Being treated well when you're 24, uninsured, and come in complaining about pain is invaluable. I wasn't treated like a drug addict, instead I was treated with respect.
The nurses on the surgical floor were all awesome and the ER doctor that I initially saw was very kind as well. Out of the insane number of people I saw during my few days there only one was a grouch. The others all seemed to love their jobs and were more than willing to answer the infinite questions of a pre-med student.
I did end up with surgery, and that sucked majorly, but it was handled with so much more dignity than my last hospital experience. Instead of wheeling me in there in the buff I was never conscious when I was in some more embarrassing situations. They even asked me what I wanted to listen to before I went under general anesthesia, so the last thing I remember was laughing and singing before waking up in the recovery area.
They did everything in their power to make me comfortable, and there's no way I can really thank them enough for that, other than to give them a glowing review and recommend people to their hospital if in need. -

The emergency room was terrible. They left a girl out their literally screaming in pain and puking she was begging for help but nobody paid any attention to her. My first Dr. Appt was terrible but my second with another dr. was great. Ill keep you updated.
