As soon as you walk in the front, both the ambiance and the aroma of great food meet you...and invite you in. This place rocks.
Sitting at the bar, chatting with the staff and owner, really gives the feeling of being in Italia.
The Zupetta and Polenta appetizers are incredible. The flavors and textures are beyond description. For our entrée, we had the gnocchi with grilled chicken breast. Awesome.
Allegro Grille comes highly recommended. Good thing I live in Maple Glen. -

Have eaten here twice and stopped many times for a drink out our way home. On our recent visit we ordered
Calamari appetizer
Pollo con carciotti
Polenta con ragu di carne
Our food was excellent. The calamari was lightly breaded. Better half enjoyed her chicken dish, while my Polenta dish with sausage was great. Kitchen was slow on this and our previous meal, but if you're not in a hurry it isn't a deal breaker. Staff, especially bartenders, have proven to be consistantly friendly and make for a pleasant meal. Atmosphere suits us as well, low lighting and quiet - good for unwinding.
In an area with a lot of Italian places, this is one of our favorites and would recommend. -

Food is always good. If I could ever pry my kids away from their fish tank I might actually get to eat it before it gets cold. :-)

Allegro is such an amazing Italian family place. Joe and Marilyn have created the best neighborhood restaurant. Friendly, great food and wonderful atmosphere!

This gorgeous Italian restaurant doesn't look like much from the outside, but if you enjoy quality food and don't mind throwing down some semi-serious cash, give Allegro Grille a try.
I got the Pollo e Bello, which was a hefty plate of chicken, portabella mushrooms, sun-dried tomatoes and penne in a vodka cream sauce that was to die for. Paired with a merlot, it was a great dinner for about $25.
My first impression was one of elegance, privacy, and quiet with plenty of seating. The service was very attentive and spunky. The only downfall was that by the time I left it was filled to capacity and loud to boot. I wouldn't suggest going here if you like deep and meaningful conversations because chances are you'll be distracted by the amount of noise.
Next time I go, I'll check out what they have on tap! -

Food is better than Olive Garden, but that is not saying much. Management is not very kind if you try to pay for your meal with any sort of gift card, or http://restaurant.com certificate. Kind of depressing. But overall, better than the run-of-the-mill italian eatery. Don't really see myself every revisiting this place.
