, which was delicious,  and delivered to our table.
The food is on the mild side; no complaints here on that. They do have squeeze bottles of hot sauce at every table available for those who desire that.

I had to ask the owner to point out on the menu which dishes were served on the steam table, so it would be nice if they labeled each tray, like most Chinese restaurants do. If they did, I would not have put that Goat Curry on my plate :o

The owner was very welcoming, but not in a desperate or imposing way. Since we were the only customers left because of the late lunch, he answered some questions, conversed about how they make their cheese in-house, foods and digestion, where he's from, etc., nice fellow.

I agree with most reviews that the price needs to lower around maybe $2 for their menu entree items, or serve up more dishes on their buffet. But no other Indian place around here, so I guess they can do that. But overall, a good experience.

I've been here a few times and this is the best Indian spot around here within a 5-10 mi. radius. The food is good and the owners are great people. I recently stopped off and got a naan wrap, but only had my card. He said I could pay next time and I'm headed back there tonight.

I'm a vegetarian so I've gotten the chana masala and the bhindi a few times and both were great. I'm about to call to see if they make masala dosas because I've beencraving those.

I've only been to the buffet twice; the only thing that sucks is thr size of it, but I guess you don't really need like 10 different items. They always make the naan fresh which is a plus and their hot sauce is pretty bomb too.

Gave it 4 stars because it's closed on Mondays!

The food here is really good. I would give them five stars as a value proposition. However, the ambiance and decor are a little spartan. When we went in tonight, we were surprised to see it was rather slow, which would explain why we may not have experienced the same slow service other people have mentioned. Unlike many restaurants, All Spice cooks their dishes to order, instead of in large batches. Although I've never been to India, I've been closer than many, and the flavors were very much in line with my experiences both here in the United States and abroad. They could step the spice level up a tad, but perhaps they've toned it down to appeal to the western palate.

I feel it's important to bring up that we've eaten at Neela's, the other new Indian place in the Napa Valley twice since they've opened, and our experience at All Spice was much, much better. I'm confident that running a neighborhood curry shop is different than running a "destination restaurant." However, in both scenarios, people are looking for good food, good service, a memorable experience, and good value. In all honesty, All Spice succeeded here, while Neela's, well...has some work.

I don't always eat Indian food, but when I do....it's ALL SPICE.

Showed up 10min before closing and the owner was very nice and friendly!! He and his family hail from the island nation of Fiji.

Had the goat saag and chicken curry served with rice. Both were super!  Samosas were excellent as well...

Recommendation: order it extra spicy!!!  and definitely try the Fijian beer if available, it's hard to find in the US.

Really enjoyed this place!  I personally think its wayyy better than naan n curry.  I love their cheese fritters, roti, naan, and chicken tikka masala.  We also had another type of naan, i forget what its called but its 2.99 and it had a potato and stuffing in it.  They also offer a buffet for about 8 dollars.  Unfortunately I didnt give it a try.  Maybe next time...

The curry isnt too spicy, but im pretty sure you can just ask them to spice it up for ya.  If anything they also had a hot sauce condiment available on the table.

They are extremely friendly and the service was great.  I recommend this place :)

This really is as good as it gets. Several years ago we ate at what was reputed to be the "best Indian restaurant in London" and it was outstanding. This is better. I don't go to a neighborhood curry for ambiance and this place isn't swanky but the service was personal and efficient and the food is to die for. The menu isn't enormous but you'll find what you're looking for and the local craft beer is a perfect accompaniment! My favorite dish was the chicken mahkani but the vegetable korma was outstanding, too. The naan is freshly made for the table and perfect.

This is a great place to take someone who has either never had Indian or thinks they don't like it.

All Spice is likely to increase property values for miles around!!

The best Indian I have had in a long time.  The owner and his sons were warm and friendly.  They made us feel welcome as soon as we walked in.  We decided to order a variety of dishes.

We started with the Samosas, they were wonderful, not too heavy and perfectly spiced.  The dipping sauces were perfect.

We also ordered the Chicken Tikki Masala, which was rich, creamy and spiced to perfection.  The veggies were fabulous.

Probably the best thing we ordered was the Goat Saag.  We have never had goat, but if it always tasted this amazing I would order it all the time. The goat was slow cooked, on the bone, with Spinach and spices.  It was one of the best Indian dishes I have ever had.

We also enjoyed the Garlic Naan, again some of the best I have had, and a Mango Lassi. The prices were very good, especially for the quality.  We will being going back again and again.

All Spice? More like no spice! I don't mean to be so cruel especially since the service was wonderful. They were super friendly. But unfortunately the food didn't match.

My bf and I ordered our usual, chicken tikka masala and garlic naan. Clearly, the naan was not made in a tandoori oven as it didn't have the crispiness that it should have.

One thing that did make the meal ok was their amazing chai. That's all.

This is a new restaurant across the street from Safeway. There is a small menu and a few ready-to-go steam table items. The owner is very pleasant. They opened three weeks ago at the beginning of Feb 2009.

I haven't tried it yet, but they get fours stars just for
    1. Opening an Indian restaurant in Americn Canyon
    2. Serving goat curry and goat bhuna

Given it is the only Indian restaurant in American Canyon, I can honestly say it is the best Indian restaurant in Amercan Canyon. Will update as soon as I eat there.

Okay, I give this place three stars based on the service and food combined. I went for the lunch buffet which was very small but the selection was very pleasing! The Tiki Chicken Marsala and naaa was great along with the rice pudding but I wish I could say the same for the service.
The "counter" girl did not pick up our dirty plates, so we had a pile of dirty dishes on our table while she read a book. The place was  far from busy. For being a mom and pop place I would give them four stars but they need better help!

Like other yelpers, I too find that  the restaurant's ambiance is sparse, but we usually order 'to go' anyway. Excuse the decor (or near complete lack thereof) and open your mind and taste buds to the yummy goodness known as All Spice. That's what I did, and it worked out quite well. : )

Last week, I purchased a $25 gift certificate for $1 online for All Spice (if it sounds like I'm bragging, I am...it's an amazing deal!), a quaint Indian-Fijian (an interesting and surprising combo which thankfully did not negatively affect the traditional Indian fare I ordered) restaurant.

    Friendly, engaging owner. Check!
Delicious, buttery, perfectly crisped garlic naan. Check!
Flavorful, creamy chicken tikka masala and nav koorma. Check, check!
Extra rice at no cost. Plus!
One Taj Mahal large enough to split between people for only $4. Another plus!

Based on my experience, I really don't think you can go wrong at this place. It's good, solid Indian food at a moderate price.

I love indian food and when I had the craving the other day I thought "hey, why haven't I tried this place right in my back yard?"

I'm glad I did. Went there for lunch and I was the only patron in there the entire time. I didn't care, the buffet (although very limited) was excellent. The chicken tikka masala was right on and the goat curry was absolutely delicious. The chef emerges from the kitchen with a basket containing a piping fresh naan. I went 2 rounds at the buffet and would have done a 3rd round but I was stuffed.
Give this place some time to get some recognition and it'll be packed every day as long as the food is as great as when I went there.

I would've given it 5 stars if the buffet was more extensive.

I was in the mood for "something different" today. Normally, I don't eat Indian food, and by normally, I really mean I don't ever eat it, the spices can be a bit too much for me. After reading the reviews here, I decided to give it a try. Saw the person who mentioned the naan wrap (thanks for the tip) and tried the veggie naan wrap. Delish!

It's so hard to find good vegetarian sandwiches in the area, without driving up to Napa, and the veggie crap at Subway doesn't really cut it. The naan wrap was a great sandwich. Sure it's not a five dollar footlong, but I'm used to paying more for a sandwich anyway. It was a tasty blend of spices and veggies wrapped up in house made toasty naan.

And the chai is great too! Beats the chai at Starbucks, and i should know because I used to drink it everyday.

Up here in the north of the bridge, sometimes it can be hard to find some good indian food, especially good food at a decent price. We decided to make the journey up there to check out this place. It's tucked away in a new strip mall and we were surprised! The guy working was very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The best part about the buffet was the price. It was tasty and cheap! I just wish it was closer to my house.

This place is a true gem in an unexpected location. For starters, the owner and all of his family are excellent people who truly cook from the heart. The food is equally inspiring. The Chicken Tikka Masala is creamy, sweet, savory and simply sublime. The lentils, peas and potatoes, and eggplant are cooked with a heavenly combination of spices. The goat is tender and spiced to perfection. The decor is simple and unassuming but the food and humanity will wow you. We are lucky to have such a wonderful place so close to where we live!
