If we lived nearby, I would totally invest in a year membership, if they have them available. I didn't look, as I live many miles away. The cost to get in is around 20$ for an adult, and they let the toddler in our group go free. If you are so inclined, Alligator Adventure will let you come back for free within a week, which we totally took advantage of.
The highlights of course are the large amounts of alligators and crocodiles, some of them exotic examples from other parts of the world. There are two very cool albino alligators with their own little house and even a couple gharials! This is a very exciting place if you love reptiles and amphibians.
There is a snake house with a large assortment of venomous and non venomous snakes and another house with turtles, lizards and frogs. Throughout the park there are also little surprises like a kookaburra, parrots, the bobcats, the tigers, the duckpond and my son's favorite, the camel and his little friend the donkey.
There are educational talks where kids can touch alligators and snakes as well as learn a few things too. There isn't much for food but a little snack bar with ice cream and soda. The gift shop is reasonable with good t shirt deals. I love this place.Comment from Shana M. of Alligator Adventure 3/27/2012

Really enjoyed this attraction at Barefoot Landing. They have a lot more than just alligators. We spent almost 3hrs walking around. They have really neat shows that you can watch and ask the trainers questions. The trainers actually wonder through out the park and will answer any questions that you have. On a nice day this is a great place to wander around and check out.
Tip: If you go to one of the stores in Barefoot Landing - they sell the tickets for a discount. We got $2 off each ticket. -

I have to say that my love for Alligator Adventure is widely joked about by my family. It is definitely not my usual cup of tea, but something about this place gives me the warm fuzzies. That's right: cold blooded, carnivorous animals give me the warm fuzzies.
Where to begin: It is clean, the animals well cared for. They have rescue alligators. They let you touch the adolescent alligators during their educational reptile show. The albino alligators are amazing. Yutan is the biggest, bad ass crocodile I have ever seen. You can watch the alligator feedings. They give you a return pass, that I ALWAYS use.Comment from Shana M. of Alligator Adventure 3/27/2012

Every time I went to Myrtle Beach I wondered about this place. On a recent visit I decided to satisfy my curiosity. And I am glad I did.
I expected to see alligators and crocodiles but I didn't expect to see the various other animals including birds, turtles, lemurs, tigers, camels and more.
This is a great place for any animal lover, just don't get so close to the gators!
I'm a bird person so my favorite thing was the macaws, the sun conures and even the ducks. Sorry gators.
But it was great to see the gators being fed, the baby gators and the various types of gators and reptiles found throughout the world.
This is one of the must see attractions in Myrtle Beach.Listed in: I dowanna grow up, Grand at the Strand, Birdland

This is one of the coolest and most original places I've ever been to! I cannot believe how many alligators and crocodiles they have in this place as well as other animals like tigers, big and little (who are all on each other like it's mating season) turtles, snakes, the donkey and the zebra.
My favorite was 'Bob'- the alligator born without a tail. He even has his own little house. My husband fell in love with him.
The price is great and the facilities are very well run and clean. Definitely stay for a feeding. I can't believe a gator can jump that high. My family lives in Myrtle and I've been telling them to go here for 2 years. They still haven't gone, so I've just continued to badger them. One day I'll wear them down.Comment from Shana M. of Alligator Adventure 3/27/2012

Welcome to the "Reptile Capital of the World" home of Utan, The King of Crocs, the largest crocodile to ever be exhibited in the United States. In case you're wondering his jaws bite pressure is a mind boggling 5 tons PSI! Utan photos and trivia: http://shoutaboutcarol...
Tickets: Adults $16.95, Seniors $14.95, Children ages 4-12 are $10.95; under 3 get in free.
Tips to know before you go:
1. Start your tour at the other end to avoid the alligator "fatigue" (there are hundreds thorughout the zoo) and say hello to: Bob the alligator without a yail, "The Swamp White Ghost" albino alligator, the fake Gharial and the chinese Alligators.
2. Plan your visit after Spring Break as this is when the live feedings start. Best time of the day is between 11:00 AM (first feeding) and 1:00 PM (when Utan, the King of Crocs eats). Feeding shows are every 2 hours. Live feeding will go on through mid-October.
3. Young kids have a blast at the Reptile Show when they can pet snakes, turtles and a baby alligator. Nearby is a snack food stand.
4. You can get your second day at the park for FREE. Make sure to check your ticket at the gate before you leave. You can also save a buck or two if you buy your ticket online ahead of time.
5. Other popular attractions:
-The Green Anaconda, the world's largest snake and a variety of skin crawling pythons feautred inside the air-conditioned snake amphiteater (one of the best of its kind in the country)
-The "big puppies Giant Galapagos Turtleswith shells", love attention and are always on the move.
-The colorful blue and gold macaw may chat with you if they are in a good mood. -

We've been here several times over the years. When we first stopped in the expectations weren't high, looking at it from the road it looks like a roadside dump. Once we went in it became one of our favorite attractions here. There is a very large variety of reptiles on display along with otters, birds, lemurs, and even Siberian tigers.
Call ahead before you go to find out if they are feeding Utan that day. As of July 13, 2009 he's fed at 5:30 on Wednesdays and Saturdays. You can also find a $1.00 off coupon on their website.
This is a great place to take the kids and the family. We highly recommend it! -

My fiancee and I were in Myrtle Beach for my birthday, and based on all the reviews I had seen we decided to visit Alligator Adventure. It was definitely worth it!
As you would expect from the name, the park contains mostly alligators and crocodiles. However you will also find turtles, snakes, birds, lemurs, two tigers, and when we went they also had an exhibit housing a baby zebra, baby camel, and baby donkey together. It's only a 15 acre park, but we easily spent almost 3.5 hours there. Additionally, with each ticket you buy for admission you are granted a free second day in the park (to be used within 7 days).
You should make sure to catch all the feedings and shows. We went during the tourism off-season so it wasn't busy at all and we got very good views for the alligator, tiger, and lemur feedings. The reptile show was very cool too and we got to pet both an albino python and a young alligator. Other unique animals worth seeing are the albino alligators, Utan "King of the Crocs," and Bob, a female alligator that was born in the park and is completely lacking a tail.
Alligator Adventure is definitely at the top of my list of attractions to see in Myrtle Beach, and I would recommend it to anyone who is visiting. -

It was a fun place to visit. Not too crowded. Price isn't bad and this place isn't far from other things you want to do when you're done. The coolest part was when they fed the crocs.

My boyfriend and I had a blast. Not sure about my best friend. She was off getting sweet tea and texting people half the time. What we loved: playing with one of the tigers until it playfully charged at us (from inside the cage, duh), seeing the baby lemur and HUGE snakes, the misty sprinklers to cool us off, holding a 3-foot alligator (go to the "shows" if you can and you get to do this too - the shows are short though so show up early to get in the front row), and seeing the alligators and crocs get along with turtles (I had no idea this was possible). The big tortoises are really cool. They came over and said hi to us. As did one of the smaller snakes (that was kind of freaky).
Overall not a bad place! AND I got a long sleeved tshirt for $7 (not even the sale price!!!). sweet deals in the big store at the end of the park. -

We went here with very low expectations. But Alligator Adventure has a little bit of everything. Of course, gators, but they also have birds and tigers and other animals like a mini-zoo. It's pretty cheap to go there, and if you're up for traveling a few miles past MB, I definitely recommend it.

I'm glad my kids don't want to go here anymore. It's modestly entertaining the first time you go. Each trip thereafter is painful.
