If there is better pizza in southern New Hampshire, I haven't found it.
Authentic New York-style pizza, with outstanding crust. The 20-inch pizza is a great, great value.
Chestnut Street on this block is a bit dodgy; lock your car before going into the restaurant.
Seating is very limited, this is mostly a take-out place. -

See on here a lot of glowing reviews, but thought their pizza was just average. Like my pizza a little more crispy than they serve. Pizza was also semi cold when delivered. Sauce was very good though. Would I order again? Sure, but I won't exactly be rushing back.

Put on your bullet proof vest and come on down to Alley Cat!
The parking is atrocious (2 spots by my calculation), the traffic off of Bridge Street is always a pain, the surrounding neighborhood is absolutely terrifying, and the wait often sucks.
So, onto the pizza: it's the best in NH, and here's why: consistent thin crust perfection; not too much cheese; sauce is applied conservatively and beautifully even. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this plain pizza pie. I recommend not compromising it with too many toppings, or any toppings for that matter. It's pure bliss as is.
I wish that it was relocated two blocks away in any direction from where it's currently situated, but I don't have a genie.
Secret code while ordering:
Well done: they will keep the pizza in a bit longer than usual which will allow that cheese and crust to caramelize just a bit more. Highly recommended.
Double cut: instead of cutting your pie into 8 slices, they will slice it up into 16. This is highly preferential when order the much heralded 20 incher. However, they won't do it on pies with a bunch of toppings for structural purposes.
Party cut: they will cut it into squares as opposed to triangular slices. Why? Because it's fun to mix it up sometimes, yo. -

Excellent pizza and the staff was very nice.
Alley Cat's extra large pizzas are huge (there website says they are 22" across). The cheese pizza was great and "The Attack Cat," their meat lovers pizza was covered in pepperoni, sausage, hamburg, ham and bacon. The only downside was the pizza box was so large it didn't fit in our fridge...but that is a small price to pay for good pizza.
Overall great value for the price. Definitely buying from them again. -

BEST PIZZA IN MANCHESTER! I've been having their pizza basically since I was three years old. Whenever my family is ordering pizza it never crosses our minds of getting it from a different pizzeria. The pizza's are big and are pretty cheap. I highly recommend Alley Cat!

I have never been to the Alley Cat so I cannot say anything about the atmosphere of the small place or the prices, however, I have had the pizza before.
The slices are HUGE which is nice because you don't have to eat a lot. I've had cheese, veggie, and spinach and feta pizza and they were all really good. Not too much topping but not too little.
I will definitely order pizza from this place in the future. -

I thought the pizza was OKAY but as a fellow northern NJ native, I thought calling this NY Style pizza was a huge stretch!
I like thin crust pizza, but this pizza was so think, floppy, and undercooked that folding it in half barely did the trick. We were dining in and had to take the pizza home after a slice in hopes that it would firm up a bit and get a little crispier.
I'm sure this is the best pizza in the area, but I was not very impressed with the crust, which is supposed to be the star of the show with NY style pizza. There was no crisp or crunch to it.
We may be back, and I hope the pizza is better next time. -

waited an hour and 8 minutes for 2 pizzas. when i finally got them they were cold. paid $32 (with 1 of the pizzas being $8 off because of a coupon), i was told by the delivery driver that he'd have whoever is in charge call me. never happened. i brought a slice down to my friends mother downstairs pretty much as soon as the pizzas arrived and she thought we'd been sitting upstairs eating.
the pizzas were ok at best, they mite have been good if they were hot and fresh, like i said they were pretty cold and if i hadn't already paid half on my card i simply would have sent them back.
i didn't tip the driver and i'm not worried about it, since i have no intentions of ordering from them again. -

I've heard a lot of good things about this place and it's not too far from where I live, but it took me 2 years and a terrible hankering for pizza to venture out to get a pizza from here.
I decided on the El Gato, which is basically Mexican pizza, I guess is the way to describe it. It is topped with corn chips, which makes me giggle. I like anything topped with corn chips. And olives. And hamburg. It had too much onions on it, but otherwise, very delicious.
Affordable, tasty, convenient. I will definitely come back here and try some of the other signature pizzas soon. -

Alley Cat has the best pizza in the area, the slices are big and the crust is NY style (a little thicker and less crispy than New Haven style.
They have a great lunch special, I think it is 2 slices and a drink for $5. The only complaint I have is that they only have a couple different kind of slices to choose from during lunch. -
Review from Ian W.
Good thin crust pizza, especially the XX-Large 20" pizzas. The pizza dough is hand stretched into a 20" pie. The crust towards the center of the pizza can be soggy and greasy from the sauce, cheese & toppings like a NY style pizza, but the overall taste is pretty good.
Alley Cat offers pizza by the slice or whole pie, salads, subs, Italian calzones (with ricotta), S'mores Pizza, and lunch specials.
Alley Cat is geared more towards delivery and takeout. Inside the small space, there is an order counter and four small tables & seats for dining in (or waiting) and a cooler with Coca Cola bottled beverages.Listed in: Favorite Pizza in New England

The 20 inch pizza is awesomely huge. As I sat in the small seating area waiting for the pizza, I realized that it would probably be the size of the table. And it was.
The pizza was very tasty. Perfect crust to topping ratio. The only thing I would say negatively is that they only have 20 oz drinks... no fountain. I like fountain drinks with ice to accompany the fresh roof-of-mouth-burning cheesy pizza.
The value is spectacular. I am going to get at least 3 meals (probably 4) out of a $16 pizza. Looking forward to trying more of their creations. Will probably do take-out next time. Seating is a bit crowded when you're sharing the table with a table-sized pizza!! -

Let's preface this by saying Alley Cat is located in the culinary vacuum that is Manchester NH. Pizza here is of the typical (Enter Town Name Here) House of Pizza style-- white cheddar, panned and greasy as all git out.
With that in mind, Alley Cat makes a really good pizza. The sauce is of high quality- just sweet enough. Crust was really good. It takes some creative license to call it "NY Style"(maybe Rochester NY) but it's probably the best pizza you can get in NH. -

Best pizza in town. Personal favorite of mine is the Straycat pizza!

This pizza is amazing. The Menu is clever with all the pizzas are puns based on cats. When I went to alley cat with some friends we ordered the White Cat. The white cat is Olive oil, garlic & oregano on a thin crust. The slices were huge and the price was good. A large pizza is 13.29. Alley cat pizzeria is one of my favorite pizza places in Manchester along with Portland Pie Co and 900 Degrees.

Have been back to make certain the first few times were not a fluke. They weren't. The sauce and the dough are the stars here. The sauce is light, uncooked, and has small chunks of tomato. The dough, is chewy and crispy in all the right places with a light dusting of cornmeal on the bottom. Most importantly, the dough is thin where it needs to be and thick along the edges; but, not too thick. Unlike Sal's Pizza where they weight their pizza down with globs and globs of dough, the Alley Cat's dough proportions is perfect. I haven't tried the sandwiches here yet because I'm too busy loving the pizza.

New York Style Pizza.
For everyday pizza Alley Cat is great. Thin crust, tangy sauce and good toppings. The portions are good for the price too, an XXL is over 20 in and only $11. One of my favorites is their El Gato specialty pizza, hamburg, onions, black olives, green peppers, tomatoes, hots, and corn chips. Sounds crazy but its a damn tasty pizza. -

Probably the best Pizza you'll find in Southern NH. I used to walk down to Alley Cat every Friday afternoon after school for a slice before our football games. It really is the best bang for your buck as far as pizza goes in this city.

This is a really cool pizza place with a funky feel to it. They have some a lot of variety in both toppings and size.
Would have given it 5 stars but recently had the Aztec pizza (buffalo chicken pizza) and it wasn't very hot and I didn't get much of the buffalo flavor. It was basically a regular pizza with buffalo chicken on it. Would have been nice to have some more buffalo sauce on the pizza itself.
Kudos to them for even having this on the menu though cause most places don't.
All that being said, this is still the go-to pizza place in Manchester (especially if you're downtown). -

Best pizza in southern NH, although thats not that hard to do around here.
I just wish this place had a little nicer and larger dinning room since its a 20 min drive to and from this place the pizza is usually luke-warm by the time i get it home. -

I've been coming here again, and again for a good portion of my life. This is some of my favorite pizza hands down, outside of the stuff I had in New York, and Chicago. But let's not really get into that.
The pizza offers creative as well as some classic combinations. I personally will always love a good Hawaiian and theirs here does not disappoint, not to mention their bread-sticks (cat nips) are affordable and delicious. -
Review from Scott Y.
Alley Cat makes an OK pizza, and by New Hampshire standards, OK pizza is saying a lot. In my view, most other Manchester pizza places serve inedible pizza.

I moved here from New York, and this is the first pizza place I've found that I really enjoy! Pizzas are big, thin crust, and good, their options are fun and taste great, and after ordering to my office a few times the owner knows me by name. Nice to feel like you're part of "the regular gang," especially when you're an out-of-towner! Highly recommend.

Alley Cat makes a very decent thin crust pizza in downtown Manchester. They have a good selection of specialty pies too. They also sell slices and are open fairly late so I find myself heading there for late night snacks. The prices are also pretty reasonable, two slices of cheese ran me less than $4.

It is hard for people in New England to love New York City. I understand the hatred for the Yankees but it is hard to say bad things about NY style pizza. Alley Cat is the best thin crust NY type pizza in the area. It is not a place to linger but perfect for take out on a football Sunday.

I order from Alley Cat every Friday night...and every week, I am not disappointed. The pizza is huge, the crust is hand-tossed, and the girls working behind the counter give you something to look at while you pay for your pizza! :) But in all seriousness, Alley Cat really has the best pizza in the Manchester area. There are some pizzerias in the area that come close to the style of pizza at Alley Cat, but they can't match it. Also, Alley Cat stands tall over the typical generic New England style pizza that is prevalent at many pizza parlors in the area. I often wonder why some people do not like their pizza? Have these "haters" never had good pizza before, having grown up on the cookie-cutter New England style pizza? I am confused...so take my advice, go for Alley Cat...meow!

I love it! Great pizza, friendly employees, good price (always has coupons). The ingredients are fresh and tasty, the dough is thin but with good consistency. I find myself thinking about this pizza more than I should! Once have I had a pie that was mushy in the middle, uncooked was my guess, but still foldable!

Alley Cat is my favorite pizza in the Manchester area. We order pizza weekly from here and I have never been disappointed. Plus, we do like the option of the XL pizza as well to feed a family. Friendly service.

Best pizza in Manchester, without a doubt. Reasonably priced for what you're getting, staff have always been friendly to me, and their specialty pizzas are second to none in these parts.

This is a very nice thin crust pizza, with diced tomatoes in the sauce.
They consider it "New York Style", which it's really not (it's a bit too sauce heavy to be an authentic NY style pizza), but for the area, the quality is spectacular -- the best pizza I'm aware of in a 30 mile radius. -

I love this pizza. I go out of the way to do take out here. The names of the pizzas crack me up, with some unusual but tasty varities. Staff is friendly and is flexible with my requsts. Love it.

I don't give out 5-stars often, but this is very, very good pizza. That and the fact that they delivered SELTZER! is all I need to go 5-stars. Well, that and I had a competitor's pie the previous night and it was as highly rated here on these pages but was a goopy, sloppy mess.

Great Pizza, great personalities, great selection. Their pizzas come in sizes from managable to ENORMOUS and they all taste fantastic. The dough is hand-tossed and their sauce is delicious. I recommend the fat cat (BBQ chicken). The chicken isn't that cubed, processed chicken, but it's real chicken breast shredded off with a fork. Their service is friendly both within the restaurant and for delivery. I don't get take out pizza from anywhere else.

Worcester, MA
Very, very acceptable thin crust NY style pizza. Best I've had in Manchester since relocating from greater Boston months ago. If you're looking for a take-out quality pizza, i think this about as good as it gets in the area. The crust from the ovens is just right. The edges are just doughy enough. The sauce is about what you would expect, simple, light, rather eneventful, but overall is quite good and worth the trip. I would order "kight on the sauce, and well done" in order to avoid the predictable "limp".
