The rec center has tons of free or low-cost programs for kids, seniors, and the general populace.  For instance, it's right next to the middle school, so they offer free drop-in things for the kids to theoretically keep them out of trouble.  There are also volleyball and basketball leagues, dog agility people, those folks who dress up in armor and battle, and probably many more I don't know about.

I am very disapointed in the AG Rec.  It all began when they trimmed back all the bushes the first time like 15 years ago.  I don't care that homeless people lived in them. They were great for hide & seek and make outs and other gibberrish.

Then you cut them back even more.  It isn't like San Diego is mostly devoid of vegetation.  No no.  You, City of San Diego, need to make it look like the communist took over and discovered  that bushes cause cancer.

Oh well.  I have my memories, like when Kaiya and I were wrestling and I thought we were going to get busy and then she started punching me.  Luckily, the climbing trees are still there, and I hope some kid has as much fun as I did in those.

The fields are still there, and last time I went, Skunk Hollow had been converted from Decomposed Granite to grass, so baseball practice can be less painful.

Check out the pool across the street.  Also, if you go west along Greenbriar, you can find a crest of a hill that is fun to jump cars off of, Bullet style.  There is a stop sign there now, but check for cops, drive fast, and pray.  For bonus points, do it in a pre 73 VW van, like when my dad almost ran over Matt, who was on my all star team.
