Ive tried Physical therapy for my chronic back pain - its good but not good enough for me.
I dont regret going to Dr Balch, at first i was like Whoaaa!! , its like permissive wrestling w/o inflicting pain of course ..but the key to liking the therapy is just to let yourself go.. stay as limp as u can be as he twists your neck, clicks ur back, twists ur entire body.
its good to read first about it so u will know what to expect. If u want deep thai massage, deep pressure and streeeetching like yoga -- then this is the therapy for you. TENS usually before every treatment and at times , if the doctor recommends , an hour massage -- and if u have insurance, u just have to pay for ur co payment . in my case $5. =)
Come in pain, leave twisted yet happy. -

Wow, these doctors know their wellness techniques. I have been suffering from neck and lower black pain for a long time. After just a few sessions, I feel fantastic. I now have a regular standing meeting every Wednesday.

I've been coming here since for 10 years. They have always accommodated my last minute request for appointments because I was in pain. I love that!
Dr. Isero is great and I feel great as a result of regular chiropractic treatments in conjunction with a massage every once in a while. What could be better proof about how good a place is than to continue being a customer for over 10 years? Enough said. -

One hour.
That's all we had to deal with, and in reality, it wasn't even really that long. What I mean is that these folks are literally open for chiropractic services for one hour on Saturdays from 9am to 10am. Could seem a little silly if you think about it, but most chiros aren't even open at all on Saturday. So when my wife was in terrible pain this morning, it was off to Yelp on my iPhone to do a search on "chiropractors saturday". Pickings were thin, but at the top of the search results was Alliance Chiropractic. After a call to them and a call back, we rushed over, hoping we could be given enough time for my wife to receive a treatment.
We certainly were. Dr. Balch was really great and helpful. He could see how much pain that my wife was in and got right to work. As of tonight, she is still hurting, however after his treatment and subsequent icing and rest, she has improved. Another appointment is scheduled for Monday.
Dr. Balch is not going to be our regular chiropractor as we already have one that we go to in Foster City (Dr. Colgin), however, we are grateful to him for having that space for us open today so that my wife could find some relief. I highly recommend Alliance Chiropractic and Dr. Dennis Balch to anybody who seeks chiropractic treatment. The receptionist at the front desk (a Russian lady) could have been a bit kinder and more patient with us, but overall our experience here was fantastic.Listed in: Great Non-Restaurants

I met Dr. Jaindial at a farmer market in Burlingame back in July. We became great friends since then as we shared his knowledge of chiropractic with me in the last four months.
Let's begin with the fact that I have bad postures. I've never learned to have good posture, and being a dental hygienist is just adding insult to injury. I sit all day and crank my neck and twist my body in every possible way just so I can get into the nukes and cranny inside peoples' mouths. Dr. Jandial understands all this and treats me gently to guide me back into good spinal health. He also suggests exercises for maintenance.
The staff are also great. No matter who is sitting at front desk (usually Cindy), she always greet you with a smile. They are polite and never give you any problem with scheduling. They are also very upfront and clear with your insurance and co-pays.
I would definitely recommend AC. -

If you don't know what Mastitis is, you can skip this review.
If you do know what it is, and more so if you've had it or if you're aching with it now, I'm dedicating this review to you.
Two months into breastfeeding, I came down with a fever of 103+ and suffered excruciating pain in my rock-hard breast. My lactation consultant recommended that I go see Dr. Isero and ask for his "ultrasound treatment." With half curiosity and half doubt, I went the next day and again on the following day. (They are really good at squeezing you in as needed.)
The staff was very helpful, especially when it came down to sorting out insurance, and they were open to having a stroller and a cranky baby around. (Even without insurance, it's very affordable.)
Promptly after being escorted into a room, I was greeted by Dr. Isero. He first sat down for consultation and made me feel at ease. (And no, he didn't mind the baby crying either.) The treatment lasted for 15-30 minutes, during which he applied the ultrasound stick over my breast. Unlike heat packs and warm running water (aka home remedies), the ultrasound heat waves penetrate very deep into the body, therefore, effectively unclogging the ducts.
WOW. It felt great. This two-day treatment cured my mastitis like magic.
SUM: Got a stubborn mastitis? You might want to give them a call.Listed in: Our Life Savers

This was where I got my first massage and Steve set my standard on what a massage should be.
I would say he is a master of what he does. He can get to the pressure that is right for you if you let him know to add or subtract pressure. And I say this because I got a massage today elsewhere and it was nowhere close to Steve's and it was a bit more expensive.
He gives you the full hour and works on the areas you want. I had a full hour of just the upper back, which still didn't seem quite enough. Yes I'm greedy.
Note: I thought parking would be super easy, but the garage is full and the most of the street parking outside is 1 hour spots.Comment from Eric I. of Alliance Chiropractic 9/21/2011

I pinched a nerve in my lower back. I cursed the Gods, felt guilty, then promised that I would exercise regularly (ok, at least stretch more) as soon as I get better.
Alliance (Dr. Balch and staff) was that God-sent fixer upper for me. Got the electrical muscle stimulation and adjustments. Just twice, and I was back to normal! -

I can only comment on the massage services but I just need to say that Steve O'Neill has got to be the best massage therapist EVER. I came to him on a Groupon or Living Social deal (can't remember which one) with a few bad massage experiences in my past. I was a bit hesistant to try again but I knew if I found someone good it would be life changing. He is attentive to areas you want to focus on and constantly checks on your comfortability. He is absolutely great.

I've never had chiro wok before coming to Alliance but so far so good. I see Dr. Balch and in just the few weeks I've been visiting him; my back feels better, the back pain is subsiding, and I feel I have better posture while sitting at my desk.
Everyone in the office is very nice and professional.
My ins. covers everything so I'm super stoked that I have no out of pocket expenses. -

Booked an appointment here because of a Living Social Deal I bought. Glad I did. Steve O'Neil was my masseur and it was one of the best massages I've had. I gave the place 4 out of 5 stars because the walls are thin and I could hear the conversation next door the entire time (1 hour of next door conversation), which was distracting. But Steve is 5 stars for sure. The room was perfectly lit and kept to good temperature. Nice, relaxing music in the background. Steve has been in the line of work for 20+ years and I can tell. Great massage! I have many injuries and muscle tightness that he was really able to work on these. I felt much better leaving than I did stepping into the building. Thanks so much Steve!

I have been seeing Dr. Dennis Balch for 4 1/2 years. I started seeing him to alleviate sciatica during both of my pregnancies. He helped to alleviate the terrible pain that I suffered and educated me on exercises that I could do at home to cope with the pain. I see him once a month to keep my body in alignment and I can tell you that if I don't go, my body tells me that it's time to go back in!

This place was great, and now it's awesome. The kooky receptionist is gone, and has been replaced with the very capable, very pleasant Jenn (who is also a reiki master!).
They also brought on Maryanne, who is one of the best masseuses I have ever experienced. (Forget you read this if it means I have to compete with you for Saturday appointments.)
And, ultimately, Lisa and Dr. Isero still rock. Lisa keeps everything with the insurance companies running smoothly (which we all know is no small feat) and is the epitome of organized. And I can't recommend Dr. Isero highly enough. I have much respect for his concern for true healthfulness (not meds or stop-gap measures) and his positivity. He also must be good to get me to trust him with cracking my neck during adjustments. Oy!1 Previous Review: Show all »

My sister told me about Dr. Balch and at first I resisted coming here because all my doctors said no to to chiropractors. I have been in so much pain that it was all I could deal with - after seeing Dr. Balch and in getting adjusted and doing decompression therapy I am already feeling human again! I definitely will be continuing treatment! I wish I had listened to my sister sooner!

I have reviewed, Yelp reviews in the past, and found them to be very helpfull. So I have decided to write my first review and I'm sure I will be writing more. I have been seeing Dr. Balch off and on for the past two years now, I mostly see him know for maintenance, for things when I strain my back, shoulder etc. and its truly amazing, because when I do feel, I have strained something, I would see Dr. Balch, just hoping that I would be relieved of, my aches and pain, and everytime, I come out of his office, I am truly amazed, of how effective Dr. Balch's adjustments, are. I am lucky to have a great Chiropractor, that keeps me going!!!

Alliance chiropractic is an excellent, professional, friendly practice. I've been getting regular adjustments from Dr. Balch and massage therapy sessions from Steve for over a year now. I am very happy with the results and expertise provided. The costs are very reasonable, especially when you bundle an adjustment with a massage. I highly recommend this business!

I had a bulged disk in my lower back causing my sciatic nerve to be pinched. The pain was excruciating from my lower back all the way down to my left foot... it hurt to walk, stand, or sit. My regular doc prescribed muscle relaxers which didn't help, so she wanted to try different meds. I didn't want to mask the problem with meds, I wanted to fix it, so a co-worker referred me to see Dr. Balch at Alliance Chiropractic.
I was feeling better with each visit and now I have no more sciatic pain! I love love love Dr. Balch! He is super skilled and really friendly. His staff is also very nice and make the office a welcoming environment. They are flexible with my schedule and even accommodated me by quickly squeezing me in when I forgot my appointment. I totally recommended Alliance Chiropractic, you won't regret it! :) -

After visiting Alliance Chiropratic, I must say this place is run very professionally. Dr. Balch was very honest and was genuinely trying to help me get rid of my back pain. He was very attentive when I was explaining to him what hurts and when. He wasnt just trying to make money and move on. He really does care for your good health. There isnt too many chiropractors that I can say are like that. Strongly recommend this place for there honest assessments and professional service. Thanks Again Dr. Balch!!

Recurrent neck pain is truly a pain in the neck! I was also getting monthly deep tissue massages at Saine Saine which I won't give up as I love that place. However, the pain would always come back. My doc threw out the idea of seeing a chiropractor but I couldn't imagine someone messing with my neck! What if I get paralyzed!
Well, I called Dr Balch's office and got in on the same day. He took an xray and actually showed me why I have pain. The 1st two vertebrae are practically dislocated from the last 3. It must be from multiple trauma with cumulative damage. He walked me through the philosophy of chiropractic work and is a very gentle guy with excellent bedside manner.
Now, I'm actually looking forward to getting my neck cracked. It doesn't hurt with his expertise.
He also hooks me up to these muscle stimulators with nice, relaxing heat.
It's eased the pain and hopefully after several more visits, I'll be pain free! -

Dr. Balch is wonderful. I've had back pain for a while and he always manages to crack it. They use the muscle stimulation which is very relaxing and helps with the tension. I've also gotten deep tissue massages there with Steve, which are great. It's nice to be able to do everything all at once. Easy to get appointments and parking is great!
Great practice, I highly recommend it.
Can't rate the pricing, as my insurance pays for it. -

It's a miracle! I strained my neck giving birth to my 9pd son. I was in so much pain until a specialist recomended Dr. Isero. He took me the same day I called and got me on my feet to take care of my son. Also staff was great in helping me work with my insurance.

Just like one of the other reviews, I came in contact with Dr. Isero through a lactation consultant back in 2007 I was suffering from Mastitis, I went to see him but reluctant to the outcome, to my surprise I felt such level of relief from the first visit .
I knew this facility and more important Dr. Isero was genuine about caring and sympathizing with the patients needs, I then switch to him for my lower back care, I been going to his office for the last 3 years on a monthly basis I feel great every time I have treatment, the staff is very helpful, friendly.

First class treatment from Dr. Isero! He takes time with his patients/clients, who he treats more like friends. He has a wealth of information about kids activities, and that has been a GOD SEND with us being new to CA!! He's very good at doing treatments while discussing issues or giving recommendations!

I've known Dr. Isero for 20 years. He's a great chiropractor because he has good people skills, he really listens to his patients and their needs/concerns, and he has a sports-like approach to chiropractic. I appreciate that he works with his patients only as long as they need his help - many chiropractors just keep wanting you to return again and again. Both my husband and myself have seen him for years for various situations, from sciatica problems to a sprained neck.
