I love this outlet mall - it's really close to where I live and has a great variety of shops.  I would recommend alotting a lot of time for window shopping if you want to walk around the whole outlet, though.  Like many of the other reviews say, the outlet is a HUGE circle with little ways to cut across the huge parking lot (you pretty much have to take your life into your own hands with the crazy drivers and the intense heat bouncing off the asphalt during the summer months).  It's a great long walk if you stick to the covered circular path around the mall, though - so you get your exercise and shopping done at one time!

Not only do they have clothing shops, but also stores that sell accessories, shoes, perfume, and kitchenware.  I definitely recommend hitting it up for big sales weekends (Memorial Day, Tax Free, etc.) but be warned... the parking can get pretty hairy, so come early...hit up your fave stores... and get OUT of there before the crazies roll in.  In all seriousness, though, I'd recommend shopping here if you pride yourself on staying stylish on a dime.

Having been to other outlet malls I feel qualified to point out its strengths and weaknesses.

Strengths would be the parking in the center and its square design.  Walking the perimeter ensures you don't miss any shops.  I've been to others that you walk up and down isles, unless you go there often it's hard to know where you need to go and results in tons more walking.  They have a good selection of stores and some reasonable prices at some.

Downfall would be the super high end stores that even at outlet and clearance prices aren't really affordable.  I don't really get it.

Whoever designed the parking lot obviously wanted everyone to be miserable.

Other than that, excellent selection of stores. I mean who can complain about discounted retail?!

Love the Allen Outlets!  They've got a BUNCH of stores and I also like how it's not too far of a drive.  Most of the time they have okay deals, but there will be a time where you'll find a steal and you'll go home super happy - don't you love finding a good deal?!?!   This is a perfect place to buy gifts because they have Coach, Polo, Juicy Couture, Cole Haan, and they have a Last Call NM too.  Plenty of parking all over, but you have to be careful when people are crossing the street - the traffic can get real bad sometimes so you have to be patient to get into the parking lot and find a spot.  Other than that - love it!

Great shopping! Terrible traffic and the food court is a joke but you can save big time if you pay attention to which of the stores are true outlets and which are not.

Allen Outlets has a great collection of stores and I always find great deals here. Plus it's right in my neighborhood! But this review is about the outlet itself, not the stores that make up the outlet. First of all, it gets EXTREMELY CROWDED here on the weekends. Don't even think about dropping by Fri - Sun unless you're hopped up on Xanax. Otherwise you'll stress yourself out with the sheer amount of people and bodies and strollers packed into this space. I can't really fault them for its popularity, however...

Getting to a parking spot is an absolute bloody nightmare! At each entrance you can either go straight, left or right at the stop sign. Problem is hordes of people are constantly walking across the street to explore the rest of the outlet so cars will literally get stuck there for 10 minutes or risk hitting pedestrians if they try to gun it. It's extremely frustrating because cars trying to get into the outlet are stacked up causing traffic, especially at the main entrance on Stacy.

The food court sucks. Really it does.

This is awesome shopping! There is such a variety of shops and in a great area. We were there on Saturday afternoon and while it was crowded, it wasn't unbearable. The sales were worth the hour's drive for us to get there. We had a great day!

While I'm certainly no fan of shopping in the suburbs, I'm always up for a good value on apparel shopping. The Allen Premium Outlets is one of the nicer outlets in the D/FW area compared to say, Grapevine, Hillsboro, Terrell, or Gainesville. The other outlets are just sad and unworthy of my time. Some of the stores here are true outlets with outlet-specific merchandise and others are standard retail stores disguised as an outlet.

My biggest complaints here are definitely the food court and the parking. Ok, right off the bat, I'm not a fan of food courts anyways but this one is terrible. Every food place is a sad early 90's copy cat of food court staples like Steak Escape and Cinnabon. GROSS. My other complaint is the parking lot and the general walkability of the place. This place is a sea of cars and asphalt with no sense of walkabilty throughout. The plaza is arranged in a giant circle in which you must walk around completely to reach each store. Cutting across the circle means certain danger from aggressive drives. The centerpiece anchor, Neiman Marcus Last Call, is a great store but is placed in the center of the massive parking lot, ensuring that you must walk through blinding traffic to reach the entrance.

On a brighter note, the store selection here is great. There's something for all tastes here and plenty of bargains. Just be cautious to review pricing, some items are deceivingly marked down to make you think your getting a good deal. My favorite stores include J Crew, Neiman Marcus Last Call, Nike, Levi's, and Kenneth Cole. The overall vibe of the place is very friendly although the suburban moms with Kate Gosselin haircuts wear me out. Please stop asking me where the Coach outlet is. Thanks!

This place is so clean and great to shop at.  My favorite places to shop would have to be Polo, Puma, Nike, Polo, Juicy and tons more but these places have great sale racks.  The outlet itself is very clean and there are many places to eat nearby not to mention the foodcourt has a great philly cheesesteak place with awesome natural-cut potato fries that you can fill up on before you shop your heart out!

If you are familiar with the other Texas outlets, this one isn't as large as the ones in San Marcos, but definitely better than the ones in Hillsboro. (I haven't been to the ones in Round Rock yet)

The coach outlet is ALWAYS packed and it seems that everyone goes here. When you see folks walk around a coach bag is always present. This store is nice in that if there is an additional %  off coupon available, they hand them out at the door. (usually 20% off)

My other favorite stores are JCrew, Banana, and the Nine West outlet. If I have the afternoon to spare, I'll typically just walk around all the stores and pop in and out as I like. These days, shopping is the only cardio I'm getting.

As far as shopping goes, I guess this is a pretty good place.  My best friend and I spent the good part of a Saturday walking the entire outlet area.

We found quite a few deals and were tired of walking and carrying our bags by the time we had made it all the way around.  We both found most of what we were looking for... smaller clothes since we both have recently lost weight.

What was bad about this experience was the fact that it felt like there was no air conditioning in any of the stores.  It was stuffy and hot and miserable and really made you not want to try on clothes.  YUCK!

There is a nice selection of the stores, but you need to remember most (not all) of these outlets are making products specifically FOR outlets. I go to the Banana Republic and Ann Taylor loft quite a bit, but I have noticed the quality just isn't the best, especially at BR. I have thrown away a few of my tops after one wash.

Is it horrible? NO. Is your Coach bag the same as Dillards? NO. But if all you are concerned about is the label, then I guess it doesn't really matter.
It is still a fun day out!

There is a wide variety of stores at this mall, a little bit for everyone. From Coach, to Nike, to Carters, every age range is hit.

During the weekend, parking is CRAZY. Either come prepared to be on the hunt for parking or car pool with some friends to save you the trouble.

Some of the stores aren't exactly "outlet" so beware or double check before you think you're getting a good sale.

Check out their website before heading out there, they have a page that has all their sales and specials going on in the mall for that time period. It is a good source to use to plan out your shopping!

If you've been to one of the many Simon outlets, this place will have a very familiar feel to you.

A-OK because there are a few select stores that I frequent to find items that are extremely discounted.  For the rest of the stores, there are occasional deals, but for the most part, the items are either outlet specific (aka cheaper quality) or are available elsewhere for cheaper if you are able to wait and look for deals.

To me, the three stars applies to weekdays.  I no longer stop by on weekends as it can get pretty crowded, and the parking situation and the entrances/exits to the parking lot are a huge mess (especially around the Coach store).

NOTE that while some of the intersections are four way stops, the intersection by the Coach store (any maybe others) does not have stop signs for cars entering the outlets.  Some cars improperly act like this is a four way stop and expect others to stop when they shouldn't be, leading to a huge backup and a lot of confusion.

On the weekdays though, its not so bad, and when you get a nice $350 Ralph Lauren Jacket for $40, I say its definitely worth it.

I love love love this Outlet mall. I have found great clothes at a fraction of the price in the main stores. Also, during the holiday season, the sales are the best and signs will be misplaced so you get things even cheaper because it's such chaos.

My review is actually on the Michael Kors store. I stopped in to grab a dress and ended up not needing it. When I went to return it the girl said that they dont return items they only give store credits..huh?? Yes, there was some tiny sign in the back explaining this, but there is no way I would ever shop at a store that didnt give a refund after 1 day! When I told the girl at the desk that I didnt realize they didnt give refunds...she said well we are an outlet store after all....Hmmmm, lets see, I've only been to about 100 outlet stores and have NEVER found one that doesnt give refunds until now. Wont ever shop there again!!

Allen Outlet is a great place to find some deals and is a nice place to walk around and shop when you have nothing better to do during the week, and yes i did mean during the week as this place turns into a cluster on the weekends!! I really only come here a few times a year. The area around the outlet is really booming however and I can see myself coming up here more often. They have some premium stores like Neimans, True Religion and Coach to name a few.......

The Coach store is the biggest outlet store for Coach I've seen.  They had 20-50% off all the bags and great deals for everything in the store.  I walked out with 2 leather purses and a wallet for about $300, which normally would have cost about $700+.  J.Crew had some excellent sales, as well as Calvin Klein.  There are a really good number of stores and brands there that will ensure a purchase by almost anyone who goes there.  The prices are reasonable and the sales are good.  Burberry outlet is pretty sad looking, with bad merchandising and really the dregs of what Burberry couldn't sell anywhere else.

... a  burberry ... clearance center, you say?

    oh heck yeah i'm in!
not a lot of selection, but if you find something you like and that fits you...  you can not find it cheaper.

till the end of march (or they run out of stock) cole haan has 75 % off everything, apparently they're closing for remodel.

coach had a number of mispriced bags the day i went, so mommy dearest picked up a large brown hamptons for $99 or something redic cheap like that.
a good time was had by all.
burberry, j crew, cole haan, coach, and nieman's  all A++
most of the other stores i think i could've done just as well at a good sale

Fantastic place to find great deals. Only better outlet mall is in San Marcos. Really enjoyed the day and have super restaurants all around the area, so lunch and dinner is taken care of as well. Five stars go to San Marcos, but Allen gets a strong 4.

Round Rock's got a bigger and better outlet than Allen, but I'm not about to drive 2 hours from Dallas when Allen's half an hour away. Seems like they keep opening higher-end shiz each time I go. Latest addition was the Juicy Couture. Not a big fan of the whole candy-colored velour jumpsuit thang (they take up half the store), but they've got a few nice understated pieces as well. Max Studio, BCBG Maxazria, BR, Brooks Bros are some of my fav stores here. More "preppy" stores like GAP and J.Crew? I find that I'm not getting as good of a deal.

Cluster, cluster, cluster......deals, deals, deals.  Awesome stores!! The next best outlet mall is in Round Rock, TX.  The key to shopping at the outlets is knowing when to go.  So on the weekends, go right when the stores open.  Going at night during the week is another great time to go.  I agree with Betsy M with double checking the deals.  Don't just shop just to shop, buy it if you love it! Some of my favorite stores are BCBG, Nike, Columbia, Polo, Off page (which is harry and david), Michael Kors, Juicy Couture and Neimans Last Call.  Neimans last call is one to make sure that you are getting a good deal, but I found a fabulous dress here discounted tremendously!

It's an outlet mall, nothing special.  This one is more like the one in San Marcos only 1/3 the size.  Stores tend to be more of the up-scale types as far as discount shops go.  The Neiman Marcus Last Call just opened, and BCBG and Michael Kors are located here.  Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory makes a good candy apple ( I bought my wife the Snickers candy apple).   I didn't buy anything but my wife did some damage.  They get four stars based on her shopping purchases.

This is definitely one of the better outlet malls I have been to.  There are stores for both men and women, and the sales are very good.  The food court leaves something to be desired though.  After many hours of walking in a circle, they need more than three choices.

This won't take long.  You can find some good deals at these stores but its hit and miss.  Sometimes its no cheaper than the regular store.  If you plan on going though, I would choose a weekday.  The weekends its mad house...Not enough parking and you will spend an hour of your day trying to park and trying to get out of this place.  I feel super sorry for their mailman.  LOL  :-)

Nike, Neiman Marcus & Perry Ellis are all great choices when looking for bargins.  Of course it helps that I live in Allen which affords me the opportunity to conveniently shop & maybe catch an item that otherwise would be gone if I waited till the weekend or an extended length of time.  Ok, so I'm giving a bias review, but honestly, this is a great place to shop for your family.
