    AH-MAZ-ING

Best Falafel I have EVER had. EVER. Everything was delicious, grape leaves, rice, hummus was perfect, the pita was fabulous. I don't know what to even say. I have simply never eaten such amazing falafel ever.
I will be going back to often maybe considering its a good half an hour from my house. Totally worth the drive.
Prices were reasonable and everyone was so kind and friendly.
    EAT HERE!!

This review is long overdue! I moved to Chicago about a year ago, but prior to that I worked and lived in NY very close to Allan's Falafel. Lucky me! This place is amazing! The food is fresh and flavorful. They are always fast and the food is made to order. I recently went to Israel and while I had some amazing food there, trust me when I say that nothing compares to Allan's. Allan (and his wife) are both very friendly and they make you feel like family. Great food and great company; you guys are the best! Let me know when you expand to Chicago because I will be the first customer in line!

This place is great.  No ambiance to speak of, but it doesn't matter.  Everything is good here and the owner and his wife are very nice.  The Shawarma is the best!

We have been to plenty of places that serves Falafel but had no idea this spot was gonna be so good. We ordered the Falafel and the grilled chicken cutlet entrees. Both dishes comes with pita bread, rice or fries ( we chose the rice), green salad( so good with the honey dijon kind of dressing), hummus, and the tahini salad ( cucumber and chopped tomatoes in some kind of creamy dressing). What a excellent lunch to start my day and very filling at a great price. Also, loved the fact that you can see them make your food right over the counter and it's fresh. Allen's is going to be a regular for me.

The best falafel sandwich in New York - all the way up in upstate Orange county! This  is a very small place but everything is made fresh to order.  The lentil soup is the bomb - perfectly salted and seasoned with a hint of sweetness.

Surprisingly great Israeli food in Chester?  Sign me up!  This place isn't a restaurant as its much more casual/takeout as there's a few tables and then the kitchen.  Its owned by a nice Israeli couple who keeps the focus where it should be: on the food.

When I went I got a falafel platter (w/ rice, tomato & cucumber salad, hummus, Tahini salad and pita bread), along with a chicken kabab skewer and some fries.  It took awhile to get everything and it was obvious that ever single thing was freshly made.  The chicken was succulent and not overspiced, and the fries were crisp.  My platter was good, but could've used more falafel;  what was there was delicious.  Everything else was also consistently great, with only the Tahini salad being an afterthought (first time, guess I'm not a fan of Tahini).

Between this place and Saffron in Middletown, Orange County is starting to catch up with a better variety of restaurants.  These people really give a damn about what they're serving, as seen on their facebook page.  The results are great thus far!

I have been to the Middle East and I have been to Chester, NY.  Is the food at Allan's Falafel comparable to the middle east?  Hands down, YES!!   We come from Rockland and the family is 1/2 vegetarian and 1/2 carnivore and we can always find something for both.  The hummus is out of this world, grape leaves are just amazing.  The chicken kebabs are a big hit too.  The Falafel is SO good. You can have it served in a pita with tahini, pickles, lettuce and cucumber as they serve it in the Middle East or you can have it as a platter with french fries. Either way, don't miss out.
The Israel Salad is very good too as is the spinach pie.  Don't miss this great find in Chester.  Oh and don't forget to save some room for Baklava for dessert.  Just delicious.

"Oh my gods the stuffed grape leaves!"

We sought authentic and delicious Israeli food for our wedding rehearsal dinner and our  wedding planner recommended Allan's. A quick stop, talk and (most importantly) TASTE with the handsome Israeli owner and we were sold! Not only were he and his staff exceedingly courteous, but the food there is absolutely phenomenal - freshly made, perfectly cooked and seasoned, crispy-outside-melt-in-your-mouth falafel and oh my gods the stuffed grape leaves! Turns out, not only do they cater, but they were willing to deliver it all the way to Newburgh for no extra charge! I can't wait for the wedding in October, and the chance to share this delectable find with all my family and friends.

Needless to say, every trip upstate since then has inevitably included a stop at Allan's and some mouthwateringly amazing Israeli food - and every time we stop, they remember us, too =)

Really refreshing to see something out of the norm for this area.  Had heard from a few people that the food here was well worth the visit.  We found ourselves in Chester the other night so we thought we'd give it a try.  I went with the Shawarma Pita with Fries DW went with the Chicken Kufta Kabab.  Both of our meals were prepared fresh and the scent of the food on the drive home was hypnotizing.  The chicken Kababs were the better of the two meals although both meals tasted awesome.  There was enough chicken to feed a small army.  We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and will definitely be returning to Allan's in the future.  If your looking for something a little different you should def check this place out.

We have been back to this restaurant an average of once a week since we found it.  Great food. The chicken kebabs are our favorite.

Mmm delicious :-)  I hadn't had good Israeli food since I worked at a middle eastern restaurant and this really hit the spot!  The place is pretty small with 5 or 6 tables and was packed from the time we got there around 5 oclock.  There were also a few people picking up take-out and one woman picking a catering order so it seems pretty popular!  The decor was a little bare, but the food more than made up for it!  The portions are HUGE, for $10.50, I got a platter with 6 falafel, cabbage, a big pile of hummus, and 3 salads, all of which were very good.  The cabbage was delicious but I think you can also get rice instead.  The waitress was really busy but still super nice and very quick with everything.  I will definitely be going back to try the spinach pie and baklava!

The only thing I love more than my boyfriend in New York!  I've been back and forth between CA & NY allot over the past 4 months and I've probably been here at least 12 times.  The pita's are the best pitas I've ever had in my life.  I've had the falafel pita and a chicken pita and both were DELICIOUS!!!!  The way the pita is layered with FRESH veggies, hummus, insanely good pickles and your falafel or meat is perfect.  Every bite gets better and better.  Writing this review from back home in CA I'm sad that it will be a while til I go to Allan's again :(  The food is so reasonably priced for the quality & quantity.  Excellent tahini salad, hummus and baklava as well!
