Review from Professor H.

This is a beautiful space full of both used an new books. The staff is warm and helpful and they are book lovers. I was looking for a book about fabrics and then ended up buying 3 books about completely different things. Beware - you will find amazing things here that you may feel like adopting and taking home. The space has a creative vibe - lots of art and performances and readings. Also they sell books by local authors and they employ local authors. If that's something you're into. The local phenomenon, I mean.
Alley Cat is delightful like a shady pool of books books books. -

I think this bookstore is phenomenal. The best thing about it, by far, is the selection. The owners do a great job selecting books, and so even though it's small it has more to choose from than I'll ever have tome to read. What's even better, when browsing I've found extremely few books I disliked - so if I'm browsing and something looks interesting I can trust the owners that it probably is!
Also a cute selection of greeting cards and journals/notebooks. They take trade-ins. -

OK, I'm back with the update. I like this place a whole lot.
It's big and spacious and well-organized with juicy sections in every topic one could hope for, including a hearty helping of libros en espanol and a whole bookcase devoted to NYRB titles. I found a nifty used book in fine condition for 5 bucks and had a lively conversation with the dapper fellow behind the counter.
I'll definately be "investigating" this place on a regular basis!Listed in: Within Walking Distance, Books! Right now!

Yes, it is still pretty new (only been there 6 weeks at this point) but the space is great (and there's construction going on in the back), and it has a nice vibe to it: spacious, nice selection of books, graphics, magazines. Looking forward to see how it develops in the next few months.

A new independent book store opening in the Mission??? Awesome! Great selection of books and magazines with a very large space in the back that looks like it could hold some large meetings, perhaps book talks?

A really nice combo of new and used books, with a layout that invites exploration and discovery. As an added bonus, they had Michael Roman t-shirts for $20, which is a crazy deal. The clerk was very helpful and easy-going. There are even kids books in the back.

Went in looking for a title and the employee knew exactly where to find it. Will be coming here often, good to see a new local bookstore open in the Mission.
