I love this place. I have been taking my pup here since I got him. He kept twisting his ankles and elbows because he's a stupid puppy, and I kept bringing him in as a concerned parent. After we got the symptoms down, I was able to just refill his anti inflammatory without paying for a visit.
They always call a few days after you are in to see how your pet is doing and to ask if certain things have occured which would be a sign to bring the pup back. I find this helpful because my human Dr doesn't even do that for me and generally I'm distracted stopping the pup from barking.
They are also the least expensive out of any other place I have spoken to.
They are also open very reasonable hours for a non-emergency office, 7-7 every day of the week. -

After a run in at another vet hospital leaving me and my dog with our tails between our legs to the tune of an estimate upwards of $3000. We found Allcare through some really nice Yelp! reviews. I will also note that they are open on weekends which is pretty darn cool.
This Vet really is as good as is gets! He was so great and really sat down on a personal level and gave us all the info needed on my dog. My dog is 7 and his teeth were in pretty bad shape, had extremely swollen anal glands, and he was unaltered. The new vet told me in specific detail that since my dog has a heart murmur that he was highly susceptible to heart issues to do all the bacteria and infection in his mouth. He said that neutering him wasn't an extremely pertinent issue, but since he had to be put under for the teeth cleaning that it was valuable to do in the case that he would potentially run into prostate problems later in life. He also was glad to drain the anal glands. So after surgery is all said and done with he pulled three teeth, neutered, and drained my dogs glands all for 550. including the first and all follow up visits. The vet hospital even had a volunteer pet my dog the whole time he was under. -

Finally...a veterinarian that understands my concerns as a pet parent! Over the weeks, I noticed that Mika had a loss of appetite, didn't want to play anymore and even rejected her favorite treats! It was time to bring her to the vet.
Jeremy (the doc) was very understanding and explained everything thoroughly. He was sympathetic to my concerns. Turns out Mika was experiencing a false pregnancy. Her body is preparing her for a pregnancy that wasn't going to happen. He explained to me that it is quite common and that he is 90% sure it is a false pregnancy but if I insisted on a blood test, he can run that too. The cost was going to be a little over $100...eh, I trust you doc. Mika was also running a little bit of a temperature. So she couldn't get vaccinated but I wouldn't have to pay an office fee next time when I bring her in for her shots.
I used the coupon I got from Valpak and this initial exam was FREE :) I am very happy to have found this place. -

I know there are some negative reviews on her, with most being good or GREAT.
We just got Luna, a poodle shizu mix. She was born with a small hernia and we wanted to make sure she was healthy and aslo ask abou getting her fixed and just basic new parent questions for her care.
Dr. grossbard was really nice and helpful. He knew a lot and broke everydown. In regards to spaying Luna, there was a price break down from 200-400 including the surgery for her hernia, with a break down of basic cost to luxuries such as pain medicine.
We plan on brining her back and ill update my review once more to reflect the whole process.
On top of the doctor being cool, the staff was very helpful friendly and looked happy to work with us and meet our new little baby gurl!!! -

During spring break, I noticed my Jackrussell-chihuahua puppy, Truffles, was not acting like herself. She had low energy, didn't answer to her name, and generally wanted to be alone.
Everyone thought she was just depressed because of the rainy weather. We all thought it was going to pass in a week or so, but within days of her mood change, she started yelp/squealing at the slightest touch of her front paws--she could barely walk! At the time it was Friday night, and her regular vet wasn't opened on weekends.
I looked on yelp to see if there was any vet office opened on weekends. Luckily my mom works at the Post Office and met Dr.Grossbard before. I called in, and they had an open time slot at 3 PM. Thank goodness!
The office was easy to find, but had limited parking. We (mother and I) walked in and finished Truffles's paperwork. Truffles quickly got weighed and we were off to one of their examination rooms.
We were greeted by two girls that worked there (I believe both their names were Lisa). They were super sweet to Truffles. They asked us questions about Truffles (symtoms, duration she was like that, etc) and reported to Dr. Grossbard.
A minute later, the doctor came in and examined her. He was very thorough and tested her muscles/limbs cautiously. Dr.Grossbard told us he thought it had something to do with a pinched nerve from too much running (she does run an awful lot). He then told us all possible options, which included other tests that help support his theory as well as the solution. One in which was two shots (a muscle relaxer and something to help with the inflammation) and two different pill medications.
He was not pushy at all! He made sure everything was entirely our decision. Like many said before, his rates are very reasonable (much cheaper than Truffles's regular vet). Everything totaled up a little under $100. Examination is also free for first-timers. Because of his extensive hours (weekends, yay!), his knowledge, and love for animals, i'm currently trying to convince my mother to make Dr.Grossbard Truffles's regular vet!
My mother's coworker also goes here and she told us once how Dr.Grossbard's office babysat her dog until she got off work (at 6pm). How thoughtful! -

I first came here about 6 months ago with a 6 yorkie litter from my moms two yorkies. We came here a few times between all the 8 yorkies for a a variety of shots and preventive care. Everything was cool. Just yesterday, I called for my 7 month old yorkie to go in to get neutered. When I called in they had told me it would cost $95.00. When I arrived this am, the front desk women gave me a peace of sheet to fill in with a dozen of extra "care options" for the operation that were NOT included in the price. I had to decline or accept and initial on each added item. I was concerned and asked a few questions regarding the additional care since I am not a vet and did not know if it was really necessary or not. While talking to front desk girl, the very impatient and annoyed Dr. Jeremy Grossbard came flying from inside and snapped at me: "Come into this room and stop this non sense....This is ridiculous." It took me a minute to realize that he was talking to me.???? I said excuse me? He went on to say: This is stupid! You guys are arguing back and forth... come into this room and I will answer your questions and you will pay me for my time! WOW WOW WOW!!!! SO you mean to tell me that a mother being concerned and having extra questions about her pet's operation is STUPID?????? You are STUPID!! AND RUDE AND INSENSITIVE. I will never return here and I will make sure that all our yorkies find a new caring and loving vet.
ANY suggestions will be very helpful.
THANK YOU!
P.S: Crazy, insane vet followed me to my car, held my door open and said that he was talking about the front desk girl when he said that it was stupid and ridiculous!!!!!! It wasnt about me but his staff!!! WOW!... So you think it is ok to talk about your staff that way huh?
YOU need to seriously improve your attitude. For obviously, not everybody will put up with it! -

We have been to see Dr. Grossbard five times over the past year and I have been impressed with him each and every time. I am going keep this brief, but that's not because I couldn't write pages on how much I like his as a vet.
He is great for the detail-oriented pet owner. He will take you through each and every option and explain the pros and cons. Being someone who likes to talk things through, I am completely won over by Dr. Grossbard's patience and thoroughness. And he openly admits when he doesn't know something, another trait that I respect and makes me trust him even more.
The prices are very reasonable from my experience and we've always been taken into an exam room within 10 minutes of our appointment time. From the hours I've sat in other vets' waiting rooms, this is quite a change.
To answer another reviewer's comment about there being added charges, I think Dr Grossbard tries to make his care financially accessible for all. He doesn't skimp on necessary safety items, but if there are things he can do a procedure without, he will give you a price with and without that option. I think this might take people by surprise because there isn't usually so much transparency from vets.
I guess that is the best word to describe Dr. Grossbard's approach: transparent. -

This vet deserves every single 5 star review! If you live in the city, it's worth the drive to Pacifica. My hope is that their level of service doesn't diminish as they become more established.
We adopted a rescue poodle who needed to be spayed and desperately needed her teeth cleaned. Her teeth were caked with tartar and some looked infected and loose. First, we took her to a vet on Valencia in SF. I liked the vet but not the estimated cost of $1200-$1500 to clean her teeth and $500 to spay! I promised hubby that I'd call around for estimates.
I called around for quotes at several Yelp-worthy vets but the receptionist (Michelle) at All Care won me over when she patiently answered my questions, never put me on hold, and was willing to give out prices. Several practices wouldn't even give prices out over the phone.
It was $115 to spay a 13lb dog which included antibiotics and followup appointment to remove stitches. This is less than the East Bay SPCA who charges $125. Not a big difference but you can see that All Care is in line with other low cost options.
Dental cleaning was $129 plus $20-$50 per tooth extraction. I think they worked us a deal because we had 4 teeth pulled for $60. Since our rescue is 7 years old, we opted for "strongly advised" IV fluids during these procedures to help flush anesthesia from her liver and kidneys ($54) and the blood work ($58). We also got her rabies and vaccine updates at $15ea which is the same as the East Bay SPCA. It was another $54 for the comfort package which is a 5 day supply of painkillers. If I had my lady parts removed, I sure as hell would want painkillers so we sprung for those, too. Add it all up plus toss in microchip and it came to $623. Much less than Mission Pet Hospital estimate of $1700-$2000 just for spaying and dental cleaning!
Dr. Grossbard did a great job with the surgery. Doris (the rescue) was ready to jump and play by her third day. The stitches were neat and now barely visible two weeks later.
The office is easy to find with lots of parking. We've been there twice and didn't encounter that typical vet chaos of ringing phones with a packed waiting area.Listed in: Dog Friendly Bay Area

Took my baby in for a dental cleaning today and I am amazed that his stinky breath is no more. He is a rescue and his teeth were getting dirty so we took him in for his cleaning. One of his canine teeth is crooked and has been dirty for as long as I've had him. I assumed it was a stain and would be there for good but when I picked him up today and brought him home, I saw that the stain was gone! I can't believe my baby has pearly whites :)
Thank you, Dr. Jeremy! -

About two months ago our fur baby, Coco the Brussels Griffon was sick. She started with diahrrea. We waited a day and a half to see if it was a passing thing. It wasn't so we took a stool sample down to our regular vet in the Mission. Next morning when I called they assured me it was a parasite and easily treated. We went down, got the Rx and started her treatment that day. One was a anti-parasitic and one was a digestive antibiotic. From there she got worse. Instead of diarrhea she was vomiting everything she ate. We called the vet again. They said to put her on a bland diet and see how she was doing the next day or two. After a day or two she still couldn't keep anything but yogurt down and was having signs of allergic reaction. Her eye got puffy, she had hives on her belly and she sounded like she was weezing one night. We called the Vet again who said to stop the meds. By now it was Saturday morning and they didn't have any appointments until Monday.
I looked to see if there was another Vet who could see her that day instead of taking her to the emergency room. I found Allcare and figured that the reviews spoke for themselves. When I called the phone was answered promptly by a helpful young woman who got me the first appointment the next morning! In the 3 years we've had Coco there has never once been a time when our regular vet didn't put me on hold as soon as they answered.
The office was easy to find and had plenty of parking. We walked in and filled out the paper work then waited our turn. Two minutes later (and right on time) we were greeted by Jeremy. (This NEVER happened at our vet in the Mission where we always waited 10-20 minutes before going into a room and another few minutes to see a doc) He took us into a room and examined Coco. We showed him the prescriptions the pet hospital in the Mission had given her. He left for a moment and came back with a super thick book that must have been a veterinary medication encyclopedia. He read the excerpt on the anti-parasitic Coco had been prescribed. First, it was meant for horses. Coco is a 14 pound dog. Second, it was to be given in 1 dose not two which was what Coco had been given. Lastly, all of the symptoms she had experienced since the first dose were documented as possible side affects.
Without saying that our regular Vet endangered her life, Jeremy let us know that it wasn't the medication he would use. He suggested giving her a shot of something that stopped the vomiting and another medication that would kill the parasites. It took 3 weeks to finish the Rx but from the minute we left Allcare Coco felt fine. We took her directly to the beach for an hour and she's been back to her old self since.
When you love an animal there isn't much difference between the care you expect for yourself and what you expect for them. We won't be going back to the pet hospital in the Mission which is not only too busy but too expensive. You will save more than money at Allcare! -

I moved from SF to Pacifica in March, and then AllCare and Dr. Jeremy opened shortly thereafter. I had already done an exhaustive search for a new vet for my dog since we moved here from Orlando a little over a year ago after having an outstanding vet there, and so was a little picky when we got here. Actually wasn't happy with so many in SF (outlandish pricing was an overriding factor, but there were other issues), but then found an excellent one just outside of the city, so I didn't really need a new vet when I arrived in Pacifica.
However -- I was curious about AllCare because the reviews so far have been good and the fact that they have such expansive hours (evenings & weekends), and given that our regular vet is only open M-F until 5pm, well, I thought, at the very least, if we liked Dr. Jeremy, then he at least could be our nights & weekends vet, especially if an emergency arose. Plus they also have, as of this writing, a new patient "first visit free" offer, and that's hard to pass up -- and a great bone, if you will, to the community.
I actually decided not to wait until there was a problem, but to bring my dog in for a quick check-up, and to see if we both were comfortable with Dr. Jeremy, and then, if so, she'd already be on file if something more serious occurred in the future.
That's the backstory -- and this is the part where I get to tell you that Dr. Jeremy is terrific. A guy who knows his medicine, is personable, spends time with you & your pet, and discusses all possible options. A good way to describe him: down to earth. He also welcomes phone calls and provides follow-up calls, too.
Rates are very reasonable, his flea/tick/heartworm meds are matched in price to 800-Pet-Meds, the hospital is small, but clean & nice, and the staff are wonderful.
So I feel good to have taken that first appointment and will be secure in knowing if that we need a vet on nights or weekends, or just a second opinion, we got Dr. Jeremy right in the neighborhood. -

We are so happy we found a clinic we trust! Our Boston Terrier, Samba is our baby and we have visited 3 clinics before finding Dr. Grossbard. The Dr and the staff is very nice and caring, the Dr. gives us options and estimates, goes over each one of them and doesnt push us to pick the most expensive solution, he even says "if it were my dog I'd...". In the previous clinics Drs would usually push for pricey procedures or find problems that Samba didn't even have, heard many times "she'll always have this problem if we dont do this or that". At Allcare the prices are fair and I really trust them. Samba loves going there! Plenty of parking and never so busy, the Dr doesnt rush you, he takes his time to answer any questions. Love them!

I seldom write reviews on Yelp, but I was very pleased and impressed with the service that my dog received this afternoon (I brought him in because of an abscess in his neck that keeps coming back). Dr. Jeremy is knowledgeable, very honest, takes the time to explain every little detail, and has over 15 years of experience as a veterinarian. I only wish I had found out about this place sooner (I'd been taking my dog to Banfield since the day I brought him home from the shelter three years ago). Jeremy (as he prefers to be called) was able to give me a very thorough assessment of my dog's condition. He even went so far as to explain step by step (in gruesome detail) what the surgical procedure to have it removed would entail.....seriously, when it comes to detail this guy spares absolutely nothing (which is a plus, I guess). In the end, Jeremy referred me to a specialist and I walked out of his office more informed and confident in my decision to carry on with the surgery (as opposed to simply having the abscess drained again). I have complete trust in him (and we just met for the first time today so that by itself speaks volumes) and I know that my dog would be in good hands at Allcare if an emergency arose.
I had been looking for a new vet ever since Banfield charged me $800 just to drain the abscess in my dog's neck back in February, and I'm so glad I found this place. I'm definitely bringing my dog back here for a much needed dental cleaning as soon as he recovers from his surgery. Thanks Jeremy!
**As a side note, I'd stayed up all night working on a paper for one of my classes and I was having one of the worst headaches in my life so I was in a pretty awful mood the day I brought my dog to Allcare. Nonetheless, Jeremy and everyone else in his office were very nice and pleasant. I'd give this place ten stars if I could. Yep, this place really is that awesome :D -

I needed to get my cat into a vet's office early in the day 8 AM and I stopped at one business and found they didn't have doctors there that early, even though they were open. I noticed this veterinary hospital and thought I would try my luck. I was so happy with Dr. Jeremy Grossbard's excellent explanation of my cat's malady and what treatment options he recommended that we pursue that i decided he would become our veterinarian. He calls me with lab resutls, even on Sunday. I can come and pick up the special food he recommended for my pet's condition. Everyone in the office is super nice and very accommodating. I just love this place. My cat has responded well to the treatment and we are continuing this course of therapy. I highly recommend the kind and thoughtful people at Allcare Veterinary Hospital in Pacifica.

My cat has been ripping his hair out for months. After visiting 2 other vet and 250.00 later. He was still ripping. He was literally losing his mind. But I had to find him some relief and after 1 visit and 60.00 later he was no longer ripping. Dr.Jeremy gave him cortisone shot. And ordered allergy testing. My cat is allergic to tuna and poultry etc. He still looks awful but atleast he received REAL CARE . THANKS all care. The front staff is superior and I will never go anywhere else.

Dr. Grossbard is absolutely amazing! I am not surprised at all that all of the ratings thus far are 5 stars. I've had a lifetime of veterinarian interaction with all of my beloved animals and I am not exaggerating when I say that Dr. Grossbard is by far the best doctor I've ever met. I've never had a veterinarian take the time to type up a personalized care plan or had follow up calls from the office asking how my pet was feeling. It is simply an added perk that the office is down the street from our home and is phenomenally affordable.

I came into All Care Veterinary Hospital under the worst of circumstances. My dog had just been hit by a car, and visiting the area, I did not know where a vet was. A good Samaritan stopped and led me right to their parking lot. Dr. Grossbard and the entire staff were amazing. I knew my dog died right next to me in the parking lot, and though they couldn't help him, they were immensly considerate, respectful, and compassionate with me and my dog. Having just opened, their facility was clean and tidy. They were exemplary in being gentle with me and offered me generous options to take care of my beloved dog, Knuckles. They made the best of the worst of circumstances, and were compassionate and professional beyond mesure.
It has been over a month, and when I work in the bay area, I have comfort in knowing they will be there to take care of my dogs' needs in the future and mine! If they weren't so far away from my home, they would definately be my regular vet! They are not as prominate as some of the other options in the area, but quick, courteous, professional, and reasonably priced. They didn't even charge me, though I did take them up on their reasonable offer for having Knuckles cremated.
... One parting note; they were thoughtful enough to call me a few days after this to see if I was OK! Your pets are in good hands if you visit them! -

I have had a great experience at Allcare Veterinary. Everyone there was extremely helpful, caring, and patient. I was nervous about putting my elderly dog through the stress of surgery and anesthesia, but Dr. Grossbard and his staff all took extra time to explain everything to me in great (but very understandable) detail. They never got annoyed with my millions of questions and concerns, and thoughtfully kept me posted frequently throughout the entire process. Icing on the cake: their services are very reasonably priced compared to other Bay Area vets.

After years of going to one of the bigger pet hospitals in Pacifica I was very pleased to find Dr Jeremy Grossbard at Allcare. Dr. Jeremy (as we call him) entered the room and rather than staring at our file he sat on the floor and our very skittish kitty climbed into his lap as he spoke with us. Immediately we knew this was going to be our new Vet. We later brought in our old dog with many health issues. He is kind and gently with the animals and is a great listener and communicator with us. Unlike our experience with some of the bigger pet hospitals he didn't guilt us into doing many expensive tests, X- rays and procedures; rather he gave us several options for treatment and let us choose what was best for our animals.
Prices are more than reasonable, quality care without guilt and open on weekends. Another bonus - he encouraged us to give him the opportunity to match the prices of meds and flea drops we get online.
