My first time using a group-on and I Just had my first appointment
here with Jeanne and I came out very satisfied.
I felt uncomfortable at first coming in not knowing what to expect.
Having bad skin since out high school,Jeanne really explained a lot of what was going on. Described what was going on with my skin and provided information on how to make it better. Her professionalism made me feel right at home and I was able to purchase their acne kit. I'm planning to make a return visit soon! -

This place is great, and I especially have loved my experiences with Tao. I bought a Living Social deal for some treatments here, but have never been treated like "one of those people with a coupon".
Tao is extremely professional but also very sweet and personable. I love how she takes the time to answer all my paranoid questions and never makes me feel rushed. She also doesn't fall into the sometimes insulting practice of "suggesting" services I haven't asked specifically about - she never makes me feel like I NEED to have something done.
Another plus, there's a yogurt shop right next door. Great relief from the wonderful, but unavoidably painful treatment sessions! -

Very disappointed with the customer service. Front desk has been extremely abrupt and rude.
The response to my comment on that over the phone today was, "that is the way I talk". -

Called for the Google Offer (https://www.google.com...) because I wanted to get underarms done and the offer is only "Valid for any medium-sized treatment area." (Underarms are typically categorized as a "small" treatment area.) A friend of mine had called Allied Skin Institute also interested in the underarm treatment, and told me she was able to get a 50% off deal for the "small treatment area" by calling in.
I called today saying I was interested in laser hair removal for my underarms, and was told that Allied Skin Institute was having a special discount for 50% off the treatment. The total for underarm laser treatment (a small area) would be $300 (basically, exactly the same as the Google Offer deal, which is for "medium-sized treatment areas").
When I told the receptionist that I heard the rate was $575 (which means the 50% off price would be under $300), I looked at my phone and realized that they had hung up on me!Comment from Ilbra A. of Allied Skin Institute 5/13/2012

I bought the groupon for this place to get laser hair removal. So far, I am pleased with the results. The staff is friendly for the most part (I prefer to deal with Ilbra at the front desk only). It's nice, and super clean which is always a plus.
I feel like they do go above and beyond to keep thier customers happy, and to answer all questions.
I would reccomend this place for laser hair removal - thier prices are the best in SJ hands down. -
Review from J A.
San Jose, CA
I purchased a daily deal for a 1/2 hr chemical peel for $29. The experience far exceeded my expectations. A few key points:
-The peel was great and left my skin feeling very nice and slightly rosy. I'm certain that if I continue with a series, I will definitely see a reduction in fine lines and brown spots.
-The spa is very nice, clean and relaxing. The girls at the front desk were very sweet and helpful and one of them even brought me a cup of tea while I waited (not low-quality lipton, but the good stuff).
-The esthetician (wish I could remember her name) was awesome! She was very friendly, personable and really seemed to know what she was doing. She asked me questions about my skin sensitivity before applying anything and made sure to explain exactly what she was doing as she went along, which I thought was important.
-Prices were not bad at all for a series of chemicals peels. The package of five that I was quoted for also comes with a really high end line of skin care products called Vibrance Therapy. I should point out that they didn't force the package prices on me, I actually had to ask.
- WIth other health & beauty daily deals I've purchased in the past I notice the procedure provided is scaled back and often the service is lacking in some way, I didn't find that to be the case with Allied. It really seemed to me that the procedure and level of service I received would have been exactly the same as if I'd paid full price.
Overall a great experience. I definitely plan to go there again and would highly recommend it to anyone considering a chemical peel.
Tip: If you're hungry after your vist check out the hole-in-the-wall Indian place a few doors down. Very tasty. I think it's called Peacock ?? -

This place is truly a hidden treasure!
From the moment you walk in, the spa is filled with good energy from the beautiful decor to the great customer service. I am extremely picky about where I get various treatments & have yet to find a place where I can feel happy enough with the results to return again. My search has ended here! I will be telling all my friends and clients about Allied. I just got a chemical peel & my skin looks radiant thank to Jeanne! She really knows what she is doing. They have amazing deals that are unbeatable & change each week so look out for your favorite treatments! Ladies, I hate to give up my secret but this spa is a gem!1 Previous Review: Show all »

had my first treatment for a laser hair removal of my underarms, and i'm not going to lie, that was NOT comfy. sure, after an hour the pain finally subsided, so next time i'm definitely going to pre ice and know what to expect. the Nurse Houna was VERY good at distracting me and making me feel comfortable! i hesitantly( lol) look forward to my next treatment and no more hair! the lady who checked me in is awesome too, so easy to talk to and answered all of my neverending questions. 2 thumbs up!
oh ya, yay for living social deal! $99/6 treatments! -

Morgan Hill, CA
I recently bought a Groupon for this place (my third laser place I've tried) -- I liked the last one I was going to (4 Star like), but it was in Mountain View, and too far from Morgan Hill to stick with them. I'm glad I gave this place a try -- everything is clean, new, and impressive when you walk in. The girls at reception were super friendly and accommodating. The girl that did the procedure was also very friendly. It didn't hurt much at all. This is the 3rd type of laser machine I've experienced, and I'd have to say it was in the top 2 :) Maybe it will be my #1 after a couple more appointments. I rarely give a 5 star rating after one appointment, but I'd have to say I have ZERO complaints about my experience here, and I'm definitely going back!

Was pleasantly surprised by the beautiful lay out and fantastic staff at this new spot. I've seen many different people for treatments over the last three years but never found a favorite spa until now.
I'm so happy that I have one space now that offers multiple treatements and has an informative staff. I received a warm greeting, was surprised with the tranquil environment they offered and Tao took great care of me during my visit.
Additionally, I'm thrilled with all the compliments I'm getting on my skin these days. -

holy cow, i don't know who these guys are paying to write these good reviews, but it aint me!! from the time i walked into this place to the time i left, it was a "total nightmare" every person i came in contact with was rude, obnoxious, condescending, and at times just downright mean !!!!!
upon entering, i expected professional looking healthcare personnel. but,,,,what i saw in there reminded me of a trip to a cheap message parlor, staffed by women who placed make-up on like tammy faye baker !!!! it was horrifying!!!!!! when i saw the amount of cosmetics that the staff at this place used, i immediately became leery, wondering why such a cheap and sleezy appearance?
i had a three o:clock appointment, and had to wait over an hour to just past 4 o:clock. i inquired about the delay three times during that hour, and was essentially told that if i did'nt like it i could leave.
the experience became so volatile, i finally just asked for a refund, and wanted to get away from this place. the staff then told me that they would not issue a refund on any plan purchased through "groupon".
when i initially called i told them i had three small tattoos to remove and asked if this would take care of all three at that price. the person on the phone said that it would not be a problem, and to "just c'mon in,", and they would take care of me.
once i arrived, they told me that nobody in the office would have ever said anything like that. well i assure you they did.
i was made to feel inferior because i was using a groupon, and i heard one of the women say to the other 'don't expect a tip this is one of those groupon cheap bastards." i could not believe my ears!!!
overall, very bad experience. -

Purchased a deal from Living Social for laser hair removal treaments and I went to Allied Skin Institute for my first session on Tuesday. What I liked about this place:
-Spa is clean, nice, new, nice decor. Very welcoming feel.
-Girls at the front desk were friendly. Even another girl I saw in the back as I used the restroom was super friendly.
-Nurse that actually did the procedure was very sweet and informative as well.
-Was offerred snacks and drinks.
-Informative
Rescheduled my next appointment before I left. I am excited to attend my next session.
I would recommend this place for laser hair removal. I am planning on coming back for other areas I would like done due to my experience. -
Review from Lucky N.
San Francisco, CA
To update, went here on Saturday and my experience was average. Walked in and although there were 4 ladies at the desk, not a single one acknowledged me or said hi. I saw the clip board to sign in and I signed in and then a lady said hi and told me they'd be with me soon. I'm sure they were probably busy from all the Groupon customers they got, but being that this was my first experience and it was quite intimidating to laser my hair off, this just made my experience more intimidating.
A lady called me to come in and she walked me through the procedure. I felt very comfortable with her and we had nice conversation. The laser did hurt but it didn't last too long and she said it hurts less and less with each session. After the session, the lady just walked out of the room and didn't say anything. I sat there not knowing whether to wait for her or to come out. Eventually, I came out and she said bye to me. I went to the front to schedule another appt in 4 weeks and they were very accommodating. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the work and also how friendly everyone is when they do talk to you but was very confused and turned off that the communication level was off for a high quality salon where I was not greeted or properly instructed. I've been to several salons throughout the Bay Area and consistent, high caliber customer service is always the focus so although it's not imperative to me to be greeted every time, for my first visit, it was noticeable to me.
When I first made my appt to come in, I asked what I needed to do to prepare and the lady just made sure I haven't waxed or pulled out any underarm hair for the last month prior. But what would have been helpful is if she told me to shave real good right before the procedure because if you have a little hair, the laser will burn the hair, which hurts more. Also, if you're doing underarms, wear a tank top or you'll have to just take off your top and do the procedure in your bra. That would have been helpful information up front. I do highly recommend this place though! Can't wait for the day I don't have to shave again!1 Previous Review: Show all »

I too purchased a Groupon here for laser hair removal, small area. I choose my bikini line. I had started this at Sona Med Spa years ago and they went out of business. I had also in the last year been to another place and I have to say I loved my experience at Allied Skin Institute the best. To start everyone there is very nice. The facility is very clean, and pleasant. The laser (Soprano) they have is newer. You do not have to be nummed up for 30 minutes and still feel like you are being hit with "tiny rubber bands" that make your eyes water. They just apply the gel and it takes about 10 minutes total. The person who did it was very professional and personable. I will be back to finish up my sessions!

I chose this place based on the good reviews here. I have experienced this place to be a very unorganized, incommunicative, unaware, absent minded, inattentive, unfocused staff and Physician. I have never had any treatment there, I was going to, but based on their treatment of me and their business practices, I did not make it that far, this review is about the business practices, or lack there of, of the Institute and the way I was treated before I walked in the door.
I called for a gift certificate to be mailed to me for a birthday gift for a relative for almost $400. I left plenty of time, over a week and a half , to have this gift certificate sent to me locally after and I gave date to the staff member on the phone, I needed the gift sent to me by via US mail. I was assured I would have it, I was actually told there was plenty of time as it was going out in the mail "today". They became somewhat confused when I explained to put my name on the envelope as my relative lives with me and I didn't want it to be discovered. I explained this a few times for clarification. Then the fiasco started, I hadn't received the certificate in the mail four days later, so I called again. I was told it was going out "today". Why hadn't it been sent when I was promised it would? Then, two days before my relatives birthday I still had not received it in the mail. I called Allied again. I was told it was sent. Obviously they @ucked up, were absent minded, spaced it out or sent it out to the wrong address, So, I asked to have this letter fed-ex and over nighted as I was promised it would be here in time for me to give this gift to my relative in time for the birthday celebration. The woman on the phone assured me it would and sounded in a panic as she appeared to rush me off the phone, without re-confirming my name and address to make sure it was sent to the right house this time around. I called back to make sure she had the right information and address this time, and asked to be called when this letter was sent out, the woman at Institute I spoke to on phone said they were "working on" getting this gift certificate to me, now as we speak, and it was going to be overnighted to me, so it would arrive on next day, the day before my relatives birthday. OK. Then the next day comes, no gift certificate. I received a call from the woman at Institute this day saying that they didn't send my gift certificate out yet but they were going to overnight it.( Why I don't know, again I was lied to) today to be arrived tomorrow the day of my relatives birthday. Then a little while later, she called back to say that the Dr. is going to be in my neighborhood and will drop off the gift certificate personally. Ok. He did. But, when I opened the gift certificate, it had been made out to me, not to the person I am going to give the gift to and incidentally my name was spelled wrong. They are clearly effin' idiots with a Chronic case of Cranial Gluteus Maximus disease. I called to explain that I would not buy myself a gift certificate and I was told that the Dr. filled this out wrong. Clearly he doesn't communicate with staff. I had had enough and I called back and requested a refund and Amitra,(probably spelled wrong) the woman I spoke to, said she would "mail me out a check today" (Umm where have I heard that before?) or I would have to wait "a few weeks longer" if I wanted it refunded back to the credit card that I charged it on". WTF? Why? She said "I don't know what you want me to do, things do get lost in the mail" I had the Dr. hand deliver it to you personally". Hey no need to get snobby, your the one who $ucked up. I said I wanted it done right in the first place. If they hadn't screwed up a simple interaction like putting a letter in the mail" this wouldn't have happened. Forgive me but I didn't' believe she'd mail out my refund check "today" based on her incompetent history and the fiasco they created by the failed attempt at letter mailing my initial gift certificate. I said I will pick up the check on Sat. Amitra said she is not going to be there and she would rather "deal with me herself." I could not in good faith give my relative a gift for treatments based on how absent minded they are and how I clearly sent them into a tailspin just asking for a gift certificate to be mailed. I would run from this place.
Update: I picked up my refund check on Fri. The customer relations person apologized and gave me some free quality and what looked like expensive products for my negative experience with Allied. She stated we were now "friends' and I can call her anytime with questions. Although I don't consider friends people, I have met for 2 minutes, I do very much appreciate her professionalism and respect her and Allied for trying to rectify the problem, as best they could. That was very classy and decent and she's very good at her job. I changed my stars from 1 to 3 for this act.
Thank you.Comment from Ilbra A. of Allied Skin Institute 5/13/2012

I got a groupon for this place a couple of months ago and was a bit worried since I had no experience with the spa and haven't heard about it before. I finally went there and was very pleased. Everyone at the desk was so nice and the nurse - Kimberly was amazing and very professional. She did a great job. I ended up having also a microdermabrasion peel 2 weeks later as they have such great deals. This time I was treated by Jean D'arc which was also sweet and so professional.
The place is very nice, clean and esthetic. I felt very safe and relaxed. Everyone is nice and professional, the prices are reasonable, and they have great deals all the time. I love this place and will be back there for sure! -
Review from Lissa o.

This review is "in progress" so you should note to read from the bottom and I'll continue to update as I go :D
I just moved them up a star because I LOVE THE RESULTS. As I mention somewhere below, I'm a light skinned hispanic with dark hair and this so totally worked for me.
Visit #3 is next week but this is definitely this is working for me. I got a quote for another area from another place last week so next week I'm going to ask what they quote to see if it's close. I thought the other place was more than I wanted to pay so we will see.
Visit #2: The gals that work there are pretty great if you ask me. Very helpful and nice. And ok so I looked into prices and signed up to add my upper lip (which is where I'd done needle electrolysis, owwie). So as far as money goes... I am getting two areas (one groupon, one at 50% sale) for less than what I was quoted at another salon (doing laser) for just my upper lip. We're talking small and extra small areas but if this works out, I'm definitely down for trying bikini area. Anyway, this time I didn't put any make up on before I went in, I'm light skinned with dark hair and the pinching feeling was more intense this time but still not to the pain level of rubber band level they advertise but my hair is not dense. I was 15 minutes early and they were able to hustle me in and out and let me make my next appointment before the session and pay for the extra area super fast. You do have to sign off the treatment page every time you go in.
Tomorrow is treatment #2 and even though I'm a groupon user, they called today to remind me about my appointment tomorrow. I did notice diminished hair growth after the first session but I'm not willing to say it's a success yet. But realizing how freaking fast the treatments are, I think I'm going to look into other treatment prices tomorrow.
Visit 1: I bought a groupon after waiting and waiting for a place that other people rated 4 or above on yelp. Ok so I have done needle electrolysis, tons of waxing, etc. so I know about different options to remove hair. I thought their information sheets were great even if you walked in knowing nothing (they even say, you have alternatives to laser, you can wax, shave, etc). The staff was helpful and answered all my questions. Everyone was friendly. The tech that I got was super informative about random stuff I asked like had she tried Latisse (eye lashes) and for whom does Vaniqua (prescription temp hair removal) really work? I was in and out of there quickly (nothing like electrolysis) like 30 minutes on a weekday and doing a small area. The paperwork describes the pain level like snapping a rubber band but I would say for me it was more like a bra strap snap (not so bad) and it's worse in proportion to how much hair you have in the area. So like if you have super densely hairy legs, you'll feel more pain. But I was pre-conditioned by needle electrolysis which needs a prescription topical anesthetic to numb your skin applied for an HOUR before you even can start getting your hairs removed one-by-one which takes a long, long time. I'm excited to know how well this will actually works in comparison. And as someone mentioned, the office is very zen, relaxing decor, clean and efficient to get through all the steps. If all goes well, I'd like to stick with this office to do more areas. -

I bought the Botox Groupon deal and I thought for sure I was going to have to wait. I was scheduled in the for the next day! My visit was this past Saturday and I plan to go back! They offer other great services, of which I ended up buying and got the treatment that very same day. It's really clean, the staff is very professional and are really nice. All my questions were answered (I worked with Tao) felt very at ease. Totally recommend! I am very pleased! :)

I bought Groupon for botox yesterday. I was able to get in today! Everyone in the clinic is so friendly and accommodating, and the atmosphere is beautiful and CLEAN! The NP who administered my injections has a very gentle hand! I normally ave to be numbed before doing these, but not today! I have only been to one other medical spa, but I really rate this one high because of their professionalism and presentation! Awesome! I will be back!!

I had the Groupon offer for Botox and made an appointment for that week with no problems. Met with Dr.Petros and he was great. I didn't have to wait long at all for my appointment and when I met with him he talked and showed me where he thinks I need the injections. I also talked to him about how a couple times with dysport my eyebrows get pushed down and he explained why that probably happened (where they injected) and that he would inject differently to ensure that doesn't happen. He was awesome and cute too. :)

It was my first time receiving laser hair removal. I did not know what to expect, but the staff made me feel very comfortable and at ease. She gave an introduction about the treatment, what to expect during and after the treatment. She answered all my questions before she started zapping. It was a very short procedure and there was no discomfort afterwards. I look forward to my next treatment and can't wait to see results.
