What a guy! What a service!
So i recently acquired a pretty fine high end time piece. The watch cost a fortune so i figured i would buy a replica of it to wear as my beater.
Unfortunately, the replica had an issue where it would gain 5 mins not matter how you set the time. Obviously, something was wrong with the movement and needed adjustment.
I figured any jeweler or watch repair that dealt with high end movements can fix it. I went to a few jewelry shops but they wanted some outrageous sums to check it out.
One even mentioned that it needed an "overall" or complete service. That vendor said he would be happy to fix it at $350. $350!! Highway robbery to adjust a few screws. (The guy had NO clue it was a replica and even told me the watch is so high end that it requires that "kind" of service. And by the way, the replica itself cost less than $200. $350 to service a $200 watch! WTH!!!)
I found Allen's shop by Yelp (of course!!) and went to him. One look with a louper and he knew what the issue was. He even figured out it was a replica with one look. He told me to go to lunch and when i came back, it would be done. I asked him about cost... he said "Let me check it out, if it's just something simple... no big deal. I think i know what the problem is."
So after lunch, i walk back in and wouldn't ya know it? Done! He found a handspring that went sideways and asked if the replica had been knocked against something? Indeed, it had.
The charge for this service - FIFTEEN bucks! $15, that's right!! He said the only reason he even charged me was because he had to put it on the machine to verify everything else was in order and it was!
What honesty and great service! I will definately recommend anyone to Allen's service and you can bet ALL my gens / reps and my family's watches will be serviced here from now on!
5 stars is more than highly deserved for the fairness, quick turn around and honesty. -

*Rating is for their watch repair services*
This is one of those gems that makes you want to keep your own little secret, but it would be a shame to deprive you good folks of their immaculate service... The staff was wonderful and extremely knowledgeable. Had a watch polished and when I was informed it would take about a week and half, the owner was kind enough to offer a loaner watch... who does that??? That's what you call EXCELLENT customer service. I received my watch on the day that he said it would be ready, which in most cases if you've ever had a higher end watch repaired or polished is a RARITY. The work done was amazing! Almost makes me not watch to wear my watch since I'm afraid I will scratch it up again.
The quality and workmanship is A+ level, the price? well... let's just say... the prices are so low that make you wanna slap your momma! -

Had to get the Movado, Longines, and Omega fixed...
after six short years of searching to find a watch repair shop for the Longines, I stumbled on Allen's Watch Clock Service. The rave reviews were spot on. This man is a true professional, both in service, and in work. Batteries, Stems, Clasps all fixed within an hour of wait time. Even better, the price was reasonable; actually, cheaper than the quotes I got from other local watch repair shops. This man knows what he's doing. -

Allen's Watch and Clock Repair is a classic old-school repair place that you don't see so much of anymore. I took my Nelson clock in to be repaired. I told him there was no hurry...take your time. He called me a few hours later...it was done.
The guy has been doing this forever. He has no idea what Yelp is (I mentioned it was how I found his shop), and seems to not care. He's just about fixing timekeeping devices. What a great place! -

Allen is excellent, bought a watch on http://Amazon.com and wanted to cut the links on the watch to have it fitted for my wrist. His fee is only $5 and that's an outstanding price! :)

So nice, so fast. They changed the battery in my watch and took a link out while I waited, and they didn't try to overcharge me for. Very friendly service, and there is always parking right out front, so it's fast in, fast out.

My boyfriend needed his battery changed on his $300 Nixon Delta snowboarding watch, which is a pretty complicated watch because of all the digital gadgets on it. I had the battery changed on a prior model like this one (Nixon replaced it) at one of the mall shops a couple of years back, and I know a couple of the mall kiosks wouldn't touch it...and the one place I did take it to did not seal it right and fogged up shortly after. Since this was a brand-new replacement from Nixon a year ago, I didn't want to make the same mistake as the previous one and have this one fog up due to incorrect battery change and sealing. I looked on Yelp for a few watch places in the West Valley since I was visiting my parents in Woodland Hills, and came across Norman M's Yelp review.
All I can say is Mirna and Allen are the real deal. They are very friendly with great customer service. They are very honest with you and will tell you about what they can and cannot do, and give you an assessment on price. When you walk in, all of their certificates from various watch companies are hanging on the wall that they have completed the certified courses. Just from that, you can tell they are very proud to be doing what they do and are true timepiece aficionados. They have been doing this since 1961, and the entire family are watch makers/repairers. If there is something they cannot do, they will gladly give you advice as to places where you can go.
I have been here 3 times- the first time was in December 2010 to get my bf's Nixon battery replaced. I then came back there a few weeks ago to get a link removed from my bf's titanium bracelet that was very difficult to remove. We had actually bought this bracelet in December 2009, and it had been sitting in the box because we took it to a few jewelers in the East Valley (where we live), and they did not have the tools or knowledge to remove the extra links. I took it to Mirna and she removed it in 5 minutes! I came back here a 3rd time last week because after talking to Mirna, I found out that she was an authorized dealer on Citizen watches among other brands. She took the time to show us some time pieces after she asked us questions on what styles we like and were looking, and we bought a brand new Citizen chronograph titanium watch at a great price. So not only are the prices for watch and jewelry repair excellent, but so are the prices for the watches. (*Note: Watches are not on display, so you have to ask!) They were selling jars of jewelry cleaner, and they were very honest about what I should and shouldn't use it on and whether or not I really needed it. Something as simple as that showed me they weren't out to make a quick buck like some place are. They are not so much concerned with the sale and would prefer for to treat you right and make sure you are happy with your decision.
This is a true Mom-and-Pop business where they pride themselves on their customer service and their knowledge. Whether you own a $5000, $500, or $50 watch, this is really the best place to take it. They were based in Thousand Oaks a few years ago, and to this day they still have many customers who come from as far as Camarillo to get their watches serviced. That really says something when you have loyal customers who are willing to make the drive, especially with these high gas prices. If you have a very expensive watch, definitely trust this place to take care of you and your timepiece. -

I purchased a white ceramic Burberry watch and needed to get it resized. My bf and I dropped it off here on a Saturday afternoon. A lady was there and she said that since the links weren't held together with standard pins, we'd have to wait until Monday (the watch repair guy had already left for the day). My bf picked it up on Monday and everything was as it should be. No chipping or scratches on the ceramic and the pins and links that were removed were in a little baggie. It cost $10, I believe the place at the mall is around $15.

I had Allen service one of my clients wristwatches recently. A Rolex Submariner. Previously I have used several watch repair services in downtown L.A.. No need to go downtown now! Finding a watch repair service that can pressure test your watch is really important, Allen can. He replaced the seal and did an over haul on the movement. The price was fair and it was ready in a few days. Give Allen and Myrna a call to have your watch serviced.

These folks are fantastic, the face of my watch was cloudy due to getting it in water, they fixed it while I waited and there was no charge. Wonderful experience, and I would go back and highly recommend them to anyone.
