Review from Debbie J.
We enjoyed the Allen Event Center! We had tickets for Allen Wranglers and really there isn't a bad seat in the house. We sat two rows behind the VIP section and it rocked!
Parking is free. It's an easy in and out. No crazy walking or looking because everyone was so helpful. I was impressed by the numerous food selections and drinks! Anything from Bud light to a margarita on the rocks or a jack and coke.
The venue is clean and the sound system was off the hook.
I loved the fact they keep it local ...IE. Miss Fairview sang the national anthem. Loved it! -

DO NOT SEE THE "UNHAPPY WITH LIFE" LADY BEHIND THE COUNTER. Just turn away and come back another day. I happen to think this place is great, but today the experience was horrendous. Makes me sad for her.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Really enjoyed coming here to watch the Allen Wranglers indoor football game. We sat in the V.I.P. section but pretty much every seat in the house is a good seat! They have a full concession stand and it was a really nice venue. I also enjoyed watching T.O run up and down the field! Definitely will be coming back here to catch more of these games.

Proud to report my first visit to Allen Event Center was not for an ice capade, hockey game or rodeo but was for a Judas Priest concert.
I was initially worried that the venue-not-entirely-built-for-music may disappoint on the acoustics but with Rob Halford in charge of the mic there could be no wrong. Pyrotechnics, props and his classic riding a motorcycle on the stage all was executed beautifully at the Allen Event Center stage. Immaculate.
Parking is FREE, tons of stuff around the event center to do and the venue offers both beer, wine, and liquor and accepts credit cards even at the beer booths. You aren't just stuck with the Bud Light's either as they have the good stuff in bottles and Shiner on draft. $8 gets you a 24oz plastic cup of Shiner.
There are common food staples like nachos, finger foods and CiCi's Pizza. The staff was nice and laid back. Bathrooms are clean and PS: their soap dispensers are automatic so don't bother tapping every-which-direction on the thing as you just have to put your hand under it and wait. Tee he.
Allen Event Center is very nice and likely a place to provide good entertainment of all forms for many years to come. -

I want to give less stars... I really do, but I can't say I hated this place entirely, and I can't say that I've really experienced better because we just don't have these type of places in Southern California. So with that, 3 stars is what I will give... an A-OK.
We came here for the first night of the Texas Stampede. It was definitely an interesting experience and it is definitely more of an experience for the kids than the adults. They had pony rides there for the kids, mini golf, bikes dressed up like horses, a guy teaching kids to lasso a fake animal, and inside the community ice rink, the ice was covered up to show case several vendors with booths set up to sell their trinkets and inventory. In the back was more activities for kids, courtesy of Capital One Bank. They had an event where kids try to ride a sheep for 8 seconds. Yes... I said riding a sheep. This is a kid's event so get your mind out of the gutter. They also had free sand art and face painting for $3-5 per design.
Like I said, we just don't have this kind of stuff in Southern California. The vendor booths reminded me a bit of the ASD/AMD Trade Shows in Las Vegas. Lots of vendors selling there $1-5 junk for 10-20x the markup. And given that Texas is a majority Christian, conservative state, nearly all the booths were selling Texas related items with crosses, or some mention of the Christian faith in one way or another.
I have to say, it wasn't that bad of an experience. The kids had fun and that's what matters right? It's all about the kids in the end. So maybe this place should get a 3.5 stars... cause I'm not really a fan of the place. So since half stars aren't allowed on yelp yet, I'll leave it at 3 stars. -

Visited the ice rink here for my nieces birthday party.
They accommodated us with several tables tucked into a corner of the rink. I was comfortable but not too spacious. The process of getting skates is simple if you don't have your own. Go to the counter, tell'em what size, they give it to you. There. Simple.
We went on a Sunday evening so the rink didn't have any classes ongoing and it was very relaxed. Me being the novice ice skater I am mostly stayed out of peoples way. I graduated slowly from hanging onto the walls to stumbling about the outer edges.
This is a nice ice rink for the family of all ages, and the atmosphere is relaxed, no rude semi-pro's ruining the fun. -

Since my original review, we've been back to AEC for a number of Allen Americans games and the Texas Stampede Rodeo. We still love the facility. It's well lit, has plentiful restrooms and concessions, and is easy to get in and out of. The parking garage is nearby, and accommodations for the "vertically challenged" are first rate, as we found after bringing a wheelchair bound friend to the rodeo with us.
We still want to check out a concert here; we're just waiting for the right one.1 Previous Review: Show all »

The AEC is home to Allen Americans hockey. Great venue for hockey and a great team! Respectful staff who are quick to respond to any issues that arise. It can't hurt that the Americans won the south league in their season '09-10 and won the Governor's cup for regular season play in season 2. At the time of this review the playoffs for '10-11 have not started but Allen looks good to repeat. Allen = A winning tradition!

Attended Easter church service here last Sunday and it appears my church (The Potters House) will have regular services here each week.
Although the venue is small its a good fit for Allen Tx. Parking is plentiful, restaurants are within walking distance and considering it's merely a few blocks from my home I know have no excuse for being late to church. Now I no longer have to drive 35 to 40 minutes to the main sanctuary in Dallas, TX.
In the future I hope to attend a sporting event or concert that will enable me to same the food and customer service from the concession stand employees. But, for now, this is a decent place for the city. -

I Love the Allen Event Center and Community Ice rink. They do a great job with events and the ice at the rink is always so well taken care of. The staff is always friendly and courteous and I really enjoy going there.
