First off, non-profit for a good cause: mental health services in Yolo County.

For a consignor, this place is great.  They will accept lots of your stuff, e.g. even gently used bras, one of which I still use three years after purchase.  And unlike a for-profit place that "invites" you to "donate" them the stuff they wouldn't accept to fatten their sales racks (hey, thanks, jerks), they shunt it off into their next-door thrift store so
a) it really does feel like a donation
b) you don't have to hump your box of rejects all the way over to a different thrift store to keep your conscience clear
Caveats: there is a yearly fee to join its list of consignors.  Also, you have to remember to ask to cash out your sales, because they don't always remind you.  And if your stuff doesn't sell by its expiration date, you don't have the option of reclaiming it - it goes straight to their thrift store, where you won't get a cut.

For a shopper...mixed bag.  There is a shelf-life markdown system, and the exact price by date range is included on the tag, which is great.  Most of what gets consigned seems to have been consigned by average parents and the middle-aged-and-up, which means
+kickass costume jewelry
+the occasional kickass retro dress - many retro nighties
+an assortment of kids' clothes and toys
-if you're an average young coed at your life's peak of fitness, good luck finding cute stuff that fits - best styles I've seen are under size 5 and over size 10
+are you a wee aZn nymphet or junky-trunked thicklet?  see above
-"in-style and in-season" consignments, as the store requests of its consignors, means something different for said college students than it does for many consignors
-not much rad stuff for menz
-a dearth of truly rare, stunning clothes

OVERALL:  it feels like a thrift store with a limited selection, in spite of its fairly large size.  Perhaps a shopper in another age bracket would care to comment.  And perhaps some younger people would care to start consigning?  Make some money, people!  Aren't you "starving" or some shit?
