Do NOT use this company for moving or storage if you have anything you want to arrive in its original condition! My moving and storage experience with these guys was an absolute nightmare. The estimator and salesperson was so professional and assuring, I did not do the homework I should have....I trusted his advice and the company's capabilities completely. What a mistake!
First of all, the company completely shattered the legs off three pieces in an antique dining set that has been in my family for generations, and which are at least 200 years old. The very same furniture had been moved across the country 4 times prior, as recently as 5 years ago, with not so much as a scratch, but Allied manage to do an enormous amount of damage when they gave it a try. Now that I have filed a claim for the $2,000 in damage, after waiting a month for them to respond, they are denying any responsibility, appearing to rely on loopholes in consumer protection laws.
The other thing they do that you have to really watch out for, is they get rushed and they don't follow proper procedure for unloading. They do not check each item number when the items are brought into the house, to make sure all items have arrived. They unload all day and THEN ask you to sign off that all items have been received, when in fact nothing has been verified or counted.
Ultimately, the reason you hire expensive movers from a big company is because you think they are more professional and they will protect your belongings. Although all of my belongings arrived (I think!), they were definitely not all in one piece. I was shocked by the amount of damage that was done, and then even more amazed at the lack of responsibility that the company took for the damage, especially when I paid them $15,000!!! I guess they would rather lose customers than profits.
